Speaker 1:

in a world where everything is unscripted. This is roasty, toasty ghost are you good yes, are you here? Uh, yeah, are you sleeping, maybe not good can't do that? No, no, we will have to do something about that. Mm-hmm, I'm going to have to wake you up, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Before you go-go yeah. Because I don't plan on doing the solo.

Speaker 1:

No, that's true. Okay, you're not going to have to do this solo.

Speaker 2:

Thank you. I'm going to find another person who can do this with me so I can sleep. There must be someone out there who wants to do this with me. Would you like to host a podcast with me?

Speaker 1:

no one wants to host a podcast with me.

Speaker 2:

Matthias has to sleep he always wants to sleep and I'm usually the one falling asleep during the recordings. Are you ready?

Speaker 1:

okay, is it my turn?

Speaker 2:

I think so should we open okay, cheers, so good yeah, I deserve that me too.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to roasty toasty ghosty. My name is matthias and I'm mauren yeah, and we will be your friends for maybe an hour-ish. Ish yeah, oh yeah. This is a very good podcast. I forgot to say that.

Speaker 2:

This is a very good podcast. Please listen to it. Yeah, you do that.

Speaker 1:

You usually say it's the greatest podcast ever.

Speaker 2:

It's the best. Okay, yeah, you don't agree.

Speaker 1:

There's better ones. I mean, it's good enough, all right, this is a good enough for now. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

If you have nothing else to listen, to listen to this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm just trying to be humble. Okay, is that okay? That's okay, what else do I have to say?

Speaker 2:

I am very excited to be here.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

And how are you?

Speaker 1:

I'm tired but still excited.

Speaker 2:

Good.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna wake up a little bit now that I had my energy drink. Yes. Yeah, and what else do we usually say before we start talking about the week? Or do you want to start talking about the week right now, or do you have anything else you want to say? I mean, you can start talking whenever you want to. I can keep going. Probably I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say or do, but I will keep talking, uh, as long as you're quiet.

Speaker 2:

So you want to keep going? Yeah, I, can you have anything else?

Speaker 1:

I don't have anything to talk about, but I can still just you know say words. That's what I do mostly when I'm talking. I usually just say words and sometimes I form them into like a sentence and I never I haven't so far said like a period or anything, Like you know.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you don't say that. No, I don't Question mark. No, I don't.

Speaker 1:

Question mark no Exclamation mark Is that?

Speaker 2:

I think it's a point.

Speaker 1:

Point.

Speaker 2:

Exclamation point.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, yes, Not just point, that's a point.

Speaker 2:

Exclamation point.

Speaker 1:

That's a point.

Speaker 2:

Is it a point or a mark?

Speaker 1:

Well, maybe a point. Is it a point or a mark?

Speaker 2:

well, maybe you've got a question mark, you've got an exclamation I don't know I'm questioning everything what is life?

Speaker 1:

even question mark, I don't know, but um comma, comma comma, comma, comma, comma, commaleon.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, I've had a good week, I guess.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah let's talk about our week instead. Oh, do you want to go first? Okay, well, let's see what happened. On, on, on. What happened on Saturday.

Speaker 2:

Saturday, saturday, oh.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, that's good. I like that one.

Speaker 2:

Every day should have a song saturday. What did we do on saturday? Well, I didn't have to teach gymnastics, no, so we went to the gym and we did gym things and I brought sick child and my other big kids to uh an indoor playground, I guess in a way yeah, I I've never been there, so I don't know, okay, well, it's just a big playground inside and um, for sick child's birthday, which was on halloween the th, yeah, and we played and it was all fun and yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then we went to McDonald's and I got a vanilla latte. I hadn't eaten anything all day. Okay. I had been running off of coffee the entire time, but yeah, because I think I might have gained some weight from the evening before. Yeah, so I was trying to reset, I guess in a way, I did eat a salad later and it was really good. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that was my Saturday.

Speaker 1:

Very exciting. I didn't do anything. Probably Maybe some editing.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and then Sunday happened and we went for a walk, yeah, in the dark, we did. We also went to the nearby city before yes, you went with me to bring my daughter to her gymnastics class yeah and we uh did my grocery shopping. Yeah. And then we picked her up and we went to a store. Yeah. And you got me a Christmas present.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yes, I did.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and that was the point of you coming with me yeah. We didn't even use it today.

Speaker 1:

No, we didn't. Next week we have to use it, or during the break maybe. Oh, yeah, why not?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, it's a what water? Boiler thing, a tea kettle in a way.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it boils water for my tea yeah, and it's so cool, it turns blue. And when?

Speaker 2:

it's on. Yeah it the there's a blue light yeah and it's very cool and it has like a, a pad that it sits on yeah and then you can lift it and carry it away. Yeah, very cool, I do like it, and so then I felt like I had to give you your christmas present early as well yes and what did you get I? I got a t-shirt that says big fun yeah, on it from heathers yeah that's what the fat girl, yeah, was wearing the um reference from that movie, heathers.

Speaker 1:

I like heathers it was a good movie yeah, and I made a video of that movie.

Speaker 2:

You did.

Speaker 1:

That people should check out because it hasn't gotten a lot of views. Aw. And not the Beetlejuice either. So if people have you know time over, just go to the Action Master on YouTube and check those videos out.

Speaker 2:

You should do that.

Speaker 1:

Hmm.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and we went for a walk, yes, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And we went for a walk. Yes, on Sunday we went for a walk in the dark.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it was interesting. It was interesting, it was an adventure.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't scary as in you know spooky, but it was.

Speaker 2:

I didn't feel like I was going to die, no, but you couldn't see where you put your feet. Yeah, that's the scariest part. You couldn't see anything and it was windy like crazy.

Speaker 1:

So I don't know. We're probably not going to take that road this year.

Speaker 2:

For the rest of the year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we'll take a forest trail this week.

Speaker 1:

Unless we can take the road in the middle of the day at some point.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so yeah, that was Sunday and then Monday happened.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's just days back to work. Yeah, a day back to work. Nothing fun happening there.

