Speaker 2We're not gonna come up with words at all.
Speaker 1Today, words are Do you have anything to talk about?
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1Okay, please tell me what you want to talk about.
Speaker 2I want to tell you that I am feeling a lot better than I was last week.
Speaker 1A little bit better.
Speaker 2I would say 2% better.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, you seemed like you felt pretty good last week.
Speaker 2Yeah, I was feeling amazing.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I am 2% more than amazing today.
Speaker 1Yeah, you know all the oh my stomach and all that, that was just fake.
Speaker 2Yeah, you know how my acting is. I'm such a good actor. I didn't even take lessons. I was born that way.
Speaker 1Wow, yeah, very cool. Yeah, I wish I was as good of an actor as you are, but I'm not.
Speaker 2I wish you were too.
Speaker 1I wish you were better yeah.
Speaker 2Than you are.
Speaker 1Yeah, I suck at that.
Speaker 2Yes, so shall we.
Speaker 1Maybe we should.
Speaker 2Let's get this over with.
Speaker 1Yeah, all right, okay, whee.
Speaker 2I have larger sips today.
Speaker 1Yeah, you have a monster.
Speaker 2Monster sips.
Speaker 1Yeah yeah, you have a monster Monster chips yeah, skål, skål Good right.
Speaker 2It was that good yeah.
Speaker 1My stomach answered.
Speaker 2Yeah, stomach, stomach, stomach.
Speaker 1I'm a cow All seven.
Speaker 2All seven of my stomachs enjoyed that.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Yes, okay, it's your turn. It's my turn, so apparently it's the editor who.
Speaker 1Yeah, I guess, so says hello.
Speaker 2Mr Editor.
Speaker 1No, you did it. No, I can't.
Speaker 2All I said was hello.
Speaker 1Yeah, exactly, I started it, I guess. Okay well how are you doing today? So that means you have to edit this. Yeah, oh no no, no, no, no I can't do that. No, I could not do that. You could not do that I could not do that. Okay, now we have to shut up so I can start this. Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Mattias.
Speaker 2I'm Lauren. No, oh, no, no.
Speaker 1No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I was going to say yesterday, but it wasn't yesterday. No, it was last week, right? So how are you today?
Speaker 2I am so happy, I'm so thrilled to be here with you.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I'm 2% better than I was last week. Actually, no, I feel way better than last week.
Speaker 1Okay, good, and how are you? I'm even sicker this time. No, I'm kidding, I'm not on the floor. Yeah, I can't stand up anymore.
Speaker 2We've done that. We did that once.
Speaker 1What.
Speaker 2We sat on the floor in there.
Speaker 1Yes, yes, but that's because we didn't have anything else to sit on.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2This room was empty.
Speaker 1And it was echoey, echoey. Okay, so, yes, I'm good. I am much better this week. Good, although I do, you know, sniffle, yep, yep, yep. That's what I do, that's my thing now.
Speaker 2I don't feel like I overate today.
Speaker 1You no.
Speaker 2I know that I did eat more than I usually do.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But I don't have that extreme discomfort. No, that I usually will have on Fridays.
Speaker 1Hmm, did you have that last week?
Speaker 2It is probable.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2That I might have.
Speaker 1Okay, okay.
Speaker 2I had slight discomfort due to over consumption of edible products that are not good for me.
Speaker 1But it's not a drug either. No, it's not drugs.
Speaker 2No, not really. No Cinnamon buns.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Not really cinnamon buns I had one of those. Yeah, there were other buns of different words are not coming easily to me. They're different words than cinnamon buns.
Speaker 1They are buns that were not cinnamon Adjacent to cinnamon buns.
Speaker 2Yeah, adjacent was a big word. Yeah, I know. Yeah, I wasn't really sure about that one.
Speaker 1I learned it from a movie.
Speaker 2Oh wow, I bet you learned all of your words from movies.
Speaker 1That is true, because I mean most of what I learned at school. I don't remember, I mean in school we learned, like British English.
Speaker 2Now you've upgraded to American English.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think I'm leaning more towards American English than British.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Although I say British, say it British-ly.
Speaker 2British-ly yeah, british-ly, yeah. That's a thing I think.
Speaker 1Yeah, now it is. If it wasn't, it is now.
Speaker 2Right, so we're doing good.
Speaker 1We are All right. Are we gonna wait with the weight? Right, I think we should wait with the weight until it's time to talk about weight okay, so we're gonna do the week first we're gonna do the week and then the weight week wait.
Speaker 2Yes, you have to wait until the end of the week to hear about the weight yeah, wait, wait a minute, um wait a week. Wait a week and then we will. Yeah, you know what, you can wait a week and then we'll tell you about our weight, because I don't want to talk about my weight. I want to talk about the week.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2Wait for the week and then you get to hear about the weight.
