Speaker 1:

In a world where everything is unscripted. This is Roasty Toasty Ghost. Now I started See and that's how you start recording. Yeah, wait for me.

Speaker 2:

So that we have funny things? Yes, because you're closer and you have long arms.

Speaker 1:

That can reach that button Okay.

Speaker 2:

When are you going to start being funny?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't know. This does not make any sense at all right now. No, and you know what I like the best about this episode?

Speaker 2:

What.

Speaker 1:

We haven't even started it yet, but what I like the best is that I am not gonna edit this.

Speaker 2:

Cool. Good for you, good for you.

Speaker 1:

Good luck future, lauren. Thank you, lauren, you know what?

Speaker 2:

What. I have picked a ghosty for us to drink A ghosty. Okay, we're gonna drink a ghosty. Yes, the energy drink.

Speaker 1:

Yes. Okay, ghost're going to drink a ghosty yes, the energy drink, yes, okay.

Speaker 2:

Ghost, you picked the flavor this week.

Speaker 1:

I did. We're going to continue with this. Yes, this week we're going to continue.

Speaker 2:

We didn't last week.

Speaker 1:

No, we're sorry about that.

Speaker 2:

Boring episode last week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was.

Speaker 2:

The best part was the presents.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the best part was the presents. Yeah, it was good.

Speaker 2:

Which one did you pick?

Speaker 1:

Electric limeade.

Speaker 2:

It's kind of like lemonade, except it's made with limes. Yeah, and it's also electric.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and it looks like mushrooms on it. Okay, but I really like the design. It's really cool.

Speaker 2:

You don't like mushrooms.

Speaker 1:

I don't, but I like the design.

Speaker 2:

It's very creative. Would you like to?

Speaker 1:

start this. Yeah, okay, okay, I'm starting next.

Speaker 2:

All right, is it good?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you can pour.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you trust me, you're the poor person. Thank you, cheers.

Speaker 1:

Cheers.

Speaker 2:

It tastes like lime.

Speaker 1:

Hmm, yes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Is it 7-Up?

Speaker 2:

I don't know. 7-up and Sprite is like the same thing.

Speaker 1:

Sprite yeah, sprite might be the one I'm thinking. They're like the same thing, okay, but there's lemon in that. Is it lemon? This is lime, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Sprite is lemon and lime.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

To me this tastes like them, them. Okay, it's okay.

Speaker 1:

Should we?

Speaker 2:

get this started. Yeah, is it your turn? It's my turn? Yeah, because I'm editing. Yep. Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Lauren.

Speaker 1:

And I am Matias.

Speaker 2:

And we are going to be your besties for the next hour or so.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And yeah. And yeah this is where I get lost because, I don't know what to say after this. But, we are besties and we're going to be besties with the listener as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for an hour or so. An hour or so Okay.

Speaker 2:

And that's what I said. Yeah, I just felt like I needed to be more clear. Yeah, say it again.

Speaker 1:

And that's what I said. Yeah, I just felt like I needed to be more clear.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, say it again, we are going to be your besties, not just you, matias.

Speaker 1:

Oh, no, okay, but the listeners as well.

Speaker 2:

I'm not talking to you.

Speaker 1:

No, okay, you're not talking to me oh. Are you talking to me? Not yet, no, not yet, no, no, not yet, no no no, and we are about to record our bestest episode ever. Wow.

Speaker 2:

That wasn't you.

Speaker 1:

No, no, okay, Now I'm going to talk to you. You and the listeners yeah, are going to record.

Speaker 2:

We're talking, not you.

Speaker 1:

Not me, everyone else I can leave.

Speaker 2:

You could, except I'm going to talk to you now, okay, how are you doing? Is it me or the list? I'm talking to you, okay.

Speaker 1:

I'm good. Good, how are you? I'm also good. I was talking to the listeners.

Speaker 2:

Okay, sorry, you were looking at me.

Speaker 1:

Oh, no, okay, I guess I'm talking to you then.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

How are you?

Speaker 2:

I'm also good.

Speaker 1:

Okay, you too.

Speaker 2:

Thank you. What is going on Are?

Speaker 1:

we gonna talk about the week.

Speaker 2:

Are we?

Speaker 1:

I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Okay, let's do that then.

Speaker 1:

Nothing much happened this week.

Speaker 2:

I don't really know.

Speaker 1:

Last weekend we worked on Saturday.

Speaker 2:

Oh, we did. I have to tell you about my work day on saturday oh yeah oh my gosh, worst day ever, at least up until lunch. So what happened?

Speaker 1:

I was yeah, I hope you know.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, but I really want to tell you what happened yeah, I don't know what happened.

Speaker 1:

I don't remember. It's a good story, too bad. I don't know what happened. I don't remember. It's a good story, too bad, I don't remember it.

Speaker 2:

No, I swear it was a really good story. Yeah, you just have to trust me, mm-hmm. And then laugh because it was a funny story too yeah. So I was working on Saturday and we worked. Good story yeah no, we work for an online store, so we have to like do the picking of stuff off the shelves and send it to sorting and stuff.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

So I was doing that, the picking part, plocka, plocka, and I was just, you know, doing my thing, working and minding my own business, and there's this one guy who keeps scanning me in the face with his scanner.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And first of all, that's pretty dangerous.