Speaker 2:

No, I feel like things happen this week. I think, at least for me. At work no, not really at work, but like personally, I think, if we skip over Monday, because I don't think anything actually happened on Monday- no. Things don't usually happen on Mondays.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

But on Tuesday I started feeling really weird. No, no, yeah, because I could only half see, and so I was freaking out a little bit, but eventually it got better. But I started getting a headache behind my other eye which started spreading towards the back of my head, and so I was thinking, okay, I'm gonna get a migraine now. So that's cool. But I don't think I really got a migraine, it was just a headache.

Speaker 2:

And then later that evening I kind of had a breakdown. I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself over my weight and the things I consume and everything and I got really frustrated because my favorite thing ever is eating. I love to eat everything, but when I'm trying to be good I can't do that. So I got frustrated and I ate a ton of stuff. And then I felt bad for myself because I had eaten a ton of stuff and yeah, I had a breakdown.

Speaker 2:

I had a stress breakdown. Yeah, I had a breakdown. I had a stress breakdown. And did anything happen for you on Tuesday?

Speaker 1:

I don't remember. Actually, I don't think so. Okay, I think this has been just a boring week.

Speaker 2:

Well, after my breakdown, I came out on the other side. I felt better and I didn't eat anything for 24 hours.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But I mean, maybe for anyone it sounds like torture, but it wasn't that bad. No, because around like hour 22, I started feeling really good, like I was pretty much running off of my own energy or what Not energy.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, I know what you mean, but I don't.

Speaker 2:

I felt very good, I was very alert and I had energy and I I was happy, yeah, and then I went home.

Speaker 1:

we did overtime, oh, that was wednesday and we didn't go to the gym.

Speaker 2:

We did overtime instead.

Speaker 1:

Right, yes, we did overtime. I did overtime on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm, yeah, okay, so I went home and I ate food and I got really full. Yeah. But I felt good. Still, I didn't put myself down for eating too much yeah, I did not eat too much, but I ate what I intended to eat. And then I was good, I was happy and yesterday was Thursday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I was good yesterday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, happy. Yeah, and yesterday was thursday. Yeah, I was good yesterday. Yeah, that's where you only went to work for a couple of hours yeah, three hours.

Speaker 2:

I worked for three hours and then I left. I went to get a magnet x-ray wait three hours seven, eight, nine, two hours. Yeah, I worked for two hours and then I went and got a magnet x-ray, yeah, and that was an experience okay, yeah, it was fun, you said it was fun.

Speaker 2:

it was not a normal x-ray like I had expected it to be, because I got to the hospital and I was like, oh, x-ray, I know where the x-ray section or department is. And so I went there and I looked up my like little receipt that said where I was supposed to go and I was like I cannot find my waiting room here. It was in a completely different area. So I got a good walk in at least, and like Christopher.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I got a good walk in thein the good one, yeah, not the bad ones, but he was a good guy, uh, anyway, yeah, like this department was way in the basement okay of the hospital and, um, yeah, I went in and she's like you're going to have to take off your clothes Not all of my clothes, but most of them and I was like, okay, usually I just have to take off my pants.

Speaker 1:

And she's like no reason.

Speaker 2:

No reason, just do it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, don't ask questions.

Speaker 2:

No, like usually, I only have to take off my pants, but okay. I mean I usually.

Speaker 1:

Not now no.

Speaker 2:

This is off my pants, but um, okay, I mean I usually not now. No, this is fine, she's like you're gonna have to take off your jewelry and anything metal on you like, um, okay, okay, that's fine. And yeah, I put all my stuff in my lock in a locker and there was. We went into the room and it was a big machine. It was like one of those big tubes. You lay, lay on the bed and it shoots you. It shoots you. No, wait no.

Speaker 1:

It pushes you.

Speaker 2:

You go into the tube, you lay on the bed and it brings you into the tube. Yeah, and I was not expecting this at all, whatsoever. Okay.

Speaker 2:

She's like you're going to have to lay completely still the entire time. I was like the entire time. I was like how long is this supposed to take? Ah, 20, 25 minutes. Like oh, this is not a normal x-ray, not at all. So I did that, I went into the tube and I laid really still and I fell asleep and it was so nice. I got headphones. She's like do you want to listen to music? And I was like okay, fine, I'll listen to music. She's like you want to listen to anything? I was like I like anything. And what played on the headphones was mostly advertisements. I think it was supposed to be a radio station, but I swear there were. There were advertisements like the entire time maybe. I listened to three songs throughout the 20, 25 minutes yeah, but I was pretty much trying to sleep anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2:

And then we finished up. She was like are you okay in there? I was like oh my god, I'm fine. She's like okay, I'm going to take you out now.

Speaker 1:

Like okay, so that's when she shot you, that's when she shot me?

Speaker 2:

No, I never got shot, but I got out and I was like I should do this more often, like that was really nice, and she laughed at me and she laughed with her colleague. She said she should do this more often I was like yeah, I got a nap. I never relax.

Speaker 1:

Relaxing is not something I do then you came back with a fake mustache on and like hello I'm here for my x-ray. Yeah, I'm a, I'm lawrence I'm a completely different person.

Speaker 2:

My name is lawrence larry, larry, larry my name is larry, uh, so yeah, I did that, and then I went right home right home I went straight home not gay home. You're funny, I am, you are hilarious.

Speaker 2:

But usually when I go into the city I will stop somewhere and get something yummy to eat Okay. I did not, that's good, that's good, that's good, that's good, that's good, that's good. That's good, that's good, that's good. That's good, I went home and I ate what I intended to eat for the entire day. I was really good. Good Even when I was home alone, which I cannot be trusted home alone, because I eat everything.

Speaker 1:

But I didn't. That's so weird because it's not the same. It's the opposite for me, Really. Yeah, when I have other people at home, they just try to make me eat all those things. When I'm home alone, I can just choose not to eat anything. That's usually because I'm distracted by YouTube.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'll do it. Yeah, but I was really productive at home. I did a whole bunch of stuff and I was good yeah, good yeah. What did you do yesterday?

Speaker 1:

I.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I also went to gymnastics and hurt myself.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

I did backflips, though, and it was fun.

Speaker 1:

It was cool, you sent me a video.

