Two Years of Roasty Toasty
Speaker 1I am kinda big.
Speaker 2I am kinda big.
Speaker 1In a world where everything is unscripted this is Ghosty Talks.
Speaker 2Alright, ready? Yes, I'm ready.
Speaker 1Could you hear that? That can sounded different. It wasn't the typical monster or noca-cola.
Speaker 2Does it sound like a ghostie?
Speaker 1Yeah, it kind of did.
Speaker 2Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghostie.
Speaker 1Hello, my name is.
Speaker 2My name is Lauren.
Speaker 1And I'm Matias.
Speaker 2And we are the hosties of this super amazing podcast. We're going to be your besties for the next hour or so. Yep, and I'm going to start this off by saying that last week I got a super special box with presents from the States, from my sister.
Speaker 1From your sister.
Speaker 2And it held gifts for Thanksgiving, thanksgiving gifts.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I guess that's a thing now. Inside this box of gifts we were provided a variety of energy drinks to try by the brand Ghost Energy, Zero Sugar. Last week we did open up one of the cans and try it out, but we had the Sour Patch. Kids Blue Raspberry. Yeah, what did you think of that one?
Speaker 1I think I liked it All right.
Speaker 2I thought it tasted like blue raspberry.
Speaker 1Okay, so it did the job.
Speaker 2It tasted like it was supposed to taste like.
Speaker 1Good.
Speaker 2Today I chose orange cream Yep, yeah, we got one of each flavor. Yeah. So this chose orange cream Yep, yeah, we got one of each flavor yeah, so this is orange cream. I'm just going to read the back, if that's all right with you. Okay, it has legendary energy. It provides epic focus. So we better be focused during this next hour or so.
Speaker 1It has zero sugars.
Speaker 2You're not going to like it.
Speaker 1I'm not the biggest fan of the zero sugar. I want sugar in my beverages.
Speaker 2All right, there's no artificial colors. Now we've split this into our ghosty glasses and it has a tint of yellowish, maybe.
Speaker 1Yeah, pea color.
Speaker 2Very hydrated pea.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's not the yellowest one. No but it's not clear either.
Speaker 2No, it's hydrated pea, not completely water. So there's no artificial colors. That's cool. There's zero sugar per can, zero fat per can, which I would be concerned if there was fat in my energy drinks, which. I would be concerned if there was fat in my energy drinks. Zero artificial colors Transparent label. The label is not transparent. I cannot see into the can.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2With 200 milligrams of natural caffeine. Yeah, that's pretty cool, huh.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2So enough of that. Maybe we should try it.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2Cheers, clonk, clon. We should try it yeah okay, cheers Clonk. Clonk All right, yeah, interesting.
Speaker 1It's okay, all right, but I can still, you know, taste the zero sugar.
Speaker 2Oh, you want me to drink that for you.
Speaker 1No, it's okay, All right, it was nice that we got them though. Yeah, it was really nice, uh, and we also got tea, right, we got pumpkin spice tea yeah which is really good yeah, it's really good.
Speaker 2We usually have them for work yeah, we have tea time before we start work yeah, we have a tea story, but maybe we should save it for later. I haven't started drinking yet other than this energy drink.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2But it is two years of Roasty Toasty Ghosty.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We should be celebrating, yeah, so how are we going to celebrate?
Speaker 1By drinking.
Speaker 2Yeah, so alongside our energy drink on the drink menu today, we have already consumed a jello shot with vodka. We also have Bailey's special edition apple crumble. I'm going to mix with some milk and we have some wine white Zinfandel, pink wine, we like, we like pink drinks.
Speaker 1Did you say white infidel?
Speaker 2Zinfandel.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2Let's get it started no party, party no gonna take like apple caramel, apple also crumbles and maybe some pie. Did I mention the pie? No caramel okay apples, caramel crumbles and pie. Maybe some vin, vanilla, vanilla, I almost said vinegar yeah, that's why I thought you were also some vinegar just to sweeten it up, yeah all right, so we have officially started. Yeah, this is roasty, toasty ghosty. It's a weird title to a weird podcast hosted by a couple of weird people talking about weird things, and I am so ready to be here.
Speaker 1Okay, so ready.
Speaker 2I'm so excited yeah cool. To celebrate two years with you.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2How are you doing, Matias?
Speaker 1I'm good, yeah, good, I think so Good. How are you? I'm doing good, okay. Why are you talking so weird? Can you be normal? What is that?
Speaker 2Yes, I can be normal. I'm good, you're good, we're good.
Speaker 1Yeah, so we're gonna try to follow the bullets.
Speaker 2Bullets, bullets, bullets.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I'm gonna see where this takes us.
Speaker 1Because we tried to keep the tradition alive of previous years.
Speaker 2We tried to keep the tradition, alive of previous years. Yeah, the first episode, and then we did kind of a retake on the one-year anniversary. Now it's two years and let's try it again.
Speaker 1Maybe with a twist. We'll see what happens.
Speaker 2We'll see how we've improved throughout the years.
Speaker 1Two years.
Speaker 2When I say that, it sounds like it's been a lot longer than two years, but I mean it's been two, which is a plural.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's almost exactly two years. Yeah, almost.
