Speaker 2Ghost. What do you want in life?
Speaker 1Lots and lots of money. Okay, that would be nice. And also a film career.
Speaker 2Do better then.
Speaker 1Good advice.
Speaker 2That's my advice for today Just do better.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Whatever you're doing.
Speaker 1Yeah, and whatever you want, just do better.
Speaker 2Just do better. You want something and you're not getting it. Do better, whatever you're doing, it's just not enough.
Speaker 1So do more, do better yeah.
Speaker 2And that's all I had for today. Thank you for listening and we will be back next week.
Speaker 1I want my grandma back.
Speaker 2Do better, you better work harder to get her back. Oh, my advice number two you people need to subscribe to us on Buzzsprout and listen to our super funny outtakes. Yeah, on buzzsprout and listen to our super funny outtakes. Yeah, all the inappropriate stuff and irrelevant stuff that did not make it into the episode yep, it will brighten your day very cool and I'm assuming if you're listening to this you must like us a little bit probably. Why not just listen to more of us?
Speaker 1yeah, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2Today we have very exciting news we got books. Oh, this is very cool.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2What were we going to write in these?
Speaker 1I don't know. You're the one who wanted them.
Speaker 2There was something we were going to write in them and I just my stomach isn't going to talk today.
Speaker 1Yeah, it knows.
Speaker 2I ate ice cream. And now my stomach is talkative yes, that too.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We got notebooks from work and I don't know what to do with it. I don't remember. Someone's going to have to go back in time and find out what we were thinking.
Speaker 1Yeah, you were the one thinking.
Speaker 2That's right, I did think.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't do that sort of thing. I would never think no.
Speaker 2I guess not.
Speaker 1Not for me.
Speaker 2No, that's for someone else.
Speaker 1Yeah, now you were funny again.
Speaker 2I was funny again. Once again, I was funny. Yeah, that's something I did.
Speaker 1You're hilarious.
Speaker 2Thank you, nobody laughs. On the inside I'm laughing, yeah well, I would like some external giggles.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2What if you actually laugh like that? That would be funny. I would try to get you to laugh more often. I already tried to get you to laugh as much as possible, but more often.
Speaker 1Okay, should we start?
Speaker 2I burnt myself.
Speaker 1Oh okay, when did you burn yourself?
Speaker 2While I was making food.
Speaker 1Oh, I didn't hear that?
Speaker 2No, I don't usually scream when I'm in pain.
Speaker 1No, but you usually say something.
Speaker 2Yeah, I probably did a little bit.
Speaker 1You said something Something.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's how I curse.
Speaker 1Yeah, let's start.
Speaker 2Do that then?
Speaker 1Okay, is this for after me saying or before?
Speaker 2Is this for today? Yes, let's do this. Cheers.
Speaker 1Cheers.
Speaker 2This is the episode when I'm not drinking.
Speaker 1I'm sorry.
Speaker 2I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Matias. And who are you, you laughing maniac?
Speaker 2My name is Lauren.
Speaker 1Yes, also known as the laughing maniac.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1And we are gonna be your friends for an hour or so. That's what we say.
Speaker 2I don't know how long it's gonna be, but sometimes we say things we are friends and that's what we're gonna be.
Speaker 1Yeah, we try to be as friendly as possible. Yeah, and also a bit rude, I guess, sometimes.
Speaker 2Oh boy, look how loud I am, oh yeah.
Speaker 1You're an American. See, I'm rude towards Americans now. Okay, so how are you? Lauren? Sorry, Also known as the laughing maniac.
Speaker 2Yes, I am doing well. How are you doing, Matias?
Speaker 1Wow, you sound wise.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1No, that's a reference from.
Speaker 2From another episode yeah, uh-huh, when I was sounding equally as wise as I just did now.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, I'm good Right now. I'm good Right now, I'm good.
Speaker 2We're doing great Amazing.
Speaker 1So, yeah, this feels like it could be a good episode.
Speaker 2Wow. We don't have many of those.
Speaker 1No, so this has potential. Yes, I just want to say that. So now we have the pressure of that.
Speaker 2Right, right. Well, let's ease up on the pressure because, that ruins everything.
Speaker 1You ruined the episode. No, I'm kidding.
Speaker 2You're such a drama queen. We're all doing amazing, so what did you do last weekend?
Speaker 1What did I do?
Speaker 2No one knows.
Speaker 1I edited.
Speaker 2You did that.
Speaker 1Yes, I did. You did that, yes, I did. You did, I really did.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And I finished my videos, yeah.
Speaker 2That's all you did.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was happy about that.