Speaker 2:

I did. Hmm, I was supposed to do two backflips but I landed wrong. Oh, I was supposed to do two backflips but I landed wrong. Oh. So it didn't come out as I wanted it to.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

But it was still fun.

Speaker 1:

But you did two.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I was supposed to do them one after the other.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

But I messed up my landing on the first one. Mm-hmm, so I had to hop back and then do another backflip.

Speaker 1:

Mm Still cool Thank you. I've never done anything like that so Proud of me I am, I was also proud of me. It was too fun, too fun, too fun, yeah. Not good to have too much fun, yeah because then you get hurt.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like you did, like I did my right knee and my left ankle.

Speaker 1:

Yep, yeah.

Speaker 2:

What did you do yesterday Too?

Speaker 1:

fun. Yeah, I didn't do much. I did not work overtime Okay, because I wasn't offered any overtime, but people were working overtime.

Speaker 2:

Hmm, just not you.

Speaker 1:

No, they forgot to tell me about it. Good. So I'm like I'm gonna go home then, so I didn't even clock out.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you forgot.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I forgot to clock out, but I could text my boss and he fixed that. That's good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, today's Friday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It is November 8th Today. We kind of had fun with our lunches, though.

Speaker 1:

We did, we kind of split our.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Or we yeah, we shared our lunches.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I didn't get to eat dinner at home yesterday and I wanted the leftovers for my lunch today and I prepped my lunches throughout the week, so I had a lunch leftover, I actually had two and I have one for tomorrow, which I will probably eat tomorrow.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so we shared, we did.

Speaker 2:

You got my salad and you made a couple sandwiches and I ate pretty much both of them. Yeah, and my leftover dinner. Yeah. Yeah, it was good.

Speaker 1:

I was happy you have eaten so much today.

Speaker 2:

I have not Not that much. No. No, no, I'm convinced that I have not eaten that much today.

Speaker 1:

So much Are you trying to shame me. No, no, no, I'm just joking with you.

Speaker 2:

Should we give a weight update?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, maybe we should.

Speaker 2:

All right, since last Friday last recording how much have you lost or gained?

Speaker 1:

I lost 0.5 kilograms.

Speaker 2:

Good, I lost 1.4. Yeah, good, I lost 1.4. Yeah, yeah, which is a huge difference from last week, when I said that I had gained 2.9. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's not fun. No, but you're, you're, you know, on a good way back, you're.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's been. You're like halfway back. Halfway.

Speaker 1:

Half.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You're like halfway back.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's been rocky, but it's okay.

Speaker 1:

But you know you love rocky roads.

Speaker 2:

I do, it's a problem.

Speaker 1:

So what else did we do today?

Speaker 2:

Well, since it's Friday, we watched movies.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we did.

Speaker 2:

Would you like to move me on?

Speaker 1:

Let's move me on.

Speaker 2:

All right. Today we watched Bandits and Ted. Not that Ted.

Speaker 1:

This is a Swedish movie.

Speaker 2:

It's a Swedish Ted.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Ted, För kärlekens skull.

Speaker 2:

För kärlekens skull. Yeah, that's right, that's what we watched. Så så, så så.

Speaker 1:

Så, så så watched.

Speaker 2:

So so, so, so, so, so, ted, yeah, so I'm gonna tell you about bandit. Okay, maybe bandits, bandits, yeah, band-aids. This is a movie with I almost said brad pitt, but his name is bruce willis, yeah, or bruce village bruce village is also so stupid. It's an alternative for Bruce Willis. Yeah. If he's listening to this and wants to switch things up, call yourself Bruce Village. So in this movie, bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton are bandits.

Speaker 1:

They are.

Speaker 2:

And they did they come up with this system that they had, yeah, are. And they did they come up with this system that they had, yeah, um they would go to the ceo or manager of the bank. Yeah, and they would pretty much let themselves in and um, pretty much hold the family hostage and sleep over there and go into the bank in the morning and steal the money with the manager there. Yeah, that's what they did.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And they met Cate Blanchett.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And she wanted to do a paint your wagon situation.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And be in a relationship with both of them at the same time yeah everyone seems fine with it, just like in paint your wagon yeah maybe they were inspired.

Speaker 1:

Maybe she's like watch that movie first you'll see, this isn't a big deal.

Speaker 2:

I can have both.

Speaker 1:

Yeah if lee, if Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood can share a lady, then you too can as well.

Speaker 2:

You got it, you can do it. So yeah, that's basically the movie, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. What did you think about the movie?

Speaker 2:

This was a really long time ago I saw this movie. Yeah. So I'm digging up memories here. I think I liked it. It was kind of funny.

Speaker 1:

Hmm, okay, yeah, good, good, wait what.

Speaker 2:

I'm asking Was it funny?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, are you? Did I laugh?

Speaker 2:

I think it did All right Then it was a funny movie. Yeah, I'm not sure it was a favorite. No, Based off of my memory Uh-huh, which isn't that great at the moment.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Apparently, but it was still good. Uh-huh, what did you think?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean I think it was kind of funny. It's funny sometimes, you know, it's not funny throughout, funny throughout, it's just once in a while and so it's not like a laugh the whole movie through. But and I mean, yeah, I would also say that it's not a favorite and I haven't seen this movie that many times. So I wanted to watch it again to see what I thought today. And, yeah, I mean, it's a passable movie, but it's not in my top 10 or anything.

Speaker 1:

It's not like yeah it's one of those middle movies, Maybe a little bit lower than you know, middle even, but still it has funny moments in it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Bruce has long hair in this one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he does. I guess it's a wig.

Speaker 2:

I'm guessing. Yeah, it's not like him to have long hair.

Speaker 1:

No, yeah, and then we watched Ted, för kärlekens skull.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the Swedish movie yeah.

Speaker 1:

So this movie is about the musician Ted Gärdestad, about the musician Ted Gärdestad, and it's about he's like one of the I would say he's one of the best song or like yeah, musicians, we had that. I I don't know all of them, but other than ABBA yeah, and, by the way, they're in the movie as well.