Speaker 1:

You're not supposed to do that. It has a strong light, it's like a laser. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I don't know, I guess he thought that was funny, but I did not. And he was like making faces at me and one time he was like passing by, like in the opposite direction, coming towards me, and he like swerved his table towards me like he was going to hit me. I guess he thought that was funny, I did not, I wasn't having it, I wasn't having it you weren't having it. I weren't having it.

Speaker 1:

Hold on.

Speaker 2:

Where did the grammar go? I wasn't having it.

Speaker 1:

Having it.

Speaker 2:

I weren't having it Because I just wanted to, you know, do my thing and mind my own business and get my work done and then leave.

Speaker 1:

And just a side note, I do appreciate you having problems with your grammar and stuff, because that makes me feel better. Okay, good About myself.

Speaker 2:

You're welcome.

Speaker 1:

Thank you.

Speaker 2:

So I Anyway, Anyway, anyway, back to my story.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, that wasn't relevant. It was a good story.

Speaker 2:

No, it wasn't over. Oh it's not done yet. No, because I was so sick of it that I complained to the supervisor up there where I was working and she was saying that oh well, he is kind of annoying and it's his last day anyway, and I was like, well, that doesn't really matter. She was like, should I talk to the boss and have her like send the guy home or something? I was like absolutely not, he can suffer, he can stand here and not go home.

Speaker 1:

He will get paid though.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know. I was trying to, you know, measure the pros and cons.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean going home, it gets freedom.

Speaker 2:

Right, I mean yeah. If we measured here and now, how would you feel? Would you rather stay at work and be tortured but still get paid, or go home, have the freedom and not get paid?

Speaker 1:

I think you know my answer.

Speaker 2:

I know that you would stay at work.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but for anyone else yeah going home is what they want to do yeah I was like no, he's not going home, he, he can finish his day yeah and not have the freedom. Uh, so yeah, and then she asked me if I wanted to go do something else. I was like, absolutely, so I went off and did something else.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm pretty sure I saw him on Monday again.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Then again I don't know. So I went off to do this other thing that I was told to do. And what happened then? Oh, someone was asking me how we pack, because I went to packing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, so Like it was a secret, it's a secret, yeah this other thing packing.

Speaker 2:

I didn't realize that it was going to be a part of the story. I didn't. I don't remember anything, so I went to packing don't tell anyone no, it's a secret. No one's allowed to know that I was packing. I was packing. We have to whisper about this.

Speaker 2:

And there was this guy who was asking me how we pack the slightly bigger things, and so I was showing him how we do that, and I looked down at the table, just you know. I noticed that his phone was there on the table and it was on, so I assumed that he was watching a video or something, even though we're not supposed to do that.

Speaker 1:

Some people do that.

Speaker 2:

Some people do that. I don't know. I don't know. No, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

That's how you make mistakes, I think.

Speaker 2:

What? And then I actually looked down at the phone and I saw myself, and so I noticed that this guy was in a video call with someone, and my first thought was like who wants to watch you working?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

This is not fun, no, and we are not allowed to be on phone calls at work, no, so I finished up you know what I was doing there and I went to the boss in that department.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I was like this you were going to the boss a lot that day I was Bosses. The bosses, and so I told him that this guy is on a video call and he was like okay, well, I'll take care of it. So he took care of it and the guy put his phone away, I guess, and I continued working. Cool, I got two people down. Because, people get away with so much stuff at work and it's ridiculous, it's not okay.

Speaker 1:

It's not okay. I never do anything about it, though.

Speaker 2:

No, but I was just sick of it at that point.

Speaker 1:

You were already like.

Speaker 2:

I was on a roll, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Annoyed with people, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I just felt so uncomfortable seeing myself on someone else's camera.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I wasn't having it, so I went back to packing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That's not it. That's not the end of my story. Because the girl next to me, who I know generally, yeah. I've worked with her before. She had run out of labels so she went and got a new roll of labels and she couldn't remember how to install them into the printer and I was like I know how to do this. So I got the roll in. Yeah, but I was having trouble putting it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah With closing the.

Speaker 2:

The clamp.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because it has to clamp down. It was kind of jammed a little bit. It was not easy to close.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Also my arms were kind of tired already from packing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're not used to that.

Speaker 2:

No, I haven't packed like that in a really long time, so my arms were hurting. But me struggling triggered the girl on the other side. She thought that the labels were stuck. Yeah, so without even looking, she thought that the labels were stuck. So, without even looking, she assumed that they were stuck. She pretty much took over for me and she was like I know how to fix this, and she took the rolling pin thing from the printer out. And then she realized, oh, it's not stuck.

Speaker 1:

And.

Speaker 2:

I was like no way.

Speaker 1:

I mean.

Speaker 2:

I did not ask for help.

Speaker 1:

I mean if, if you're going to do that, maybe you should check first.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Maybe say oh, what's the problem? Can I help you?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Instead of oh it's stuck. Let me do it for you. Like I did not need help. I needed a little extra muscle to get that clamp down. But no, she took the rolling pin out, realized that it was not stuck, and then she tried putting the rolling pin back in and she struggled so hard and I just stood there and I just waited. I don't I don't even know how to respond. It's like no one asked you to help. I did not need help. This would have been handled and we would have moved on by now if you had just minded your own business. Yeah, but I mean, it took her so long to figure out how to get it back in there.

