in a world where everything is unscripted. This is roasty, toasty ghost are you good yes, are you here? Uh, yeah, are you sleeping, maybe not good can't do that? No, no, we will have to do something about that. Mm-hmm, I'm going to have to wake you up, yeah.
Speaker 2Before you go-go yeah. Because I don't plan on doing the solo.
Speaker 1No, that's true. Okay, you're not going to have to do this solo.
Speaker 2Thank you. I'm going to find another person who can do this with me so I can sleep. There must be someone out there who wants to do this with me. Would you like to host a podcast with me?
Speaker 1no one wants to host a podcast with me.
Speaker 2Matthias has to sleep he always wants to sleep and I'm usually the one falling asleep during the recordings. Are you ready?
Speaker 1okay, is it my turn?
Speaker 2I think so should we open okay, cheers, so good yeah, I deserve that me too.
Speaker 1Hello and welcome to roasty toasty ghosty. My name is matthias and I'm mauren yeah, and we will be your friends for maybe an hour-ish. Ish yeah, oh yeah. This is a very good podcast. I forgot to say that.
Speaker 2This is a very good podcast. Please listen to it. Yeah, you do that.
Speaker 1You usually say it's the greatest podcast ever.
Speaker 2It's the best. Okay, yeah, you don't agree.
Speaker 1There's better ones. I mean, it's good enough, all right, this is a good enough for now. Yeah.
Speaker 2If you have nothing else to listen, to listen to this.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm just trying to be humble. Okay, is that okay? That's okay, what else do I have to say?
Speaker 2I am very excited to be here.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2And how are you?
Speaker 1I'm tired but still excited.
Speaker 2Good.
Speaker 1I'm gonna wake up a little bit now that I had my energy drink. Yes. Yeah, and what else do we usually say before we start talking about the week? Or do you want to start talking about the week right now, or do you have anything else you want to say? I mean, you can start talking whenever you want to. I can keep going. Probably I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say or do, but I will keep talking, uh, as long as you're quiet.
Speaker 2So you want to keep going? Yeah, I, can you have anything else?
Speaker 1I don't have anything to talk about, but I can still just you know say words. That's what I do mostly when I'm talking. I usually just say words and sometimes I form them into like a sentence and I never I haven't so far said like a period or anything, Like you know.
Speaker 2Oh, you don't say that. No, I don't Question mark. No, I don't.
Speaker 1Question mark no Exclamation mark Is that?
Speaker 2I think it's a point.
Speaker 1Point.
Speaker 2Exclamation point.
Speaker 1Oh okay, yes, Not just point, that's a point.
Speaker 2Exclamation point.
Speaker 1That's a point.
Speaker 2Is it a point or a mark?
Speaker 1Well, maybe a point. Is it a point or a mark?
Speaker 2well, maybe you've got a question mark, you've got an exclamation I don't know I'm questioning everything what is life?
Speaker 1even question mark, I don't know, but um comma, comma comma, comma, comma, comma, commaleon.
Speaker 2So yeah, I've had a good week, I guess.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah let's talk about our week instead. Oh, do you want to go first? Okay, well, let's see what happened. On, on, on. What happened on Saturday.
Speaker 2Saturday, saturday, oh.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, that's good. I like that one.
Speaker 2Every day should have a song saturday. What did we do on saturday? Well, I didn't have to teach gymnastics, no, so we went to the gym and we did gym things and I brought sick child and my other big kids to uh an indoor playground, I guess in a way yeah, I I've never been there, so I don't know, okay, well, it's just a big playground inside and um, for sick child's birthday, which was on halloween the th, yeah, and we played and it was all fun and yeah.
Speaker 2And then we went to McDonald's and I got a vanilla latte. I hadn't eaten anything all day. Okay. I had been running off of coffee the entire time, but yeah, because I think I might have gained some weight from the evening before. Yeah, so I was trying to reset, I guess in a way, I did eat a salad later and it was really good. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that was my Saturday.
Speaker 1Very exciting. I didn't do anything. Probably Maybe some editing.
Speaker 2Okay, and then Sunday happened and we went for a walk, yeah, in the dark, we did. We also went to the nearby city before yes, you went with me to bring my daughter to her gymnastics class yeah and we uh did my grocery shopping. Yeah. And then we picked her up and we went to a store. Yeah. And you got me a Christmas present.
Speaker 1Oh, yes, I did.
Speaker 2Yeah, and that was the point of you coming with me yeah. We didn't even use it today.
Speaker 1No, we didn't. Next week we have to use it, or during the break maybe. Oh, yeah, why not?
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, it's a what water? Boiler thing, a tea kettle in a way.
Speaker 1Yeah it boils water for my tea yeah, and it's so cool, it turns blue. And when?
Speaker 2it's on. Yeah it the there's a blue light yeah and it's very cool and it has like a, a pad that it sits on yeah and then you can lift it and carry it away. Yeah, very cool, I do like it, and so then I felt like I had to give you your christmas present early as well yes and what did you get I? I got a t-shirt that says big fun yeah, on it from heathers yeah that's what the fat girl, yeah, was wearing the um reference from that movie, heathers.
Speaker 1I like heathers it was a good movie yeah, and I made a video of that movie.
Speaker 2You did.
Speaker 1That people should check out because it hasn't gotten a lot of views. Aw. And not the Beetlejuice either. So if people have you know time over, just go to the Action Master on YouTube and check those videos out.
Speaker 2You should do that.
Speaker 1Hmm.
Speaker 2Yeah, and we went for a walk, yes, yeah.
Speaker 1And we went for a walk. Yes, on Sunday we went for a walk in the dark.
Speaker 2Oh, it was interesting. It was interesting, it was an adventure.
Speaker 1It wasn't scary as in you know spooky, but it was.
Speaker 2I didn't feel like I was going to die, no, but you couldn't see where you put your feet. Yeah, that's the scariest part. You couldn't see anything and it was windy like crazy.
Speaker 1So I don't know. We're probably not going to take that road this year.
Speaker 2For the rest of the year.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Maybe we'll take a forest trail this week.
Speaker 1Unless we can take the road in the middle of the day at some point.