Speaker 2:

They are.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, or I mean actors playing them, right, of course, and so this movie takes place in like the 70s and 80s. And, yeah, it's about Ted and his struggle with mental health really Schizophrenia.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, struggle with mental health really Schizophrenia.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and his brother who writes the lyrics and Ted makes the music and yeah, it's mostly about that. It's a little bit sad, but I really like it. And, like I said, I really like Ted Gerdestad. He's one of the greatest songwriters. Yeah, I mean he writes the music. Yeah, so I do like this movie. What did you think about this?

Speaker 2:

I enjoyed the movie too. I'm going to compare it to Bohemian Rhapsody, okay, because it was similar in a way. I mean obviously not in every way. No. Freddie Mercury did not have schizophrenia, no, but he had his own issues. But we were also comparing Rocketman to Bohemian Rhapsody. Yeah, but Rocketman was more of a musical and. Bohemian Rhapsody was more biopic.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Right, and that's what this one was too.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

It was good, I enjoyed it. I like him too. I like his music.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I think it was really good that his brother was always there for him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he needed it even if he didn't think he did Hmm.

Speaker 1:

And I mean it also kind of reminded me of Love and Mercy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, brian Wilson, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Since they both have had like mental health issues. Yeah, they both have had like mental health issues. Yeah, and I mean. The tragic thing is that it didn't end too well for Ted.

Speaker 2:

No, since he took his life. Oh, he did that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, in 97.

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, I mean, I get it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It can't be easy.

Speaker 1:

No, I mean, you never really escaped that.

Speaker 2:

No, despite the medication, sometimes it doesn't even help. I guess.

Speaker 1:

No, I guess not, and he didn't want the medication either. No, he wanted his creativity also.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I get it. Did you want to tell me your favorite song from the movie?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, my favorite song from the movie, yeah, my favorite song from this movie. I mean, it's the first song I ever heard from Ted Gerdestad, and that's Jag vill ha en egen måne.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I feel like I've heard that one before, but I didn't recognize the entire thing.

Speaker 1:

Okay, just parts of him yeah I? I feel like that because I was very young when I heard that song and I asked my mom, who, who is this? Who sings this? And she's like that's ted yardestad. And then she told me that he recently had taken his life. So so it must maybe like a year or two after. So I must have been like, let's see, uh, seven or eight when I first heard that song in 99?

Speaker 2:

yeah, I was, yeah 99.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think it was 99 probably.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I asked my mom and she told me that he took his life and everything. So I'm not sure I even knew you could do that.

Speaker 2:

Wait, you can do that.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, no. So I'm pretty sure I know your favorite, but I'm still going to ask.

Speaker 2:

Yes, my favorite, I believe, is Satellite. Yes, it gets stuck in my head. Oh no, maybe you noticed.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, my life partner and I rented a karaoke room in the hotel that we stayed in last. Okay, and that was one of the songs that we sang. Okay, very fun.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's the one. He won Melody Festival in. Yeah, in 79.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's a good song, it is.

Speaker 1:

And I recently looked his suicide up. Uh-huh, it was that he jumped in front of a train.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

And the I mean it was at the train station at Häggvik.

Speaker 2:

No, yeah, oh my God, that place is haunted. Yeah, oh my God, I was haunted by Ted's ghost yeah, I guess that is, I don't even know what to think about no, no, I know I'm like what we were there. Yeah, crazy, yeah, oh, my god. Okay, I'm gonna have to process this, yeah, so can we take a break? Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1:

Maybe we should all right I'm gonna take a yeah, so can we take a break.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, all right, maybe we should All right. I'm going to take a break. Yeah, I'm going to take a break. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I need to make some tea.

Speaker 2:

I need to make some tea. We'll be right back, yeah Bye.

Speaker 1:

Bye, we're back.

Speaker 2:

Hello and welcome back. Thank you for joining us for Tea Time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we fixed some tea.

Speaker 2:

And the problem with tea is that it's too hot. It's too hot, it's hot.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's true, I might have a tea obsession.

Speaker 2:

I think you do. I guess it a tea obsession.

Speaker 1:

I think you do.

Speaker 2:

I guess it could be worse. I've been drinking a lot of tea lately. I'm okay with that. Okay, and our ghosty logo.

Speaker 1:

Does he have a name? Yeah, we were talking about that. Yeah, he should have a name.

Speaker 2:

It's funny about the Hornhegvik thing. Yeah, because we had an incident where we had to stop at that very train station, which happens to be where he killed himself. Yeah, it's not funny.

Speaker 1:

No, it's interesting, A strange coincidence, yeah.

Speaker 2:

But I think that it would be appropriate for our ghosty logo ghosty to have a name.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

His name is Ted.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Is that wrong?

Speaker 1:

I think that's a good tribute to Ted the Artist.

Speaker 2:

All right, it was meant to be.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yep, so our ghosty has a name now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, ted.

Speaker 2:

All right, so I can think of a tradition Transition, transition.

Speaker 1:

So I can think of a tradition Transition, transition.

Speaker 2:

It's episode 102. Yeah Right, nothing special for today.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

So maybe we should do a crash course. Yeah, all right. So what is something you do every day that you want to learn more about? What are you?

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, it's okay. I'm sorry, it's okay. I'm sorry, but 102 doesn't two mean history lesson.

Speaker 2:

We did that on 100. Okay.

Speaker 1:

So now, okay, now we do it every zero, yeah, okay.

Speaker 2:

We've switched it now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's been adjusted.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't wanna. Yeah, that sounds good, I'll do a history lesson for 200.

Speaker 2:

It's every 100th episode. You don't get history lessons, so what is it that you need to get better at?

Speaker 1:

I need to get better at waking up.

Speaker 2:

Has waking up been a problem for you?

Speaker 1:

I'm struggling so hard with that.

Speaker 2:

All right, then we'll do a crash course on how to wake up.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

In the morning.

Speaker 1:

In the morning.

Speaker 2:

In the morning, all right. So yeah, waking up in the morning consistently can be a challenge.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

But small adjustments in your routine can help make it easier. Okay, yes, but small adjustments in your routine can help make it easier. Okay, so here's a quick guide to help you get up with more energy, brought to you by OpenEyes, open AI, chat, gpt. Whatever you want to call it, we call it OpenEyes. So number one out of 53. Nine.