Speaker 2Cool, I went on a cruise.
Speaker 1Wow.
Speaker 2Yeah, very fancy. I'm trying to convince my life partner to make it a tradition, a tradition. A yearly thing.
Speaker 1A make it a tradition, a yearly thing a yearly tradition, a yearly thing?
Speaker 2yeah, it feels like you do it more often than yearly, but last year we went on two cruises yeah one of them with the kids and the other one without okay, okay, yeah this year we've only gone on the one okay, yes but we had fun. We got a really big room. It was a suite with a living room. Oh, suite, yeah, it was a suite, suite. Yeah, we had a living room and a bedroom. We had two bathrooms and a jacuzzi.
Speaker 1Wow, two bathrooms. Yeah, that's more than you have at home.
Speaker 2We had our own bathrooms. Like he stuck to his bathroom and I stuck to my bathroom. It was really nice.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I was really bad with my eating habits, but it wasn't so bad. No, could have been worse it could have definitely been worse, but I tried to generally be like okay, but I mean I could have done better.
Speaker 1You can always do better. You can always do better, you can always do better.
Speaker 2That's that's the theme for today is do better. But yeah, it was good, the food was good, I had a couple drinks and we danced. We went out to some live band on a stage Live band on a stage Obvious descriptions here. There was a stage and there was a live band on it and we danced and the band had like musical instruments Right. And they played them and the noise that came out of these instruments sounded really good together.
Speaker 1And then Some people call it music, right?
Speaker 2yeah, yeah and then the guy started to like talk in a weird flowy way and yeah, okay, so there were people on stage, right, okay yeah, they played music live. They weren weren't recording, okay, they weren't lip syncing. It was live and we danced. We danced a lot. So much dancing.
Speaker 1You were jumping around.
Speaker 2We were jumping around. We were also actually dancing.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2We were also jumping around.
Speaker 1We're kind of dance.
Speaker 2I don't know the names of dances and I don't know. That's what I have to say about that yeah, that's why I want to learn how to dance okay, you know, so you know what you're dancing yeah, so yeah, there was that, and we sat in the bubble pool a few times, or the jacuzzi, and then the next day we had breakfast okay and then I went to the gym.
Speaker 1It was a fun gym. Yeah, you sent me pictures I did you looked very lonely there yes, it was so nice.
Speaker 2there was a nice view of the water, yeah, and I was alone, so there was no one staring at me, and it had pretty much the equipment that we were talking about having in our gym.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2This is our gym.
Speaker 1It was like the best kind of gym.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was really nice.
Speaker 1Very cool.
Speaker 2So I worked out for an hour and I did pretty good. I did go to the gym last weekend.
Speaker 1Maybe I should go to that.
Speaker 2Just for the gym. Yeah Well, last year I went into the spa and this year I went into the gym, so maybe next year we'll get a massage.
Speaker 1Yeah, why not.
Speaker 2It would be nice to get the full package, yeah.
Speaker 1What will you do the year after that?
Speaker 2I don't know. Try to find something else to do.
Speaker 1I guess yes, steer the ship.
Speaker 2Yeah, we're going to run the ship. Yeah, mm-hmm what?
Speaker 1No, what a disaster.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, of course.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I don't know anything about ships.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Let alone driving them. We did have our shopping at the tax-free shop. We we did our shopping at the tax-free shop. We got some alcohol. I know last year we did taste testing of the alcohols that we brought back. We're not doing that this year. I guess.
Speaker 1No, I'm sorry, I'm trying not to drink alcohol.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Right now. Right now, okay, right now.
Speaker 2Right now.
Speaker 1Right now. I'm trying not to drink alcohol right now. Get down, get down.
Speaker 2Okay, okay, okay. So we did that and it was really nice. Everything was nice. We had a buffet for dinner and it was good. Everything was good. I did eat well, for the second day at least. Okay, at least when we went out to eat, like at breakfast, and dinner Okay. Then I made good decisions. I didn't really track what I was eating, but I took things that I knew I was okay, it was good. And then we went to the tax-free shop and I ate candy.
Speaker 1Yeah, you ruined it all.
Speaker 2I did. I ruined my workout, I ruined the diet and everything. So that's basically what happened.
Speaker 1And it was fun Very good. I had a boring weekend.
Speaker 2What did you do for the rest of the week? Anything exciting. I've just been working. What did you do for the rest of the week? Anything exciting.
Speaker 1I've just been working.
Speaker 2Has it been a crappy week, it has been All right.
Speaker 1Especially today.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1You had it worse yesterday, right?
