Speaker 1:

in a world where everything is unscripted.

Speaker 2:

This is roasty toasty ghost, can I start this off on the serious tone, okay? Okay, the episode uh, yeah sure, okay, we're starting the episode, I guess okay with our yeah, okay On a serious note. Yeah, yeah, on a serious note. Okay, because we were just now talking a lot about, you know, earlier days or years.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That we've experienced.

Speaker 1:

We were nostalgic.

Speaker 2:

We were being nostalgic. Thank you for the word that I was not coming up with. There's a word for these other words, these smaller words. Yeah, yeah, and you had that one. Yeah, but we were being nostalgic.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

So I was wondering you know you're my bestie, right? Yeah, that's confirmed. Okay, when did you know that I was going to your bestie? I don't know was there a moment or something that like sparked, that was like we could be besties I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I mean we, we we've been sitting together, you know, at the table at work at the lunch table. Yeah, yeah for so long, uh, and I mean we sat there. Um, I mean, I guess it must have been like when we started doing the movie nights. Yeah, yeah, is that a good answer?

Speaker 2:

yeah, like at the beginning of the movie nights, did you like for the first one? Were you like, oh, it just going to be one movie night and that's it? Yeah, okay, you didn't expect it to become a reoccurring thing?

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Okay, that's kind of what I wanted, and I expected you to say like nah, but you didn't.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

So that's cool.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, at first we did it every other weekend.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then we had movie nights every Friday. Yeah, yeah, cool. We went through all the Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, good times yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's been a while since we saw all those Schwarzenegger movies.

Speaker 2:

Should we re-watch them?

Speaker 1:

I don't know All of them Maybe. Maybe For a movie day, not all of them Maybe.

Speaker 2:

Maybe For a movie day, not all of them yeah, all of them for a movie day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, yeah sure.

Speaker 2:

I mean if we had like 24 hours to do a Schwarzenegger marathon, one after the other, without kids, and if we had the option to have food delivered.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that wouldn't work, okay, Unless we sped through them.

Speaker 2:

We could do that. We could double speed through Schwarzenegger. I mean, I still want the subtitles and the audio. Yeah, yeah, schwarzenegger, high-pitched, that would be fun. Yeah, maybe one day. Yeah, I'm going to fall asleep. Yeah, that would be fun. Yeah, maybe one day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm gonna fall asleep, yeah, uh, but I mean, not all of them are good we're not watching, maggie no that's not an option no, no, well, we can skip, like the best ones.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's, that's a good okay, so we're gonna have a spreadsheet, okay, like a Google Sheets, and we'll have the title and the length and then all of the lengths will get added up, or they'll just keep adding up Bottom, you'll have like a little link that adds everything up and when it gets to 24, that's when you stop. So top, like from best and down.

Speaker 1:

Yeah smart, so we're yeah.

Speaker 2:

We're doing this Could work.

Speaker 1:

I feel like it will be a lot of bathroom breaks and other things.

Speaker 2:

Well, we've already seen them, so you don't even have to pause.

Speaker 1:

No, okay For bathroom breaks. Okay, and I just feel that it's going to be some things that are going to you know interfere with.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what. You don't know what.

Speaker 1:

Kids calling. But I guess if we just let it play and don't pause for anything, we've seen them already.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because we never reviewed the Schwarzenegger movies on the podcast.

Speaker 2:

No, we just said what the movie was.

Speaker 1:

No, we didn't even have the podcast because we started with james bond yeah, it was after, right after schwarzenegger yeah, and that was like at the end of yeah. It was like yeah, after half of the yeah james bonds yeah, oh gosh, which one was it?

Speaker 2:

the first one?

Speaker 1:

was it one of the tim? Timothy Daltons.

Speaker 2:

Maybe. Which ones are those?

Speaker 1:

The Living Daylights and License to Kill.

Speaker 2:

I don't think so, you don't think so. I could be wrong, but I'm going to check anyway.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I have to fact check.

Speaker 1:

That's the good thing we only have the one first episode, so that's true.

Speaker 2:

We don't have several first episodes.

Speaker 1:

No, we're special in that way.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, I spelled it wrong, I think License.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Lettuce.

Speaker 1:

Lettuce.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was gonna say lettuce at first.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if you heard that Lettuce to kill.

Speaker 2:

Lettuce to kill. Yeah Well, I know that the first time that I had the thought like we could be besties- Okay.

Speaker 1:

Because that's what started it? Yeah, that must have been before Movie.

Speaker 2:

Nights that was before Movie Nights you said something that was funny.

Speaker 1:

I don't remember exactly what it was that time.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yeah, that one time that you were funny. I've been expecting that to happen again. Hasn't happened, but no, you made some kind of joke and it kind of came out of nowhere, but I thought it was really funny.

Speaker 1:

And it was a little bit wrong she.

Speaker 2:

It was a dirty joke. Dirty joke, yeah, and it caught me off guard, but I enjoyed it Because you didn't think I was that way.

Speaker 1:

No I would joke that way.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, you didn't seem like that type to me and then you were, and I thought it was really funny.

Speaker 1:

And that was a surprise in itself.

Speaker 2:

And then I was like I need to talk to you more often, and then we started talking on Messenger. I finally got connected to you on Messenger.

Speaker 1:

It had been a really long time. It took a while.

Speaker 2:

It took way too long and, yeah, I guess eventually I got the nerve to ask you to a movie night.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

All right, should we start this yeah?

Speaker 1:

we can start. I'm gonna start this because I am thirsty okay, but I'm thirsty and it's late yeah, no well, why is your hand there? I don't know uh, I, I just had it in the air, you're raising your hand.

Speaker 2:

Do you have something to say? Yes, yes, matias, what would you like?

Speaker 1:

uh, I don't remember. I was gonna say something and then I forgot it, so I had to raise my hand that didn't help you.