Speaker 1:

Okay, not 10. No, nine, yeah. Why 10? I don't know. Nine is that's predictable. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Nine is a good number, it is so. Number one is set a consistent bedtime. When do you go to bed?

Speaker 1:

Not before 10.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so you need to aim for seven to nine hours of sleep and go to bed at the same time each night and this sets your internal clock to wake up around the same time each night, and this sets your internal clock to wake up around the same time.

Speaker 1:

That's a problem.

Speaker 2:

Do you get seven to nine hours of sleep? No, no, okay, you need to fix that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I do, but I have a lot of stuff I want to watch in the evenings and I don't have time during the day because I'm working.

Speaker 2:

I try to go to bed around like 9.15 and I still don't get my 7 to 9 hours.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Number two create a nighttime wind down routine. Do you have a bedtime routine?

Speaker 1:

Wind down.

Speaker 2:

Wind down.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

Not wind down. Wine, wine yeah. Or you get a glass of wine.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, I don't like wine, wine, wine, or you get a glass of wine, yeah, no, I don't like wine. No.

Speaker 2:

That would be unfortunate if you had a wine down routine and you don't even like wine.

Speaker 1:

What was the question?

Speaker 2:

Do you have a bedtime routine?

Speaker 1:

I have the bedtime routine that I'm brushing my teeth and then go to bed and maybe I'll look at my phone or computer.

Speaker 2:

Don't you shower too.

Speaker 1:

I shower a little bit earlier.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So that I do like maybe two, three hours before. So that's yeah, that's kind of what I do though. So that's yeah, that's kind of what I do, though, but maybe not the computer that much, but my phone I can, you know, look at, and then I'm staring at that thing. Forever, yeah, but I mean, I don't have a trouble falling asleep, though when I put my phone down.

Speaker 2:

You what about me? Aren't you supposed? To answer these questions as well. If I have a bedtime routine? Yeah, I have an extensive bedtime routine please tell you, really want me to tell you my bedtime routine yeah, okay, you don't have to go into like the last detail, but you can summarize maybe I have tasks, okay, before I go to bed.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

First I will also. I go through my phone. First I will scroll through my phone for a while and then I put sick child to bed.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then I put my daughter to bed, I prepare my coffee, where I set up the machine and I set the timer on the coffee maker, okay, and then I put the dishes in the dishwasher and I start the dishwasher and then I, if I'm not showering, then I will wash my face. If I am showering, then I take a shower.

Speaker 1:

Then you still wash your face and I wash my face. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I brush my teeth in the shower too.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

I prepare my clothes for the next day In the shower. In the shower no, before my shower, I will prepare my clothes for the next day.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

And whatever I'm going to wear to bed. So it's all in the bathroom waiting for me and then, when I'm done in the bathroom and I've gotten dressed and everything, I will lock all the doors and close all the windows or the curtains and turn off all the lights and then I go to bed and sometimes I read and sometimes- A book A book, yeah, not my phone. And sometimes I will put lotion on my feet because they get dry Okay. Yeah, that's usually my bedtime routine.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

My more extensive one. My shorter ones are pretty much the same, but missing some things. Oh yeah, so a typical bedtime routine according to Open Eyes would be something like dim the lights, avoid screens for at least an hour before bed and try calming activities like reading or listening to soft music. Avoid caffeine six hours before bed and heavy meals late in the evening. I know that I try not to drink caffeine after 3.30.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, yes no.

Speaker 2:

Not including Fridays, because I'm drinking energy drinks now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean that's okay, because the weekends you can, you know you don't have. Well, I don't have to go up as early. I can't speak for you.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

But I don't have to go up as early.

Speaker 2:

I can't speak for you, no, but I don't have to. Yeah, I wake up early every day, whether it's weekday or weekend. Number three plan for natural light exposure in the morning. Good luck with that. We live in the land of no sun.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, almost.

Speaker 2:

I never see the sun anymore.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I do.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Maybe I know where to look.

Speaker 2:

Maybe you do, I don't, where do you look? To find the sun.

Speaker 1:

The sky.

Speaker 2:

Oh well, when I look up, I see a ceiling.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, I'm usually at work, that's because you're inside?

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's my problem.

Speaker 1:

If you try, that's because you're inside.

Speaker 2:

Oh, so that's my problem If you try to go outside maybe you'll see it yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, when we're at work that's a little bit different. Mm. But in the weekends, then you can see the sun. Yeah. Or if you go outside on the breaks.

Speaker 2:

We don't do that anymore. We don't do that anymore, we don't.

Speaker 1:

It's cold, yeah, too bad, yeah Well morning light helps regulate your body's circadian rhythm.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that sounds fancy, yeah, so open the curtains or turn on a bright lamp as soon as you wake up. To signal to your body that it's time to start the day, you need to turn on the bright lights.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Like wake up, bonnie.

Speaker 1:

You should have like a spotlight, yeah, Aimed directly at you.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, put a timer on that.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, so when your alarm goes off, you get this blinding light on you too. That's right. That I really can't see now.

Speaker 2:

That's a good wake up call. So life hacks, yeah. Number four position your alarm strategically.

Speaker 1:

Where is your alarm? It's right next to my bed.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so what you should do. I'm going to tell you what to do now. Place your alarm out of arm's reach so you have to get up to turn it off.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, do you do that? I have heard about that, but no, I don't do that.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you could also use a sunrise alarm clock which mimics a natural sunrise and gradually lights up to wake you more gently Huh Interesting.

Speaker 1:

I've never heard of that, no.

Speaker 2:

My alarm is as close to me as possible.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

My alarm. I can just turn off on my watch, and that has been a problem before, but usually it's not. Usually I just jump up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, my problem is when my alarm goes off, I turn it off and then I sit on the bed for hours, like 10 minutes, just sitting there, half asleep, just to, you know, collect myself so I can, you know, get up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So it takes time and I'm like should I go up even earlier? But then that's too early.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we already wake up really early, yeah, so I mean, I've had that thought too, but then it's like I struggle to get my seven hours minimum.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, as it is.

Speaker 2:

I can't imagine trying to go to bed even earlier. No. And yeah, it's just, it wouldn't work out. No. Number five prep for the morning. Lay out clothes, pack your bag and plan breakfast the night before to reduce morning stress and give you something to look forward to.