Speaker 2I mean, it does feel like my entire week has been stressful and, yeah, all around crappy.
Speaker 1But we went to the gym on Wednesday.
Speaker 2Right, we did.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2We did pretty good. Yeah, I'm happy with what we did there.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'd say so. We biked and we did some weights. Well, maybe not me.
Speaker 2You did not. No, I put more effort.
Speaker 1I did the things with the lowest weight possible.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1But that's because I don't want to build muscles, I just want to lose weight. I don't want to gain muscles.
Speaker 2Okay, Right now. On Tuesday we brought the bunny to get fixed.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2He had his appointment to finally get fixed.
Speaker 1Yeah, poor guy.
Speaker 2And this guy. It's so scary bringing him back and he's so tired.
Speaker 1Yeah, kind of sad.
Speaker 2He's sad and he looks like he's dying, and we found him laying in his litter box just sleeping.
Speaker 1Aw.
Speaker 2Aw, poor guy. It felt so bad for him. Yeah, but he's up and running around now. He's good. I had to miss lunch on Wednesday because I had to go home and give him his medicines.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But he's good now.
Speaker 1Yeah, good. Oh, and talking about pets, yeah, you know, we got one kitten and then, like a week later, we decided to buy his brother as well. Yeah so we have two kittens now.
Speaker 2So you're up to seven.
Speaker 1No six Six right. Yeah, and it's good for them to. You know, have a playing buddy.
Speaker 2Yeah, I don't think the adults are that interested.
Speaker 1No, they don't like the kittens at all.
Speaker 2How have you been doing with the eating and stuff?
Speaker 1I would say I've been pretty good actually.
Speaker 2Eating well, not just eating in general.
Speaker 1Yeah, exactly, I have been eating.
Speaker 2Well, that's more than.
Speaker 1No, I have been eating. Well. I mean, I'm not on the same diet as you are, no, because I still eat carbs and all that so but uh, yeah, it's been good you're mostly trying to stay away from sugar and stuff, right? Yeah, not to overdo it yeah I did that before and, yeah, it was noticeable.
Speaker 2Are you still doing your evening snacks?
Speaker 1I mean, I have like yogurt and fruits.
Speaker 2Okay, it's not ice cream. No, like it was.
Speaker 1No, yeah, exactly. No, I don't eat ice cream, I've been good.
Navigating Weight Loss and Cravings
Speaker 2Good, good choices.
Speaker 1This is like the only energy drink I drink in the weeks now.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So Friday is a special occasion. That's why I like it so much.
Speaker 2Very exciting.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm happy when I drink that.
Speaker 2I'm glad you're happy.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm happy once a week and it's now.
Speaker 2Good, how are you doing? I feel like.
Speaker 1I'm doing.
Speaker 2Sorry what?
Speaker 1How are you doing with the eating and all I?
Speaker 2started answering you while you were asking. Honestly, I don't feel like I've been doing that great this week. Coming back from the cruise. It's kind of screwed me up a little bit. The cravings have been high and my impulsiveness doesn't help. And in the department, department, Department.
Speaker 1Yeah, what's that?
Speaker 2The department that I've been helping out.
Speaker 1Oh okay, another department, another department.
Speaker 2That's also a reference for our episode, the other department that I've been helping out. They've been breaking records quite a bit, so we've been rewarded with a bowl of candy. And that bowl of candy, I've just been staring at it all week and it's been staring at you it's been staring at me and I believe it was yesterday. I was like that's enough.
Speaker 2I mean, my energy level, my sugar levels, felt really low because I had been eating candy like throughout the week, like every day, and it's like I'm going to do better and I was doing better. But yeah, I was just feeling so tired and I was like I just need a little bit of sugar, just like six pieces is enough.
Speaker 1Just like the whole bowl is.
Speaker 2Well, I couldn't have the whole bowl because a lot of it was licorice.
Speaker 1Ah, bleh.
Speaker 2Yeah bleh. So I was like I'm just going to pick a few pieces and I'm going to the good ones, all the good ones. Yeah, I'm going to sneak them into the aisles and eat them. Into my mouth to sneak them into the aisles and eat them Into my mouth and sneak them into my mouth.
Speaker 1Right, exactly yeah.
Speaker 2So I've been having sugar cravings.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I plan on kicking that over the weekend.
Speaker 1Yeah, good luck with that, and doing better next week.
Speaker 2Well, tomorrow I'll be working all day, so it shouldn't be that hard I can't just run away and buy stuff at the Shorsk every minute?
Speaker 1No, but you also told me that you have been complimented.
Speaker 2I was complimented One of my good friends at work, not you, a different good friend.
Speaker 1Yeah, she's not my new bestie, no, but we are good friends. Yeah, and I know her too. Yeah, you're also friends with her. I am, so should I be concerned?
Speaker 2and her, yeah, maybe, and her life partner we're friends with him as well yeah, and she was working generally like next to my area, and she was walking past me and she was like I can't help but notice every time I look at you that you look so tiny. Yeah, you look so small, like thinner.
Speaker 1Yeah, Not like short. That's what I thought.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, she meant that You're so short, she meant that I had noticeably lost weight, yeah, and that made you happy and Um compliments. I don't do so well with no. Because, I feel like they make me too confident.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2And so I feel like, oh well, I don't have to care that much anymore, I can just like chill out a little bit.
Speaker 1Yeah, because it's noticeable now.
Speaker 2It's noticeable, so whatever I'm doing well.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And yeah, no, I can't do that. I have to keep beating myself up until I'm where I'm supposed to be. Yeah, but then again, you should like continue the thing when you reach your goal you shouldn't feel like you could go back to old habits either Right, yeah, no, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle.
Speaker 1Yeah, not as much. At least you can, you know, just take a little bit. Yeah, I mean, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle.
Speaker 2Yeah, not as much at least you can, you know, just take a little bit. Yeah, I mean, I don't know how do you go on with life once you get down to your original goal? Like after being so strict about your diet and everything. Like can I actually go back to eating what I like to eat, but not in huge portions?
Speaker 1like I would. That's the difficult part.
Speaker 2Because if I do start eating you know the carbs and stuff is all the weight and the fat going to come back.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah. I mean that entirely depends on how much you eat and if you stop working out. Yeah, those are factors.
Speaker 2So I guess that's what's giving me anxiety, yeah.
Speaker 1But it also when you lose the weight, it also feels better to work out. Have you noticed that?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1It's easier to work out when you lose the weight and it's actually more fun to work out than when you're big and heavy.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Because that's no fun at all.
Speaker 2Are you finding it fun again?
Discussing Movies and School Origins
Speaker 1I'm starting to Okay, but I still think I weigh too much to really enjoy it as much as I did before All right?
Speaker 2Well, we're going to get you there.
Speaker 1Yeah, and it feels even better when you can see the results on the scale and everything.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's when it feels really good and you just want to keep going.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's like, oh, now I should just, yeah, keep going.
Speaker 2And then it's like twice as frustrating after that when you slip up.
Speaker 1True, just for that temporary satisfaction yeah, anyway, we shouldn't talk about that now matias, you know what I want to talk about movies.
Speaker 2Why am I sitting like this?
Speaker 1I don't know, because you want to talk about movies I would.
Speaker 2Would you like to movie on?
Speaker 1yeah, let's movie on.
Speaker 2Let's make this quick. Okay really quick bad summaries. Today is August 30th. Yes it is Friday, yes, and we watched Lucky Number Slevin.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2And Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Yes, oh, geez movies. All right, so I'm going to start with Lucky number 11. So there's a guy who oh God what happened. What did happen in this movie.
Speaker 1So Did you understand everything that?
Speaker 2happened.
Speaker 1Because, I mean, I don't know if I understood everything the first time I watched it.
Speaker 2I think I understood everything the first time I watched it. I think I understood everything.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But putting it into words now in a summary is going to be difficult.
Speaker 1So Bruce.
Speaker 2Willis is in this movie.
Speaker 1Yes, he is, he's not the main character.
Speaker 2Thank you.
Speaker 1High fives. Yes, say that again. It was so good that you have to say it again and once again. Okay, I'm shutting up, you're not saying it. Bruce Willis is in this movie.
Speaker 2But he was not the main character.
Speaker 1Oh, I was just going to say that.
Speaker 2Oh really.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Because you already did.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah, three times Okay, character, oh, I was just gonna say that, oh, really yeah, because you already okay, yeah, three times also okay.
Speaker 2So there's this guy and he gets involved with these two gangster leaders yeah, right and so one of the gangster leaders had set out to kill the other one's son. So the other one wanted to get revenge with using this guy to kill the first one's son as well. That's part of it. And then it really gets complicated. He meets Lucy Liu and they have a thing, and what all can I really say to not?
Speaker 1Yeah, and you don't want to spoil anything.
Speaker 2I really don't, because the twist is crazy. You would have never guessed. I'm not going to say much more than that, no, no. Because it's just, it's twisty, it's tangly, but it's really good it is.
Speaker 1It's a good movie.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's like it makes you think, but not in a complicated way.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2You know what I mean by that.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Like it doesn't make you think too hard, but it twists things in ways that you definitely would not see coming.
Speaker 1Yeah exactly.
Speaker 2All right, I like the movie. What did you think?
Speaker 1I also like this movie very much and I feel it's so strange to see morgan freeman play this kind of character, because he's kind of evil in this.
Speaker 2He's a bad guy.
Speaker 1He's a real bad guy in this one he was one of the game leaders yeah, just that is so you know. Very unlike him, but yeah, it's a very good one. I'm on the same thing that I don't want to spoil the movie either.
Speaker 2So, so you know what? If you're listening to this, go watch the movie so that you know what happens and let us know what you think.
Speaker 1Yeah, you do that, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2And we're going to continue, okay, okay with.
Speaker 1Hedwig and the angry inch oh boy, matias, go ahead.
Speaker 2I have to explain this first of all, was there even a story, or was he just talking about himself?
Speaker 1yeah, I don't know. Okay, this movie is a really weird movie. Oh god, they must have been so high when they wrote this one.
Speaker 2I will agree with you this time.
Speaker 1Yeah, and yeah I mean it's about like a trans guy or a trans girl. He's a guy transformed into a girl.
Speaker 2Someone.
Speaker 1Yeah, kind of Almost Halfway. Yeah, they tried, didn't succeed very well. But A for effort, or whatever you call it. Maybe not A, yeah, f for effort.
Speaker 2That wasn't bad, actually, okay.
Speaker 1It's about the story of this Hedwig character.
Speaker 2And her rival.
Speaker 1Yeah, and like the problems and she's talking about her upbringing or singing about it and yeah, that's kind of it.
Speaker 2And how she got where she is.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's such a weird movie. It doesn't have a lot of twists, but what I found kind of fun, though, is that there's a girl dressed as a guy also, you know with the bandana, and looked like she had a beard on. Really, that's a girl.
Speaker 2How did you catch that?
Speaker 1I was looking at the face and I'm like it looks like a girl.
Speaker 2No, I didn't catch that at all.
Speaker 1Oh, you didn't. No it looked like a guy to me.
Speaker 2What was their name?
Speaker 1The characters.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yes, jeshnik or Jess. This one, yeah. Oh my God. No, that's crazy. This one, yeah.
Speaker 2Oh my god. No, that's crazy, that is so funny. I had no idea. No, okay, no.
Speaker 1So I was thinking about this girl dressed as a guy. Okay, it looked like she had a beard.
Speaker 2Uh-huh.
Speaker 1And that got me thinking could you do tattoos so it looks like you have a beard?
Speaker 2Probably.
Speaker 1And then I'm like, yeah, that could work. And then I'm thinking, what about the hair?
Speaker 2Are you going to tattoo your head so it looks like you have hair?
Speaker 1I feel like that could be.
Speaker 2All right, that is an option. I guess it's very thin hair. Yeah, but it is hair.
Speaker 1Yeah, but I mean it looks like I always have some kind of hair on top of my head so I don't have to look that bald all the time.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's an option.
Speaker 1But no, I don't think I don't. I'm not going to tattoo myself at all. That's just one thought I had during this movie, because, I mean, I'm not sure I really liked this movie.
Speaker 2It was so weird.
Speaker 1It was almost it was too weird for me, it was a bit too weird. Yeah.
Speaker 2I'm not watching it again.
Speaker 1No, me neither. So did you have a favorite song?
Speaker 2I might have.
Speaker 1Yeah, the one where she was talking about her angry inch was kind of funny yeah, yeah, it was.
Speaker 2And then the one that the rival guy was singing towards the end. I enjoyed that one. What about you?
Speaker 1uh, I think I like the one where she was talking about the makeup and I think I looked the songs up and it's called Wig in a Box. Ah, and I like that one.
Speaker 2Was that the one in the credits too? Yeah, Okay.
Speaker 1Yeah, the first time I heard that one I'm like, yeah, I mean, I like this one. It's kind of good. That's more like my style. That was probably my favorite. All right, that's pretty much good that's more like my style.
Speaker 2That was probably my favorite. All right, that's pretty much it?
Speaker 1Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2Would you like to take a break?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, we're going to do that and we'll be right back, yep.
Speaker 1And we're back. Yeah, I guess we're back.
Speaker 2Yeah. I guess we're back. Yeah, that's kind of what I said that is what you said and I am agreeing, yeah. So what are we doing today?
Speaker 1History lesson.
Speaker 2Okay, it's been a while.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's 92.
Speaker 2Yeah, so what would you like to know about?
Speaker 1Okay, so I haven't given this a lot of thought like I usually do. This time I'm thinking kids are going back to school.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1So I'm thinking how did school start actually? Uh-huh, the first school.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And I don't mean like in nature, when people you know started to hunt, and stuff like that. I mean actual school.
Speaker 2Like a building. Yeah, teachers and stuff.
Speaker 1Yes, classrooms yeah.
Speaker 2Um, okay, go på magkänsla, uh, and stuff yes, classrooms yeah, okay. Gå på magt känsla. That's funny in Swedish yeah.
Speaker 1I'm so funny in Swedish.
Speaker 2Yeah, you are, let's see.
Speaker 1I could have said gut feeling, I guess. But you should go på magt känsla Right. Use your gut feeling.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, but that's not as funny in Swedish, because that's not in Swedish.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1So okay.
Speaker 2If it was in Swedish then it would be more funny in Swedish.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2But since it wasn't, then it wasn't as funny in Swedish.
Speaker 1You know, when I said it in Swedish, that was funnier because that was in Swedish. Right Makes sense. You know, when I said it in Swedish, that was funnier because that was in Swedish. Right Makes sense. Yeah, I'm just giving you time to think about the history. I'm trying to just distract myself, yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, okay, okay. So once upon a time there was a group of children.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2And they played with rocks and sticks and stuff like that. They had lots of questions.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Okay. So they would gather a bunch of pebbles and be like how many pebbles am I holding? And then the other kids would be like we don't know numbers. Sorry, can't know numbers, sorry, can't help you.
Speaker 1What kind of question is that?
Speaker 2Yeah, like, why are you asking? The kid was really curious.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2How many pebbles am I holding? Because I'm pretty sure numbers are a thing.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And also.
Speaker 1No one knows them yet.
Speaker 2Also, I want to speak to you without actually speaking. So if you could read my lips, then that would be cool, or in some other way, like if I could make markings on the ground and you understood what my markings meant. I want to do that.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't want to speak to you.
Speaker 2Right, silent messages, yeah. So the kids kind of came up with their own symbol language.
Speaker 1Okay, cool.
Speaker 2And did that.
Speaker 1Did it start like secret messages?
Speaker 2Yeah, and most of the adults, the adults, the adults, yeah.
Speaker 1And most of the adults, the adults, the adults, yep.
Speaker 2The adults didn't really understand what these kids were doing. They were just playing because they're kids.
Speaker 1Yeah, stupid kids, they don't know anything.
Speaker 2They're just playing.
The Rock's History Lessons and Wisdom
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2One day there was this guy who came along. He was a big, tall guy. He had lots of muscles.
Speaker 1Oh, it was.
Speaker 2The Rock.
Speaker 1Oh, I heard about that guy.
Speaker 2Plot twist.
Speaker 1He comes along yeah.
Speaker 2And he's like I know lots of stuff and he just made things up.
Speaker 1Really, yeah, he's a man.
Speaker 2He thinks he knows a lot of things, but really it's just ridiculous. Yeah, but he's like hey, you kids, you have questions, I have answers. So we're all going to gather in a group tomorrow at eight in the morning and I I'm going to do things.
Speaker 1Yeah, make you smart, and the kids are like why are you up early?
Speaker 2They're already up that early.
Speaker 1Yeah, so it doesn't matter. Yeah, but tomorrow I want to sleep.
Speaker 2Yeah, of course that one day. So they did that. They gathered in a room, I guess.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, I don't know a hut maybe yeah, okay, I don't know, a hut maybe, yeah probably, and the rock was like.
Speaker 2I'm going to tell you things that are going to blow your mind. Okay, the pebbles in your hands. I have numbers for each of them. Okay, wow, and he was just making things up as he went. Yeah, he's like this one is called one and that one is two. Okay, Okay. The next one is three. Yeah, yeah, I'm going to go with that.
Speaker 1Yeah, sounds good.
Speaker 2Yeah, and then he noticed their markings on the ground. He was like no, no, no, no. These are the markings that you want to use, and if you put these markings together, they create words.
Speaker 1Wow.
Speaker 2Uh-huh, yeah, so you can write words like you speak words. You can write them down and have your messages to each other. Yeah, and he taught them the alphabet and how to write words and read the words so that they can understand, they can communicate in that way.
Speaker 1Did anyone like question? Some I mean some words have weird spellings.
Speaker 2I'm sure they did question, but he was like that's just how it is.
Speaker 1Yeah, shut up, kid.
Speaker 2I make these rules, I came up with this, and you are going to spread this to your children as well.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2They were like okay, and he also taught them music. Oh, okay, and he brought this weird instrument thing, this piece of tree with strings on it. He was like this makes nice music. And he started plucking the strings and they were like yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 1Cool sounds.
Speaker 2Yeah. So then he had his like board on the wall and he put a whole bunch of lines on it and just started making dots all over it and he was like this is how you write music yeah, I know yeah, and if you put it out like this, then it sounds like this, and he just plucked some more strings yeah, kids are like that doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1It's like shut up kid Right.
Speaker 2That's just how it is, yeah, mm-hmm. And then he was teaching them science as well.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2And he was like this is a seed, you put it in the ground and it becomes tree. Yep, and they were like okay, and then it actually happened, yeah. And they grew a tree and they were like whoa Crazy.
Speaker 1And he's like whoa.
Speaker 2Whoa, I didn't think that would work. And then it kept growing and growing and it outgrew the hut.
Speaker 1Oh, oh. So he put he it was inside. It was inside, it was an inside tree oh.
Speaker 2It wasn't an outside tree. No, it was an inside tree. It wasn't an outside tree, no okay. So yeah that happened?
Speaker 1What happened to the building or the?
Speaker 2hut. The hut started floating there because it was being hung up by this tree.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, Were they inside when it.
Speaker 2Yeah, it got a little squished, but they managed. I think yeah, and then he would teach them history.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2Because he's been through a lot of history.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2He told them about.
Speaker 1His life.
Speaker 2His life through the first and the second Thanksgivings, yeah, and Christmas and Easter and midsummer, midsummer, the big bang he taught them about that and the titanic oh yeah. Because that happened already at that time.
Speaker 1Before school? Yeah, of course.
Speaker 2And McDonald's.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Because that wasn't a thing yet.
Speaker 1It was a thing already. Yeah, they made McDonald's before school.
Speaker 2Yes, I don't know. In a way it kind of makes sense.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Valentine's Day, of course. Hawaii, the history of Hawaii, the history of bras.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's the one.
Speaker 2That was what I was thinking of.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 2Friday the 13th. Oh really.
Speaker 1We did that too. Yeah, we've done Friday the 13th. Oh, really, we did that too yeah. We've done fairly many of them.
Speaker 2Oh, pirates, oh, the first pirate.
Speaker 1Yeah, that was a continuation. Oh, yeah, continuation of what?
Speaker 2The Friday, the 13th.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2The guy poked out his eye and then he became a pirate, yeah, anyway. So he told all of these history lessons because he was a part of everything.
Speaker 1Yeah, of course.
Speaker 2And now he's off on a journey, teaching children and making them smart.
Speaker 1Okay, cool A question. Yeah, how about idrott? Oh, like gym, yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, of course they did gym class.
Speaker 1It's the rock.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, that was a daily part of their routine.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah, so it's like these small rocks you're playing with, nah take these big rocks instead.
Speaker 2Yeah, we're going to count big rocks.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And you have to lift them.
Speaker 1And run with them and run with them rocks, yeah, and you have to lift them and run with them and run with them. Then when they were gonna play soccer, you have to kick the rocks.
Speaker 2So the kids always had like broken toes yeah, and rocks were a big part of his lessons, yeah yeah, did it like continue with college or stuff like that?
Speaker 1There must have been like doctors and stuff. Yeah, Because of all of the broken toes, I mean.
Speaker 2Yeah Well, they didn't really have doctors yet.
Speaker 1No, that's what he was teaching them for.
Speaker 2Yeah, with his science he did like basic first aid, yeah, and he'd only do like a couple couple of years, but then he'd have to go on to the next village. So the person in the group who caught on to most of the information became the new teacher okay, so he told them to like now you you got, you got to keep this going. Yeah okay, and then he'd go to the next village and start over for a couple of years.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah Cool. Did they learn how to swim as well?
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, because I'm thinking he's the rock he should sink.
Speaker 2He should. Yeah, you would think so. Yeah, but I think he can swim.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2Yeah, he's that good.
Speaker 1Huh, swimming rock.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Floating rock.
Speaker 2Well, he skips at least.
Speaker 1Ah, that's how he swims, he skips on the water. He's like, do like this and everyone else just plosk.
Speaker 2Plos, else just plosk, plosk, plosk. Yeah, and that's the history of the first squall.
Speaker 1Very cool. Yeah, it's amazing how good he was. Did they get like breaks and stuff, and I mean like recess?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Recess, recess, pieces, recess.
Speaker 2Yeah, is that break yeah?
Speaker 1Yeah, and what about like lunch and stuff?
Speaker 2Well, yeah.
Speaker 1So did he make all the lunch yeah?
Speaker 2and he taught them how to cook, so that they really made their own lunches.
Speaker 1Okay, was it a lot of rocks?
Speaker 2I don't know, it might have been a little sandy.
Speaker 1Yeah, this is a rock soup.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, yeah, good, okay, let's end it with that. Okay, let's end it with a strong joke.
Speaker 2Strong joke, yeah Funny.
Speaker 1Like rock strong joke yeah.
Speaker 2Matias, I have a question for you.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Don't laugh at me.
Speaker 1No, I would never.
Speaker 2You would never laugh at me, do you promise? What are you doing?
Speaker 1Why are you laughing'm?
Speaker 2sorry, was it funny? Did you really think it was funny? Maybe matias, yeah, what? At this very minute, this very moment throughout the week, maybe throughout your life, I don't know. You pick the time span.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Okay, what is ruining your life?
Speaker 1Oh yes.
Work Stress, Sugar Cravings, and Laughter
Speaker 2Anywhere between your entire life and just this very moment.
Speaker 1This week it feels like work has been ruining my life. I feel that's a typical answer but I.
Speaker 2This is the one and only time you can use this answer.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Next time you can't use it again.
Speaker 1No, but it feels like I've been so stressed out this week and I have hated working, I mean especially today.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, I didn't like this.
Speaker 2It was a rough day? Not at all. Yeah, I had a really rough day yesterday. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1Okay, so what's ruling your life?
Speaker 2Ringing.
Speaker 1Ruling, ruling.
Speaker 2Ruling.
Speaker 1What's ruling your life? What's?
Speaker 2ruling. My life yeah, my thoughts yeah.
Speaker 1And are they also ruining your life? Um or is that something else?
Speaker 2I'm gonna say that the sugar cravings have been ruining my life lately yeah it's not just the sugar, but it's the carbs as well yeah, which is. Which is I don't know, generally in the same category. I think, yes, I think I don't know anything.
Speaker 1It's like the things that are really good.
Speaker 2Yeah, the things that I love the most, yeah, yeah. That I've been trying not to eat.
Speaker 1No, exactly that you shouldn't eat.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1I understand you.
Speaker 2But once again, I'm going to do better.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2You're going to do better, and the people at home are also going to do better. Yeah.
Speaker 1And I mean me and our friend at work at the last break.
Speaker 2we were talking about how oh yeah, I wasn't there Sorry. I'm sorry what?
Speaker 1She was asking about where you were. I said that you were kind of forced to be at the fika pressured really yeah yeah, forced, I said yes because it sounds appropriate yeah, it sounds better yeah it sounds worse, that's right yeah and that you were forced to watch the other people, fika yeah, and you had cake. Yeah, you had some fika with you for you yeah, I ate them so slowly.
Speaker 2Yeah, I was like I don't want to eat all of these and she said, yeah, I could never do that.
Speaker 1Yeah, you know, just sit there while other people are just eating the good stuff. And I said, yeah, same here. I couldn't do that either. I would absolutely have a slice of that?
Speaker 2Yeah, and I was offered several times.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I was like no, no, I'm good, I'm good yeah.
Speaker 1It takes a lot of strength, let's just say mental strength, I guess.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1To stay away from that.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1That's admirable.
Speaker 2Wow, fancy word, good one.
Speaker 1Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo.
Speaker 2Good job.
Speaker 1Keep that.
Speaker 2Oh, I will, Of course.
Speaker 1I was thinking how do I pronounce that word, but did I do good?
Speaker 2You did.
Speaker 1I did do good. You did a really good job Good. I did do good. You did a really good job Good. I feel good about that.
Speaker 2Also thank you.
Speaker 1You're welcome.
Speaker 2It was very awkward.
Speaker 1What I just said. No, no, being there at the FICA. Okay, yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2No, the word wasn't awkward, it was very well pronounced. Thank you, yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, I can imagine the fecal was not that fun. No, but you went through with it and you survived I did. I'm proud of you.
Speaker 2Thank you.
Speaker 1You are welcome. That was awkward.
Speaker 2Okay, that was that. I'm gonna do better next week.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2You're going to do better.
Speaker 1I'll try.
Speaker 2The people at home are going to do better.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't know if I said but I lost some weight this week. That's good, so I'm glad about that.
Speaker 2Yes, I don't think I really lost or gained. I think I'm generally in the same place as I was last week.
Speaker 1It could be worse, it could be worse it could be.
Speaker 2Everyone at home is going to do better, and that's my advice for you today.