Speaker 2Yeah, so yeah, that was Sunday and then Monday happened.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's just days back to work. Yeah, a day back to work. Nothing fun happening there.
Speaker 2No, I feel like things happen this week. I think, at least for me. At work no, not really at work, but like personally, I think, if we skip over Monday, because I don't think anything actually happened on Monday- no. Things don't usually happen on Mondays.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2But on Tuesday I started feeling really weird. No, no, yeah, because I could only half see, and so I was freaking out a little bit, but eventually it got better. But I started getting a headache behind my other eye which started spreading towards the back of my head, and so I was thinking, okay, I'm gonna get a migraine now. So that's cool. But I don't think I really got a migraine, it was just a headache.
Speaker 2And then later that evening I kind of had a breakdown. I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself over my weight and the things I consume and everything and I got really frustrated because my favorite thing ever is eating. I love to eat everything, but when I'm trying to be good I can't do that. So I got frustrated and I ate a ton of stuff. And then I felt bad for myself because I had eaten a ton of stuff and yeah, I had a breakdown.
Speaker 2I had a stress breakdown. Yeah, I had a breakdown. I had a stress breakdown. And did anything happen for you on Tuesday?
Speaker 1I don't remember. Actually, I don't think so. Okay, I think this has been just a boring week.
Speaker 2Well, after my breakdown, I came out on the other side. I felt better and I didn't eat anything for 24 hours.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But I mean, maybe for anyone it sounds like torture, but it wasn't that bad. No, because around like hour 22, I started feeling really good, like I was pretty much running off of my own energy or what Not energy.
Speaker 1But yeah, I know what you mean, but I don't.
Speaker 2I felt very good, I was very alert and I had energy and I I was happy, yeah, and then I went home.
Speaker 1we did overtime, oh, that was wednesday and we didn't go to the gym.
Speaker 2We did overtime instead.
Speaker 1Right, yes, we did overtime. I did overtime on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm, yeah, okay, so I went home and I ate food and I got really full. Yeah. But I felt good. Still, I didn't put myself down for eating too much yeah, I did not eat too much, but I ate what I intended to eat. And then I was good, I was happy and yesterday was Thursday.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I was good yesterday.
Speaker 1Yeah, happy. Yeah, and yesterday was thursday. Yeah, I was good yesterday. Yeah, that's where you only went to work for a couple of hours yeah, three hours.
Speaker 2I worked for three hours and then I left. I went to get a magnet x-ray wait three hours seven, eight, nine, two hours. Yeah, I worked for two hours and then I went and got a magnet x-ray, yeah, and that was an experience okay, yeah, it was fun, you said it was fun.
Speaker 2it was not a normal x-ray like I had expected it to be, because I got to the hospital and I was like, oh, x-ray, I know where the x-ray section or department is. And so I went there and I looked up my like little receipt that said where I was supposed to go and I was like I cannot find my waiting room here. It was in a completely different area. So I got a good walk in at least, and like Christopher.
Speaker 2Yeah, I got a good walk in thein the good one, yeah, not the bad ones, but he was a good guy, uh, anyway, yeah, like this department was way in the basement okay of the hospital and, um, yeah, I went in and she's like you're going to have to take off your clothes Not all of my clothes, but most of them and I was like, okay, usually I just have to take off my pants.
Speaker 1And she's like no reason.
Speaker 2No reason, just do it.
Speaker 1Yeah, don't ask questions.
Speaker 2No, like usually, I only have to take off my pants, but okay. I mean I usually.
Speaker 1Not now no.
Speaker 2This is off my pants, but um, okay, I mean I usually not now. No, this is fine, she's like you're gonna have to take off your jewelry and anything metal on you like, um, okay, okay, that's fine. And yeah, I put all my stuff in my lock in a locker and there was. We went into the room and it was a big machine. It was like one of those big tubes. You lay, lay on the bed and it shoots you. It shoots you. No, wait no.
Speaker 1It pushes you.
Speaker 2You go into the tube, you lay on the bed and it brings you into the tube. Yeah, and I was not expecting this at all, whatsoever. Okay.
Speaker 2She's like you're going to have to lay completely still the entire time. I was like the entire time. I was like how long is this supposed to take? Ah, 20, 25 minutes. Like oh, this is not a normal x-ray, not at all. So I did that, I went into the tube and I laid really still and I fell asleep and it was so nice. I got headphones. She's like do you want to listen to music? And I was like okay, fine, I'll listen to music. She's like you want to listen to anything? I was like I like anything. And what played on the headphones was mostly advertisements. I think it was supposed to be a radio station, but I swear there were. There were advertisements like the entire time maybe. I listened to three songs throughout the 20, 25 minutes yeah, but I was pretty much trying to sleep anyway, so it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2And then we finished up. She was like are you okay in there? I was like oh my god, I'm fine. She's like okay, I'm going to take you out now.
Speaker 1Like okay, so that's when she shot you, that's when she shot me?
Speaker 2No, I never got shot, but I got out and I was like I should do this more often, like that was really nice, and she laughed at me and she laughed with her colleague. She said she should do this more often I was like yeah, I got a nap. I never relax.
Speaker 1Relaxing is not something I do then you came back with a fake mustache on and like hello I'm here for my x-ray. Yeah, I'm a, I'm lawrence I'm a completely different person.
Speaker 2My name is lawrence larry, larry, larry my name is larry, uh, so yeah, I did that, and then I went right home right home I went straight home not gay home. You're funny, I am, you are hilarious.
Speaker 2But usually when I go into the city I will stop somewhere and get something yummy to eat Okay. I did not, that's good, that's good, that's good, that's good, that's good, that's good. That's good, that's good, that's good. That's good, I went home and I ate what I intended to eat for the entire day. I was really good. Good Even when I was home alone, which I cannot be trusted home alone, because I eat everything.
Speaker 1But I didn't. That's so weird because it's not the same. It's the opposite for me, Really. Yeah, when I have other people at home, they just try to make me eat all those things. When I'm home alone, I can just choose not to eat anything. That's usually because I'm distracted by YouTube.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'll do it. Yeah, but I was really productive at home. I did a whole bunch of stuff and I was good yeah, good yeah. What did you do yesterday?