Speaker 1:

I don't do that because I feel like I have to make my sandwiches in the morning.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they're not good when they lay out like that, no overnight. Because you have hard bread and it goes soft and then it turns into regular bread. Yeah, so I have you considered regular bread?

Speaker 1:

No, Okay, yeah, and it's the same with the apple. I don't really want to do that either the day before, yeah, because I mean it's already laying there all day, all day, and it's not fresh.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

When I eat it, and it's going to be even less fresh if I do that the day before.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Did you want to answer the question or did you?

Speaker 2:

I feel like I've already answered this, because I already prepare my clothes, at least. Yeah. And my lunch is already prepped for me, so I just pull it out. And yeah, lunch is already prepped for me, so I just pull it out and yeah, yeah, but I do fix my life partner's lunch and my kids' snacks for school.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't have to think about those things.

Speaker 2:

No, lucky yeah.

Speaker 1:

I still have trouble getting up in the morning, so Unlucky.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's too bad. Number six yeah. Hydrate, first thing, but you don't drink water. No, not, no, no. This is saying a glass of water helps kickstart your metabolism and makes you feel more alert.

Speaker 1:

Have a glass ready by your bedside if it's easier. Okay, okay, good to know. Yeah, I don't really drink that much water. I don't drink that much at all.

Speaker 2:

No, I drink a lot of water.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And, as a result, I have to pee every 10 minutes.

Speaker 1:

I never have to pee.

Speaker 2:

Ever no. I haven't Maybe once, once a day.

Speaker 1:

Once a day? Yeah, maybe.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I do drink water first thing in the morning Before you check your weight. No, no, that's good.

Speaker 2:

Should we go through our morning routines too, because I can do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yes, we can do that Okay.

Speaker 2:

My morning routine. So my alarm goes off and I jump out of bed. Right, I go pee because I pee a lot, and then I check my weight, I sit and cry and then I drink water to rehydrate after crying and peeing To refill the tears.

Speaker 2:

Right, and then I put the dishes away that I had previously put in the dishwasher the night before, and then I feed the bunny, I pour the coffee that was previously prepped for myself, and I find the lunch boxes, and then I prep the lunches and snacks. I do some stretching, I go for a jog, and then I take a shower. This I do every morning, though, but it's just, it's really quick, it's one minute.

Speaker 1:

Okay, in the shower.

Speaker 2:

I just get my hair wet and wash off whatever layer of I don't know Sweat, Sweat and sleep oils, whatever yeah, it's really oily. And I get dressed and I lotion my face, I put on my mascara, mascara, mascara, mascara. I lotion my face.

Speaker 1:

I put on my mascara.

Speaker 2:

Mascara, mascara, mascara. I fix my hair, I scroll my phone and then I brush my teeth and we get ready to go. Okay, I'll make the bed too. And then we get ready to go. Okay, sick, child and I. Yes, and that's what we do in the morning. Yeah, what about?

Speaker 1:

you Okay. What about you? Okay, so I wake up, turn the alarm off, sit for about 10 minutes. Then I get up, take my t-shirt on, not my pants, because I'm going to go check my weight and I don't want my pants on for that, because I have heavy pants.

Speaker 2:

Heavy pants. Heavy pants I'm going to start calling you a heavy pants.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so. And then I try to cry, but I can't. I might go to the toilet if I need to, otherwise I don't. And then I go downstairs and make my sandwiches, then I eat some yogurt then I oh, I peel my apples.

Speaker 2:

Wait, I forgot to mention that I actually drink the tea, or tea the coffee, while I'm scrolling my phone oh, okay I don't just pour the coffee, I also drink it okay okay, sorry you pour it in your lap or your life partner's lap. Where else would I put it?

Speaker 1:

That's your thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I like to do that. Is that weird. What would you do with it?

Speaker 1:

I don't know, I don't like coffee.

Speaker 2:

You would dump it as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I would.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Okay so, and then I fix my apple and then I go brush my teeth and everything. What happens next? Yes, I do the rolly thing on my shirt to take off most of the cat hair from my shirts, shirt, shirts, no, from my shirt and pants, and then I go get some deodorant. That sounded weird.

Speaker 2:

Deodorant. Leave me alone.

Speaker 1:

What's the word?

Speaker 2:

Deodorant yeah that.

Speaker 1:

And then I feed the birds Tuppence, what.

Speaker 2:

Tuppence a day.

Speaker 1:

Tuppence, tuppence. Yeah, I don't know. I go outside and feed some birds with bird seeds, I guess that's nice. Yeah, because I mean I have other people feeding the cats, so I don't have to do that, and then I go back inside and get my stuff and then I'm on my way. Yeah, that's kind of it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, what I do Cool way. Yeah, that's kind of it. Yeah, what I do Cool, all right, all right. So number seven is do a short morning movement. Okay, even a quick stretch or light exercise can get blood flowing and shake off the grogginess. Try something simple like neck stretches or a brisk walk.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I was thinking like a sprint, no.

Speaker 2:

No, a short movement.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's a short movement.

Speaker 2:

I guess. So Just a short sprint.

Speaker 1:

A short sprint.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sure.

Speaker 1:

To the scale.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Like 10 steps. Yeah, sprint.

Speaker 2:

Go as fast as you can. It's like a race with yourself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Number eight avoid snoozing.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Hitting the snooze button disrupts sleep cycles, leaving you groggy. Commit to getting up when the alarm rings to help train your body.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I am not a snoozer.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

I could not do that, that would just irritate me. I could not do that, that would just irritate me.

Speaker 2:

I don't trust myself.

Speaker 1:

I would just be pissed off.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Every time it sounds and I have been with people like that that you know snoozes and in the same room and I'm like what the F? Just stop, go up, you don't lay there. Just go up and turn that thing off and let me sleep.

Speaker 2:

Yeah yeah, my life partner is also a snoozer. Yeah, it's really annoying.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't. I'm really not that kind of person.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, all right, number nine, last one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Stick to the routine even on the weekends.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

Waking up at the same time every day, including weekends, reinforces your sleep cycle and makes waking up easier over time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I guess that makes sense, but yeah, I'm not like that.