Weekly Recap With Fun Anecdotes
Speaker 1Yep, the people are so bored right now, but we're not Get to the point. Exactly.
Speaker 2So last weekend I took Sick Child and my life partner to the city a bigger city, and that was the name of the city. Right, we went out to and we played at a playground. I think, again the same one, yep. And what else did we do? We stopped by McDonald's and I got to sit and watch people eat McDonald's. I did not order a single thing. I was very proud of myself, and then we went home. Wait, we didn't have Mad Libs last weekend.
Speaker 1We did.
Speaker 2We did. We didn't just go home. We found you somewhere. Yeah, you appeared here somehow.
Speaker 1I was working.
Speaker 2Oh right.
Speaker 1I picked you up. Yes, you were.
Speaker 2And that's how you arrived here. Yeah, you did and I I didn't pick you up, we all picked you up.
Speaker 1Yeah, all people.
Speaker 2Everyone picked you up.
Speaker 1Yeah. And we all cheered yeah, yay, matthias is back all the people were fighting about me no, I don't want to pick him up. No, it was actually more like no you, you have to pick him up. No, you.
Speaker 2And I can pick you up now yeah, yeah, because I'm so light we're gonna get to that yeah, you have to wait for the wait yeah, wait a week wait, wait for the week, and then we'll talk about weight um so yeah, wait a week for the weight, okay.
Speaker 1So, uh, I, I was working right on saturday and I had a cold, but I didn't care. I I want the money.
Speaker 2So I worked anyways anyways, yeah, you spent the night.
Speaker 1I did, and then you went to work.
Speaker 2Well, I brought you to work.
Speaker 1Yes, you did.
Speaker 2And then we picked you up from work and you came right back here and we did live Mad Libs, yeah, and it was fun, yes.
Speaker 1Before we did live Mad Libs Right, we were playing a game.
Speaker 2We played Exploding Kittens.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2It was interesting and you're only excited about it because you won. I did. Somehow.
Speaker 1Yeah, no one knows how, but you did.
Speaker 2And that is your special talent.
Speaker 1Yeah, because I had no idea what I was doing. No, and somehow I win.
Speaker 2Yeah, you managed to win.
Speaker 1Yeah, and it's not the first time.
Speaker 2No, you do that like almost every time.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Except for when I cheat, and make myself win. Yeah, because you win too much.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2I want to win sometimes too.
Speaker 1Yeah, so I have to cheat. Yeah, when you do that, I get upset.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's okay.
Speaker 1But not this time, because I won.
Speaker 2Yeah, you were happy this time because you won.
Speaker 1Yeah, Okay so. So we did that we did that. Live Mad Libs went well.
Speaker 2Went. Well, it was fun.
Speaker 1It was fun.
Speaker 2It was fun, and then Sunday happened.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2And I did a bunch of cleaning, I guess.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't think I did much. We didn't see each other that day. No, I didn't meet at all.
Speaker 2No, it's cold outside, so I didn't want to go for a walk and I was so busy with cleaning and I really wanted to catch up on my to do list so I decided we're not gonna go for a walk.
Speaker 1No, and was still having my cold and I'm like I know you want to go for a walk, so I I'm gonna go with you, even though I still have a cold and don't really feel like going for a walk. But um, then you said let's not.
Speaker 2And I'm like, okay, perfect it was good for both of us, yeah so yeah it, it was good and then monday yeah monday. I I mean, we worked like we usually do, nothing exciting about that I don't think so but I went to a yoga class oh yeah I did yoga. Um, it was more of like the relaxed kind of yoga. Okay, I was expecting like a kind of training yoga, you were sleeping. It was like a sleep prep yoga.
Speaker 1You were preparing your body to sleep.
Speaker 2It felt like. Okay, it was mostly just like stretching.
Speaker 1And reading a night-night book.
Speaker 2Right, a night-night book. They read a book to me and I said night-night, night-night, bye-bye.
Speaker 1And then the little elephant went into his bed.
Speaker 2Yeah, we have that book actually.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2So yeah, I did yoga and it was nice.
Speaker 1It's one of my favorite books, by the way.
Speaker 2Yeah, well, the thing is that this yoga was really good because I came home afterwards and I was like so relaxed and I was nice to the kids. What? Yeah, I know it's so. Unlike me, I am a mean mom, I am a grumpy mom and I'm tired. But, I came back and I was like relaxed and I felt good and I was like I want to hear what you have to say to me, like please tell me everything that you have to say yeah, okay, not you.
Speaker 1You were looking at me, so I'm like what do you want me to say?
Speaker 2I want you to tell me about your day except I need to do yoga first. Okay, before, listen to you so that I will be more willing to hear what you want to tell me.