Speaker 1:

And then, when she finally did, I just, I took over again like I didn't.

Speaker 2:

You went to the boss. I was like I don't need help. He was like I'll take care of it. No, I didn't. But I told her that I did not even need help. It was like eight years of being here and I don't know how to fix the printers. I don't't think so.

Speaker 1:

No, makes me think about one time when I was trying to help a new person who just started working and it was stuck at the rolling pin.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And when it gets really stuck it's very difficult to get it out.

Speaker 2:

I was really struggling with that and you know you know, I didn't even know you could take that pin out until like the past year or so.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah really I tried and I kind of slipped so I hit my knuckles so they started bleeding so I was all bloody on my knuckles after helping that person with the label.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, my God yeah.

Speaker 1:

Not my proudest moment.

Speaker 2:

No, I guess not.

Speaker 1:

I felt like she must have thought that this guy does not know what he's doing.

Speaker 2:

No, Well, all of this happened before lunch.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, which I mean I got to lunch and I was already so sick of the day, not even half the day and you had all this.

Speaker 2:

Right. Luckily, the afternoon was a lot calmer.

Speaker 1:

That's good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I got abandoned at packing because no one wanted to pack with me anymore.

Speaker 1:

No, of course not.

Speaker 2:

No, there was so little to do, but they wanted at least one person to be left there and that was me yeah you. I was told to stand and wait.

Speaker 1:

You made the boss fire all of them, all the people around you. Yeah and just Get rid of that person and that person. Yeah, flick them away one by one, yeah. Just get rid of that person and that person.

Speaker 2:

Flick them away one by one. Yeah, bye.

Speaker 1:

You're like I have the power.

Speaker 2:

And then he told me, stand and wait.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

There's work coming, just wait.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just you wait.

Speaker 2:

And then I came home and well, no, I went to the store. Okay, I went to the store and I bought a few things, and among those things I had found a pack of cookie decorating frosting kind of tubes to decorate cookies with. It was a set of four colors. I was really excited. Oh, okay, and somewhere in between purchasing this item and getting home, it disappeared. I don't know where it went.

Speaker 1:

Oh, no. Yeah, I hope this is nothing reoccurring in your life.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, we'll see. We'll see where the week takes me, so I was pretty disappointed about that. We were going to make gingerbread cookies, but all of the pre-made gingerbread cookie dough was sold out everywhere. Couldn't find it anywhere.

Speaker 1:

That was a problem.

Speaker 2:

It was a problem.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So we just got pre-made gingerbread cookies.

Speaker 1:

Oh no, oh no, oh no, I guess it wasn't that bad.

Speaker 2:

Oh no. Instead of baking gingerbread cookies, like we had planned on doing, we had hot chocolate and we wrapped presents.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah and stuff, and we tried watching Christmas movies but the kids got bored with them, which was disappointing.

Speaker 1:

What Christmas movies Can I? Do you remember any?

Speaker 2:

of them. You may not ask. These are secrets. Okay, rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer? Huh, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Those movies.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Frosty the Snowman.

Speaker 1:

I have seen those.

Speaker 2:

You have. Did you do anything fun when you got home from work on Saturday?

Speaker 1:

I don't think so Okay, I don't remember.

Speaker 2:

Did you do anything fun on Sunday?

Speaker 1:

I don't think so. Okay Did you.

Speaker 2:

I don't remember Actually, yeah, maybe, okay, maybe I did, I think.

Speaker 1:

But you don't remember. I don't know, I did something fun but I don't remember it.

Speaker 2:

I think I did something fun.

Speaker 1:

So fun, so much fun, but I don't remember it.

Speaker 2:

And then we worked on Monday.

Speaker 1:

Yes, we did.

Speaker 2:

We were offered to go home early.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

Neither of us took it.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

And my department abandoned me again, yep. So I ended up stressing quite a bit towards the end of the day there.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, for me it was the opposite. I had most to do at the start of the day, nothing to do at the end of the day.

Speaker 2:

I guess that's kind of nice, though, yeah, it is Especially like the day before Christmas. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Eve. Yeah, yeah, it was nice.

Speaker 2:

We should probably talk about how our Christmases went. Yeah, you go first, because I feel like I've talked so much.

Speaker 1:

You have, okay. Okay, so the Christmas Eve that's the day we are celebrating Christmas the most. It was a good day, though I didn't do much. I was just chilling and helping out, you know, gathering presents and stuff like that. I let other people do the cooking and stuff, because I'm not that good at that. And then we had guests my sister and her family, my niece's grandma on her father's side and her husband. They came and visited. It was nice. It wasn't the first time. They stayed the whole Christmas. It was nice to see them. I had not seen them for a while. It was good. We opened presents later and I was really satisfied with everything I got. I got a jacket, gloves, a hat.

Speaker 1:

Christmas hat and a Christmas tie.

Speaker 2:

It's very cute.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I got a couple movies, some deodorant. Yeah, I got a couple movies, some deodorants, shower gel I'm just gonna name all the things I got. And I got an energy drink from my niece.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I think that was it, and I got money from her grandma. Okay, I like giving the presents better than receiving, although I do appreciate that as well. Yeah, but that's just me. I like seeing other people opening gifts, oh yeah, and we watched Donald Duck, of course.

Speaker 2:

Oh yes.

Speaker 1:

Yep, how was your Christmas Eve? Christmas Eve.

Speaker 2:

Well, we started off by trying to clean up the place a little bit. Okay, not too bit Okay. Not too much.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't that much, but my daughter is so impatient and she just wants to open presents so bad. But we didn't let her Not yet. I mean, we started off in the morning with like the stockings and Advent calendars and stuff. Yeah so they got a little something in the morning. And then my life partner's mom and her sister came over and they started making dinner. Okay, the guests make dinner.

Speaker 1:

That's nice.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and so yeah, they did that.

Speaker 1:

Was it good?

Speaker 2:

It was Good. We ate the dinner and it was really good.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, we also ate dinner, by the way, Did you?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay, you didn't just ignore the people who were making the dinner.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I let them make the dinner and eat it by themselves. And I just watched.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, Well, the eating dinner and Donald Duck kind of collided. Okay, because we were still eating when it started.

Speaker 1:

Do you usually watch the Donald Duck?

Speaker 2:

I do.

Speaker 1:

You do.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I like to watch it.

Speaker 1:

Me too.

Speaker 2:

And then we opened presents, like you're supposed to here Me too. And then we opened presents like you're supposed to here, yeah, and I got some money and a gift card as well, and I got a serving tray and a water bottle and a thermos and I got a pen. I got this pen. This is my pen.

Speaker 1:

Cool.

Speaker 2:

It's engraved or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Ah, okay, I thought that was dirt, but now I see it's words.

Speaker 2:

No, it's not dirt, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And it says love, lovey, lovey, oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

So that was fun.

Speaker 1:

Lovey.

Speaker 2:

I got some candy, yeah, oh, I got some of those like fragrance sticks as well. Mm-hmm, yeah and yeah, and that's pretty much what I got.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

All the things I like.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah Good.

Speaker 2:

So I was also very satisfied.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, in our family we watch Kale Anka or Donald Duck, and then we eat the dinner. Oh okay. And after dinner we have to do some dishes, or my mom wants to do the dishes right after we've eaten wants to do the dishes right after we've eaten, and so that gives the rest of us some downtime before we opening gifts and all.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So I went to my room and I slept. I was just. I took a nap. I didn't plan on doing that, but I just lay in bed and then somehow the time turned to later.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And I woke up, and then we opened the presents, uh-huh.

Speaker 2:

Cool story, right, very cool story, all right. So what about the day after?

Speaker 1:

The day after? I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Which was Wednesday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Christmas Day.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

What happened that day? I don't think much happened.

Speaker 2:

No, I think we just chilled for the day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we ate some leftovers. Yeah, I think we had the cat's tree. We got that from my sister. They had one that they didn't use, so to our smaller cats, so I found a good spot for that and I screwed it into the wall so it was stable Okay. So I'm really proud of that.

Speaker 2:

Good yeah.

Speaker 1:

And they seem to like it. Good yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2:

I think that day is just a chilling day for us clearing out the day before's mess and eating leftovers and just yeah, hanging out. Yeah, and yesterday was out. Yeah, and yesterday was Thursday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I did some editing, video editing, and yeah, that's kind of what I did.

Speaker 2:

I wasn't planning on doing very much because my life partner was supposed to go to his dad's and celebrate Christmas, but that didn't happen. So I got all excited because he was supposed to take the car.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So then I had the car.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah, yay.

Speaker 2:

So I took my.

Speaker 1:

So he never went.

Speaker 2:

No, okay. So I took my older kids to a city and Just any, just pick one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you just picked one doesn't matter um let's go to a city yeah, well, no they.

Speaker 2:

They got like all these gift cards and money and stuff. So they were like we want to get stuff with this money yeah I know that my oldest really needed shoes and clothes, and that's what he wanted to get with his money, yeah, which is really good. I mean it's good that he's thinking about the things he actually needs instead of just candy and garbage.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So we did that we went into a city, into a city.

Speaker 1:

Yes, the nearest one, random city, the nearest one, and we. The random city was the nearest one. Random city the nearest one. Okay, and we?

Speaker 2:

The random city was the nearest one and my oldest got some clothes, and so did my daughter, and then we I don't know we went into other stores and looked around and maybe bought some stuff, and I was thinking I need to go to a slightly bigger city that has another store that I want to go to. Yeah, and my oldest hadn't found shoes that he liked. So we went to the next city and he did find shoes there and I went into this other store that I wanted to go to.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And because I wanted to get something specific and turns out that this specific item you can only get online, I was like, oh, okay.

Speaker 1:

Disappointing.

Speaker 2:

Disappointed, but I ordered the thing anyway.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So then we went to the next store over and got some things and I got a curtain rod what was that? A curtain rod yes yeah, and with a set of curtains. I was like I'm gonna put up some curtains, gonna be fun good times.

Speaker 2:

And so, uh, we checked out and I bought the curtain rod with all the stuff and everything and we packed the bag that we got and then we left with the bag and not the curtain rod. So I guess I was so distracted by the kids and making sure that they were where they were supposed to be that Okay, so you forgot something.

Speaker 1:

I did Sounds sounds familiar I don't know, maybe not no this has never happened before, so that brings us to now you can cut in what you said in the beginning oh yeah, I guess I could if I wanted to.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. That cuts to today, which is Friday.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And you came over and we hung out, and then we had to go back to that store and I grabbed my curtain rod and we went food shopping and then we came back and we also watched movies today we had a movie day we did and a movie night yeah, there's lots of movies, so would you like to take a break so that?

Speaker 1:

we can move on after later, yeah, yeah, let's do that, let's do that all right, we will be right back right back, right back, and we are back.

Speaker 2:

Hello, you already said welcome back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I'm just saying hello.

Speaker 1:

Hello.

Speaker 2:

Hello, all right.

Speaker 1:

All right.

Speaker 2:

Today is Friday, yes, and it is December 27th 2024. It's our last recording for the year, yep, 2024. Very exciting, yeah, and we did watch movies. We watched quite a few movies, yep, like we said, we had a movie day and a movie night.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

The first three should probably go pretty quickly though.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Would you like to tell me about movie day?

Speaker 1:

Okay, let's tell you about movie day. We did have a movie day, and it was different versions of the Christmas Carol. No, yes, christmas Carol, right, are you laughing?

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

I'm not. I'm not laughing. Why would I laugh? There's nothing funny.

Speaker 1:

So three and they're all musicals and the movies were Scrooge from 1970. The Muppet Christmas Carol from 1992, and Spirited from 2022.

Speaker 2:

And Spirited, I believe, has become tradition for us. Yes, because it's the third year in a row we watch this movie. Yep, but let's start off with Scrooge. Yep Do we really need to go through the summary. I don't know. I feel like everyone knows what it is by now it's about ghosts and a grumpy old man so it's perfect for the podcast yeah the ghosties and the grumpy old man yep, that's you and me yep, yeah, that's us, yeah the ghosty and the old man.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna rename the podcast I think, to the ghosty and the grumpy old man yeah I feel like that would be more descriptive of what the podcast is yeah, true what did you think about Scrooge?

Speaker 1:

okay, scrooge, uh, the first one, I, I don't know. I think it was probably better than I thought it would be. Um, because I I was just interested in it, since it was a musical and I wanted all the musicals, uh, in one go and uh, and I thought I was thinking that movie would be really boring. It wasn't super fun, but it was still better than I was thinking it would be. What did you think about the movie?

Speaker 2:

it was a christmas carol.

Speaker 1:

There was one song that I liked about hating people yeah, that was that, one was good yeah, I felt like um, it sounds like us at work right, yeah, for reasons yeah, you have already talked about.

Speaker 2:

I feel like that's the theme of today's episode.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Just, I hate people. But yeah, I mean it was okay, it was a Christmas Carol, it was generally like the others. I watched the movie.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but.

Speaker 2:

I did, hmm, but it was okay. Maybe it seems like I didn't watch the movie, but I did watch the movie. You did, I saw you you saw me watch the movie yeah, all right you were not watching them I did you were watching me watch the movie well, yeah, I, I watched it through your eyes.

Speaker 1:

It reflected on your eyes uh-huh, oh, the glasses yeah, okay all right all, so that was that one.

Speaker 2:

And then we watched the Muppets. Christmas Carol Yep, which was a Christmas carol involving the Muppets.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, do you want to take that first before I?

Speaker 2:

I would like to yes. Because, I enjoyed this one. I believe it's very likely that I had seen this movie before Scrooge. I had not seen Okay, but I'm pretty sure I've seen the Muppets movie before, but I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

The Muppets are always fun. Yeah, I like them. I like all the different characters. Yeah, I think they're all funny.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and they're so well made. It's incredible. I really like the work they put into the actual Muppets.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's very creative and I do love that. I also like this movie better than Scrooge. It was funnier, it had Michael Caine, it had Muppets.

Speaker 2:

Wow.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, very cool. And what?

Speaker 2:

I'm not sure what the Muppets movie would be without the Muppets themselves.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's true, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Unless it was just like the actors with the hands and the voices?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just hands.

Speaker 2:

Just hands. They forgot the puppets that day.

Speaker 1:

That's a good point, but what's happening? Stop laughing at me saying things. I'm not trying to be funny yet.

Speaker 2:

That wasn't the joke. It had Muppets.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay you made a good point, okay, so a cake, a cake. I did not see a cake um it's. It was also shorter I I appreciate that I like short, shorter movies. When they're too, they can feel like they overstay their welcome.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So one hour and a half or 90 minutes, that's a good length for a movie in my opinion. But yes, I did like this movie.

Speaker 2:

All right, and we watched Spirited, which we have talked about before. We have, and it's a very good movie. It's a good movie, all right, and we watched Spirited, which we have talked about before we have. And it's a very good movie.

Speaker 1:

It's a good movie. It's another twist on the same story. It's a new twist and I really love this movie. I think it was an instant Christmas classic for me, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I also love this movie. I like how last year we watched the Grinches and then this year we watched A Christmas Carols.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So maybe this should be a Christmas tradition for us. Maybe, that would be fun. Three versions of one story.

Speaker 1:

Versions of yeah, different versions of.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I like that, yeah. Different versions of.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I like that. Yeah, good, I just want to ask people if they want they can come up with other suggestions for other years.

Speaker 2:

We could take some suggestions, yeah, of what we should watch next year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, good.

Speaker 2:

Would you like to move on to the movies that we watched tonight?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, let's move on.

Speaker 2:

All right, let's move on then.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Tonight we watched Die Hard 2 and.

Speaker 1:

Sällskapsresa.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay, so I'm going to tell you about Die Hard 2. Yeah, okay, this is a movie with Bruce Willis and not Alan Rickman.

Speaker 1:

True, yeah, something happened to him in the last movie. At some point, yeah, we won't spoil what happened, but he's not in this movie.

Speaker 2:

No, Basically watch Die Hard.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Except there's planes involved and airports.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Okay and yeah, basically that's what it is is Die Hard at an airport.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, what did you think of this movie?

Speaker 1:

I love this movie.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

It's so great. I like this one as much as the first one. It's funny, it has great action. It has a pretty good twist. If you ask me, I don't know. I do really like this one. What did you think about this?

Speaker 2:

movie yeah, it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. Good yeah, that's all. Okay, I don't know what else to say.

Speaker 1:

No, it's a little bit bigger, I mean in terms of they have this whole airport this time.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's also set during Christmas. It is Just like Die.

Speaker 1:

Hard. Yeah, I still think this is also a Christmas movie, although it's not as much of a Christmas movie as the first one.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, that was Die Hard 2. Yep, Fun thing that it also had the. Is it called like Undertitle or or kind of? Yeah, it's also called Die Hard 2. Die Harder.

Speaker 2:

Aha, okay, great Undertitle, Very cool.

Speaker 1:

Then we watched Sällskapsresan. Yes, eller Finns det Kaffe på Grisfesten? That's the Undertitle for that movie.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I don't even know if Undertitle is the correct word, but you know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

I do yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, this movie is also set at Christmas. It's a Swedish movie, by the way, and it's about a bunch of people going to Canary Islands for Christmas. That's it. It's a very weird bunch of people, very funny. I think it's been voted the funniest Swedish movie ever by people and it is a really funny movie. The protagonist of the movie is this nerdy guy and the actor is also the director of the movie and he wrote the movie. And, yeah, very funny guy. He becomes friends with a Norwegian guy. There's two drunk guys, there's two girls. Oh, yeah, the nerdy guy. He has to take a package to the Canary Islands for another guy and he doesn't know what the package contains. It looks like it's just bread, like hard bread, but it's also money, lots of money in there in the package, and that package doesn't end up where it's supposed to be on the first try. You know airports.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so yeah, is that a good summary of the movie.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I guess so. So what did? Is that a good summary of the movie?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess so.

Speaker 1:

So what did you think about the movie?

Speaker 2:

I love this movie. It was very quickly one of my favorite Swedish movies.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I watched this pretty early on when I moved here to Sweden. Yeah, because that's where we are.

Speaker 1:

Oh, really yeah.

Speaker 2:

I loved it then and I still love it. It is very funny.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I agree. Very funny movie and, like I said, it's been voted the funniest Swedish movie. I don't know. That's as much as you said about Die Hard, so I guess I'm content with that.

Speaker 2:

All right, that was the movies right, nothing else.

Speaker 1:

No, I think that was it. Are we gonna talk about? Talk about the talk about New?

Speaker 2:

Year's. This episode is coming out on New Year's. Yeah, is it New Year's Eve at least.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, it's coming out on my dad's birthday, yeah, so happy birthday, dad happy birthday, dad.

Speaker 2:

Um so for the past couple years we have talked about new year's resolutions for our new year's episodes yeah and we have a reoccurring resolution which has been weight related.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I guess we did good last year.

Speaker 2:

Well, last year we both wanted to lose weight for this year.

Speaker 1:

I'm pretty sure we have.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I would say so, Since the year before that we said the same thing and I think we might have ended up gaining weight instead, or not much happened this year. I feel like we did really good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we have lost a lot of weight, and I think that's thanks to you.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

Without you, this would not have happened, because you losing weight made me also want to lose weight and therefore do this journey with you, alongside you.

Speaker 2:

No, that's good. Yeah, I'm really glad. I'm really proud of how far we've come. Yeah, really so.

Speaker 1:

You really inspired me'm really proud of how far we've come. Yeah, really so. You really inspired me. By the way, you're welcome, thank you.

Speaker 2:

I'm thinking we've been doing weight updates for I don't know the past few weeks.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

But for this last week we have not really been checking our weight.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

We decided we were going to relax for the rest of the year. But I'm thinking with a twist. Can we do a weight update compared to the beginning of the year to now? How much have we changed in the past year? Within this year, I have lost 10.9 kilos okay, you know what?

Speaker 1:

what I lost 11.8 you win.

Speaker 2:

You win the year.

Speaker 1:

Yay, we're all gonna celebrate so what do I win a cake uh, you win, um, uh, um, wow.

Speaker 2:

Motivation to continue for next year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I know there's been lots of ups and downs this year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It was kind of a slow start, I think in the beginning of the year. I lost most of my weight during the second half of the year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, same here.

Speaker 2:

So it only took me like six months to drop 10 kilos yeah, I mean it's been rough.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's been rough it's been rough.

Speaker 2:

Were you gonna say something?

Speaker 1:

I don't, um I. Well, you, you began your journey before me, so um, so you, you win that, okay, and also I. I think you are the winner in losing the most weight in one day yeah, I guess so.

Speaker 2:

So, um, we can talk about the past year the past year how has your year been? Your 2024 it?

Speaker 1:

has been. It has had ups and downs. The biggest down was that I know that I'm going to get fired next year.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Yep, me too.

Speaker 1:

That's the absolute biggest down for me.

Speaker 2:

Three months left.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yay, very fun.

Speaker 2:

It's been more negative for you. I think so From me. I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Yes, that's good, though, that you can see it more positively, but I'm kind of positive that I will be back. I'm not going to be back as a permanent marker yeah, you're not going to be a permanent marker. No Employee yeah, that's the word yeah not permanent employee, but I mean I'll be back in a way and hopefully maybe they realize they need more people and I can be one of those. That's my hope for my future.

Speaker 2:

Work your way back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I would say I'm a pretty hard worker.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'd agree Anything else that happened to you this year.

Speaker 1:

Okay, the best thing. What was the best thing happening this year? I mean, we had fun. I liked going to see the offspring, it was fun.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I did like that.

Speaker 2:

Even though it rained on us. It did and you rode roller coasters.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but it was still worth it. I liked it.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

And we got a little bit tipsy.

Speaker 2:

Just a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's what I said. Yeah, I don't know what would you say. Do you have ups and downs?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, I also lost my job, which? Was a down.

Speaker 1:

It was a down.

Speaker 2:

It was a down but I think I kind of realized what I want to do with my life yeah anyway, so it was both that was an up okay, and my mom died, which?

Speaker 1:

was.

Speaker 2:

That was the biggest down a really big down, but I did get to go back home and see a lot of friends, I'm working on that.

Speaker 1:

Shut up I'm helping you you are.

Speaker 2:

You are taking my lines and you are putting them in the wrong place. I got to go back home and see a whole bunch of friends and family and meet a bunch of people who really helped out a lot when it really felt like the mat was pulled out from under our feet. So that was an up.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, the mat pulling.

Speaker 2:

That was a down. We fell and there were so many people who just Caught you, volunteered their time and helped us out.

Speaker 1:

They didn't catch you A little bit, they helped you up.

Speaker 2:

They did when things were really overwhelming. We had a really good support group, yeah, so that was really good.

Speaker 1:

And I was cheering on from Sweden.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you were one of them who helped.

Speaker 1:

I didn't do much helping.

Speaker 2:

Well shut up. Well, you were one of them who helped. I didn't do much helping. Well shut off? Well, I didn't. Well, you held down the ropes here while I was gone. Yeah, so that was helping me specifically.

Speaker 1:

Okay yeah, by making the silliest episodes.

Speaker 2:

They were very silly, but I really liked them at the same time.

Speaker 1:

Okay, thank you.

Speaker 2:

Along with this whole weight journey that we've been on. That's been the biggest ups and downs. Yeah, talk about the ups and downs, oh my goodness, the drama that kind of follows with trying to be good and not wanting to be good, but wanting to be good at the same time, and the disappointment and excitement at the same time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Like, oh, I'm moving forward and oh no, what have I done? Kind of it's been the biggest roller coaster, I think.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so what did you think about the Offspring, the?

Speaker 2:

Offspring. I loved the Offspring, that was so much fun and I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I feel like we've gone on a whole bunch of other smaller adventures yeah, that's the one that sticks out, though I also like the halloween thing.

Speaker 2:

We went with the kids and our friend the haunted trail.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, although that wasn't as grand, no, but still nice.

Speaker 2:

It was still fun. It's been an alright year. Yeah, I don't want to say it was a great year.

Speaker 1:

No, no, I understand that. I wouldn't say that either.

Speaker 2:

It was a year and we did survive it.

Speaker 1:

We did so far. It's not over yet, true.

Speaker 2:

So let's set our resolutions for next year.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Okay, do you have anything? Let's be repetitive. Yeah, I'm going to lose another 10 kilos by June.

Speaker 1:

By June, wow yeah.

Speaker 2:

Since I lost 10 kilos since June Last June.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, I'm also going gonna lose some weight. I don't know how much weight, but it is good to have a goal.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you gotta be specific, because if you just say I'm gonna lose weight, okay Well, tomorrow you lose 0.1 kilos and okay Done.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't have to do any more here.

Speaker 1:

So I need to lose okay 15 kilos at August.

Speaker 2:

That sounds about right. Yeah, you can do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, what day in August.

Speaker 2:

Specifically. Okay, I'm going to put this in my calendar so you know 15th. August 15th All right, that's when. You've lost 15 kilos. Yeah, all right, that's when you've lost 15 kilos.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, all right, from the 2nd of January.