Speaker 2:

No, no, I was. I was hoping for a like um, um, what did I say? You're funny and that's why I like you, and maybe a you too, or something, but that didn't happen.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, you too.

Speaker 2:

Um, too late. Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty the bestest podcast ever. My name is Lauren.

Speaker 1:

My name is Matias.

Speaker 2:

And we are going to be your besties for the next hour or so yes, we are.

Speaker 1:

Does this sound natural?

Speaker 2:

no, no, not at all, okay, no okay, and yeah, welcome. We're here for shut up, okay, wait a minute.

Speaker 1:

You told me to shut up, for you to laugh. Right, do not dare shut up, I need to laugh now don't you dare interrupt me while I'm laughing.

Speaker 2:

How rude, rude Shut up.

Speaker 1:

It's my laugh time now.

Speaker 2:

Laugh time.

Speaker 1:

Instead of half time.

Speaker 2:

Imagine if they saved half time Instead of having half time shows. It's just laugh time. So you spend like half an hour laughing, yeah, at what we should call the breaks laugh time.

Speaker 1:

So you spend like half an hour laughing, yeah, at what we should call the breaks laugh times.

Speaker 2:

Okay, instead of an intermission, we're going to have laugh time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, where we're going to spend five seconds laughing. Yeah, it's time for a laugh time. Yeah, it's laugh time, cool Good.

Speaker 2:

All right.

Speaker 1:

Good suggestion Okay.

Speaker 2:

Awesome, and we're all here to have a good time oh yeah yeah, and so far we're doing great um oh what, what is going on?

Speaker 1:

what, what, what he has yes, how are you doing? Uh, I'm doing good, great, great I'm you that was really quick.

Speaker 2:

You went from good to great yeah, in a second I'm doing good. Now I'm doing great all right, yeah, good or great, sorry yeah it's.

Speaker 1:

It's okay this time, but don't let it happen again, okay I'll try okay, um, how are you?

Speaker 2:

I'm also great.

Speaker 1:

Is that it?

Speaker 2:

That's it. There's no escalation or de-escalation or anything like that. It's just it's a plateau of great.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's good. Yeah, no, that's great.

Speaker 2:

It's great.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, don't do it again. I'm the good great.

Speaker 2:

What were we saying? We're good, we're great.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're good and great.

Speaker 2:

We're good and then we were great, except for me, who was only great. But yes, can we please talk about our week?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just really quickly.

Speaker 2:

Our weekend was good. We went to the gym and that was great.

Speaker 1:

Yes, the weekend I felt so good this weekend, it was last weekend.

Speaker 2:

It was very good God yeah, yeah, you didn't give in to any major temptations.

Speaker 1:

I don't think so, or did I? I don't know, I think on was it Saturday.

Speaker 2:

We went to the gym.

Speaker 1:

We went to the gym. Yeah, it was Sunday.

Speaker 2:

You didn't eat until after we took a walk.

Speaker 1:

I was fasting.

Speaker 2:

You've been into faking, you're faking.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

You've been into fasting lately. I guess, yeah, it just kind of happened.

Speaker 1:

I didn't really think of it until later.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But yeah.

Speaker 2:

I mean, yeah, we went to the gym on Saturday and we did good, mm-hmm, and then, well, I just brought you home and left, or something.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Maybe that's what happened, and then I don't remember what I did. What did I do?

Speaker 1:

You had the kids.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I cleared out my cabinets. Oh yeah, do um, you had the kids. Oh, I, I cleared out my cabinets. Oh yeah, we did a deep cleanse of the cabinets to get rid of all of the temptations, so that my life would be slightly less difficult.

Speaker 2:

Ate it all no, no that's how you've done it in the past yes, that's usually what I would do, but not this time no, no a lot of the stuff was pretty much already gone by the time I got home, which was good, because then if I found something I wanted, then I would have been like, yeah, let's just get rid of this now and I'm going to eat it, but I didn't have that option, which was good.

Speaker 1:

Good good.

Speaker 2:

And yeah, the cabinets are a lot nicer now they were filled with a whole bunch of garbage that we've had pretty much since. We moved into into each other, moved in with each other like what seven, seven years ago? Oh, okay, so from the last yeah, we brought stuff over from the last apartment that we had never even opened.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, it was like um. Why do we have this yeah?

Speaker 2:

well, I know that I had gotten some free stuff from work back when they would give us free stuff.

Speaker 1:

Oh.

Speaker 2:

From the kitchen department.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

Um, I had like whole coffee beans, okay, but I never had a grinder thing. No, ground coffee, yeah, grinding coffee, that makes sense. So we never used it.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

And it just sat there forever. And there were other things too, not just coffee.

Speaker 1:

So you just threw it away.

Speaker 2:

Like the terrible people we are. Yes, we just threw it away. Yeah, yeah, yeah, terrible people.

Speaker 1:

It was old anyway, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It was a lot of old food, so nobody would have wanted it anyway, no, and then on Sunday we did go for a walk.

Speaker 1:

We did.

Speaker 2:

And we were really good. We even tried jogging a little bit. Yeah, just once.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But your legs started hurting.

Speaker 1:

Yeah or yeah, from my thigh up to my buttock.

Speaker 2:

I don't know why. No, I don't know what it starts to hurt. Or does it like tighten up, or I don't know.

Speaker 1:

No, it's, maybe it's a bit of both, I don't know, okay, that is weird.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, maybe it's a bit of both, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

That is weird, yeah, oh, okay, I mean running and jogging works well on a treadmill for me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But not on the, you know, on the ground, or yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, outside. Yeah, it's harder outside.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, treadmill works better for me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, me too. I think I got quite a bit of cleaning done on Sunday too.

Speaker 1:

I feel like I was really good this weekend, yeah, last weekend.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the week itself was not great. We expected to find out if we were going to lose our jobs or not this week and it's been depressing. It's been a roller coaster of emotions and disappointment and anger and everything.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and we're still not really sure about it.