Speaker 1So this wasn't the last time you're doing yoga.
Speaker 2Probably not. I might do it again.
Speaker 1On Mondays.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, it was at 6. So I had that short span to eat my dinner, which apparently is good for me. I need things to do, or else I consume everything. I lose control apparently.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, good.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2Tuesday Tuesday was a day. Nothing super exciting about that.
Speaker 1I don't think so.
Speaker 2That was the day when I was Jesus. Please tell the people about that. I don't think so. That was the day when, um, I was jesus please tell the people about that okay, so I'm gonna tell you my story about when I was jesus yeah, you walked on water.
Speaker 1No, no, I didn't okay no, I opened the door and yeah, just like j.
Speaker 2Yeah, I opened a door, like Jesus would do, naturally, and apparently I startled a guy who was in front of me and he looks at me and he says Jesus. I was like no, lauren, my name is so difficult.
Speaker 1Yeah, but no, it was just so funny, get it wrong all the time it was so funny because the timing was just so serious.
Speaker 2Like no, lauren, yeah, I never think of things like that.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2I did and I thought it was so funny.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, it was good Thank you.
Speaker 2I don't know if he got it, but I think he was very confused, but he walked out the door anyway.
Speaker 1Yeah, but I got it, yeah, and I thought it was funny. Thank you, because I was there.
Speaker 2That's all that matters really I think is that you got it?
Speaker 1Yeah, you witnessed yes, I witnessed you being Jesus for a brief moment.
Speaker 2Yes, yeah, that was my Tuesday story.
Speaker 1It was funny.
Speaker 2It was.
Speaker 1I don't have a funny story for her.
Speaker 2No, no, no, that's too bad.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm not that exciting.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1I'm more like Judas.
Speaker 2Is that less exciting?
Speaker 1It means that I'm going to betray you at some point, I think. I believe that yeah, and get you crucified.
Speaker 2I believe that too.
Speaker 1So we'll see when.
Speaker 2All right.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2We went to the gym on Wednesday. It was not that fun and exciting because there were people everywhere.
Speaker 1Yeah, we couldn't stick to our plan.
Speaker 2And our plan was so minimal.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean we wanted to bike.
Speaker 2We just wanted to bike for like half an hour.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We ended up doing the escalator thing. No, that's not the word.
Speaker 1No Cross trainer.
Speaker 2Elliptical? No, we rode the escalator the entire time. Yeah, it's an elliptical.
Speaker 1I think A cross trainer Is that the same thing. I think so what's?
Speaker 2the difference? Is it the same thing?
Speaker 1I'm not sure, but I call it a cross trainer.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1No, I just wanted to. You can look it up. Sure, I just wanted to rant about people. Look it up. Sure, I just wanted to rant about people. You know, when there are three bikes, like there is at our gym, right, you know normal bikes.
Speaker 2Normal bikes, yes, not the uncomfortable ones, no exactly.
Speaker 1There's two in the back and one in front of them, and if you're one person, why can't you just take the one in front, so two people who are together, training together, could use the ones in the back?
Speaker 2Yeah, that's true. On the other hand, though, I am guilty of taking the bike that I usually will bike on, even when you're not there.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2So I am one of those people who takes one of the bikes in the back.
Speaker 1Yeah, but this concerns me the most when we want to bike together so we can talk to each other while biking Right.
Speaker 2While biking.
Speaker 1Right, and when one person is sitting on one of our bikes and the other one in front, it's not occupied. That makes me upset, or, yeah, not happy it was annoying yeah, anyway. Anyway.
Speaker 2The gym wasn't great, but we survived anyway.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I don't know the difference between cross-train and elliptical, and it doesn't matter. I think, we're both right.
Speaker 2We are both right. Neither of us were really up for going to the gym. Anyway, you still weren't feeling well, and I was just so tired.
Speaker 1True.
Speaker 2But we got the minimal done and we got out of there. Thursday was yesterday. I did not go to my gymnastics that I usually go to.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2I stayed home and I prepped for Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2We got a good-sized turkey this year. I'm very excited yeah.
Speaker 1I didn very excited. Yeah, I didn't do much yesterday, no, but today. Today is Friday it is and Is it time for the wait? Wait with the wait a little bit, because we continued the prepping today.
Speaker 2Right, right. Yes, we did. You did the veggie prep.
Speaker 1I did today. Right Right, yes, we did. You did the veggie prep.
Speaker 2I did, and I did help more this time than I have done before.
Speaker 1You did all the veggies, all the veggies.
Speaker 2You did all the food prep. Yes, very good.
Speaker 1Yes, I'm proud of that.
Speaker 2I'm proud of you.
Speaker 1Yeah, because I usually just do one or two things and then I'm like, okay, I'm done, all done, but today I just did like all what I was supposed to do.