Speaker 2:

I do sleep in on the weekends.

Speaker 1:

I do too.

Speaker 2:

I get an extra hour of sleep.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that sounded like I do too.

Speaker 2:

So do I.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like you told me that I don't, and I'm like I do too like you told me that I don't, and I'm like I do too. Yeah, okay, no, uh yes, I also sleep a few hours extra.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I only sleep the one yeah, well, I sleep a few more yeah you're better than me. No, okay, I'm worse than you well, you get more sleep than I do. I do, but I probably feel worse, probably Because I mean if I sleep past like seven, my day is ruined pretty much. If I get too much sleep, I get groggy throughout the day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I can get headache from sleeping too much.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I think I had that last weekend. That wasn't fun. It feels almost pretty good, uh, sleeping, you know, to few hours. It feels better somehow I don't know I don't know why, but it it does you. You kind of need to be tired.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. And also I mean, maybe it's because it's easier to fall asleep in the evening later.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, maybe that's also.

Speaker 1:

You know that's a good thing, good yeah, because I don't have a problem with that.

Speaker 2:

No. Absolutely not Me neither I did.

Speaker 1:

When I was younger, I had really bad problems with falling asleep.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, I think I can fall asleep within 15 minutes, me too.

Speaker 1:

Five minutes, that's.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

If I don't have a phone or anything, I can easily fall asleep five minutes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, all right. Well, these changes can help your body naturally fall into a rhythm where getting up in the morning isn't such a struggle. So give it a week or two to adjust. If you make adjustments, yeah. Are you going to change your routines?

Speaker 1:

I probably will not Okay, so we haven't you can continue struggling, then yes. I haven't learned anything. Well, I have, but I will not change anything.

Speaker 2:

All right, I'm sorry, will you change, I already do everything right.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, there's nothing to change. Oh yeah, you're like that today. I forgot.

Speaker 2:

So now you've woken up, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm awake now.

Speaker 2:

So how are you going to stay awake?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's a good question.

Speaker 2:

Here's part two of part two.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

How to stay awake.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

If you're struggling to stay awake, especially during a long day or while studying, here are some practical tips to help you feel more alert and focused.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and this also applies for like watching movies.

Speaker 2:

Watching movies, recording podcasts at midnight all of the above. Okay good, or for long Mondays at work. Yeah, number one stay hydrated. You're really good at that. Dehydration can cause fatigue, matias, so drink water throughout the day did you call me fat yeah fatigue fatigue fatias fatias oh, my god, that's gonna be my.

Speaker 1:

That was me before. That was me. Me with Weird Al. That was you next to Weird Al. Yeah, that's Fatias right there.

Speaker 2:

You don't want to meet him again. It's not good, Fatias not Weird Al. Oh my god, of course you want to meet Weird Al again, fatias. Yeah, he don't want to meet Fatias again he doesn't, so aim for a glass every couple of hours. I was gonna say days stay hydrated, so aim for one glass every couple of days yeah, that's about what I drink every couple of hours oh number two take short breaks often, okay if you're watching a movie time for a short break.

Speaker 2:

All right, we're going to take a break so I can recharge, and yeah, all right.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so have you what. I feel like we take short breaks during the movies.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it happens on occasion.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Have you ever heard of the Pomodoro method?

Speaker 1:

Never.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so what you do is you work for 25 minutes and then take a five minute break okay and it's supposed to help uh your focus.

Speaker 2:

So frequent short breaks help keep your mind fresh okay I kind of do that at work, kind of depending on what I'm doing. If it's like a super busy day, then I'll not even bother, but on normal days I will take a quick break every now and then Just breathe or refill my water bottle or something. So that's something to consider. Can we do that during movies? Can we have a timer for like 25 minutes? Watch 25 minutes of the movie, take a five minute break.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I guess we can.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's going to take a lot longer.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Can we do that with the podcast too? Can we take a break every 25 minutes of recording?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're behind on the break takings.

Speaker 2:

We are. We should take them all at once now. Yeah, I'm not going to do math.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Number three get moving.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Get out Okay, bye, bye. That was only one foot.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was hopping on one foot.

Speaker 2:

Physical movement boosts energy, even if it's just standing up and stretching or doing a quick lap around the room. Try walking outside for a few minutes, as fresh air helps too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean that we do.

Speaker 2:

We do that.

Speaker 1:

Not during movies, but Not every 25 minutes. No, we don't.

Speaker 2:

No, it's an idea Number four eat light, balanced meals and snacks.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know.

Speaker 2:

For movies. We are not very good at that.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

We eat heavy meals and snack heavily, but avoid heavy meals which can make you sleepy. Opt for light, balanced foods that combine protein and fiber, like nuts, yogurt or fruit, to sustain energy.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I mean nuts we eat sometimes, and yogurt. We could?

Speaker 2:

yeah, or Kulf. Yeah, it's called Quark.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh yeah, that's such a weird Weird.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's called quark. Yeah, oh yeah, that's such a weird Weird yeah.

Speaker 1:

Kulf is much better.

Speaker 2:

Mm, I could go for Greek yogurt, that's good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

We used to have that for our snacks.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, remember when we had the kiwi and bananas and all sorts of things. Yeah, was it muesli or granola?

Speaker 2:

Yeah the granola.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we should have this as our snack.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2:

Nuts, yogurt and fruit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I feel nostalgic about it already, and it's not that long ago, but still.

Speaker 2:

It's not.

Speaker 1:

I mean, it's not like it's 10 years ago, it's like a year ago yeah I don't know.

Speaker 2:

It's a, it's a thought, yeah, although I was looking forward to oreos next week okay, kind of had that today.

Speaker 1:

Can I bowl right?

Speaker 2:

yeah, I can dip my, yo my yogurt into my feet, into the yogurt. Also, oreos I can dip my Oreos in the yogurt, or we can have one per movie.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that works. That's what we did today, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, anyway. Number five use caffeine wisely. Yeah, you take your hand down from your drink. Yeah, yeah, you take your hand down from your drink. Yeah, if you use caffeine, have a coffee or tea, but avoid it in the late afternoon to not disrupt your sleep later.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we failed there. Green tea offers a lower caffeine alternative and can provide a gentler energy boost. Yeah, we usually take the black teas.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you took a black tea, I took a green tea.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it feels like most of the teas. I like teas I like. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

But you're right.

Speaker 1:

Are black.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know why that is.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

They just maybe those flavors don't go well with green tea. It just doesn't taste the same.

Speaker 1:

But blueberries, those were green, I don't go well with green tea.

Speaker 2:

It just doesn't taste the same. But blueberries, those were green, I don't know it just said blueberry. Okay, it didn't say if it was black or green or red or an herbal tea or whatever. It just said blueberry blue, this is blue tea blue tea, blue tea. Blue tea Blue tea.

Speaker 1:

Ooh, that's a nice blue tea.

Speaker 2:

It's blue-delicious. Yeah, all right. Number six breathe deeply. Deep breathing exercises increase oxygen to your brain, which can improve focus. Try inhaling deeply for a count of four, holding for four and exhaling for four.

Speaker 3:

We've done this exercise before. Yes, I remember this. We don't have to do this again.

Speaker 2:

No, Number seven Turn on bright lights for a movie. Yeah, we need a brighter light in here we need more spotlights. But light exposure helps keep you awake, so make sure your space is well lit. If possible, go outside for some natural sunlight. It is dark out, yeah, I don't know. Some natural sunlight there's no sun.

Speaker 1:

It's difficult in the middle of the night.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess. So Number eight here, I guess so Number eight here's a good one. Engage with stimulating content. Can you provide some stimulating content to keep me awake right now? Not doing great so far.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

If you're studying or working on something tedious. Do you know that word?

Speaker 1:

Tedious, I know those.

Speaker 2:

Tedious. Oh, it's tiring.

Speaker 1:

Tedious, oh it's tiring and exhausting.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, try mixing in different activities that engage your mind, change topics or use different media like videos or audio to keep things interesting. So if you're watching a boring movie, change the movie, make it more exciting.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, switch to Jackie Chan.

Speaker 2:

I was thinking about that today. I was going to text you earlier and be like I miss watching Jackie Chan Me too, I was listening to the episode when we were talking about wheels on meals.

Speaker 1:

And I was like aw, that was like the one before. Who Am I? Mm-hmm? Almost at the end.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, yeah, I also listened to the next one. So we did watch who Am I and we also did a favorites list. Mm-hmm. I was like I want to watch Jackie Chan again.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was a good year.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, number nine, keep your posture upright, fix yourself.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Good posture can improve alertness.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so that was on the list, or did you just want to say that?

Speaker 2:

to me. Yeah, can you stop slouching?

Speaker 1:

Let me read the list, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Sit up straight, as slouching often makes us feel more tired. Yeah. So we're going to start sitting upright while watching movies. Yeah, we need to change our chairs. We need to bring out chairs like that one yeah.

Speaker 1:

We need to have the straight chairs and the you know the uncomfortable hard chairs.

Speaker 2:

Yes, wooden chairs. We're going to bring the dining table and chairs out to the living room and watch movies.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, maybe even put some needles or something. Yeah, so you don't lean back.

Speaker 2:

No, Last one, number 10. Power nap, if possible.

Speaker 1:

During movies. Yes, I've done that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh yeah, definitely Several times.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's what we should say if the other one catches you falling asleep. I'm just power napping.

Speaker 2:

I'm just taking a power nap so I can watch the end. Yeah. So a quick 10 to 20 minute nap is going to make you miss a lot of the movie, yeah, but it can recharge you. But avoid naps longer than 30 minutes to prevent missing half of the movie.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, or at least a third, and that's not good. I mean, you have to time it right, so you can take it, take the nap during the boring parts right so you kind of have to know the movie beforehand so you know when you can take the nap yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So it's good to have you around because you've already seen the movies you can be like okay, you need to wake up now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, gonna miss the good parts.

Speaker 2:

Okay, now you can take a nap this is a good time to take a nap and wake up. Avoid naps longer than 30 minutes to prevent groggyness. Napping too late in the day can also affect nighttime sleep. Aw, that was it. Use a mix of these tips to stay alert through the day through your day, I can't read no and keep energy levels steady. The key is variety and movement. Small changes often make a big difference. So that was that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, very cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, are you going to follow all these tips?

Speaker 2:

I already do.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, why am I saying this?

Speaker 2:

Are you going to follow any of the tips?

Speaker 1:

Of course, Obviously, you know me.

Speaker 2:

I take naps throughout the day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I always do what the lists say.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know that, mm-hmm, I stay hydrated.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, did you finish your sips?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just a little bit left.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'm all out of sips.

Speaker 1:

I'm all out of sips. I'm so lost without them. Hey, I said I was going to sing and I did.

Speaker 2:

You did.

Speaker 1:

Oh, when I was saying that, I was thinking about, but I, I just, I just talked about that song. I never sang it. No, until now. Som jag kan åka till där, jag kan glömma att du lämnat mig, which is a good transition into wrapping this up. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But first my friend, but first.

Speaker 1:

But, first yeah, I'm screaming, good Okay.

Speaker 2:

You're so quiet usually Not when you're screaming, though. You're so quiet when you scream um, what is ruining your life right now?

Speaker 1:

this is your time to complain about anything I, I feel like this is gonna be repetitive, because I don't uh, can you go first this time?

Speaker 2:

no, what's ruining my life? Yeah I'm also repetitive, though in a way it's my own thoughts yeah yeah, my self-control is my issues really so that's, I'm ruining my own life me in my entirety yeah, I'm also gonna go with that, you.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, you know I'm kidding.

Speaker 2:

You're ruining my life, right? I really hope so.

Speaker 1:

No, that's ruining my life.

Speaker 2:

Bad timing with jokes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, that's true. My comedic timing hasn't been on point.

Speaker 2:

Today specifically. Yeah, point Today specifically.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yesterday, yesterday, I'm gonna keep singing.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all your troubles seem so far away.

Speaker 1:

Well, not really, because that's the troubled day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Well, yesterday morning all my troubles seem so far away. It doesn't rhyme though, no, oh well, so are we ready to wrap this up?