Speaker 1I.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, I also went to gymnastics and hurt myself.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2I did backflips, though, and it was fun.
Speaker 1It was cool, you sent me a video.
Speaker 2I did. Hmm, I was supposed to do two backflips but I landed wrong. Oh, I was supposed to do two backflips but I landed wrong. Oh. So it didn't come out as I wanted it to.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2But it was still fun.
Speaker 1But you did two.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I was supposed to do them one after the other.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2But I messed up my landing on the first one. Mm-hmm, so I had to hop back and then do another backflip.
Speaker 1Mm Still cool Thank you. I've never done anything like that so Proud of me I am, I was also proud of me. It was too fun, too fun, too fun, yeah. Not good to have too much fun, yeah because then you get hurt.
Speaker 2Yeah, like you did, like I did my right knee and my left ankle.
Speaker 1Yep, yeah.
Speaker 2What did you do yesterday Too?
Speaker 1fun. Yeah, I didn't do much. I did not work overtime Okay, because I wasn't offered any overtime, but people were working overtime.
Speaker 2Hmm, just not you.
Speaker 1No, they forgot to tell me about it. Good. So I'm like I'm gonna go home then, so I didn't even clock out.
Speaker 2Yeah, you forgot.
Speaker 1Yeah, I forgot to clock out, but I could text my boss and he fixed that. That's good.
Speaker 2Yeah, today's Friday.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It is November 8th Today. We kind of had fun with our lunches, though.
Speaker 1We did, we kind of split our.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Or we yeah, we shared our lunches.
Speaker 2Yeah, I didn't get to eat dinner at home yesterday and I wanted the leftovers for my lunch today and I prepped my lunches throughout the week, so I had a lunch leftover, I actually had two and I have one for tomorrow, which I will probably eat tomorrow.
Speaker 1Okay, so we shared, we did.
Speaker 2You got my salad and you made a couple sandwiches and I ate pretty much both of them. Yeah, and my leftover dinner. Yeah. Yeah, it was good.
Speaker 1I was happy you have eaten so much today.
Speaker 2I have not Not that much. No. No, no, I'm convinced that I have not eaten that much today.
Speaker 1So much Are you trying to shame me. No, no, no, I'm just joking with you.
Speaker 2Should we give a weight update?
Speaker 1Yeah, maybe we should.
Speaker 2All right, since last Friday last recording how much have you lost or gained?
Speaker 1I lost 0.5 kilograms.
Speaker 2Good, I lost 1.4. Yeah, good, I lost 1.4. Yeah, yeah, which is a huge difference from last week, when I said that I had gained 2.9. Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's not fun. No, but you're, you're, you know, on a good way back, you're.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's been. You're like halfway back. Halfway.
Speaker 1Half.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1You're like halfway back.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's been rocky, but it's okay.
Speaker 1But you know you love rocky roads.
Speaker 2I do, it's a problem.
Speaker 1So what else did we do today?
Speaker 2Well, since it's Friday, we watched movies.
Speaker 1Yeah, we did.
Speaker 2Would you like to move me on?
Speaker 1Let's move me on.
Speaker 2All right. Today we watched Bandits and Ted. Not that Ted.
Speaker 1This is a Swedish movie.
Speaker 2It's a Swedish Ted.
Speaker 1Yeah, Ted, För kärlekens skull.
Speaker 2För kärlekens skull. Yeah, that's right, that's what we watched. Så så, så så.
Speaker 1Så, så så watched.
Speaker 2So so, so, so, so, so, ted, yeah, so I'm gonna tell you about bandit. Okay, maybe bandits, bandits, yeah, band-aids. This is a movie with I almost said brad pitt, but his name is bruce willis, yeah, or bruce village bruce village is also so stupid. It's an alternative for Bruce Willis. Yeah. If he's listening to this and wants to switch things up, call yourself Bruce Village. So in this movie, bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton are bandits.
Speaker 1They are.
Speaker 2And they did they come up with this system that they had, yeah, are. And they did they come up with this system that they had, yeah, um they would go to the ceo or manager of the bank. Yeah, and they would pretty much let themselves in and um, pretty much hold the family hostage and sleep over there and go into the bank in the morning and steal the money with the manager there. Yeah, that's what they did.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And they met Cate Blanchett.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2And she wanted to do a paint your wagon situation.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And be in a relationship with both of them at the same time yeah everyone seems fine with it, just like in paint your wagon yeah maybe they were inspired.
Speaker 1Maybe she's like watch that movie first you'll see, this isn't a big deal.
Speaker 2I can have both.
Speaker 1Yeah if lee, if Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood can share a lady, then you too can as well.
Speaker 2You got it, you can do it. So yeah, that's basically the movie, right.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah. What did you think about the movie?
Speaker 2This was a really long time ago I saw this movie. Yeah. So I'm digging up memories here. I think I liked it. It was kind of funny.
Speaker 1Hmm, okay, yeah, good, good, wait what.
Speaker 2I'm asking Was it funny?
Speaker 1Yeah, are you? Did I laugh?
Speaker 2I think it did All right Then it was a funny movie. Yeah, I'm not sure it was a favorite. No, Based off of my memory Uh-huh, which isn't that great at the moment.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Apparently, but it was still good. Uh-huh, what did you think?
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean I think it was kind of funny. It's funny sometimes, you know, it's not funny throughout, funny throughout, it's just once in a while and so it's not like a laugh the whole movie through. But and I mean, yeah, I would also say that it's not a favorite and I haven't seen this movie that many times. So I wanted to watch it again to see what I thought today. And, yeah, I mean, it's a passable movie, but it's not in my top 10 or anything.
Speaker 1It's not like yeah it's one of those middle movies, Maybe a little bit lower than you know, middle even, but still it has funny moments in it.
Speaker 2Yeah, Bruce has long hair in this one.
Speaker 1Yeah, he does. I guess it's a wig.
Speaker 2I'm guessing. Yeah, it's not like him to have long hair.