Speaker 2You were a trooper.
Speaker 1Hmm.
Speaker 2And I baked pine and I fixed the turkey, and or I salted the turkey and put it in water.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh yeah, someone's going to slap that thing tomorrow, oh yeah, someone's going to slap that thing.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, someone's gonna slap that turkey. Yeah, yeah, slap the bird. It's a tradition. Now I guess, yeah, and what else do we do? That was it. I made dinner. I mean, what did I miss something?
Speaker 1no, okay, I, I just had to burp and I did it.
Speaker 2Uh, internally um, yeah, I made tomato soup.
Speaker 1It was really good.
Speaker 2And grilled cheeses. Yeah, I like they were air fried cheeses though.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, I liked the bread with, and the soup was good, the bread was good, everything was really good, okay so Okay, sorry, is it time for wait now. Now we can wait. Okay, now we can do the wait. We have already waited, so it's time for the thing we have waited for.
Speaker 2I'm going to prepare you here. I feel ginormous.
Speaker 1Which is a word, by the way it is. We or I looked that up. Yeah, because it's to me that word sounds like something a kid would make up. You know, fuse the words giant and enormous into one, so that's what I always thought it was.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Just a you know kid word.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1But it wasn't. It's an actual word.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I mean I'm feeling giant and enormous.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Also huge and possibly large.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So Hularginormous is how I'm feeling right now. Yes, hularginormous, it could be a Title.
Speaker 1Title it could be a title. It could be a dinosaur.
Speaker 2It sounds like a dinosaur.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So if I were a dinosaur, then I would be a Hular ginormousaurus.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I mean if that was a dinosaur.
Speaker 1It rolls off the tongue.
Speaker 2If that was a dinosaur, what would it look like?
Speaker 1It would be big, uh-huh.
Speaker 2Or if it's ironic, it would be really small, it would be big, uh-huh. Or if it's ironic, it would be really small, it would be short and fat.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, yes, yeah, it's. Uh, it's wide, wider than tall and tall yeah, that's true um so it's sorry, I still like that.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah and um, spoiler alert. And that's not gonna get much better, especially since we're doing thanksgiving this weekend. And yeah, um, do you have your numbers? I think so do you know, compared to last friday? Where are you at?
Speaker 1yes, I'm pretty sure, because I wrote it this morning so I can look it up, just to be on the safe side. Okay, so from last week I Lost 1.3 kilograms.
Speaker 2Good job.
Speaker 1Thank you.
Speaker 2A bit better than me, okay.
Speaker 1How much did you lose?
Speaker 2Being the euloginormosaurus that I am, I gained 2.4 kilos.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It's still not three.
Speaker 1So if you want to, you can say that you did minus minus 2.4.
Speaker 2I guess so If you want to double negative it.
Speaker 1Yeah. And we'll see how we do next week. Does it make you feel better?
Speaker 2No, okay, I still don't feel better.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2We'll see if I gain or lose anything next week.
Speaker 1It's going to be interesting.
Speaker 2Yes, hope for the best.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Low expectations, though.
Speaker 1Yeah, please no Be nice to me. Don't get high, okay Expectations.
Speaker 2Don't get high.
Speaker 1Expectations.
Speaker 2It's also Friday, so would you like to move on?
Speaker 1Yeah, let's move on.
Movie Discussion and Christmas Traditions
Speaker 2Okay, tonight we watched hold on, let it come to me North. Also, we watched Blackjack, yes, so I'm going to tell you about North. Okay, this is a movie with Bruce Willis.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Also Young Frodo.
Speaker 1Yeah, elijah Wood. Yes.
Speaker 2So Young Frodo is a child, of course, because he's young yeah.
Speaker 1What's his name in the movie North? Oh, okay.
Speaker 2And he is not satisfied with his life because his parents don't pay attention to him. So he goes to court and gets permission to look for new parents right Yep. And so he goes around the world and searches for new parents. Yep, and that's what happens.
Speaker 1Yep and all the characters are so stereotypical.
Speaker 2Yes, reba McEntire is in this movie.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2And she's with Dan Aykroyd. Yeah, they are a set of parents, potential parents. Oh yeah, bruce Willis, where is he in this movie? He is a random guy in every place that young Frodo is at. Yeah, Like everywhere Frodo goes. Bruce Willis is there somehow yeah and he's like a guardian angel in a way yeah, and also the narrator narrator of the movie hate that word. Narrator narrator narrator. Um. So yeah, bruce willis is there, which which makes this a Bruce Willis movie.
Speaker 1I mean he doesn't have a very large role, but he's still.
Speaker 2It's reoccurring, yeah, so it counts.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's why I thought yeah, I mean that's good enough. Yeah, I mean he's more in this movie than he was in Split.