Speaker 2December 2nd was our first recording in 2022.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2That's not today.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2That's not the date today. Should we talk about our week, though, maybe.
Speaker 1Okay, yes, just a little bit Okay.
Speaker 2Anything exciting this week. What did we do last weekend? We did something on Saturday.
Speaker 1We did.
Speaker 2It was a big deal.
Speaker 1Hmm, it wasn't like eating turkey or something. Oh my God.
Speaker 2I knew it was a big deal. Okay, so last Saturday we did celebrate Thanksgiving a week early, as some people may have noticed, but I don't care, it was good timing for us. Yeah, I prefer Thanksgiving early.
Speaker 1Yeah, you had the kids and everything.
Speaker 2It was perfect. It was perfect, it was really good this year. It was really good. It was like perfect.
Speaker 1It was the best Thanksgiving by really good this year. It was really good.
Speaker 2It was like perfect it was the best Thanksgiving by far.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Since I've moved here, it was the least stressful. I actually had everything pretty much. I was panicking actually towards the end there because I was ready to heat up the side dishes.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And no one was there yet.
Speaker 1No. I mean like You're usually panicking, but not because of that reason.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's more like everyone's waiting for me. Yeah, no, no one was waiting. I was waiting for other people to show up. Yeah, I started an hour early or half an hour earlier than usual because I was too excited to wait, and so the food was ready earlier than usual.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And it was really good.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was just one problem.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1We couldn't find the movie Free Birds.
Speaker 2Right, we couldn't no.
Speaker 1But we had the mandatory movie though.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm Planes, trains and automobiles.
Speaker 1Yep, no Thanksgiving without that one.
Speaker 2Right, it was good, and some of our favorite people showed up.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And we did play games. We played Exploding Kittens, mm-hmm, and we drank eggnog, oh yeah, and had some really yummy chocolate balls that one of the guests provided.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 2And we played Skipbo.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, that was fun too.
Speaker 2And Heads Up.
Speaker 1So, yeah, also fun.
Speaker 2Games were played, food was eaten, alcohol was consumed Mm-hmm and we also had pie and it was really good.
Speaker 1We were so full.
Speaker 2So full I was struggling there at the end.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, me too.
Speaker 2But the eggnog needed to be finished.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, and I, I'm not the one to not finish it.
Speaker 2Right, yeah, I wanted to contribute to finishing it as well.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But it was so difficult with everything that was already in my body. So, yeah, it was really good.
Speaker 1It was, everything was good.
Speaker 2Yep, such a good Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1Especially when it's this good.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I feel like the holidays have been good this year. Yeah, like midsummer was good. Thanksgiving was good. Halloween Could have been good this year.
Speaker 2Yeah, like midsummer was good Thanksgiving was good Halloween Could have been better yeah. But hey, it still went well.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So that was pretty much the weekend Been really busy at work. You've done some overtime this week.
Speaker 1Yeah, I have not been in hell this week.
Speaker 2That's cool. I did overtime on Wednesday, yeah, and tuesday, yeah. My first gymnastic group was sick, so what? Gymnastic gymnastics group. They were sick, so I got to do like an hour of overtime on tuesday and then two hours on Wednesday. Yep, yeah. Yeah, that's very cool, that is very cool.
Speaker 1And I mean it's Black Week. It's been Black Week and it's Black Friday today, Mm-hmm. So we have plenty to do at work. Which is a good thing.
Speaker 2Can I also get sidetracked here?
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Awesome, it's been two years. I don't know if I've mentioned them. And we did get Thanksgiving presents and your Thanksgiving present didn't make it, but I made up for that. So, I would like to provide a Thanksgiving present and two-year present to you.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Okay, here's a box. I wrapped it very nicely, as I usually do.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Here you get to open it. Oh, let's pretend that it's wrapped.
Speaker 1Wow, ooh, wow. Tarts, pop-tarts, pop-tarts, pop-tarts, just for me. Yeah, wow, yeah. I never had Pop-Tarts before and this is amazing, I hope. Yeah, are we trying them now.
Speaker 2It would be nice if we could share a pack.
Speaker 1Yeah, do you know how to open them?
Speaker 2Yeah, am.
Speaker 1I doing it right. Yes, are you drunk?
Speaker 2Yeah, I was born drunk. Yeah, are you drunk? Yeah, I was born drunk.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2These are strawberry frosted.
Speaker 1Okay, by the way. So it's really supposed to be in the toaster. I thought you were going to say toilet.
Speaker 2You're actually supposed to put them in the toilet.
Speaker 1Yeah, but toaster.
Speaker 2Yeah, that is an option, but I rarely put them in the toaster Growing up, I just eat them straight.
Speaker 1Okay, is it good? Mm-hmm, is it what you remember? Mm-hmm, I'm going to try it now.
Speaker 2Do that then?
Speaker 1Yeah, but this is a big deal for me.
Speaker 2All right, go for it, but savor it Don't eat it all at once.
Speaker 1What does it look?
Speaker 2like you haven't even tried it yet.
Speaker 1No, this is a big deal for me. All right, that's what I'm saying. Well, I just hope it's not going to be another peanut butter thing for me. It is sweet it is sweet. I like sweet, it is good.
Speaker 2Good.