Speaker 1No, yeah, and then we watched Ted, för kärlekens skull.
Speaker 2Yeah, the Swedish movie yeah.
Speaker 1So this movie is about the musician Ted Gärdestad, about the musician Ted Gärdestad, and it's about he's like one of the I would say he's one of the best song or like yeah, musicians, we had that. I I don't know all of them, but other than ABBA yeah, and, by the way, they're in the movie as well.
Speaker 2They are.
Speaker 1Yeah, or I mean actors playing them, right, of course, and so this movie takes place in like the 70s and 80s. And, yeah, it's about Ted and his struggle with mental health really Schizophrenia.
Speaker 2Yeah, struggle with mental health really Schizophrenia.
Speaker 1Yeah, and his brother who writes the lyrics and Ted makes the music and yeah, it's mostly about that. It's a little bit sad, but I really like it. And, like I said, I really like Ted Gerdestad. He's one of the greatest songwriters. Yeah, I mean he writes the music. Yeah, so I do like this movie. What did you think about this?
Speaker 2I enjoyed the movie too. I'm going to compare it to Bohemian Rhapsody, okay, because it was similar in a way. I mean obviously not in every way. No. Freddie Mercury did not have schizophrenia, no, but he had his own issues. But we were also comparing Rocketman to Bohemian Rhapsody. Yeah, but Rocketman was more of a musical and. Bohemian Rhapsody was more biopic.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Right, and that's what this one was too.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2It was good, I enjoyed it. I like him too. I like his music.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I think it was really good that his brother was always there for him.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, he needed it even if he didn't think he did Hmm.
Speaker 1And I mean it also kind of reminded me of Love and Mercy.
Speaker 2Yeah, brian Wilson, yeah.
Speaker 1Since they both have had like mental health issues. Yeah, they both have had like mental health issues. Yeah, and I mean. The tragic thing is that it didn't end too well for Ted.
Speaker 2No, since he took his life. Oh, he did that.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, in 97.
Speaker 2Okay, yeah, I mean, I get it.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It can't be easy.
Speaker 1No, I mean, you never really escaped that.
Speaker 2No, despite the medication, sometimes it doesn't even help. I guess.
Speaker 1No, I guess not, and he didn't want the medication either. No, he wanted his creativity also.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, I get it. Did you want to tell me your favorite song from the movie?
Speaker 1Yeah, my favorite song from the movie, yeah, my favorite song from this movie. I mean, it's the first song I ever heard from Ted Gerdestad, and that's Jag vill ha en egen måne.
Speaker 2Okay, I feel like I've heard that one before, but I didn't recognize the entire thing.
Speaker 1Okay, just parts of him yeah I? I feel like that because I was very young when I heard that song and I asked my mom, who, who is this? Who sings this? And she's like that's ted yardestad. And then she told me that he recently had taken his life. So so it must maybe like a year or two after. So I must have been like, let's see, uh, seven or eight when I first heard that song in 99?
Speaker 2yeah, I was, yeah 99.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think it was 99 probably.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I asked my mom and she told me that he took his life and everything. So I'm not sure I even knew you could do that.
Speaker 2Wait, you can do that.
Speaker 1So yeah, no. So I'm pretty sure I know your favorite, but I'm still going to ask.
Speaker 2Yes, my favorite, I believe, is Satellite. Yes, it gets stuck in my head. Oh no, maybe you noticed.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, my life partner and I rented a karaoke room in the hotel that we stayed in last. Okay, and that was one of the songs that we sang. Okay, very fun.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's the one. He won Melody Festival in. Yeah, in 79.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's a good song, it is.
Speaker 1And I recently looked his suicide up. Uh-huh, it was that he jumped in front of a train.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And the I mean it was at the train station at Häggvik.
Speaker 2No, yeah, oh my God, that place is haunted. Yeah, oh my God, I was haunted by Ted's ghost yeah, I guess that is, I don't even know what to think about no, no, I know I'm like what we were there. Yeah, crazy, yeah, oh, my god. Okay, I'm gonna have to process this, yeah, so can we take a break? Yeah, all right.
Speaker 1Maybe we should all right I'm gonna take a yeah, so can we take a break.
Speaker 2Yeah, all right, maybe we should All right. I'm going to take a break. Yeah, I'm going to take a break. Yeah.
Speaker 1I need to make some tea.
Speaker 2I need to make some tea. We'll be right back, yeah Bye.
Speaker 1Bye, we're back.
Speaker 2Hello and welcome back. Thank you for joining us for Tea Time.
Speaker 1Yeah, we fixed some tea.
Speaker 2And the problem with tea is that it's too hot. It's too hot, it's hot.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's true, I might have a tea obsession.
Speaker 2I think you do. I guess it a tea obsession.
Speaker 1I think you do.
Speaker 2I guess it could be worse. I've been drinking a lot of tea lately. I'm okay with that. Okay, and our ghosty logo.
Speaker 1Does he have a name? Yeah, we were talking about that. Yeah, he should have a name.
Speaker 2It's funny about the Hornhegvik thing. Yeah, because we had an incident where we had to stop at that very train station, which happens to be where he killed himself. Yeah, it's not funny.
Speaker 1No, it's interesting, A strange coincidence, yeah.
Speaker 2But I think that it would be appropriate for our ghosty logo ghosty to have a name.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2His name is Ted.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Is that wrong?
Speaker 1I think that's a good tribute to Ted the Artist.
Speaker 2All right, it was meant to be.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yep, so our ghosty has a name now.
Speaker 1Yeah, ted.
Speaker 2All right, so I can think of a tradition Transition, transition.
Speaker 1So I can think of a tradition Transition, transition.
Speaker 2It's episode 102. Yeah Right, nothing special for today.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2So maybe we should do a crash course. Yeah, all right. So what is something you do every day that you want to learn more about? What are you?
Speaker 1I'm sorry, it's okay. I'm sorry, it's okay. I'm sorry, but 102 doesn't two mean history lesson.
Speaker 2We did that on 100. Okay.
Speaker 1So now, okay, now we do it every zero, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2We've switched it now.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It's been adjusted.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't wanna. Yeah, that sounds good, I'll do a history lesson for 200.