Speaker 2Yeah, I guess so. Spoiler alert for Split by the way, I'm going to let you know that I did enjoy this movie. It was very funny.
Speaker 1It was.
Speaker 2It made me laugh a lot at some of the dumbest things it feels like, yeah, it was really stupid there were a couple jokes there that I just I kind of lost it and it just it felt so dumb, but it was so funny. Yeah, I did enjoy this movie a lot.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2What did you think?
Speaker 1I also enjoyed this movie. This was the first time I saw the whole thing it was, and because I I've only seen bits and pieces of it. But it was nice to finally see the you know entire thing.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And yeah, I mean this movie was panned by critics when it was released and I mean it is very stupid humor, but it's funny.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1To me and you know I have stupid humor, so yeah, that's perfect for me. Uh, perfect for an amish like me I got that.
Speaker 2Yeah, I got that because I'm a fan yeah, yes, and also made me think about the amish people in the movie.
Speaker 1That's one of the things you were laughing at.
Speaker 2Yeah, Very much, by the way. Oh, when the airplane was like zoom out of there yeah, so funny he was like absolutely not.
Speaker 1Yeah, I did really enjoy this one. A lot of the known faces in this one, or at least to me.
Speaker 2Yeah, I recognized a lot of people, at least two or three, at least like two.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, elijah Wood and Bruce Willis and Dan Aykroyd and Reba oh, I don't know her that well.
Speaker 2John Lovitz.
Speaker 1John Lovitz, jason Alexander.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Speaker 2Huh.
Speaker 1Kathy Bates.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, she was in this one too, the queen.
Speaker 1The bad guy from Die Hard. One of the bad guys from Die Hard. Right, he was in Die Hard. Right he was in this movie. Yeah, I think his name was like Alexander Goodnob or something like that. He was one of the Amish people. Yeah, so many known faces and I know I forget some people. Scarlett Johansson was in this one, oh yeah. John Ritter. Yeah, I love that guy.
Speaker 2Yeah, lots of people.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Good movie.
Speaker 1It was Pleasantly surprised.
Speaker 2Yes, yeah.
Speaker 1Yes, so. And then we watched another Swedish movie, right Called Blackjack.
Speaker 2It's not a Swedish title.
Speaker 1No, well, it's the name of a band in the movie.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1So this movie is about what we call dansband, dansband, dansband. Yeah, I don't know how. What would you describe it like? That music style, is it? What would you describe it like that music style? It's almost like country-ish, but not really.
Speaker 2It's oh goodness, it's happy music, I don't know. It's like happy rock in a way. Yeah, really like uppy and dancey.
Speaker 1Yeah, and also like saxophones.
Speaker 2There are saxophones.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But Meatloaf also had saxophones.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And he was rock.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So I'm sticking to that.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Happy rock.
Speaker 1Yeah, and with a little touch of country, I would say yeah, and I like that kind of music.
Speaker 2I do too.
Speaker 1I don't understand why people are so against it here. Many people don't like it.
Speaker 2They play it on like cruises and stuff. And it's really fun. Yeah, and it's made for people to dance to yeah, so why don't people like happy music, I don't know, but so this movie is, I mean it has a complicated relationship story kind of and I girl situation.
Speaker 1It's not really. Uh, paint your wagon.
Speaker 2Situation no, it's um not with consent no non-consent consensual.
Speaker 1Uh, paint your wagon situation no, and I mean, I think the girl makes very stupid decisions in this movie, absolutely. And yeah, and I feel so bad for one of the guys, so, yeah, I don't want to spoil it too much, but that's what it is about, and also some dancing and one drunk character.
Speaker 2Very drunk.
Speaker 1Yeah, he gets so drunk and does stupid things while drunk. Yeah, it's more of a drama sprinkled with some comedy, I guess.
Speaker 2And it takes place in Gävle, yeah, which is not super far from here.
Speaker 1No, we've both been there, Yep not at the same time. No, I don't think so, and it takes place at Christmas time, or Christmas and New Year's.
Speaker 2What were you doing in Gävle?
Speaker 1I've been there a couple times. I remember the first time I was very young, I think I just went there with my relatives, my my mom and dad and sister, and my uncle and his wife okay and uh, it was just a you know road trip, cool, very nice we we had an rv you know, road trip Cool, very nice.
Speaker 2Yeah, we had an RV you know, oh, yeah, yeah, so nice.
Speaker 1And then I've been there with the Tivoli, mm-hmm, the carnival.
Speaker 2Yeah, when you worked there.
Speaker 1Yeah, and that was also nice. Yeah, although that was more work, but I never seen Jävla Bokken.
Speaker 2Mm-hmmcken because it's.
Speaker 1It's never been at christmas time for me okay it would be cool, though, if it to see the actual thing. If it's up, it depends on how long it's up for yeah, that's true, people like to set it on fire yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2Because it's made out of hay.
Speaker 1It is and like.
Speaker 2A jævla bokken. Maybe we should like explain what that is Okay. Yes, it's what A giant goat made out of hay.
Speaker 1Yeah, pretty much, because goats made out of hay is a Christmas thing here.
Speaker 2Yeah, they are decorations.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2People make goats out of hay. Yeah, they are decorations.
Speaker 1Yeah, people make goats out of hay. Yep, hay goats, yeah, hay goats, hay goats, yeah, so that's actually a kind of big thing in Sweden. Yeah, yeah, no, I really like, I did like the movie. What did you think about the movie?
Speaker 2I Did. I like the movie, you, I liked the movie. What did you think?
Speaker 1about the movie I did. I like the movie you, I liked the music.
Speaker 2I didn't care for the storyline, really no, the drunk guy was funny. Yeah, I might have seen this movie before, because I did remember one scene, the one scene. I don't remember the rest of the movie, but I only remember this one scene, when they were doing the lucia train yeah which is also a swedish thing it is and um, the drunk guy calls out the girl who is supposed to be yeah acting as lucia yeah, like the front and center.
Speaker 2Yeah, and he yells at her saying that Lucia is supposed to be a virgin. And I know that I've mentioned that at lunch before.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And people were all confused.
Speaker 1Yeah, I have to say that I have not seen the entire movie before, also bits and pieces. Seen the entire movie before, also bits and pieces. Uh, so so I had not seen that scene before so okay, you must have seen that it's very possible. I've seen this movie before, but I know I've seen that scene yeah, okay, yeah, and I also think it's kind of funny how the drunk guy always said that he had a blackout and then when he starts mentioning things that happened while he was drunk, and they're like uh.
Speaker 2I don't think you blacked out right.
Speaker 1How can you remember that if you blacked?
Speaker 2out yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was an okay movie then.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was alright movie.
Speaker 1Then, yeah, it was all right. Yeah, okay, okay. So now it's time for a break, I guess I guess we're gonna take a break.
Speaker 2Yeah, so we will be right back, yep.
Speaker 1Hello and welcome back.
Speaker 2Hello.
Speaker 1That's it.
Speaker 2Hello.
Speaker 1Yeah, Lauren is flying around the room right now. I don't know how, but she just started to fly.
Speaker 2I want to hop with you all night well, you, you fly okay, you don't hop um, it's a long hop it's a long hop from here, matthias yes hello, hello, did you enjoy your break? I did was it the best break ever? I had better all right, I had better. Alright, I'm not 100% satisfied with my break.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Would you like to take extra break?
Speaker 1I would like to redo my break.
Speaker 2Alright, we will be right back. No.
Speaker 1You get one chance, you only get one shot.
Speaker 2Do not miss your chance. What's the words?
Speaker 1I blew it. Yeah you blew it, I blew it, I blew it.
Speaker 2This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.
Speaker 1Is this the Weird Al, or is it Eminem?
Speaker 2This is Eminem, this is Enema.
Speaker 1Enema yes.
Speaker 2All right. So, Matias, what are we doing today?
Speaker 1We are yeah.
Speaker 2That's the question. Would?
Speaker 1I would, you would. I would like to know how to Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2Are we going to give out some advice today?
Speaker 1I think so because I really don't know how to Thanksgiving, Are you?
Speaker 2going to have your own Thanksgiving. Maybe Are we going to have your own Thanksgiving Maybe. Are we going to have rival like?
Speaker 1Thanksgiving. Yeah, I'm like I can improve this.
Speaker 2I can do this better than you?
Speaker 1Yeah, you're kind of suck at it. Oh, am I invited?
Speaker 2to your Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1Well, I know you're going to steal my ideas.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1And obviously. Well, all my stuff.
Speaker 2All the stuff I'm going to steal your food.
Speaker 1And have your own Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1I know.
Speaker 2So Thanksgiving was technically last Thursday, but we in Sweden do not get Thursday off from work, off from work. So we are celebrating tomorrow, which is Saturday, which is last Saturday, from Tuesday when this is published, when you may or may not be listening to this. So for people who don't know how to Thanksgiving today, I'm going to tell you how to Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1Very good.
Speaker 2Brought to you by open eyes, as always, of course, ai just because yeah, because yeah that's right okay that was ai thanksgiving is a time to gather with loved ones, reflect on gratitude and enjoy delicious food. Here's a simple guide to celebrating Thanksgiving. Okay, so number one plan the day. Okay, very important to plan and have everything written down.
Speaker 1Oh, have you planned anything?
Speaker 2I've planned everything. So you got to set a time and date, or else people don't know when to show up.
Speaker 1I thought you were going to say shut up. They don't know when to shut up. You have to plan when they need to shut up.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1It's time to shut up now.
Speaker 2And eat.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, so Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the US.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And then you have Black Friday. You also need to invite guests, okay.
Speaker 1So decide, you also need to invite guests.
Speaker 2Okay, so decide, you get to pick and choose who you get to invite.
Speaker 1Okay. Does it say how many?
Speaker 2No, it says. Decide if you want a small family gathering or a larger celebration with friends.
Speaker 1Okay, so you pick the other one.
Speaker 2I don't have much family here. I have my children. You have your family here.
Speaker 1Yeah, you have your life partner and.
Speaker 2My children.
Speaker 1Your children.
Speaker 2And that's my family, that's your family and you, because apparently my gymnasts think that you're my brother.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2So you're my brother now and you are also invited.
Speaker 1I mean, it's really your sister that's not here, right, she is not close by.
Speaker 2No, I mean, we have chosen family members.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 2Number two kind of important.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Prepare the meal.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Okay, oh. So some examples of what you would have for Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Turkey, the centerpiece of the Thanksgiving dinners. Roast fry or smoke it, depending on your preference.
Speaker 1Roasty.
Speaker 2Roasty toasty turkey.
Speaker 1Yeah, roasty, toasty turkey.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I like that.
Speaker 2Some signs. Common options include mashed potatoes, stuffings, green beans, cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes. We have everything except for the cranberry sauce.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2Because we don't like cranberry sauce.
Speaker 1We don't.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1I really don't know. I know what it is, but I don't know how it tastes.
Speaker 2All right, it's like Jell-O or something I don't know, I mean.
Speaker 1I'm saying no, I knew it was thromba, but I really don't know what the taste of that is.
Speaker 2No, we're not going to find out Desserts pumpkin pie, pecan pie or apple pie are classics. We go for pumpkin pie and chocolate pie, although pecan pie and apple pie sound amazing too, but I'm not going to add two more pies. Oh, we also have corn muffins, cornbread muffins.
Speaker 1Okay, oh yeah.
Speaker 2They always come out really dry. We'll see what happens. It also mentions dietary needs, so consider vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options for guests with dietary restrictions.
Speaker 1That's you.
Speaker 2My dietary needs go out the window, yeah.
Speaker 1For Thanksgiving, yeah, but if it would have been a normal day, that would have been you.
Speaker 2That would have been me. I would have been like I can't have that or that, I can have the turkey.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's a lot you can't have, if you would.
Speaker 2Yeah, I could have the turkey and the green beans probably, yeah.
Speaker 1That's it.
Speaker 2That's all I get. I can't even have pie. That's sad. Number three decorate, oh, Use fall-themed decorations like pumpkins, leaves, candles or cornucopia centerpiece.
Speaker 1Have you decorated much?
Speaker 2We have some pumpkins in the kitchen.
Speaker 1Well, I don't feel those were put there for Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2No, they were there for Halloween too.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We grew the pumpkins and then just kind of put them on the kitchen floor and that's where they are. They are decoration now, yeah, but one of them is kind of cool because there was a cat that scratched at it and it has these scratch marks on it.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's really cool. It's like scars on the pumpkin.
Speaker 2Yeah, my pumpkin is scarred.
Speaker 1Yes, scarred pumpkin.
Speaker 2And we can't really bring any leaves in because it started snowing on Wednesday.
Speaker 1Yeah, well, you could have before.
Speaker 2I was not prepared.
Speaker 1Wasn't one of the points that you're supposed to?
Speaker 2be. You're supposed to be prepared and I was not prepared, not for snow. Okay, we have candles. We can light some candles, I guess.
Speaker 1Yeah, another thing, isn't it like usually snowing in Sweden?
Speaker 2Sometimes it does. Yeah, it's happened a couple times yeah.
Speaker 1Are you one of those who get surprised every time it starts to snow Like what?
Speaker 2What's this? It's more like really, I'm more annoyed yeah okay like really already yeah, some people seem to get surprised when it starts to snow yeah, like it does every year yeah, well, I know it's supposed to snow, but yeah, every time it's like already, even though it's like the typical time for it to start snowing.
Speaker 1I mean, it's so soon, it's November, it's too early for snow.
Speaker 2Can it wait for December, when it's like supposed to snow?
Speaker 1That would be good, but no, this will melt and then ice, and I don't think it will be much snow for Christmas, when it's supposed to be snow, and then in, like January, february.
Speaker 2February is the worst.
Speaker 1Those are snowy months. Those are the snowiest months.
Speaker 2All right, so set the table with festive napkins, plates and seasonal colors like orange, red and gold.
Speaker 1Okay, gold.
Speaker 2We do have the tablecloth that we have people sign.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, that's a good tradition, it's a fun tradition.
Speaker 2I love that one. That's my favorite. Number four is express gratitude. Yes, take a moment before or during the meal to share what you're thankful for. This could be done through toast a toast, not through toast we have a slice of toast, we make a hole in it and then you talk through it, I'm thankful for toast.
Speaker 1Roasty, toasty, gooshy.
Speaker 2A toast, a prayer or a round of sharing.
Speaker 1So we have gone through roast and now toast.
Speaker 2So where's the ghost? Yeah? We're going to find out okay.
Speaker 1I hope there will be a ghost.
Speaker 2That would be great.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2This is our holiday.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Because next week will be two years of recording.
Speaker 1Yeah, and it started on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2Well, yeah, the week after Around, yeah.
Speaker 1Around Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2We were a little late, but yeah, yeah. Number five activities Watch the parade. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a popular tradition. I really try to get the kids into this, but they're like it's so long and boring.
Speaker 1I have seen some of that. Yeah, I don't know, maybe not my thing.
Speaker 2You can also play games like board games or trivia, or football in the snow are fun options.
Speaker 1Yeah, are we playing games.
Speaker 2We can play game. We have games to play.
Speaker 1We did last year, oh, it was so funny. It was so funny. We can play games. Yeah, we have games to play. We did last year. Oh, it was so funny.
Speaker 2It was so funny, we were also drunk.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Oh, you had that weird strawberry daiquiri drink last year and I was like bleh.
Speaker 1It tasted like Nippon soppa.
Speaker 2Bleh.
Speaker 1Brought memories from my childhood Without the alcohol in my childhood.
Speaker 2I made jello shots this year, so we'll be good. You can also volunteer. Some people choose to give back by helping at a local shelter or food bank.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, I've seen that in movies.
Speaker 2I've never done that myself, though.
Speaker 1No, but I've seen it in movies.
Speaker 2Number six is the last one.
Speaker 1The last one, the last one.
Speaker 2Yeah, relax, relax.
Speaker 1Okay, relax.
Speaker 2After the meal, unwind with your loved ones, watch a holiday movie or enjoy leftovers together.
Speaker 1Okay, so what holiday movie should they watch?
Speaker 2We watch planes, trains and automobiles.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2And we also have the other one Free Bird.
Speaker 1Yeah, Free Birds or Free Bird. Yeah, with the voices of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Good movies. I like both of them.
Speaker 2Yeah, and we usually will watch planes, trains and automobiles while the turkey is in the oven. So yeah watch planes, trains and automobiles, while the turkey is in the oven.
Speaker 1So yeah, and there's one scene in the movie you had to warn your kids about, or you did I did and they got all excited yeah, they never watch movies with us otherwise right but that when you warned them about one scene, they're like oh, maybe we should watch this.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's like they say some words in this scene. They're like we're going to watch it and then they laugh the entire time. Yeah, that was the end of that.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So, matias, please will you tell me what is it that is ruining your life right now?
Speaker 1I will tell you that it's my lower back. All right, Okay, I've been working in hell for so many weeks now and I don't like it, and I've been lifting heavy stacks of books and my lower back is killing me.
Speaker 2Yeah, I bet.
Speaker 1I can really feel the pain there now and I'm so done with that. I don't want to be there, yeah. But I can't complain about it either to the bosses, because they will just put me on something else in the same department and it will be more stressful work. So I'm happy with doing what I'm doing, but I'm not happy with my broken back.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1So what's ruining your life?
Speaker 2Um, I'm not going to complain about my weight this week.
Speaker 1No, maybe that you're a week early.
Speaker 2The fact that I'm a week early for Thanksgiving. I was so excited. I can't wait another week, come on, I don't know. I think it's the fact that I have to pee all the time.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2That kind of ruins my life often.
Speaker 1Yeah, so.
Speaker 2Because it feels like I go pee and then I just I have to pee again.
Speaker 1Yeah, Right after I peed. Okay, so while peeing maybe.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Darn it, I have to pee again Done, oh, Like I thought I was.
Speaker 2I was ready to go and then I had to pee again. Yeah yeah, it takes a lot of time out of my days.
Speaker 1Yeah you, you're like almost out the door. Yeah, you're like almost out the door, Right. And then you're like, nope, Gotta pee again.
Speaker 2Yep, there's like someone waiting outside the door is like sorry man, I have to pee again.
Speaker 1Yeah, you open, close, open close that door.
Speaker 2That's all I do all day is just go pee constantly. Yeah, you can't even drink anything in between, but you still have tons of fluids in me, yeah.
Speaker 1I guess you don't even know how it's possible.
Speaker 2Well, I'm all out of sips.
Speaker 1Me too. That means we're all out of episode.