Speaker 2:

We're still waiting to find out, but it's pretty much sounding like a no.

Speaker 1:

It looks like we're not going to keep our jobs.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

But we don't know.

Speaker 2:

No, really, we have not been told.

Speaker 1:

Because there could be people saying no to the you know jobs, to continuing, yeah, to continue at the job, and that would make our chances slightly better.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, but since it's been a week, it's not looking good. No, but, we yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm not gonna give up hope and I think even if we don't get to stay, we will probably find other jobs.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna make the best out of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be okay.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm not that worried, although I've already kind of lost hope yeah, I don't stay, I'm staying, yeah not with you no I give up on everything I'm going to crawl under my desk here and just stop existing yeah, hope is lost, yeah all hope is lost. Yeah, all hope is gone.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so you think it's under there. Are you searching?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, in all of the little cracks in the walls and everything.

Speaker 1:

Where is the hope? I think when did I put it?

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, the week wasn't that great. Monday was really bad, so we gave in to Ben and Jerry's.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we did, and then we were fasting yeah, as punishment for our bad day yeah and our decisions on how to handle the bad day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay um, yeah, we fasted for 20 hours after that, yeah, and you seemed to handle it well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I didn't even notice. I mean, it felt like a normal day for me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, all right. I didn't mind it at all, you probably could do that every day, then I'm not going to recommend it.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

But maybe you could.

Speaker 1:

I'm fasting 24 to recommend it. No, but maybe you could. I'm fasting 24 hours every day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you're going to do the three-week fast.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then eat for one hour and then fast for another three weeks. Yeah, I think you could do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Like eat for one hour and then. So if I do it like 24 times, I've done it. I've been eating for 24 hours. Yeah, so that's a day. That would be a cool thing actually. I guess I don't think it's healthy.

Speaker 2:

but no, absolutely not. And then I came up with the torturous idea of fasting if we go up in weight if we gain weight. Yes, you have to fast for 20 hours.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Even a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you came up with the idea and you're the one who and you agreed with it. Yeah, I mean, I didn't have to do it yet.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, I had to do it the next day. Yeah, I came up with the idea. I went up just a little bit like oh darn it those are the rules I guess there's rules now yeah rules. I say that weird. Okay rules, I don't.

Speaker 1:

There's rules now yeah and uh, I, I was lucky because I stayed the exact same.

Speaker 2:

Not fair.

Speaker 1:

No, and those are the rules as well. If you're the same, you haven't gained anything, right?

Speaker 2:

You can still eat.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

You can't gain, but if you stay the same, then you're okay.

Speaker 1:

That's okay. But if you gain just 0.1, you have to fast. You have to fast to get rid of it.

Speaker 2:

What a terrible, awful rule. Why did I come up with this? I?

Speaker 1:

don't know why do I hate us? I mean it.

Speaker 2:

It works.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm all for it, but if you don't want to do it anymore, that's okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, I mean I can manage, it's okay. It's not like I'm really starving. I mean I will get like maybe a couple minutes where I'll you know get hit with hunger for a little bit.

Speaker 1:

But does it go away for you? It goes away.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah for you, as for you, it doesn't last like hours no, if that was the case, then I would be like running to the snack machine yeah like I need something now yeah, for me it's the same thing.

Speaker 1:

It goes away. For me it comes and then it goes again. But other people at work says that, no, when they get hungry, they are hungry until they eat yeah, and I'm like you know it's going away.

Speaker 1:

I think it depends on how you eat, actually, because I was also that way okay before I started to shape up okay, but I, I I never been that way you're a robot yeah, yes you don't have feelings no, sometimes I I'm not sure if I'm hungry or nauseous yeah, I hate that feeling yeah, because then it's like I don't want to eat because I might throw up but I don't want to throw up, am I going? To throw up, or do I need to eat?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's the worst feeling, yeah. That would be awful if, like I'm too scared to eat.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, if when you're eating you're like wah, you know.

Speaker 2:

Because that's never happened to you.

Speaker 1:

Well, not that way no.

Speaker 2:

No, well, not that way, no, no. I guess not.

Speaker 1:

No, I have no memory of this, so no.

Speaker 2:

It never happened, okay. So yeah, that's how that went, or the week, I guess.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, there's really not much more to say. No, we went to the gym on Wednesday and that's it. It was all good yeah we were good, we were Wednesday and that's it it was all good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we were good. We were good. Let's give an update. Okay, how much have you lost this week?

Speaker 1:

1.7 kilograms.

Speaker 2:

That's good.

Speaker 1:

Not bad.

Speaker 2:

What about me? I lost 2.1 kilos. Yeah, cool.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, about two kilos in a week is not bad I guess not.

Speaker 2:

So that was that, and we've been fairly good despite the ice cream yeah awesome I mean, we lost almost well.

Speaker 1:

Uh, yeah, we lost well, you were 1.7.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's, almost two yeah and I did over two. Yeah, overachiever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean it was like last week I did. Was it 0.4 more than you?

Speaker 2:

I think so.

Speaker 1:

And this week you did 0.4 more than me. So, we're even now.

Speaker 2:

Yay, and today is Friday. It is officially October. Yes, october 4th.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and it's.

Speaker 2:

Kanelbulledagen.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, cinnamon bun.

Speaker 2:

We both got a cinnamon bun at work, and it's also my bunny's birthday. Bunny bun Bunny buns. We did not make bunny buns.

Speaker 1:

We didn't.

Speaker 2:

No, I didn't feel like I had time for ingredients, but because I recently emptied out my cabinets. No, but yeah, he's lived an entire year now.

Speaker 1:

Very cool, my baby, baby, baby.

Speaker 2:

And we also watch movies.

Speaker 1:

We did.

Speaker 2:

We did. Would you like to movie on?

Speaker 1:

Let's movie on.