Speaker 1At some point. I want to try it in the toaster as well.
Speaker 2Also with butter. Oh yeah, Well, you have three more packs in there to do what you want with.
Speaker 1Okay, so the first one that's something we really had to do when we got home.
Speaker 2Right. The importance of peeing.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I pee a lot.
Speaker 1You do.
Speaker 2Every time.
Speaker 1You do.
Speaker 2Every time I move into a different environment, I immediately have to pee, which is really annoying at work, when I'm moving in between buildings all the time and every time I walk into the next building I have to pee. Did you want to?
Speaker 1It's okay, you can have it. It's just I guess I disappointed you in not savoring it, but it was really good. And speaking of peeing, I really had to pee when we got home, but I knew you always pee, so I had to make sure if you wanted to use the toilet before me or not.
Speaker 2Yeah, and you had to. That was nice of you.
Speaker 1And as you were peeing, I you were panicking. Yeah, I felt it more and more, you know, and then I'm like, okay, now I really have to pee.
Speaker 2No, I'm sorry. No, it's okay, it took too long.
Speaker 1No, it didn't. I made it to the toilet, that's good. No accidents happened.
Speaker 2That's good news. Would you lock?
Speaker 1I did lock the door to the toilet.
Speaker 2Good.
Speaker 1The problem for me was that I didn't unlock the door and try to get out.
Speaker 2Oh, you tried to leave without unlocking the door first.
Speaker 1Yeah, so, yeah, the door was like no, don't want to open. I'm like, why not? Because you have to unlock me first. Okay, I usually talk to doors.
Speaker 2You had this conversation.
Speaker 1Yes, okay, did you hear it?
Speaker 2I wasn't listening.
Speaker 1No, okay, but you could hear me talking.
Speaker 2Yeah, I guess so.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, you, you could hear me talking, yeah, I guess, so yeah okay, you're like, that's usually how you talk.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's To doors, yeah.
Speaker 1Well, it was in the toilet, so yeah, or not in the toilet toilet.
Speaker 2You're talking to the toilet.
Speaker 1Yeah, that too, but I was done with that one Hello toilet, so now I was talking to the door.
Speaker 2Okay, it, let me out. That was nice.
Speaker 1Yeah, you have a nice door I do it can be, you know, misunderstood sometimes.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1It also, can you know, hit people or maybe not, it's happened. It maybe not hit, but be in the way sometimes.
Speaker 2It has hit people before.
Speaker 1I think that your door is just misunderstood.
Speaker 2Yeah, probably yeah.
Speaker 1I'm the door whisperer.
Speaker 2You whisper to the doors.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2So you don't really talk to them, you whisper to them.
Speaker 1I do both.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I try not to scream at them, that's nice. Because that's not going to solve any of your door problems.
Speaker 2No, if you want the door to open, you have to ask, nicely. It's not going to open if you scream at it. No, and that's our life advice for today. Okay, you know today is Friday.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It's November 29th and we watched movies.
Speaker 1We did.
Speaker 2Would you like to move on? Yeah, all right, let's move on. You have the mug. It says let's move on.
Speaker 1Let's move on.
Speaker 2Let's take a sip.
Speaker 1So what does your mug say?
Speaker 2Coffee as now as possible? Yep, I don't want coffee right now.
Speaker 1No, that's not coffee.
Speaker 2It's not coffee. Today. We watched Sin City and the other movie that we watched, which I don't remember the title of, Do you want me to say it?
Speaker 1Yes, please, huy and Bart.
Speaker 2Yes, I'm glad that you said them.
Speaker 1Huy and Bart.
Speaker 2Yes, what does that mean?
Rating Bruce Willis in Sin City
Speaker 1Not everything is what it seems. I think the English title for this movie is like Elusive Tracks or something. Oh, is that? I thinkusive Tracks or something. Oh, is that? I think it's something like that.
Speaker 2Okay, I would like to tell you about Sin City. Yeah, this is a movie with James Bond. I did it again. I wanted to say James Bond when I meant Bruce Willis.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2They're not the same person. No, bruce Willis was never james bond no, although maybe he could have been I mean you dress him up really nice and he could be a nice I'm sure he would.
Speaker 1I mean he has the uh you know charm. He can have this charm, yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, so I have a really important question for you and you're definitely getting judged by your answer, so, come on, be, be wise with your answer. All right, All right. So on a scale of a one to 10, how attractive is Bruce Willis? Okay, With one being he's ugly as what and ten being like he is so hot you would definitely what him.
Speaker 1Okay, so what is the?
Speaker 2It's a bleep word.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, so it's the same what to both?
Speaker 2It's a what, what?
Speaker 1in the butt. Oh okay, Kind of butt.
Speaker 2Oh okay, kind of what. Oh okay, yes, now I understand. Would you what? What? Bruce Willis?
Speaker 1It depends what. Sorry.
Speaker 2All right what.
Speaker 1It depends on when in his career we're talking about.
Speaker 2Okay, you get to pick.
Speaker 1I get to pick.
Speaker 2The best part of his life.
Speaker 1Okay, the best part, I would say. It's like around it's in the 80s, 90s, there.
Speaker 2All right, like Die Hard yeah Okay.
Speaker 1I think that's his top.
Speaker 2Okay, I think that's his top.
Speaker 1Okay, he's not the best looking guy, but he still has a certain quality to him.
Speaker 2Okay, so where would your rating land? I?
Speaker 1don't know, maybe a six. A six, yeah. What would you say?
Speaker 2I don't know. I'd probably give him a seven.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Just to one-up you.
Speaker 1Yeah. So if I had said seven, you would have. I would have said eight yeah, okay If you said ten, I would say eleven.
Speaker 2I just want to be better than you.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, Okay. So Sin City is a movie about a bunch of people trying to kill a bunch of people, I don't know. There's a bunch of bad guys and then there's a bunch of worse guys, it feels like. There's no real good guys here and some women. There's also women involved.
Speaker 1So you wouldn't say Bruce Willis is a good guy.
Speaker 2I mean, yes, in a way his morals are questionable, but I mean, in the end, sure, he was a good guy. I guess he was the only really good guy.
Speaker 1I mean.
Speaker 2I guess the other good-ish guys are kind of good.
Speaker 1But I mean Because he got betrayed and shot and then he tried to protect a girl.
Speaker 2Fine, he's a good guy.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, and shot and then he tried to protect a girl. Fine, he's a good guy. Yeah, okay. Yes, the the other one I can understand because they did very bad things.
Speaker 2I mean, he did bad things to bad people yeah and that's okay in my book I guess, so yeah yeah, I'm sorry for interrupting you I don't know what I was saying no, you said that it's a bunch of bad guys and worse guys. That's what it feels like or seemed like.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, and Bruce Willis and then there's Bruce Willis. Yeah.
Speaker 2And some women.
Speaker 1And a lot of butts.
Speaker 2Lots of butts, only women's butts.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2We did not see Bruce Willis' butt.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Not today.
Opinions on Comic Book Movie
Speaker 1Not this time.
Speaker 2What did you think about the movie?
Speaker 1I don't know. I mean it's not, I wouldn't say it's a favorite of mine of his movies. What would you say, by the way?
Speaker 2I thought the acting was kind of funny in the sense that it felt more like it reminded me of a video game, but I can understand that it was maybe meant to be more like a comic book. Yeah, Since it's based off of a comic book.
Speaker 1Oh, you did know that.
Speaker 2I read that in the credits.
Speaker 1Oh, okay, okay.
Speaker 2So yeah, and maybe I recognize the titles from you know books? No, I think that was it.
Speaker 1What did?
Speaker 2you think Of the movie itself? Yeah, yeah books. Okay, no, I think that was it.
Speaker 1What did you think?
Speaker 2Of the movie itself.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, no, I wasn't a huge fan.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2No, I mean yeah, the acting just was really, really fake. It was more humorous than anything.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I don't know, maybe there were some funny lines here and there, but yeah, I didn't care for the story. Funny lines here and there, but yeah, I didn't care for the story.
Speaker 1Yeah, this movie. I didn't even have it on the list at first.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1But when we were watching Last man Standing do you remember that movie?
Speaker 2Yes, I re-watched it, you did.
Speaker 1And when we watched that one, your life partner said that what I?
Speaker 2said that.
Speaker 1Your life partner said that. Uh, this what your life partner said that it's like when bruce willis was narrating, narrating the movie. He's like this is like another movie with bruce willis and he meant this one. So I'm like maybe I should add this one to the list as well.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And I did have to, you know, fill out the list, so a little bit. So this wasn't planned to be part of the list at first, and then when we watched North last week, I was like maybe we should have this one for For this week.
Speaker 2Yeah, because Frodo was in this movie too.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2North North.
Speaker 1North.
Speaker 2North. Do you have anything else to say?
Speaker 1Okay, yes, I'm not the biggest fan of this movie either. It has some kind of disgusting characters, mm-hmm. Yeah, a lot of this movie is kind of disgusting actually.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's okay, I don't love it, but it is what it is yeah, I guess so yeah, that is a fact yeah okay, and now let's move on to queen bark please or elusive tracks possibly so this is a swedish movie and, just like the previous movie, city, this was also in black and white.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1And it was a choice made by me, like last week maybe. I'm like wait a minute. Two black and white movies. Maybe I should have them on the same night. So I did that. And this movie Hjelmbart. I love this one. Okay, so this movie is about a train ride.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1A lot of people going on a train from Stockholm to Berlin after the war the Second World War, yeah, that's it. And so many characters, some funny, some more serious, and there's a murder-to-be and clumsy guy and a very funny war veteran.
Speaker 2He's a little injured.
Speaker 1Yeah, it gets worse.
Speaker 2It just gets worse.
Speaker 1But he's still very positive.
Speaker 2He's so positive about everything. It's so funny.
Speaker 1Yeah, and also a very grumpy train conductor.
Speaker 2And the passenger. There was a really grumpy passenger, oh yeah, the couple.
Speaker 1Yeah, the gay couple. One of them is really grumpy and he's not gay, he just hates women. That's a very important fact. He feels people should know.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, but the guy he's riding with is gay.
Speaker 1He's very gay.
Speaker 2Like complete opposite.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's so much happening and I love this movie. I think it's so funny. Do you have anything you want to say about this movie?
Speaker 2It's very funny. Yeah, yes, I enjoyed this movie. It's very funny. Yeah, yes, I enjoyed this movie a lot yeah, that makes me happy yes, it was so funny. I liked it a lot, and that's what I have to say about that yeah, okay, and also the nuns are also yeah, it was like one who was like a super believer in god and everything, and then she quickly changed her mind.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I hate everything and I don't believe in God at all.
Speaker 1No and started swearing. Started smoking, drinking. Yeah, it was funny, yep.
Speaker 2And there was one old lady, yeah, oh yeah, who I want to be when I grow up.
Speaker 1Yeah, she's also funny.
Speaker 2so many funny characters she's the exact kind of old swedish lady that I love oh yeah, do you have stories about old swedish women? No, I don't, but I do love them I know I heard you this week well, yesterday I was leaving work and, um, I told one of my colleagues that tomorrow, which today, tomorrow, is friday, and you thought that I told her that I loved her. Yeah, like, love you, bye, see you tomorrow. Yeah, I mean, might as well love her.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I don't think they like me, but I like them.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And she's exactly the kind of older Swedish woman that I am talking about when I say that I love old Swedish women.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, okay, then I understand.
Speaker 2Yeah, very straight out, just says what she thinks. I like that.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We still have a very extensive movie night list.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2If anyone's listening for the first time, we watch movies every Friday night. We watch two movies for our movie nights and our list is so long, it goes on to 2033.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It's about April, May-ish there.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2In 2033. Mm-hmm, so we have quite a few years to go.
Speaker 1Yeah, on this list it's at least eight years. We say that every year.
Speaker 2Yes, we have about eight years to go. Yeah, every year yes, we have about eight years to go. Yeah, every year, because apparently every year we add another year of movies.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 2But that's just your side. My side needs some filling. I'm still like towards the beginning of 2032.
Speaker 1Yeah, and we know that it's going to be corrected as we go.
Speaker 2Yeah, do you want to look back on episodes now?
Speaker 1Yeah, sure, we can do that now. Have you thought about your favorite moment recording. Do you have one?
Speaker 2So I can just, I still think that number 17 is my favorite.
Speaker 1Okay, what happens?
Speaker 2Skarsgård.
Speaker 1Ah, okay.
Speaker 2Also Jell-O Shots was funny.
Speaker 1We had that one today we did have Jell-O Shots as a reference. Yes, I mean I I mean I really liked.
Speaker 2Sorry, I'm interrupting you now?
Speaker 1No, it's.
Speaker 2I really liked our one-year episode, yeah, when we kind of threw in references a little everywhere, kind of like um right on the movie right now?
Speaker 1yeah, I don't know. I just like the ones where we just mess up what we're trying to say. It can get out of control, you know yeah and you know when you don't know where it's going yeah where we're gonna end up with the conversation. Those are the ones I like.
Speaker 2Yeah, how many titles do you know off the top of your head? I?
Speaker 1think this is 105.
Speaker 2You know all 104? Not?
Speaker 1Maybe not all of them, but I know quite a few.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1How many do you know? All of them.
Speaker 2Not off the top of my head.
Speaker 1I mean, I can't probably not an order. You know I can't name them in order.
Speaker 2No, maybe first three or so yeah but that's, it okay, how far can you go?
Speaker 1I was the first turkey. My knee mother cookie yeah you're the worst oh yeah, worst of rainbow explosion. Yeah, that's it, I think.
Speaker 2Number six Is that? Uh, it's too dark, or is that number eight?
Speaker 1I don't know I can't remember.
Speaker 2I feel like number six is always one that I should remember, but I don't. Mm-hmm, I know that number seven is a good lacking day.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And then I'm pretty sure number eight is it's too dark.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2Nine, and then, I'm pretty sure, number eight is.
Speaker 1It's Too Dark. Mm-hmm, nine is. I'm Crying.
Speaker 2Eyelashes, Is it Okay? Mm-hmm, oh yeah, Ten um the Target.
Speaker 1Living Target the.
Speaker 2Living Canvas.
Speaker 1Living Canvas yes, the Living Canvas.
Speaker 2Uh eleven, I don't remember. Off the top of my head, okay Twelve is Screw you and your top of my head, okay 12 is screw you in your jugular vein, okay 13,. I should remember this one.
Speaker 1Yeah, well, maybe we can stop there.
Speaker 2All right, would you like to take a break?
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, I feel like Intermission, intermission, intermission, intermission.
Speaker 2Intermission, intermission.
Speaker 1Hello and welcome back.
Speaker 2Let's pour more drinks. Yeah, I think I'm good, I'm good. Okay, okay. So part two I don't think we need a jingle. No, I think I'm good, I'm good, okay, okay. So part two I don't think we need a jingle.
Speaker 1No, I don't think so.
Speaker 2I like the music that we have.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I like the opening that we made.
Speaker 1So we don't really need a jingle, no, unless we come up with a really good one.
Speaker 2I don't think that's going to happen.
Speaker 1I said unless we're.
Speaker 2If that did happen, that would be cool.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, what if we just stumble upon a good jingle?
Speaker 2That would be really cool. Or if someone wrote something for us. Yeah, that would be cool.
Speaker 1Hey, if you're a good music writer or maybe not just stumble upon a good jingle Please contact us.
Speaker 2That would be fun.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I don't have stories about Swedish women, swedish women.
Speaker 1No, but we do have a story about tea. We have let's talk about that one, okay. Okay, we can try to solve this together All right. Go ahead. Okay, so we got tea from your sister with the box we were talking about earlier, and so we have used that tea at work in the mornings.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah. So yeah, we did get this special tea, special tea, it's a special tea tea.
Speaker 1It's pumpkin.
Speaker 2Pumpkin spice.
Speaker 1Spice and it's really good. Was the box broken Boxes?
Speaker 2Yeah, the boxes were completely crushed when they got here.
Speaker 1Yeah, so we took them and put them in another box we have at work.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And one morning we noticed that the box was open.
Speaker 2Right, we had also bought another new box of tea.
Speaker 1Yeah, before this.
Speaker 2Right and that one was opened as well. So we noticed someone had been getting into our tea.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We have a special shelf for our teas, like personal teas.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And, yeah, we noticed that someone had been getting into it and previously, before we got either of these teas, we had tried an English breakfast tea, which made both of us really nauseous.
Speaker 1Yeah, so close.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was like two days in a row. We tried this tea and we both felt really nauseous afterwards. So we decided we need to get another tea yeah so we did, and then we got the specialty. So when we noticed that this guy had opened our new tea, yeah it was not.
Speaker 2We hadn't even opened it yet this guy decided he was going to take it and open it and help himself yeah, because we we got it the same day as we your sister's tea, yeah came in yeah, we had bought it like right before we picked up the box, because I had forgotten that there was tea in there yeah we didn't really need to get new tea no, we did anyway, yeah so this guy just kind of helped himself to our tea.
Speaker 2Uh, that was unopened. Now it's opened. So I took the new tea box that the guy opened and we have a machine at work that will, um, plastic wrap things, and so I put it in there and, uh, so I resealed the box pretty much and you put the pumpkin spice in your bag, yep.
Speaker 1So that is nice and protected as well, because we really don't want people to take our pumpkin spice tea Right, it's very important that people don't take that one, yeah, because that's very difficult to get to get.
Speaker 2And then we put the English breakfast tea with the other public teas that are provided by work and someone, I don't know who, I don't know what they're thinking, but they keep moving it back to our shelf and moving it all around and we keep trying to give it to the people, and the people don't want it. I don't know why.
Speaker 2It only made us nauseous. So what we did was that we have a collection of empty tea boxes in our shelf as well, so we took one of the yummier tea boxes like the. Was it the vanilla?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Vanilla caramel and we put the gross teas into the vanilla tea box.
Speaker 1Yeah, gross teas, gross teas.
Speaker 2Gross tea, toasty, ghost teas, grosties into the vanilla tea box yeah, grosties, grosties, grostie, toastie, ghosties and put it there and we closed it. And then we came back later and it had been opened.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So someone took the Grostie thinking that it was vanilla tea, and I was so disappointed that I didn't get to see this person take the tea. First of all, because you saw him take the tea, and you didn't say anything.
Speaker 1No I. What should I say?
Speaker 2Say something of me, because I didn't notice. Huh, how can. I would have said something to the guy Like um no, thank you. Yeah, first of all, mm Um, but yeah, I didn't get to see the guy take the tea and I didn't get to see his face when he realized that it was disgusting, mm.
Speaker 1But I pointed the guy out to you, you did, and you didn't say anything to him anyway so Not directly, but I told him I didn't like him.
Speaker 2Yeah well, he didn't even look at me.
Speaker 1He probably didn't understand what you said.
Speaker 2Probably not.
Speaker 1And you didn't really say it to his face either. No, I don't Behind his back. I don't know his language.
Speaker 2No, Anyway, that's the story about tea. Thank you for listening to this episode. We will be back next week and are we done? I guess. So, okay, that's all I had to say today. Okay, I don't know. What do you want to talk about?
Speaker 1yeah, I was thinking if we would do the history lesson, but maybe not then are we gonna do a history lesson? Or should we savor it?
Speaker 2For number 200?
Speaker 1200? No, not that long, no Okay.
Speaker 2No, no, matias, first of all, shut up. Second of all, what are you thankful for, since it was just Thanksgiving yesterday, technically?
Speaker 1I'm thankful for trying Pop-Tarts for the first time in my life. I'm very thankful for that.
Speaker 2That was a fun experience.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was really good.
Speaker 2Good Now you have a box of Pop-Tarts.
Speaker 1Yeah, maybe I'll have that for breakfast tomorrow.
Speaker 2That's an option. Yeah, yeah, you can do that, good yeah.
Speaker 1So what are you thankful for?
Speaker 2I'm thankful for the time that I get to spend here with you, my bestie.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And just I don't know. Talk about anything. Have the opportunity to be ourselves, just talk.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I'm also thankful for my people Life partner as always.
Speaker 1Yeah, my kids.
Speaker 2It sounds like when you say your people, it sounds like your staff or something they are my staff my slaves, my house slaves, yeah yeah, well, I'm the head house slave, so okay, I just manage the master uh, I am okay, I'm the master head slave okay, I'm the master of sips you are yeah, you will always be the master of sips yes, I know that yeah, that's it I guess yeah oh, would you like a history lesson?
Speaker 1a short one it's not gonna be a good one, but go ahead okay, you know, last two years we've been talking about, uh, thanksgiving and stuff and I'm like I want to move on from Thanksgiving. So that's why I want to hear about the first Black Friday.
Speaker 2Okay, the first Black Friday.
Speaker 1Yeah, what is it? How did it start?
Speaker 2What is Black Friday? Black Friday is a day when people throw away everything that they are thankful for. Oh, okay. Immediately. It's a day of wanting and receiving.
Speaker 1Okay, so you throw away the stuff and then you want. Yes, you throw away Want it back or want something else?
Speaker 2Something else.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Yeah, you discard everything you are thankful for and you go out and get something else.
Speaker 1Okay, so who started this trend?
Speaker 2Once upon a time there was a shop owner manager guy.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And it was Mr Rock.
Speaker 1Oh, mr Rock, Mr Rock.
Speaker 2Mr Rock, mr Rock, mr Rock.
Speaker 1Mr Rock, mr Rock, yeah, okay, mr Rock.
Speaker 2Mr Rock, mr Rock, mr Rock yeah.
Speaker 1Okay yeah, mr Rock.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's his name and he owned a store, but he liked to work a lot, so he had his shop open like every day.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Even on Thanksgiving. Oh, what did he sell? Rocks? Obviously yeah. What else would he sell Rocks?
Speaker 1obviously, yeah, of course. What else would he sell His babies?
Speaker 2His babies Baby rocks and a couple teenage rocks.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2They're heavy so they're harder to sell.
Speaker 1What's the price of those things? A price off. What's the price of those things?
Speaker 2Okay, 30 rocks.
Speaker 1So how much for 30 rocks?
Speaker 2So it was more like a bank, because they paid with rocks.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Yeah, and then the bigger rocks were more expensive. They were worth more. Okay, so he was a bank owner, which doesn't help my story. No, so he had. He sold money. Really he sold money, okay, which was the point, okay.
Speaker 1I mean this sounds kind of shady, but you know what Sure continue it was different times. Yeah.
Speaker 2Different times. So he noticed on Thanksgiving no one was coming into his store and buying his rocks.
Speaker 1Which is also Currency. Currency, yes, no one. And buying his rocks, which is also currency, currency no one was buying his currency.
Speaker 2So he got really frustrated. He sent out a message, he started calling people their houses. Because that's what you did in the old days, was you called people? Yeah, we don't do that anymore no but you would call around everyone in the town and be like hey, I know it's Thanksgiving and you're having a great time and everything, but tomorrow I want to sell a lot of my rocks, so I'm going to have a huge sale. Yeah, he had a huge sale on his rocks.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2The day after Thanksgiving and he called it Black Friday.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2You know why it was Black Friday.
Speaker 1No, I'm curious.
Speaker 2He sold charcoal. Oh, okay, that's why he painted all of his rocks black. He called them charcoal and they were all on sale.
Speaker 1Okay, so it was like a scheme, yeah, and the thing is that he didn't really lower the prices.
Speaker 2Okay, so it was like a scheme, yeah, and the thing is is that he didn't really lower the prices, but he raised them like 50% and then he just marked them down so that they're actually the same price.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Yeah, and no one really knew the difference. No, they just kind of fell for it. They were like half off, yeah, wow.
Speaker 1This is a big deal.
Speaker 2That's a big deal.
Speaker 1A great deal.
Speaker 2A really good deal.
Speaker 1It's big, some might even say great.
Speaker 2Yeah, and it's a deal Mm-hmm, and we're going to fall for this one.
Speaker 1Yep, because, and we're gonna fall for this one yep, because it's too good to be true. Yeah, that's what the people said. Yeah, I'm gonna fall for this one.
Speaker 2I think that's we. That's what we say every black friday. I'm gonna fall for this one. Yes, I will pay full price for everything and think that I'm getting a deal.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Saving money. So then after that, other shops were like that was a good idea, we are going to steal this idea for next year. And so the next year happened, and they did. All of the other stores also were like we have really good deals the day after Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Everyone should come and save money over here.
Speaker 1Huh. So what did Mr Rock think about that?
Speaker 2when other people he was like yeah, I have good ideas, like heck yeah.
Speaker 1Did he get anything from the other people stealing his idea? Did they get more rocks?
Speaker 2I think so they paid him.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2For his idea.
Speaker 1They threw rocks at him, yeah, and he's like oh, thank you.
Speaker 2Yeah, and he sold them as well. Yeah, he sold all of those rocks, yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, so it ended up well for him. It did.
Speaker 2And then the year after that, mr Rock was like my idea was so good and everyone loved my idea. Everyone loved my idea and it was a great idea. So you know what I'm extending this day and it's going to be the entire week. You know what I'm going to one-up you all.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And this is going on for the entire week, and that was Black Week. Ah and then the year after that everyone else was like, well, yeah, obviously that's a good idea, we're all going to have Black Week. And then the year after that, mr Rock was like you know what? I'm going to one-up all of you and it's going to be Black Month, and so on.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, and here we are. So where are we now?
Speaker 2It's actual Black Friday today.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2It wasn't last week.
Speaker 1No, this week.
Speaker 2it is not that anyone thought it was last week well, no, because at first it was mentioned that it was last week and then later on in the episode I was a week early I realized without mentioning anything and I hated myself for it. But I don't regret anything.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Good, do you have any questions?
Speaker 1About the history lesson, right? I don't think so. Cool, cool. I'm really happy about that one.
Speaker 2Good.
Speaker 1So do you have anything English Swedish, english Swedish?
Speaker 2English, swedish, swing.
Speaker 1Swedish.
Speaker 2English, swedish, swinglish, swinglish. I'm going to start up my own curricular program called Swinglish as a second language. Okay, svenska som anderspråk, yep.
Speaker 1That's what I'm going to do, because I'm kind of good at it, I think. In a way, I feel like it's starting to spread in Sweden.
Speaker 2And it's eventually going to be an official language.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I'm going to be the first one to teach it.
Speaker 1I mean, your kids are really good at it.
Speaker 2Yes, they do it all the time.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2They grew up on both Swedish and English, so they're really good at mixing the two up.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I wonder what the words are in other languages, though, for, like a mix of English and, I don't know, french or Spanish, franglish, franglish, spanglish, but in their language too, they've got to have a word for it or German.
Speaker 1Spanglish.
Speaker 2Spanglish, espanlish, yeah maybe yeah, hmm yeah, I don't know I don't know, but I would like to know. If you know, please comment and let us know what the word is in your language for the combination of espangles. Your language, that should be it english right, I'm sorry, ingles and espanol.
Speaker 1What was it espangles your language? That should be it. English, right, I'm sorry? Inglés and Espanol.
Speaker 2What was it?
Speaker 1Espangles.
Speaker 2Maybe that sounds about right. It could be a thing Might be onto something, yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2All right, well, are you done with your sips?
Speaker 1I'm done with my sips.
Speaker 2I'm not. I'm not, so let's talk about something. What is it that's ruining your life right now, other than me taking too long and destroying the entire episode?
Speaker 1You're not destroying the entire episode. I am, and I can tell you why Because I'm going to wake up early in the morning and I'm not going to get much sleep this night, nope, so that's what's ruining my life, and it's not your fault. It's my fault, since I agreed to work tomorrow. What's ruining your life?
Speaker 2Oh, I'm doing really good. I'm having the best time. I don't know what's ruining my life.
Speaker 1I don't know Life.
Speaker 2I guess, so what.
Speaker 1No, I'm thinking of a joke, I don't know, maybe.
Speaker 2What is your joke?
Speaker 1It's about ending your life.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Okay. So what does the suicidal say when his rope breaks? Ow no, he says, I got bad news.
Speaker 2He's got bad news, oh, okay. Oh that's funny. All right, all right, all right.
Speaker 1I guess that's old news, I don't know.
Speaker 2It might be an old news. He might have tried using it before and it didn't work, and then he tried again and it's still not working. Maybe, he's weighing too much much. Maybe he needs to lose some weight before yeah, he has to wait he has to wait for the weight yeah, oh yeah that's also a title we didn't do weight update.
Speaker 1Do you want to do weight update?
Speaker 2I lost 0.2 kilos. I did you did surprisingly. Yeah, I did. No, I wasn't expecting it at all, but I did check it earlier. Huh, yeah.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Somehow I managed.
Speaker 1From last Friday.
Speaker 2From last Friday I was at a weight and then after Thanksgiving I went up like five kilos maybe.
Speaker 1And I gained 0.7. Oh, something in that story oh, okay. What.
Speaker 2Yeah, all right, I mean that's a possibility.
Speaker 1What is a possibility?
Speaker 2That you gain 0.7. Yes, All right Well we're going to cut ourselves some slack because it was Thanksgiving and it does take some time to come back from that. So next week we're going to do better.
Speaker 1I'm going to do better.
Speaker 2At least I don't know about you, I'm hoping yeah, I'm going to go back to eating the way that I usually eat.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Everything's going to be good Cool. Hopefully my stomach will respond properly, because it has been. I've been so bloated all week, so much air in my body, and it's been really uncomfortable, so I'm hoping that going back will solve that problem. Yeah, I'm out of sips.
Speaker 1Yes, I am too.
Speaker 2So, what so, what so, what so, what so, what? I don't care who cares. I don't care about your sips.
Speaker 1We can talk for like two hours more.
Speaker 2I would love to talk to you for two more hours, but I am out of sips.
Speaker 1Yeah, so we're out of language.
Speaker 2Wow, we're out of languages. Yeah, that's a problem.
Speaker 1That's it. No, we're not talking anymore. No, we're out of episode.
Speaker 2Would you like to wrap this up? Yeah, let's do that, we're going to do that episode. Would you like to wrap this up? Yeah, let's do that. We're gonna do that. Yeah, shut up. Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And also maybe make some toast Roast, the toast for the ghosts For the ghosts. Yeah, okay, like you would leave out milk and cookies for Santa.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Roast some toast for the ghosts.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2That should be a Halloween tradition. To leave toast out for the ghosties. Yeah, extra butter, and they love the butter I've heard.