Speaker 2It's every 100th episode. You don't get history lessons, so what is it that you need to get better at?
Speaker 1I need to get better at waking up.
Speaker 2Has waking up been a problem for you?
Speaker 1I'm struggling so hard with that.
Speaker 2All right, then we'll do a crash course on how to wake up.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2In the morning.
Speaker 1In the morning.
Speaker 2In the morning, all right. So yeah, waking up in the morning consistently can be a challenge.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2But small adjustments in your routine can help make it easier. Okay, yes, but small adjustments in your routine can help make it easier. Okay, so here's a quick guide to help you get up with more energy, brought to you by OpenEyes, open AI, chat, gpt. Whatever you want to call it, we call it OpenEyes. So number one out of 53. Nine.
Speaker 1Okay, not 10. No, nine, yeah. Why 10? I don't know. Nine is that's predictable. Yeah.
Speaker 2Nine is a good number, it is so. Number one is set a consistent bedtime. When do you go to bed?
Speaker 1Not before 10.
Speaker 2Okay, so you need to aim for seven to nine hours of sleep and go to bed at the same time each night and this sets your internal clock to wake up around the same time each night, and this sets your internal clock to wake up around the same time.
Speaker 1That's a problem.
Speaker 2Do you get seven to nine hours of sleep? No, no, okay, you need to fix that.
Speaker 1Yeah, I do, but I have a lot of stuff I want to watch in the evenings and I don't have time during the day because I'm working.
Speaker 2I try to go to bed around like 9.15 and I still don't get my 7 to 9 hours.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Number two create a nighttime wind down routine. Do you have a bedtime routine?
Speaker 1Wind down.
Speaker 2Wind down.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2Not wind down. Wine, wine yeah. Or you get a glass of wine.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, I don't like wine, wine, wine, or you get a glass of wine, yeah, no, I don't like wine. No.
Speaker 2That would be unfortunate if you had a wine down routine and you don't even like wine.
Speaker 1What was the question?
Speaker 2Do you have a bedtime routine?
Speaker 1I have the bedtime routine that I'm brushing my teeth and then go to bed and maybe I'll look at my phone or computer.
Speaker 2Don't you shower too.
Speaker 1I shower a little bit earlier.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1So that I do like maybe two, three hours before. So that's yeah, that's kind of what I do though. So that's yeah, that's kind of what I do, though, but maybe not the computer that much, but my phone I can, you know, look at, and then I'm staring at that thing. Forever, yeah, but I mean, I don't have a trouble falling asleep, though when I put my phone down.
Speaker 2You what about me? Aren't you supposed? To answer these questions as well. If I have a bedtime routine? Yeah, I have an extensive bedtime routine please tell you, really want me to tell you my bedtime routine yeah, okay, you don't have to go into like the last detail, but you can summarize maybe I have tasks, okay, before I go to bed.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2First I will also. I go through my phone. First I will scroll through my phone for a while and then I put sick child to bed.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2And then I put my daughter to bed, I prepare my coffee, where I set up the machine and I set the timer on the coffee maker, okay, and then I put the dishes in the dishwasher and I start the dishwasher and then I, if I'm not showering, then I will wash my face. If I am showering, then I take a shower.
Speaker 1Then you still wash your face and I wash my face. Yeah.
Speaker 2And I brush my teeth in the shower too.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2I prepare my clothes for the next day In the shower. In the shower no, before my shower, I will prepare my clothes for the next day.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And whatever I'm going to wear to bed. So it's all in the bathroom waiting for me and then, when I'm done in the bathroom and I've gotten dressed and everything, I will lock all the doors and close all the windows or the curtains and turn off all the lights and then I go to bed and sometimes I read and sometimes- A book A book, yeah, not my phone. And sometimes I will put lotion on my feet because they get dry Okay. Yeah, that's usually my bedtime routine.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2My more extensive one. My shorter ones are pretty much the same, but missing some things. Oh yeah, so a typical bedtime routine according to Open Eyes would be something like dim the lights, avoid screens for at least an hour before bed and try calming activities like reading or listening to soft music. Avoid caffeine six hours before bed and heavy meals late in the evening. I know that I try not to drink caffeine after 3.30.
Speaker 1Oh okay, yes no.
Speaker 2Not including Fridays, because I'm drinking energy drinks now.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean that's okay, because the weekends you can, you know you don't have. Well, I don't have to go up as early. I can't speak for you.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1But I don't have to go up as early.
Speaker 2I can't speak for you, no, but I don't have to. Yeah, I wake up early every day, whether it's weekday or weekend. Number three plan for natural light exposure in the morning. Good luck with that. We live in the land of no sun.
Speaker 1Well, yeah, almost.
Speaker 2I never see the sun anymore.
Speaker 1Okay, I do.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Maybe I know where to look.
Speaker 2Maybe you do, I don't, where do you look? To find the sun.
Speaker 1The sky.
Speaker 2Oh well, when I look up, I see a ceiling.
Speaker 1Oh, okay, I'm usually at work, that's because you're inside?
Speaker 2Oh, that's my problem.
Speaker 1If you try, that's because you're inside.
Speaker 2Oh, so that's my problem If you try to go outside maybe you'll see it yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, when we're at work that's a little bit different. Mm. But in the weekends, then you can see the sun. Yeah. Or if you go outside on the breaks.
Speaker 2We don't do that anymore. We don't do that anymore, we don't.
Speaker 1It's cold, yeah, too bad, yeah Well morning light helps regulate your body's circadian rhythm.
Speaker 2Oh, that sounds fancy, yeah, so open the curtains or turn on a bright lamp as soon as you wake up. To signal to your body that it's time to start the day, you need to turn on the bright lights.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Like wake up, bonnie.
Speaker 1You should have like a spotlight, yeah, Aimed directly at you.
Speaker 2Yeah, put a timer on that.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, so when your alarm goes off, you get this blinding light on you too. That's right. That I really can't see now.
Speaker 2That's a good wake up call. So life hacks, yeah. Number four position your alarm strategically.
Speaker 1Where is your alarm? It's right next to my bed.
Speaker 2Okay, so what you should do. I'm going to tell you what to do now. Place your alarm out of arm's reach so you have to get up to turn it off.
Speaker 1Yeah, do you do that? I have heard about that, but no, I don't do that.
Speaker 2Okay, you could also use a sunrise alarm clock which mimics a natural sunrise and gradually lights up to wake you more gently Huh Interesting.
Speaker 1I've never heard of that, no.
Speaker 2My alarm is as close to me as possible.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2My alarm. I can just turn off on my watch, and that has been a problem before, but usually it's not. Usually I just jump up.
Speaker 1Yeah, my problem is when my alarm goes off, I turn it off and then I sit on the bed for hours, like 10 minutes, just sitting there, half asleep, just to, you know, collect myself so I can, you know, get up.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1So it takes time and I'm like should I go up even earlier? But then that's too early.
Speaker 2Yeah, we already wake up really early, yeah, so I mean, I've had that thought too, but then it's like I struggle to get my seven hours minimum.
Speaker 1Yeah, as it is.
Speaker 2I can't imagine trying to go to bed even earlier. No. And yeah, it's just, it wouldn't work out. No. Number five prep for the morning. Lay out clothes, pack your bag and plan breakfast the night before to reduce morning stress and give you something to look forward to.
Speaker 1I don't do that because I feel like I have to make my sandwiches in the morning.
Speaker 2Yeah, they're not good when they lay out like that, no overnight. Because you have hard bread and it goes soft and then it turns into regular bread. Yeah, so I have you considered regular bread?
Speaker 1No, Okay, yeah, and it's the same with the apple. I don't really want to do that either the day before, yeah, because I mean it's already laying there all day, all day, and it's not fresh.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1When I eat it, and it's going to be even less fresh if I do that the day before.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1Did you want to answer the question or did you?
Speaker 2I feel like I've already answered this, because I already prepare my clothes, at least. Yeah. And my lunch is already prepped for me, so I just pull it out. And yeah, lunch is already prepped for me, so I just pull it out and yeah, yeah, but I do fix my life partner's lunch and my kids' snacks for school.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't have to think about those things.
Speaker 2No, lucky yeah.
Speaker 1I still have trouble getting up in the morning, so Unlucky.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's too bad. Number six yeah. Hydrate, first thing, but you don't drink water. No, not, no, no. This is saying a glass of water helps kickstart your metabolism and makes you feel more alert.
Speaker 1Have a glass ready by your bedside if it's easier. Okay, okay, good to know. Yeah, I don't really drink that much water. I don't drink that much at all.
Speaker 2No, I drink a lot of water.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And, as a result, I have to pee every 10 minutes.
Speaker 1I never have to pee.
Speaker 2Ever no. I haven't Maybe once, once a day.
Speaker 1Once a day? Yeah, maybe.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I do drink water first thing in the morning Before you check your weight. No, no, that's good.
Speaker 2Should we go through our morning routines too, because I can do that.
Speaker 1Yeah, yes, we can do that Okay.
Speaker 2My morning routine. So my alarm goes off and I jump out of bed. Right, I go pee because I pee a lot, and then I check my weight, I sit and cry and then I drink water to rehydrate after crying and peeing To refill the tears.
Speaker 2Right, and then I put the dishes away that I had previously put in the dishwasher the night before, and then I feed the bunny, I pour the coffee that was previously prepped for myself, and I find the lunch boxes, and then I prep the lunches and snacks. I do some stretching, I go for a jog, and then I take a shower. This I do every morning, though, but it's just, it's really quick, it's one minute.
Speaker 1Okay, in the shower.
Speaker 2I just get my hair wet and wash off whatever layer of I don't know Sweat, Sweat and sleep oils, whatever yeah, it's really oily. And I get dressed and I lotion my face, I put on my mascara, mascara, mascara, mascara. I lotion my face.
Speaker 1I put on my mascara.
Speaker 2Mascara, mascara, mascara. I fix my hair, I scroll my phone and then I brush my teeth and we get ready to go. Okay, I'll make the bed too. And then we get ready to go. Okay, sick, child and I. Yes, and that's what we do in the morning. Yeah, what about?
Speaker 1you Okay. What about you? Okay, so I wake up, turn the alarm off, sit for about 10 minutes. Then I get up, take my t-shirt on, not my pants, because I'm going to go check my weight and I don't want my pants on for that, because I have heavy pants.
Speaker 2Heavy pants. Heavy pants I'm going to start calling you a heavy pants.
Speaker 1Yeah, so. And then I try to cry, but I can't. I might go to the toilet if I need to, otherwise I don't. And then I go downstairs and make my sandwiches, then I eat some yogurt then I oh, I peel my apples.
Speaker 2Wait, I forgot to mention that I actually drink the tea, or tea the coffee, while I'm scrolling my phone oh, okay I don't just pour the coffee, I also drink it okay okay, sorry you pour it in your lap or your life partner's lap. Where else would I put it?
Speaker 1That's your thing.
Speaker 2Yeah, I like to do that. Is that weird. What would you do with it?
Speaker 1I don't know, I don't like coffee.
Speaker 2You would dump it as well.
Speaker 1Yeah, I would.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Okay so, and then I fix my apple and then I go brush my teeth and everything. What happens next? Yes, I do the rolly thing on my shirt to take off most of the cat hair from my shirts, shirt, shirts, no, from my shirt and pants, and then I go get some deodorant. That sounded weird.
Speaker 2Deodorant. Leave me alone.
Speaker 1What's the word?
Speaker 2Deodorant yeah that.
Speaker 1And then I feed the birds Tuppence, what.
Speaker 2Tuppence a day.
Speaker 1Tuppence, tuppence. Yeah, I don't know. I go outside and feed some birds with bird seeds, I guess that's nice. Yeah, because I mean I have other people feeding the cats, so I don't have to do that, and then I go back inside and get my stuff and then I'm on my way. Yeah, that's kind of it.
Speaker 2Yeah, what I do Cool way. Yeah, that's kind of it. Yeah, what I do Cool, all right, all right. So number seven is do a short morning movement. Okay, even a quick stretch or light exercise can get blood flowing and shake off the grogginess. Try something simple like neck stretches or a brisk walk.
Speaker 1Okay, I was thinking like a sprint, no.
Speaker 2No, a short movement.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's a short movement.
Speaker 2I guess. So Just a short sprint.
Speaker 1A short sprint.
Speaker 2Yeah, sure.
Speaker 1To the scale.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Like 10 steps. Yeah, sprint.
Speaker 2Go as fast as you can. It's like a race with yourself.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Number eight avoid snoozing.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Hitting the snooze button disrupts sleep cycles, leaving you groggy. Commit to getting up when the alarm rings to help train your body.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I am not a snoozer.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1I could not do that, that would just irritate me. I could not do that, that would just irritate me.
Speaker 2I don't trust myself.
Speaker 1I would just be pissed off.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Every time it sounds and I have been with people like that that you know snoozes and in the same room and I'm like what the F? Just stop, go up, you don't lay there. Just go up and turn that thing off and let me sleep.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, my life partner is also a snoozer. Yeah, it's really annoying.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't. I'm really not that kind of person.
Speaker 2Yeah, all right, number nine, last one.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Stick to the routine even on the weekends.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2Waking up at the same time every day, including weekends, reinforces your sleep cycle and makes waking up easier over time.
Speaker 1Yeah, I guess that makes sense, but yeah, I'm not like that.
Speaker 2I do sleep in on the weekends.
Speaker 1I do too.
Speaker 2I get an extra hour of sleep.
Speaker 1Yeah, that sounded like I do too.
Speaker 2So do I.
Speaker 1Yeah, like you told me that I don't, and I'm like I do too like you told me that I don't, and I'm like I do too. Yeah, okay, no, uh yes, I also sleep a few hours extra.
Speaker 2Yeah, I only sleep the one yeah, well, I sleep a few more yeah you're better than me. No, okay, I'm worse than you well, you get more sleep than I do. I do, but I probably feel worse, probably Because I mean if I sleep past like seven, my day is ruined pretty much. If I get too much sleep, I get groggy throughout the day.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I can get headache from sleeping too much.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I think I had that last weekend. That wasn't fun. It feels almost pretty good, uh, sleeping, you know, to few hours. It feels better somehow I don't know I don't know why, but it it does you. You kind of need to be tired.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I don't know. And also I mean, maybe it's because it's easier to fall asleep in the evening later.
Speaker 2Yeah, maybe that's also.
Speaker 1You know that's a good thing, good yeah, because I don't have a problem with that.
Speaker 2No. Absolutely not Me neither I did.
Speaker 1When I was younger, I had really bad problems with falling asleep.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean, I think I can fall asleep within 15 minutes, me too.
Speaker 1Five minutes, that's.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1If I don't have a phone or anything, I can easily fall asleep five minutes.
Speaker 2Yeah, all right. Well, these changes can help your body naturally fall into a rhythm where getting up in the morning isn't such a struggle. So give it a week or two to adjust. If you make adjustments, yeah. Are you going to change your routines?
Speaker 1I probably will not Okay, so we haven't you can continue struggling, then yes. I haven't learned anything. Well, I have, but I will not change anything.
Speaker 2All right, I'm sorry, will you change, I already do everything right.
Speaker 1Oh, okay, there's nothing to change. Oh yeah, you're like that today. I forgot.
Speaker 2So now you've woken up, right.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm awake now.
Speaker 2So how are you going to stay awake?
Speaker 1Yeah, that's a good question.
Speaker 2Here's part two of part two.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2How to stay awake.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2If you're struggling to stay awake, especially during a long day or while studying, here are some practical tips to help you feel more alert and focused.
Speaker 1Yeah, and this also applies for like watching movies.
Speaker 2Watching movies, recording podcasts at midnight all of the above. Okay good, or for long Mondays at work. Yeah, number one stay hydrated. You're really good at that. Dehydration can cause fatigue, matias, so drink water throughout the day did you call me fat yeah fatigue fatigue fatias fatias oh, my god, that's gonna be my.
Speaker 1That was me before. That was me. Me with Weird Al. That was you next to Weird Al. Yeah, that's Fatias right there.
Speaker 2You don't want to meet him again. It's not good, Fatias not Weird Al. Oh my god, of course you want to meet Weird Al again, fatias. Yeah, he don't want to meet Fatias again he doesn't, so aim for a glass every couple of hours. I was gonna say days stay hydrated, so aim for one glass every couple of days yeah, that's about what I drink every couple of hours oh number two take short breaks often, okay if you're watching a movie time for a short break.
Speaker 2All right, we're going to take a break so I can recharge, and yeah, all right.
Speaker 1Okay, so have you what. I feel like we take short breaks during the movies.
Speaker 2Yes, it happens on occasion.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Have you ever heard of the Pomodoro method?
Speaker 1Never.
Speaker 2Okay, so what you do is you work for 25 minutes and then take a five minute break okay and it's supposed to help uh your focus.
Speaker 2So frequent short breaks help keep your mind fresh okay I kind of do that at work, kind of depending on what I'm doing. If it's like a super busy day, then I'll not even bother, but on normal days I will take a quick break every now and then Just breathe or refill my water bottle or something. So that's something to consider. Can we do that during movies? Can we have a timer for like 25 minutes? Watch 25 minutes of the movie, take a five minute break.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I guess we can.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's going to take a lot longer.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Can we do that with the podcast too? Can we take a break every 25 minutes of recording?
Speaker 1Yeah, we're behind on the break takings.
Speaker 2We are. We should take them all at once now. Yeah, I'm not going to do math.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Number three get moving.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Get out Okay, bye, bye. That was only one foot.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was hopping on one foot.
Speaker 2Physical movement boosts energy, even if it's just standing up and stretching or doing a quick lap around the room. Try walking outside for a few minutes, as fresh air helps too.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean that we do.
Speaker 2We do that.
Speaker 1Not during movies, but Not every 25 minutes. No, we don't.
Speaker 2No, it's an idea Number four eat light, balanced meals and snacks.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2For movies. We are not very good at that.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2We eat heavy meals and snack heavily, but avoid heavy meals which can make you sleepy. Opt for light, balanced foods that combine protein and fiber, like nuts, yogurt or fruit, to sustain energy.
Speaker 1Okay, I mean nuts we eat sometimes, and yogurt. We could?
Speaker 2yeah, or Kulf. Yeah, it's called Quark.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh yeah, that's such a weird Weird.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's called quark. Yeah, oh yeah, that's such a weird Weird yeah.
Speaker 1Kulf is much better.
Speaker 2Mm, I could go for Greek yogurt, that's good.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We used to have that for our snacks.
Speaker 1Yeah, remember when we had the kiwi and bananas and all sorts of things. Yeah, was it muesli or granola?
Speaker 2Yeah the granola.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Maybe we should have this as our snack.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 2Nuts, yogurt and fruit.
Speaker 1Yeah, I feel nostalgic about it already, and it's not that long ago, but still.
Speaker 2It's not.
Speaker 1I mean, it's not like it's 10 years ago, it's like a year ago yeah I don't know.
Speaker 2It's a, it's a thought, yeah, although I was looking forward to oreos next week okay, kind of had that today.
Speaker 1Can I bowl right?
Speaker 2yeah, I can dip my, yo my yogurt into my feet, into the yogurt. Also, oreos I can dip my Oreos in the yogurt, or we can have one per movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, that works. That's what we did today, yeah.
Speaker 2Anyway, anyway. Number five use caffeine wisely. Yeah, you take your hand down from your drink. Yeah, yeah, you take your hand down from your drink. Yeah, if you use caffeine, have a coffee or tea, but avoid it in the late afternoon to not disrupt your sleep later.
Speaker 1Yeah, we failed there. Green tea offers a lower caffeine alternative and can provide a gentler energy boost. Yeah, we usually take the black teas.
Speaker 2Yeah, you took a black tea, I took a green tea.
Speaker 1Yeah, it feels like most of the teas. I like teas I like. Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2But you're right.
Speaker 1Are black.
Speaker 2Yeah, I don't know why that is.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2They just maybe those flavors don't go well with green tea. It just doesn't taste the same.
Speaker 1But blueberries, those were green, I don't go well with green tea.
Speaker 2It just doesn't taste the same. But blueberries, those were green, I don't know it just said blueberry. Okay, it didn't say if it was black or green or red or an herbal tea or whatever. It just said blueberry blue, this is blue tea blue tea, blue tea. Blue tea Blue tea.
Speaker 1Ooh, that's a nice blue tea.
Speaker 2It's blue-delicious. Yeah, all right. Number six breathe deeply. Deep breathing exercises increase oxygen to your brain, which can improve focus. Try inhaling deeply for a count of four, holding for four and exhaling for four.
Speaker 3We've done this exercise before. Yes, I remember this. We don't have to do this again.
Speaker 2No, Number seven Turn on bright lights for a movie. Yeah, we need a brighter light in here we need more spotlights. But light exposure helps keep you awake, so make sure your space is well lit. If possible, go outside for some natural sunlight. It is dark out, yeah, I don't know. Some natural sunlight there's no sun.
Speaker 1It's difficult in the middle of the night.
Speaker 2Yeah, I guess. So Number eight here, I guess so Number eight here's a good one. Engage with stimulating content. Can you provide some stimulating content to keep me awake right now? Not doing great so far.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2If you're studying or working on something tedious. Do you know that word?
Speaker 1Tedious, I know those.
Speaker 2Tedious. Oh, it's tiring.
Speaker 1Tedious, oh it's tiring and exhausting.
Speaker 2Yeah, try mixing in different activities that engage your mind, change topics or use different media like videos or audio to keep things interesting. So if you're watching a boring movie, change the movie, make it more exciting.
Speaker 1Yeah, switch to Jackie Chan.
Speaker 2I was thinking about that today. I was going to text you earlier and be like I miss watching Jackie Chan Me too, I was listening to the episode when we were talking about wheels on meals.
Speaker 1And I was like aw, that was like the one before. Who Am I? Mm-hmm? Almost at the end.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh, yeah, I also listened to the next one. So we did watch who Am I and we also did a favorites list. Mm-hmm. I was like I want to watch Jackie Chan again.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was a good year.
Speaker 2Yeah, number nine, keep your posture upright, fix yourself.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Good posture can improve alertness.
Speaker 1Okay, so that was on the list, or did you just want to say that?
Speaker 2to me. Yeah, can you stop slouching?
Speaker 1Let me read the list, yeah.
Speaker 2Sit up straight, as slouching often makes us feel more tired. Yeah. So we're going to start sitting upright while watching movies. Yeah, we need to change our chairs. We need to bring out chairs like that one yeah.
Speaker 1We need to have the straight chairs and the you know the uncomfortable hard chairs.
Speaker 2Yes, wooden chairs. We're going to bring the dining table and chairs out to the living room and watch movies.
Speaker 1Yeah, maybe even put some needles or something. Yeah, so you don't lean back.
Speaker 2No, Last one, number 10. Power nap, if possible.
Speaker 1During movies. Yes, I've done that.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh yeah, definitely Several times.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's what we should say if the other one catches you falling asleep. I'm just power napping.
Speaker 2I'm just taking a power nap so I can watch the end. Yeah. So a quick 10 to 20 minute nap is going to make you miss a lot of the movie, yeah, but it can recharge you. But avoid naps longer than 30 minutes to prevent missing half of the movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, or at least a third, and that's not good. I mean, you have to time it right, so you can take it, take the nap during the boring parts right so you kind of have to know the movie beforehand so you know when you can take the nap yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So it's good to have you around because you've already seen the movies you can be like okay, you need to wake up now.
Speaker 1Yeah, gonna miss the good parts.
Speaker 2Okay, now you can take a nap this is a good time to take a nap and wake up. Avoid naps longer than 30 minutes to prevent groggyness. Napping too late in the day can also affect nighttime sleep. Aw, that was it. Use a mix of these tips to stay alert through the day through your day, I can't read no and keep energy levels steady.