Speaker 2:

All right. Today we watched 12 Monkeys. Yeah, was that it that's move on. Alright. Today we watched um 12 Monkeys.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Was that it?

Speaker 1:

That's it Okay cool.

Speaker 2:

We also watched the Pirate.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

I would like to tell you about 12 Monkeys.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, please do.

Speaker 2:

This is a movie with Bruce Willis.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's it, nothing else. And his butt.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

I saw a lot of Bruce Willis butt in this movie, at least in the beginning.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, me too.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you also saw it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay it wasn't just me. No.

Speaker 2:

In this one he is time traveling.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And he's trying to prevent something from happening that already happened yeah, he's trying to gather information about what's gonna happen yeah, and or what already happened for him he's like a mental patient and brad pitt is also a mental patient and, um, everyone's kind of crazy. Apparently you're not supposed to use that word anymore crazy crazy.

Speaker 1:

You're not supposed to call someone crazy I, I have a I have a song on my playlist, so now I have to delete it or do a cover with a nicer word yeah, no, I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Okay, that's just what I heard. I don't know anything. I, I don, I don't know, I don't know. Okay, that's just what I heard.

Speaker 1:

I don't know anything. I don't mind the word crazy.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but that's all I have for you.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

What does it have to do with 12 Monkeys? It was a group.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Of people who called themselves 12 Monkeys and that's it. Yeah, did I like this movie? I don't know. I mean, I'm not gonna say it was a bad movie. I don't think it was a favorite bruce willis movie, though no it wasn't as funny as others you thought.

Speaker 1:

You thought it would be really stupid it sounds like a stupid movie yeah, a stupid funny movie yeah but it wasn't even that no, it wasn't kind of a what? How would you?

Speaker 2:

describe it yeah, dramatic, like gloomy uh bleak confusing I would say it's, it's it goes back and forth between things and like I never know which time he's in, and I just I felt like I was constantly wondering what was going on.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, that was that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what did?

Speaker 2:

you think.

Speaker 1:

No, I mean it's not a favorite of mine either, but I still thought I would add it to the list because it's 12. Yeah and yeah, it's an okay movie, not a favorite, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what else.

Speaker 1:

I mean he doesn't save the day in this movie. What he doesn't save the day in this movie, what he doesn't save the day in this movie.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I thought you said he doesn't save they. It's like how do you know? Were you keeping track? He doesn't save the day. No, he doesn't.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Which, I mean, is kind of refreshing in a way.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I mean it's not as predictable true in that kind of way, and now we're talking spoilers here. But yeah, I don't know if you want to.

Speaker 2:

That's about as far as I'm gonna go is that he doesn't save the day. I'm not gonna say, I'm not gonna tell you what happens in the end.

Speaker 1:

No, exactly, brad pitt is really weird in this one, but he's's kind of funny, though it was kind of funny. Yeah, that's it. I think about this movie.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we should have more Brad Pitt movies. Yeah, I'm sure we do, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I know one.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Seven.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I told you about that one.

Speaker 2:

Sorry.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, at some point it's gonna happen Okay.

Speaker 2:

Would you like to tell me about the Pirate?

Speaker 1:

Yes, the Pirate. It's a movie with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly and this movie is about. So Judy Garland plays a lady who's about to marry the mayor, right and um, but she really dreams about, uh, and a pirate, a parrot. She really dreams about a parrot, no, a pirate, pirate, uh, does it? Do I say it right?

Speaker 1:

yeah I do good, um, and uh, yeah. And then uh, um, gene kelly comes in and he's an actor and he hypnotizes judy. Um, and I don't know what. Why does he do that? Because it's fun. Yeah, I don't remember. Um, are you gonna give away the resume? It? I don't know. And he's not the pirate.

Speaker 2:

He's an actor. He just wants her to fall in love with him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he likes her very much. He likes all the women, but especially her.

Speaker 2:

Of course.

Speaker 1:

Yes, or I mean all the pretty ladies.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Not the older ladies. He doesn't care too much about them, it's just the younger, beautiful ladies that he's interested in. I noticed that during his song about the ninjas.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the ninjas song.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he calls the ladies ninjas Ninja. Okay. So yeah, I like this movie better than the Bruce Willis movie. It's funny. It's not my favorite of Gene Kelly or Judy Garland, but it doesn't have the best songs. They do sing some songs, but surprisingly few.

Speaker 2:

Surprisingly few yeah, there could have been more.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was thinking like in the beginning it felt like they didn't sing at all and I'm like isn't this supposed to be a musical?

Speaker 2:

but with gene kelly it seems like it's more dancing than singing it is, but I'm I'm really big fan of his dancing though um it looks like a lot of work yeah I can only imagine what their heart rate is at.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, in the middle yeah, and I mean the to, to nail the choreo choreography. That good, that well, uh must have taken a long time yeah but so I really admire that. It's really cool to see, um, but yeah, it's not a fave, maybe a favorite, but it's not. Uh, I don't dislike the movie either. Um, so what do you think about this movie?

Speaker 2:

movie um, I thought it was kind of funny that she, you know, as a grown woman is fantasizing about pirates yeah I thought that was kind of funny and I mean, yeah, both of them have a really good performance or do whatever. I'm not correcting myself, no, I don't feel like it.

Speaker 1:

It's okay, you can do some mistakes for once.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm going to make mistakes.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I shouldn't be the only one who makes mistakes around here.

Speaker 2:

No, you're right. So yeah, there was that, and I don't think this was a favorite either.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Although it was funny.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And it was entertaining. It wasn't a favorite.

Speaker 1:

No, but I also think that this is going to be our last movie with Gene Kelly for a while now. I still think it's a pretty good send-off to his movies. I really like his movies, but yes, yes, this wasn't the best one. And did you enjoy any of the songs?

Speaker 2:

the the pirate song. Well, judy garland's okay pirate song I enjoyed because that's the only one that I can think of right now. Okay, and it stuck out, I guess yeah, I.

Speaker 1:

I like I said I wasn't the biggest fan of the songs, but, uh, since it has like the song that sounds like make them laugh from singing in the rain. Be a clown, was it? That's what it was called in this movie, I have to go with that one because it made me think about Make Him Laugh and I really like that song All right, yeah, would you like to take a break? Yes.

Speaker 2:

Okay, let's take a break, then We'll be right back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, see ya.

Speaker 2:

Hello and welcome back.

Speaker 1:

You are welcome back. Thank you, you're welcome.

Speaker 2:

Let's see, Matias, what are we doing today?

Speaker 1:

Did we decide on anything?

Speaker 2:

Well, I think I have something Okay. Okay, you know you're losing your job. Right, that's not a good thing, probably Very likely. Okay, you know you're losing your job right. That's not a good thing?

Speaker 1:

Probably, very likely, yeah, so that is a bad thing.

Speaker 2:

That is a bad thing, and I'm sure there's other people in the world who can relate.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

At least 128 people can relate at the moment.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, hmm, soon Specifically, yes, soon, we're Soon Specifically, yes, soon, we're going to be more.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm going to help out the people of the world.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And with focused on you, but with focus on you.

Speaker 1:

With focused on you.

Speaker 2:

That's exactly what I said.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then I corrected myself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but you shouldn't do that.

Speaker 2:

No, I shouldn't, but what we're going to do today is we're going to help you choose a career path.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so I asked OpenEyes to help me choose a career path, and what information do you need? We're going to go through the information and I'm going to fill it out as we go. Okay, and then at the end, hopefully we have something you could be interested in doing.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

It may be spot on, it might be a complete mess.

Speaker 1:

Mess.

Speaker 2:

Or a huge mess. There could be some drama.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And that's what we're here for. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay. So let's see To help choose a career path. We need to understand a few things about your preferences, skills and goals. Okay, so, number one what are your interests and passions? What activities, subjects or hobbies do you enjoy, and are there fields you're naturally curious about or spend a lot of time thinking about?

Speaker 1:

That is a good question.

Speaker 2:

Thank you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, did you come up with that all by yourself? I?

Speaker 2:

did. I said that Open Eyes came up with it, but it was actually me, because I didn't want the credit.

Speaker 1:

No, I know you. I know you know Okay, so I'm pretty sure you know what I'm going to answer. Go ahead. Yes, movies, I like movies. And what was the question?

Speaker 2:

What activities, subjects or hobbies do you enjoy?

Speaker 1:

Yes, that's movies. I enjoy movies. I love watching them. I enjoy movies, I love watching them. I would like to try to do something myself. I have done some editing and I enjoy that. Okay, is that a good answer? I think so.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, number two we're going to talk about your skills and strengths. What are your key strengths, as in like problem solving, creativity, communication, for example? So your strengths, and do you have technical skills, artistic talent or leadership qualities that you want to build on? Do you have anything you want to better improve?

Speaker 1:

Yes, I understood, okay, but I don't know.

Speaker 2:

What are your strengths?

Speaker 1:

My strengths. I'm strong. No, I Okay my biceps.

Speaker 2:

Right With that one kilo. Yeah, that you keep lifting. Yeah, yeah, right With that one kilo yeah. That you keep lifting.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, you seen that.

Speaker 2:

I saw it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, You're so buff.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you saw me open the jar today.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay, whatever I wasn't even struggling. Whatever, I didn't ask about the jar, I asked about the weights.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

What are you good at?

Speaker 1:

What am I good at? I know movies, I know. I mean, can it be good at whatever or what?

Speaker 2:

In general.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so my best quality is that I'm a hard worker. I do, but I don't know if that's a good answer or not.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but you're creative.

Speaker 1:

I am, I am creative. Oh, I love being creative. I mean you can be, we can or we could be more creative before in our work as well, especially while working out in Excel. That could be really creative, and I like being creative with those.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, that's a sidetrack you don't have.

Speaker 2:

So, do you have any technical skills, artistic talent or leadership qualities that you want to build on? Do you have things that you want to build on? Do you have things that you want to improve?

Speaker 1:

Do I.

Speaker 2:

Are you asking me?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

How am I? I don't think I can answer this for you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, how am I supposed to answer that?

Speaker 2:

You know yourself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't really know the question, I don't get.

Speaker 2:

What like? What quality would you like to improve?

Speaker 1:

Like your skills and stuff.

Speaker 2:

I mean maybe that or like that you want to take advantage of within your work.

Speaker 1:

My work now. For your next career For your career, I mean, for I would like to explore new programs. Are you talking about editing?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Okay, number three is values and priorities. So what matters most to you in a career? Is it work-life balance, high salary, helping others, creativity, job security?

Speaker 1:

What matters most to you, I mean the creativity, and a good salary is also needed. It doesn't have to be like the highest, but at least so I can you know.

Speaker 2:

Survive, survive At least. Yeah, do you have long-term goals, so like if you would think, maybe five years from now, where do you think you would be or what would you expect from your job?

Speaker 1:

Right now I don't think like that, so I or maybe the security would feel good. Yeah, I mean it would be nice to have like a steady job, and yeah, I mean it would be nice to have like a steady job and yeah, security.

Speaker 2:

What about hours? Do you want the same hours every day, or does it matter?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, same hours would be good.

Speaker 2:

Number four is educational background and experience. So what is your educational background? I only have the grundskola. Yeah, I'm gonna write high school.

Speaker 1:

Okay and uh, I mean I started the uh electric thing but I never finished that I didn't.

Speaker 2:

How long were you actually there?

Speaker 1:

I was there for like uh, all the years, but I didn't really finish the thing.

Speaker 2:

The electrician thing? Yeah, yeah, but how long was that?

Speaker 1:

Three years, I mean, I was two years at one school. Then that school Crashed, shut down.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And so I finished the third year at another school. So it's three years. But I didn't study enough and I never. I wasn't that interested in being an electrician.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Um. Have you had any work experience or internships in specific fields?

Speaker 1:

Um.

Speaker 2:

Practique or something.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

It's just warehouse.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, warehouse I've been. Uh, what would you say, uh, carny. Oh yeah, you worked for the just warehouse. Yeah, warehouse I've been. What would you say, carny?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, you worked for the carnival.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but that's not really official, but still it's experience of some kind.

Speaker 2:

Number five personality and working style. Do you prefer working in a team or independently?

Speaker 1:

Um, I mean, I guess I like more independently, but it also depends on the team.

Speaker 2:

Right Very much. Do you enjoy structured environment or are you more comfortable with flexibility and creativity?

Speaker 1:

I don't know. I mean, I did say that I wanted, like the, you know, more like hours, the same hours.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But at the same time the flexibility sounds very good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's kind of how I work when I do what I like doing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That I don't make any money off.

Speaker 2:

Okay, number six, this is the last one location and lifestyle. Are you tied to a particular location, um, or do you want a career that allows remote work, travel or a certain lifestyle? I think that would you rather stay in the area, or would you be willing to travel a bit?

Speaker 1:

I would like to stay in the area because I don't know, I'm not like the person who travels a lot. Enjoy that.

Speaker 2:

What about working at home? Would you be interested in that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that sounds good.

Speaker 2:

All right, now we are going to help, or try to help, suggest potential career paths that align with your profile. Are you ready?

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's really hot. You should kill yourself.

Speaker 2:

You know what? You're just screwed. Just give up, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Hopeless. There's a knife right there, oh my.

Speaker 2:

God, all right. Okay, matias, based on the information you've shared, it seems you're strongly drawn to the creative and technical side of film and media, particularly editing. Yeah, you also want a balance of creativity, job security, a good salary and flexibility, possibly with remote work options.

Speaker 1:

With a remote. With a remote.

Speaker 2:

You want to watch?

Speaker 1:

TV for the rest of your life.

Speaker 2:

Let's explore some career paths. Number one video editor or film editor. That sounds good for you, yeah, so why this would fit? This role blends your interest in movies and editing with your creativity. Film editors work on editing raw footage to create compelling stories for movies, tv shows or online content. It involves using editing software which fits with your desire to explore new programs, so the example softwares was Adobe Premiere, final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I'm guessing you've heard of all of them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've heard of them, but I think they cost.

Speaker 2:

Yes, well, sometimes the cost is worth it and if you work freelance or something, eventually, or I mean, it could probably pay for itself at some point.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Depending on the cost and how much you charge. There is a growing demand for video content in entertainment, advertising, social media and corporate training, which means job security and steady work hours are more feasible. Many editors work freelance or remotely for a company. Editors work freelance or remotely for company. To get started, you may need to take online courses or certification programs to learn video editing software, create a portfolio and possibly start with freelance work to gain experience. I think that would be good for you. Two content creator, video or a YouTube channel manager. That's a thing. If you enjoy being creative with video, you could create and manage content for YouTube channels or social media. This involves editing, brainstorming ideas, managing posts and even learning about analytics. It's a field that values creativity and film knowledge. While building a personal channel or managing one for a company can take time, there is potential for good income through ad sponsorship or working for a brand. How's this one sounding so far?

Speaker 1:

It sounds interesting.

Speaker 2:

Okay, this role is very flexible and can be done remotely. Okay, this role is very flexible and can be done remotely. To get started, you should probably learn video production, editing and possibly some social media management. You could also start by creating your own channel or collaborating with others.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

How many did it come up with? Okay, five, and I'm on three. Post-production specialist. This career focuses on the technical side of editing, such as color correction, sound editing and special effects.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

It requires creativity and attention to detail, and the use of advanced software fits with your desire to explore new programs. Um, post-production specialists are in demand in film, tv and advertising, offering good salary potential and jobs ability. Yeah, could be good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean I, I don't know about that one. I'm not because I mean I don't know if I have a good eye for those. I don't know. You know what was it Color?

Speaker 2:

Correction.

Speaker 1:

I really don't know that.

Speaker 2:

I think that's something that you learn as you go.

Speaker 1:

I guess I know. I mean, I know what I like, but maybe most people likes it another way.

Speaker 2:

Maybe, Then you just do as they say pretty much. Yeah, many post-production roles offer the opportunity to work from home and to get started, learn industry standard software like DaVinci Resolve for color grading and Adobe After Effects for special effects For color grading and Adobe After Effects for special effects Building a portfolio by working on smaller projects is a good way to start. Number four Film archivist. Archivist Archivist.

Speaker 1:

I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Or film restoration specialist.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Am I saying anything right?

Speaker 1:

Yes, the last part was right, specialist.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, am I saying anything right?

Speaker 1:

Yes, the last part was right. Okay, specialist, yes, okay, you got that. That was the only word that I got right, yeah.

Speaker 2:

If you love film, history and trivia, becoming a film archivist. I don't know or restoration specialist could be an interesting blend of that knowledge with technical skills. It involves preserving, restoring and archiving classic films for future generations, often with a focus on creativity and detail.

Speaker 1:

That would be really cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it sounds very advanced.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it does, but oh my goodness, it sounds interesting.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah it does, but oh my goodness, it sounds interesting. Yeah, while niche, this field can offer job security within film studios, museums or archives. Some tasks may allow remote work, although especially Ugh, that wasn't even close, that's not even in the sentence, although working with physical film may require being on site.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 2:

To get started, you might need specialized training in film restoration techniques, which can be gained through targeted programs or internships in the field. The last one, number five, is media asset manager. Media asset managers organize, catalog and manage video, film and other digital media for companies, especially in the film and television industry. Your attention to film trivia and hardworking nature would help with managing large media libraries. It involves some creativity, but more on the technical and organizational side. That was a lot of words, did you get anything.