Speaker 2:

That's when we're going to start up again.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, good luck.

Speaker 2:

Matias. Good luck, matias, you got this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

No problem, you got me, I'll make sure of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay Good.

Speaker 2:

And then we're not. No, no, not gonna happen.

Speaker 1:

But we're gonna be stronger yeah. And what happens if we don't succeed with our goals?

Speaker 2:

Then someone's gonna get beaten up.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I think One of us, or One of us Do we get to pick someone.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna toss a coin flip a coin. We're going to play rock paper scissors.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so if you fail, I can get beaten up. No, no.

Speaker 2:

If we both fail, then we have to play rock paper scissors to see who gets beaten up. But if I succeed, which obviously I will and you fail, which I mean look at you, then you're going to get beaten up.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so okay, I'm the one getting beaten up. What if you fail and I succeed?

Speaker 2:

Well, that's not going to happen.

Speaker 1:

Well, what if?

Speaker 2:

Okay, then I'm going to get beaten up.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I thought I was getting beaten up.

Speaker 2:

You're still getting beaten up.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to get beaten up, no matter what.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Even if we both succeed.

Speaker 2:

I'm getting beaten up, do better.

Speaker 1:

Could have done 20.

Speaker 2:

You could have.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

By August 15th.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Plenty of time to do that. I'm also going to start studying, oh yeah. So I'm hoping that I can stick with that and not just look for another job that I settle into. So that's my goal is to start and stick with it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I guess I will have to do some job searching.

Speaker 2:

I want to get a job in Stockholm.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I want to work for Bully Bumpa.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That is my life goal.

Speaker 1:

And what is Bully Bumpa?

Speaker 2:

It's a dragon.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

You want to work for a dragon. I want to work for a dragon on a children's TV program. Yeah, that is my goal in life.

Speaker 1:

Good goal, thank you, matias?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, do you have anything else you would possibly want to say about any of this?

Speaker 1:

No, I think I'm good.

Speaker 2:

All right, will you tell me what is currently ruining your life?

Speaker 1:

That's a good question.

Speaker 2:

During Christmas season. Is anything actually ruining your life?

Speaker 1:

I don't think much. Okay, just end that there. Yeah, that's my sentence.

Speaker 2:

Is that what's ruining your life? Yeah, yep, I don't think much.

Speaker 1:

I don't think too much these days.

Speaker 2:

I guess that's good enough.

Speaker 1:

That's perfect.

Speaker 2:

I don't do much.

Speaker 1:

I don't think much. That's a good ending of the year. I don't think much. That's a good ending of the year. I don't think I'm gonna start thinking next year. Oh wow, that could change your life yep start thinking uh, okay, uh, what's ruining your life was that. Does that, did that um sound uh like you, thought about it. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, you were thinking really hard about how to say that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so so far you're doing good.

Speaker 1:

So, so far, so, so far.

Speaker 2:

Good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so so far good yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, what is ruining my life right now? Yeah, my memory, I think, because I keep leaving things at the store. I buy things and then I leave it at the store.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like I didn't really want this, I'm going to leave this here.

Speaker 2:

You can have it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I guess, so maybe it was a good thing I was with you today.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you didn't go into the store with me. You didn't remind me to bring the thing with me.

Speaker 1:

Well, I went into the second store with you and we got everything from there. I even double checked I did too, and I was the one packing the stuff.

Speaker 2:

I'm glad that I had you.

Speaker 1:

You're welcome.

Speaker 2:

Thank you All. Right, well, I'm all out of sips.

Speaker 1:

I've been out of sips for a long time. All right, so we're all out of episode.

Speaker 2:

I guess so. So would you like to wrap this up? Yep, finally.

Speaker 1:

So give me some of that wrapping paper and I'll get to it.

Speaker 2:

All right, sounds good. Yep, thank you for listening to the episode, not you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, the people Okay.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for listening to me talk to you, Matias. Oh, oh, oh, okay, yes, thank you for listening to me talk to you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're welcome. I thought you were talking to the episode.

Speaker 2:

The episode, yeah, the episode itself.

Speaker 1:

Yep episode.

Speaker 2:

The episode yeah, the episode itself yeah, we are going to do a live Mad Libs on January 11th 2025.

Speaker 1:

Awesome, that's not even this year.

Speaker 2:

No, we're not going to do Mad Libs until next year.

Speaker 1:

Oh, so far away.

Speaker 2:

We'll do it next year on January 11th, so we'll see you there. Yep, we'll be back with another amazing episode next Tuesday. Yes, let's go ahead and wish the listeners a happy new year. Yes, I really had to think about what I was saying, because I don't know why that was so difficult.

Speaker 1:

The happy listeners, the happy listeners.

Speaker 2:

The happy listeners. A new year Yep. A happy new year Yep To all the people. Thank you for listening to us for the past year. We really appreciate everything.

Speaker 1:

Yep, that's true.

Speaker 2:

That's all you have to say about that, yep.

Speaker 1:

Nah, no, okay and Okay, yep, that's true.

Speaker 2:

That's all you have to say about that Yep Nah.

Speaker 1:

No, okay, and Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2:

And thank you for joining us, for our Mad Libs, throughout the past year as well.

Speaker 1:
