Speaker 1:

In a world where everything is unscripted, this is Roasty.

Speaker 2:

Toasty. Ghost nothing more about that no, did you miss me? I did did you miss me? What no is it weird that I I hesitate to believe you yeah, that's weird okay, because we talk all the time.

Speaker 1:

You say it's hard to miss me yeah, maybe I said that I don't know. Uh, it's probably like um, uh, you know something I do sometimes. What is it? Joke? I make jokes. You're an idiot. Should we start?

Speaker 2:

No, I'm thinking half an hour of warm-up is fine and then we can start. Okay, I mean, you did say we're kind of early.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, that's true. It's not even 10 yet. It's not even 11 yet no, it's not even 10, yet it's not even 11 yet no, it's not even midnight. We don't just cut to like random warm-up bits.

Speaker 2:

Conversations yeah.

Speaker 1:

Just in the middle of a sentence from the warm-ups.

Speaker 2:

Um, I don't know, not in the middle of a sentence. It should kind of make sense.

Speaker 1:

Well, out of context, it would be fun to just.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, out of context. Yeah, I suck at this game. Did you know that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no.

Speaker 2:

It's only 25 minutes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's, true, five more minutes.

Speaker 2:

Three more hours yeah.

Speaker 1:

How was the walk?

Speaker 2:

The walk went fine yeah.

Speaker 1:

We didn't even sleep or anything.

Speaker 2:

No, it's mostly wet. It's not really slippery. No, not cold.

Speaker 1:

We didn't, you know, fall at all. No, that rhymed, that's true, I'm a poet.

Speaker 2:

You didn't even know it Exactly.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what rhymes with exactly.

Speaker 2:

No, that rhymes, I think.

Speaker 1:

Yeah rhymes with exactly no. That rhymes I think yeah, no, exactly no. No, I thought it was too warm yeah, it was really warm.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I went for a walk with sick child on my back yeah, I was yeah, it was really warm what about christmas?

Speaker 1:

what about, uh? You'll be here for Christmas. Yes, yes, sorry.

Speaker 2:

I shouldn't be putting things out like that to the universe? No, anyway.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Should we start this?

Speaker 1:

I think it's been half an hour.

Speaker 2:

Oh yes, Look, I can also join you.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Matias.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Lauren.

Speaker 1:

And we are gonna be your best friends for an hour or so.

Speaker 2:

At least yeah. Maybe the maximum of an hour.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Maybe a minimum. We'll see, we'll see how this goes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we never know how long these episodes are going to be.

Speaker 2:

We're not on a time limit. No, not really. We should be.

Speaker 1:

Maybe we should. Maybe we should have a time limit for.

Speaker 2:

We're going to have a timer, yeah.

Speaker 1:

For, like the warmups, it shouldn't be, longer than half an hour.

Speaker 2:

It shouldn't be longer than an hour. Okay, I think that's the maximum for each part. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Section should at least be an hour, yeah okay, yeah, I also want to tell the people that we have been talking for over half an hour before we started this 32 minutes yeah it's like nothing so it's gonna be a lot of cutting for for me poor you, yeah, are you gonna survive that? Um, maybe it's gonna get. Oh yes.

Speaker 2:

Looking forward to this. No, sorry, I thought I had a bruise. Have you noticed my scars?

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

This one gets itchy. Sometimes it's bigger.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I only have this scar. That's my proudest scar.

Speaker 2:

Was that self-harm?

Speaker 1:

That was an accident.

Speaker 2:

Okay, accidental self-harm that was an accident, okay. Accidental self-harm yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay, oh yeah, we were cutting apples, I think.

Speaker 2:

Ah dangerous.

Speaker 1:

Yeah and yep. Then that happened, mm-hmm. And years later my niece got a car door on her finger. Oh, my niece got a car door on her finger and she has a scar like almost exactly on the on the same finger as me, on the, and it looks similar. So we're scar buddies oh, twinsies yeah cute. That's like a special thing between me and her I have a hole in my leg. Yeah, heard about that.

Speaker 2:

Did you? Yeah, okay, I felt like sharing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's cool. Do you like the hole in your leg?

Speaker 2:

It's just kind of there.

Speaker 1:

Has it always been there.

Speaker 2:

I noticed it when I was 13. I don't know how long it was there before I noticed it when I was 13, but I did notice it when I was 13.

Speaker 1:

13. When I was 13.

Speaker 2:

13.

Speaker 1:

How old were you? I was yeah.

Speaker 2:

Something like that, I guess, yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

Matias, how are you? That's something I've been wondering this whole time.

Speaker 2:

The past 40 minutes yeah.

Speaker 1:

How are you really? You've been home.

Speaker 2:

I've been trapped at home for a week and that's how I'm doing. I'm okay. How are you?

Speaker 1:

I am good.

Speaker 2:

Good, what have we been up to this week?

Speaker 1:

That's a good question, and I know what we did last Saturday. We were celebrating me. Yeah, yeah. So we went to um place to eat some pizza, yeah and yeah, it was nice and you paid for all that I did and, um, yeah, that was very nice. That was like a birthday gift and and day gifts. And then we went to the car wash and we washed the car we did and then we went to a store and bought stuff, I think.

Speaker 2:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

And then we went back to your place. Am I right? You are right, we and you know, back here, your place.

Speaker 2:

We went back here, yeah we watched movies we did?

Speaker 1:

we watched a jackie chan movie armor of god. 2 operation condor yes and then we watched another action movie called stone cold. Um, and both movies are from 1991. Yep, yeah, and we ate chicken lasagna here.

Speaker 2:

We did.

Speaker 1:

Still full from that one.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm, I bet.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, it was nice.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That was Saturday.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it was.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then Sunday what happened Sunday?

Speaker 2:

Last week, last episode, a sick child had gotten sick and he got really sick. He had a really high fever and a bad cough and he's pretty much had that since, or yeah, since last Friday, and he just started getting better, like yesterday. Hmm, so that's basically what I've been dealing with.

Speaker 1:

The entire week.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I took a really chill day on Sunday. I wasn't feeling great energy-wise.

Speaker 1:

No, I feel like.

Speaker 2:

Emotionally.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Damaged.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And that was my Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I didn't do much Sunday either.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I spent pretty much the entire day editing, oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

On Monday, then I worked on Monday.

Speaker 2:

I'm just gonna break down my week really quick, because I mean I didn't do that much all week. I was home all week with sick child, catering to his fevers and medicating him, and when I got restless I started baking and it didn't turn out very great and yeah, that was my week, okay great, and yeah, it's that was my week, okay, baking with sick child and trying trying to be active, and yeah, it's just, I don't know. It hasn't been awful, though it hasn't been a bad week no but it hasn't.

Speaker 2:

It's not my routine no it's not. It doesn't feel normal.

Speaker 1:

And we haven't seen each other all week.

Speaker 2:

This is the first time we're seeing each other since last Saturday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's very rare.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we usually see each other at least once and my car has been acting up. My car has been acting up. The battery is having issues and apparently the back tire is smoking or something. Yeah, and it smells, so I haven't had a car all week either.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

So I've been stuck at home? Yeah, no car. I've been walking everywhere, mm-hmm. If I get to go somewhere, yeah, and that's my week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we also had car problems this week, so it's a great week for cars. I guess All cars are just breaking, I don't know. So, yeah, car problems at my place as well. I have been working all day, every day. Oh yeah, on Wednesday you went to the boxing thing.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, my oldest and I went to boxing and he seemed to enjoy it.

Speaker 1:

Good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we got a good workout out of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I liked going there too, but I haven't been there since. I've been there once Two weeks ago. Well, last week I was sick.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Or recovering. So I didn't want to go this week. I didn't have a car, you didn't have a car, you didn't have a car, I didn't have a car. Right, it was too much trouble getting there and getting home, especially home part.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So I couldn't this week either.

Speaker 2:

And I don't know when I'm getting the car back.

Speaker 1:

No, so we'll see.

Speaker 2:

Thursday was yesterday.

Speaker 1:

Thursday yes, so that was a little bit special at work because for some reason the company just offered us lunch. Yeah, so we had two options, either um vegan or chicken. So I had the chicken.

Speaker 2:

What kind of chicken?

Speaker 1:

Uh.

Speaker 2:

Just a chicken, a whole chicken.

Speaker 1:

A whole chicken? No, no, it was.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what parts of the you either get a whole chicken or a whole salad. Was that it? Yeah, those were the options.

Speaker 1:

I guess so okay so, um, I uh, we got I don't know what parts of the chicken it was, but we got chicken parts and rice and stuff you know, rice and uh, some, uh you know like a sauce maybe yeah, sauce, and um peas and uh carrots, you know okay, what was the vegan option?

Speaker 1:

I don't know if because we we also got like um um a salad, okay too, but I didn't take the salad because I was like, okay, that's the vegan stuff, so so that's not for me. But then I saw like everyone else had the salad.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So I'm like okay, so that I guess that was for us as well. I don't know, I didn't think it looked that appetizing anyway. So.

Speaker 2:

I mean, what was the salad Just leaves and?

Speaker 1:

yeah, it was like carrots and it almost looked like a pizza salad.

Speaker 2:

Okay with carrots in it I'm glad I wasn't there. I would have been really upset yeah I mean, I'm always really upset when they try to provide anything yeah because it's never anything that applies to what I eat. So yeah, I know that I did have lunch when you guys were having lunch and my lunch was way better than yours.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the difference is that our lunch was free.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, mine was leftovers. So it was kind of free.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, kind of.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was already made, so I didn't have to make it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and the funny part with this lunch was that we knew it was going to be a lot of people because everyone were going at the same time All people.

Speaker 1:

It's a lot of people yeah, and so we were worried about our table. So I I was like I'm gonna take my um lunch bag that I forgot the day before and take it to the lunch room. And I took the stuff from my lunch bag and put on one item at all the spots at the table and I sat at my place, you know, just guarding the table, until someone else came. And then I took my chance and went to stand in line. Standing in line wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, because I was like, okay, this is going to take like 20 minutes, but it didn't take that long.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So that was good, yeah, and I mean I didn't hate the food, but it wasn't the best.

Speaker 2:

It was very mediocre. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But it was free.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess that's okay. Anything else about that?

Speaker 1:

No, okay.

Speaker 2:

Yesterday I had a meeting. Oh yeah, with my potential adult school. What do you call it? Comb books? Yeah, a school.

Speaker 1:

University. It's not a university.

Speaker 2:

Definitely not. It's a school for adults.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I guess kind of it's um a school for adults. Yeah, I guess community.

Speaker 2:

I don't really want to call it a community college because it's not a college it is. It's for lower levels than college, but we are adults anyway. School I'm going back to school.

Speaker 1:

Yes For adults. Okay, not with kids.

Speaker 2:

Not with kids.

Speaker 1:

No, okay With adults.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so it's.

Speaker 1:

It's not going to be a Billy Madison situation for you. No, no.

Speaker 2:

This is a school with adults, for adults.

Speaker 1:

Boring.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, boring. And I had a meeting with the guidance counselor.

Speaker 1:

Okay, which is what I'm calling. It Sounds very fancy.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and we put together a plan for me getting into the courses. I need to get my transcript from high school translated to the Swedish system Converted really. And I have two tests that I have to take to see what level I'm at in math and Swedish. Both of these tests are two hours long.

Speaker 1:

Okay, these tests are two hours long.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so I booked and of course, the only times that were best for me so I didn't have to take time off from work, were on tuesdays. Tuesday evenings it was like the only day they had evening times on tuesdays. Otherwise it was like between nine and two. I was like I took a week off already with a sick child. I don't really want to take more time off than I need to, but of course this is a legit reason, but I just I have to think about my department too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, In a way yeah Well.

Speaker 2:

I care about them too.

Speaker 1:

You're going to get fired. I know.

Speaker 2:

No one cares. But, I care. I care about my department which is ridiculous. But yeah, I have these two tests. They're booked, I'm going to take them and classes start on the 24th. Yeah, that's exciting, yeah, but yeah, no. 24th yeah, that's exciting, yeah, but yeah, no, it it went well, it felt really good afterwards.

Speaker 2:

I was feeling really excited about studying again and she found a goal, a course for me to take within the higher education as a production leader in film. There's a course for that or a program, okay, and that's the goal. Cool, yeah, instead of project management.

Speaker 1:

But I guess maybe in a way they're kind of different so you're gonna get me when you become that, you're gonna get me into film.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah good maybe you should try to kind of sneak your way in as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Maybe try to learn something. Yeah, and today's Friday, mm-hmm, did you have a good day?

Speaker 1:

Uh, yeah, okay. I was working, so I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Anything exciting at work.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Cool Me neither. Nothing exciting at home.

Speaker 1:

No, I've been like in charge with the packing and the basement this week Okay.

Speaker 2:

So, that's cool.

Speaker 1:

Because I was like the only one from my group there, so I had to be in charge, but it worked well.

Speaker 2:

Was it stressful?

Speaker 1:

No, Okay, it wasn't much to do so.

Speaker 2:

Okay, good yeah. How about a weight update, matias? No, okay, it wasn't much to do.

Speaker 1:

So Okay, I'm glad. Yeah, how about a weight update, matias? No, I'm not going to do that.

Speaker 2:

Because you didn't do it last week, so I can decide that I'm not going to do it this week. I'm just going to say that I'm at the same amount that I was last week when I didn't want to say my weight update.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so hmm.

Speaker 2:

I'm still not saying I have not gained or lost any weight for a week.

Speaker 1:

Okay, since last week, I know the feeling.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and that's that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what did we do today?

Speaker 2:

Nothing.

Speaker 1:

Nothing. We didn't watch movies, no, okay.

Speaker 2:

Would you like to take a break?

Speaker 1:

We can take.

Speaker 2:

Should we take a break?

Speaker 1:

Maybe we should take a break and movie on after the break.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think the second half is for movies. That sounds good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we'll do that, all right.

Speaker 2:

We'll be right back.

Speaker 1:

Yes, bye, bye-bye, hello.

Speaker 2:

Hello.

Speaker 1:

Hello, we're back. Yes, we are Okay.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back then.

Speaker 1:

Thank you.

Speaker 2:

To the second half, and now I'm going to say that it is Friday.

Speaker 1:

It is Friday. Friday, it is Friday.

Speaker 2:

Friday, February 28th. It's the last day of February.

Speaker 1:

That's wonderful.

Speaker 2:

Tomorrow is March.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, then I don't have to say that month name again.

Speaker 2:

February Until next year.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

Or if you ever have to tell someone when your birthday is.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I hate that you can say February, oh, yeah, or if you ever have to tell someone when your birthday is.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I hate that you can say February yeah, february yes, february 28th yes, friday, and we watch movies.

Speaker 1:

We did we watch movies. Now we're German.

Speaker 2:

Would you like to movie on?

Speaker 1:

Let's movie on Movie on. What movies did we watch?

Speaker 2:

We watched Death Wish.

Speaker 1:

From 2018.

Speaker 2:

Uh-huh, and then we watched.

Speaker 1:

Should I say it or you?

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

I'll say it Drömkåken.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes, from 19. From watched, should I say it? I'll say it drum koken. Yes, yes, from 19, from from 1993, that's my year. Yes, I'm gonna tell you about death wish. Yes, this is a remake movie. Apparently I haven't seen the original.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

I watched the remake first.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I guess. And this one has Bruce Willis, and Bruce Willis has a wife and a daughter and, like a good amount of his movies, his wife ends up dying and his daughter is seriously injured, yeah, in a coma, and Bruce Willis is a doctor but he turns into a mysterious kind of a hitman for himself.

Speaker 1:

Vigilante, right, yeah, okay, I'm going to call it.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to call it a personal hitman for himself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and he looks for the people who killed his wife and his daughter the bad guys. And yeah. So instead of saving lives, he starts taking lives.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And that's it. I think that's all I'm going to say. What did you think about the movie?

Speaker 1:

I kind of like this movie. I did see the original before this one and I do like that one too. I mean, it is different stories, not different stories, but in the original he's an architect and he's played by Charles Bronson. Anyways, this movie is still good. I think it has a pretty good cast. I like the wife is played by Elizabeth Chu and she's good. I like her and the policeman.

Speaker 2:

You know the yeah, the, is it dea or something? The drugs police guy in breaking bad?

Speaker 1:

was in this movie.

Speaker 2:

Yes, dean norris did you say which one you actually liked better?

Speaker 1:

This one or the original.

Speaker 2:

Those are your options.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, in a way I kind of like this one a little bit better. But I mean, the original is good, but maybe I shouldn't spoil anything, but this feels more complete.

Speaker 2:

Okay, okay, I like this movie you did, I was into it Good, I enjoyed it all yeah, okay, okay, I like this movie.

Speaker 1:

You did I was into it.

Speaker 2:

Good, I enjoyed, yeah, I enjoyed it all. Yeah, yep, good.

Speaker 1:

Next, next, drömkåken Yep, the Dreamhouse, I guess would be a direct translation. And this movie is with Björn Schiff, the hooked on a Feeling guy. Third movie in a row with that guy, and this one he's a family man who buys a house.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's it, no. And this house, it has secrets. It has from the previous owner and it's not in the best shape. It falls apart a little bit, it does yeah, and there are some bad guys also, kind of goofy bad guys though. So what do you think about this movie?

Speaker 2:

I feel like this movie is like a peek hole into my future. Yeah, because I've been wanting to get a house and it's been a little bit up and down. We haven't found the right one and it hasn't been the right time but I feel like my standards aren't always super high Because I feel like I wouldn't mind a somewhat broken down house.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

I see it as a big project instead of like a burden you know a problem. And, yeah, I feel like whatever house I would settle for would be just like this one, where everything is falling apart.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Like, yeah, I can pick that, that's not a problem. And then the next thing and then the walls fall down and the floor falls through and everything.

Speaker 1:

Them bad guys, Joseph.

Speaker 2:

And they want something that's deep into the walls.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, so this is just a's deep into the walls.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, so this is just a sneak peek into my future.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I feel like maybe it's supposed to be seen as a warning, but I don't listen to warnings.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

I say okay and go for it anyway.

Speaker 1:

Ah, challenge yeah.

Speaker 2:

No, that's supposed to be a warning, Like hmm.

Speaker 1:

I mean, when you look at the movie it kind of ends well.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it does. I really like this movie, though. It was a good one. Yeah, I enjoyed it. It's funny.

Speaker 1:

This is the one I've seen most of his movies, though, because this one I really grew up on.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

This is a movie I've seen so many times and I think it's really funny. Yeah, I love everything about this movie. So and I mean this is my introduction to Björn Schiff's- Okay so that's what made me interested in watching the other movies.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm so yeah. Very cool.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so we did like an opposite for you, that we watched this one last.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Anything else, I don't know. No, no, I don't think so. Okay, pretty good movies all right next part. Yeah, let's see. You said monday. What's the date on monday the second?

Speaker 1:

of march. Third, I think it's, I don't know. Third of march is monday and that's the 3rd I don't know.

Speaker 2:

3rd of March is. Monday and that's the Oscars. So do you have a quick rundown on Oscar nominations and who's winning?

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, that's good. That's what we did last year. We did.

Speaker 2:

Wow, that's a good idea.

Speaker 1:

I came up with it myself last year did wow, that's a good idea I came up with myself last year. Oh yeah, so the oscars is the second, I think, and the third I'm I'm taking the day off. The third because I'm gonna spend the night so I lied yeah, no, um, it's just me confusing you, that that's all. So I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 1:

But, anyhow, okay, so now we have to look up what movies are nominated, because I don't know them. Should I ask Google? Yeah, the funny thing is I have probably not seen any of the movies, but that's what makes me such a good judge of these movies because I have not seen them.

Speaker 2:

So we'll go through some of this year's nominated people. Yeah, and you're gonna tell me who wins okay, okay so the category is actor in a leading role.