Speaker 1:

I just said Some of it Okay, most of it.

Speaker 2:

It's a form of manager in medium. I was reading it, but I wasn't collecting the words.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I feel like the first two felt more like me and I feel like the first two felt more like me. The fourth one was really interesting, but I don't think I would be any good at it.

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

That's something you have to work up to yeah, exactly, that's not the first thing.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, let me finish this up. There is a demand in studios, news agencies and production companies. It offers job stability and good salary potential and, depending on the company, this can sometimes be done remotely. To get started, learn media management software and gaining experience in media libraries would be helpful. It's a path that combines organization with your interest in film.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

All right. So your next steps? Okay, okay, you have four steps to take. Skill development Consider taking courses in video editing and post production. And then it gives examples of websites.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So take some courses. It could be good for you.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Two portfolio. Start building a portfolio by working on small video projects. Take a look at your YouTube channel. Even volunteering to edit short films or personal video projects can help. Three is networking the hardest part. Connect with professionals in the industry through social media or online forums related to video editing and post-production. And then four is freelancing. You can begin as a freelancer while gaining experience and transitioning to more steady work with companies that offer remote roles.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, what did we have here? We have video editor or film content creator or YouTube channel manager, post-production specialist, film archivist or film restoration specialist or media asset manager.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I still think that the first two feels more, more you yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you could be a YouTube channel manager. Yeah, you already. More you, yeah, yeah you could be a YouTube channel manager. Yeah, you already do that, yeah, so why not I?

Speaker 1:

don't know, I don't make any money off it, but it's not, no, no no, no, and I don't expect me to make any money out of my channel, since I don't own anything.

Speaker 2:

Right, yeah, that would be kind of wrong, yeah, maybe.

Speaker 1:

I just do that for fun and maybe you know, so other people can enjoy if they do.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it would be. You have material for a portfolio at least.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So there's, that.

Speaker 1:

That too.

Speaker 2:

Are we doing this for me too, or is it just you? I think we should do it for you as well. Are we doing this for?

Speaker 1:

me too, or is?

Speaker 2:

it just you.

Speaker 1:

I think we should do it for you as well, are we?

Speaker 2:

done here, all right, my turn.

Speaker 1:

Okay, number one interests and passions. What activities, subjects or hobbies do you enjoy? Are there fields you're naturally curious about or spend a lot of time thinking about?

Speaker 2:

I've been very focused on one thing for the past couple of days.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

But really I'm all over the place because well, I do the gymnastics right.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

And what was it?

Speaker 1:

Are there fields? You're naturally curious. That was the second question. What activities, subjects or hobbies do you enjoy?

Speaker 2:

I mean the gymnastics, the podcast. What else do I like? That's all I really focus on, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, or I think so.

Speaker 2:

And films of course. Films and music, music, what else? What do I like? Pretending to be smarter than I actually am? No, you don't have to add that, but I mean, that's a pretty good list.

Speaker 1:

I think Do you like writing? No, I don't write that much anymore or reading. No.

Speaker 2:

I'm a listener.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, listening no.

Speaker 2:

Next.

Speaker 1:

Two Skills and strengths. What are your key strengths, For example, problem solving, creativity, communication. Do you have technical skills, artistic talent or leadership qualities that you want to build on?

Speaker 2:

I think I could make a good leader. I already lead gymnastics.

Speaker 1:

Good leader. Ice cream, ice cream.

Speaker 2:

I like to lead the ice cream.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Creativity is my thing.

Speaker 1:

Creative.

Speaker 2:

And like organization.

Speaker 1:

With an S.

Speaker 2:

Does it not help you there?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think so, okay Maybe.

Speaker 2:

Whatever, it's fine, I'm sure. Yeah, I like to do the technical stuff. I guess Just technical stuff, administrative stuff, Admin. Admin. Yeah, I'm an office person.

Speaker 1:

Admin stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's fine. I think it'll get that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, next. Next question Three Values and priorities. What matters most to you in a career, for example, work-life balance, high salary, helping others, creativity, job security? What are your long-term goals?

Speaker 2:

Um all of the above.

Speaker 1:

All of the above.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I want all of them my long-term goals to do something that I actually enjoy doing. I don't want to wake up every day and just like hate going to work. You know. I don't want to feel like I'm living or, yeah, working for the weekend. You know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 1:

Good, that is a good, that is a good, good, good, good. Stop laughing at me. Educational background and experience. Number four was that oh gosh, what is your educational background? Have you had any work experience or internships in specific fields? Oh, so many big words and I nailed them all.

Speaker 2:

You did. That was really good. Okay, so I finished high school.

Speaker 1:

Finished high school Fishing. I did not do fishing in high school. I did not even go fishing for high school Finished high school Fishing.

Speaker 2:

I did not do fishing in high school. I did not even go fishing for high schools. I managed at least one month of film school but had to drop out.

Speaker 1:

That's cool. I've never done anything like that.

Speaker 2:

My experience Retail.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Warehouse, food and cleaning services, building websites, podcast managing, because that's what I do. I'm also really good at math. I don't think that counts, that's it.

Speaker 1:

That's all I'm putting there.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I was also an assistant director. Should I add that that's one of my favorite jobs, Unfortunately very temporary.

Speaker 1:

Yes, Number five personality and working style.

Speaker 2:

I'm weird.

Speaker 1:

Do you prefer working in a team or independently? Do you enjoy structured environments or are you more comfortable with the flexibility and creativity I can do both in a team and independently.

Speaker 2:

That's a good answer.

Speaker 1:

I just picked one of them. Yeah, I want structured with creativity. I don't exactly know what that is, but that's what I'm going with. Okay, number six, last one. Number six Last one Location and lifestyle. Are you tied to a particular location? Do you want a career that allows remote work, travel or a certain lifestyle? I thought you were laughing.

Speaker 2:

That was funny. I need something to support me being a mom, um, so I would prefer yeah, same as you, um, either remote or, uh, nearby, not too far away. Let's find out what I'm going to be when I grow up.

Speaker 1:

Cool.

Speaker 2:

Okay, because it's coming quickly.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I have to grow up really soon.

Speaker 1:

I'm an adult.

Speaker 2:

I have six months to transform into an adult, so the pressure is on. Yeah, same with you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and after those six months we can say we're adults. Yeah, I'm an adult. That's what I'm going to say.

Speaker 2:

On your last day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, finally, are you ready for? My results yes, okay. Here are a few career paths that might align with my interests, skills and priorities. Okay, so, number one creative direction or production in media. Your interest in films, music and podcasting, combined with your leadership and creative skills, make this a natural fit. Having experience as an assistant director shows you're familiar with the production progress process.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god do you want me to read it?

Speaker 2:

I think you would do better than me. I've read so much already. Uh, you're familiar with the production process. You could explore roles like creative director for media projects like films, podcasts, music videos. Music videos could be fun.

Speaker 2:

I've done those I well, yeah, no, like music video, like, yeah, but yes, yes, um producer in film, podcasting or music content creator or youtuber, which was what I wanted to begin with. Um around your interests in film, music or lifestyle. Many roles in media production, especially podcasting or YouTube content, can be done remotely. Two digital marketing and social media management. Your creative yeah, your creativity, organizational skills and technical know-how could thrive in digital marketing. You can manage social media accounts, create marketing campaigns and build a brand's digital presence, like podcast marketing, managing and promoting podcasts perhaps your own or others, like I have to.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Social media manager helping brands or influencers grow online, which I don't do that much, but kind of. Seo or content strategy, if you enjoy writing or strategizing. This could involve managing content for websites, blogs and social platforms, which I don't do so much anymore. Digital marketing and social media management are highly remote friendly. Okay, three project management in creative or technical fields, which is what I've been focusing on lately is the project management thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so this might be where I'm going. Let's see. You're organized, a natural leader and comfortable with technical aspects. Project management allows you to combine structure with creativity while overseeing various projects, especially in industries like tech, film production or podcasting. A film or media project manager would be overseeing schedules, budgets and teams for creative projects, and a tech or website project manager would be managing teams building websites, apps or creative tech projects.

Speaker 1:

Okay, Sounds very familiar.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, many project management roles offer remote options, especially in tech or digital fields. Let's see. Number four is entrepreneurship or freelance work in media or admin services. All right, you already have experience with podcast managing and building websites. You could offer freelance services or start your own business, such as a virtual assistant Offering administrative support remotely, using your organization and technical skills, a podcast producer or editor Yay, doing things that I already do.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Managing or editing podcasts for other creators? Yeah, Okay. Freelance website designer or manager. Hey, I already did that Building and maintaining websites for clients. Very exciting work. Freelancing offers full remote flexibility. Okay, you know that one. Yes remote flexibility, flexibility, okay, you know that one yes and the chance to balance your career with being a mom, mom, mom mom number five event planning and coordination.

Speaker 2:

you have great organization and leadership skills, which are critical in event management. If you enjoy planning and logistics, event coordination can be a creative and flexible career, such as corporate event planner I would mess this up so bad, so much pressure Planning business events, conferences or team-building activities. Also, creative event producer focus on film or music related events, karaoke, woo. While this role involves some in-person work, much of the planning can be done remotely or close to home. So my next stepsore short courses or certifications.

Speaker 1:

What was that? What the last word?

Speaker 2:

Certifications.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

To refine your skills in areas like project management, like PMP certification. Digital marketing what?

Speaker 1:

PMP.

Speaker 2:

I'm a project manager. Oh God, we just made that song so boring. Digital marketing or podcast production Look into online courses, yay. Bill number two is build a portfolio. It's very similar to yours. If you go into digital media or freelancing, start creating work samples like websites, podcasts or social media accounts. Look, I have all of these things to showcase your skills. Three is networking. Reach out to contacts from your film school. Who's that?

Speaker 1:

I don't remember anyone.

Speaker 2:

I know I met people. I don't remember who they are.

Speaker 1:

You know we met for a month. Yeah know, I met people. I don't remember who they are. You know we met for a month.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we talked once. Remember that time I was there for a month.

Speaker 2:

Contacts from film school or the podcasting world. Linkedin can be useful for this. And four, look into remote-friendly companies. Explore job boards like WeWorkRemotely, remoteco or FlexJobs for roles in digital marketing, project management or media production. I am still really interested in the project management part, so that's probably what I would want to go towards. I mean, yeah, I could go back into the website stuff, but I don't know. I think I want to branch out into something else, more film-related or just general projects. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I really want to do something film related, but I don't have much experience.

Speaker 2:

We're going to fix this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

We're going to do some research.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And in six months we will be adults and ready to join the adult world. Yeah, because we'll be fully loaded with all of our experience and education and everything's going to be good. Yes, yes, yes, and we're also going to be super fit at the same time.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

Matias.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

How are you feeling about this episode?

Speaker 1:

It feels good.

Speaker 2:

It feels good. Yes. Do you feel confident about the future now.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

All right.

Speaker 1:

And I, I don't know. Last time I felt confident. It bited me in the butt.

Speaker 2:

Yes, but this is a different direction.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Okay, we're trying to stay positive in this very dark time. Would you like to wrap this up?

Speaker 1:

Uh yeah.

Speaker 2:

All right, Awesome, but first please tell me other than losing your job.

Speaker 1:

what is ruining your life right now? Right now, I was too confident, thinking that I would keep my job, but it really looks like I'm not going to get to keep my job.

Speaker 2:

So being naive is ruining your life.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's for the entire week and it's been such a long week.

Speaker 2:

It has been a long sucky week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and what's ruining your life?

Speaker 2:
