In a world where everything is unscripted, this is roasty toast, roasty are you ready? Are I ready?
SPEAKER_02:Are you ready?
SPEAKER_06:I are ready.
SPEAKER_02:How about now? Yes.
SPEAKER_06:Can we open this up? We can open this up.
SPEAKER_02:You can open this up.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:You do it.
SPEAKER_06:Stop laughing. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Funk.
SPEAKER_06:Yes.
SPEAKER_01:So I have this problem. Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I'm drinking water and I have this uh issue in which I drink my water too fast.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:So I prepare myself like water in my water bottle. I'm like, this is gonna last me a while, and then I drink it all. Like right after I think I'm gonna hold on to this for a while.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Because then I I like take a sip, be like, ooh, I like that. I like the water. So I I drink the rest. Okay. And then it's gone.
SPEAKER_06:I mean, that's better than uh because uh I mean that's me and like candy.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Or snacks. I I need candy. Yeah, take one and then it's gone. Yeah. The rest of it.
SPEAKER_06:I got a whole bowl full now. It's gonna take me a while. Five minutes later. Empty bowl. Bow bowl. Bowl. That's a difficult word for me.
SPEAKER_01:It is bowl.
SPEAKER_06:Because uh I make it sound like ball.
SPEAKER_02:It's an empty bowl.
SPEAKER_06:Bowl.
SPEAKER_02:I mean I guess there's worse problems I can have. I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna confess something. Okay. Okay. So if I go over to someone's house and they ask me if I want something to drink, like, yes, I would like some water. I'd like a glass of water. And they're like, okay, uh, and they gave they give me a glass of water and I I down the whole thing right then and there. Even though I'm sure that they're expecting me to just sip it over time.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:But I like I get really thirsty. So I have to drink the whole thing. And so I down this glass of water, and then I don't want to be like, okay, but uh can I have some more?
SPEAKER_06:You're like, shut, shut, shut, shut.
SPEAKER_02:No, that's not even what I'm thinking. I'm just thinking, I'm gonna have some water, and then I I just like I do, I chug the whole thing. Yeah, and then it's gone, and then I want more water, but yeah. Yeah, okay. I guess if I'm so desperate, I'll just get up and get more myself. Anyway, okay. Fun stories.
SPEAKER_06:You know, I think it's kind of funny that we didn't have warm-ups, but when we started, we started having warm-ups.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. It was just something that came up in my head. Um, I I feel like m my uh the way I respond to my glass of water isn't what's expected.
SPEAKER_06:Okay. Yeah. I just drink it really quick. Yeah, I don't have that problem.
SPEAKER_02:You don't drink water.
SPEAKER_06:I don't.
SPEAKER_02:You don't hydrate.
SPEAKER_06:That's why I don't have that problem.
SPEAKER_01:I guess.
SPEAKER_06:Makes sense.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Uh no, but uh it's more snacks for me.
SPEAKER_01:Mm. You get snacky.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, I have that problem with snacks. Cause when I have candy or whatever, I I'm like, how fast can I get this down in my stomach? You know?
SPEAKER_01:I think that's that's not good.
SPEAKER_06:No, I know. But uh I just want it to be inside me, you know? I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I guess so. That's what happens when you eat.
SPEAKER_01:Uh yes.
SPEAKER_06:Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Matias.
SPEAKER_01:I'm Lauren. And I'm Lauren.
SPEAKER_06:Lauren.
SPEAKER_01:I'm Lauren.
SPEAKER_06:You're Warren?
SPEAKER_01:I'm Lauren.
SPEAKER_02:Lauren with an L. And the rest is Orin. Shh. Oh, Oren.
SPEAKER_06:Lauren.
SPEAKER_01:No, I'm not an orange.
SPEAKER_06:Uh funny. Uh okay, no. Uh hello Lauren. Hello. Um.
SPEAKER_02:Hello.
SPEAKER_06:Welcome, Lauren.
SPEAKER_02:Thank you. Welcome yourself.
SPEAKER_06:Thank you.
SPEAKER_02:Back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Yes. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03:You're welcome.
SPEAKER_06:We are gonna be your besties for an hour or so. Yep. Yep. This is a great podcast.
SPEAKER_02:It is. Like one of the best.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Some people would say that. Where some people we are.
SPEAKER_02:Some of those people.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh this is the podcast in which you'll learn nothing at all.
SPEAKER_06:Oh yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_02:But still come back for more. Because we are irresistible.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:What are we gonna say next? No one knows. We don't even know.
SPEAKER_06:No. That's funny, because we never have scripts. Yeah, that's true. Anything. How are you doing? Hey Lauren.
SPEAKER_02:Hey!
SPEAKER_06:How are you doing?
SPEAKER_02:I'm good. How are you?
SPEAKER_06:I'm good.
SPEAKER_02:Good.
SPEAKER_06:Good. Okay, that was that.
SPEAKER_02:Alright.
SPEAKER_06:Uh how Let's take a break. Yeah. How was your week?
SPEAKER_02:My week was it was alright. Yeah. Kinda busy. I mean, there's like sometimes my week feels really busy, but then sometimes it feels like I'm not doing anything at all.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I have like really busy moments and then like way too calm moments. So uh last weekend my daughter had a competition in gymnastics. Oh yeah. Yes. Um, and it went well. We got up really early and we uh went to the competition we watched, but it was her first competition ever, so they didn't really get places, you know. But the judges were still taking down points. So I got to hear from our judge because every team has to present a or provide a judge.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Right?
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Um, so uh our judge came to me uh later on in the week and she told me that our group had actually gotten fourth place, but there was another team uh from the same gymnastics club, whatever, uh, that got first.
SPEAKER_00:Oh.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, everyone got a medal.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And like the placings and everything weren't really like official. They were just they were done for fun, pretty much. Um so that happened, and my oldest had his first boxing match the same day, but that was while I was at the competition. So um I missed it and I felt really bad. Yeah and I asked his father to film for me. Have I seen this film yet? No, I haven't.
SPEAKER_00:No.
SPEAKER_02:But uh I did talk to my oldest later that evening, and well, I called him and he said that he did not win, but he was uh two points behind.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:So whatever that means, it wasn't great for him. But I mean he he still had fun. It was his first one uh first match, and I think it probably went well. Yeah. I don't know. Okay. Uh that was my Saturday.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I was at home waiting for food because then I was gonna come to you.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yeah. Oh yeah, we we we did that.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. So uh yeah. Uh I um ev or eventually was ready for you to come pick me up.
SPEAKER_02:And then we had live mad libs.
SPEAKER_06:Yes, we did.
SPEAKER_02:And I think it went well.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. You also shaved my head.
SPEAKER_02:I did. I shaved your head, and then we went live, we played some mad libs with our audience.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And it was fun. Thanks to the people who joined us.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Thank you, person.
SPEAKER_02:Um, our next live mad libs is gonna be on December 13th, which is Lucia.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And it's a special event for the podcast, really.
SPEAKER_06:For special people.
SPEAKER_02:For special people. We're gonna do drunk Christmas karaoke live mad libs. Yeah. Which is a mouthful. I can I I have difficulties with the title, but that is as specific as I can get.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, this is the third year.
SPEAKER_02:Our third karaoke. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Cool.
SPEAKER_02:And it's always fun. Yeah. Oh my gosh, we have so much fun. Uh, every year. Uh, I believe there is one line that still sticks in my head, and it was from one of my songs. Oh, I had last Christmas. I had a really funny line, but I don't think I'm gonna say that here. I I knew that there was one line that just broke everything.
SPEAKER_03:I like tore down the microphone and everything.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it was good.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:But I believe you can find the recording of last year's Christmas karaoke on YouTube.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So uh go do that because it's a fun time. Anyway, that was Saturday. We also had Sunday.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:What did I do? I uh brought my daughter to her gymnastics. She had training uh again uh even after her competition on Saturday, but she wanted me to watch her, so I stayed there and I watched her, and then I ended up working, of course. Because for some reason I can't just sit at these things, I have to be a part of it. Uh so I assisted in spotting some of the girls and maybe playing a little bit as well. Yeah. I got pressured into showing off my skills.
SPEAKER_05:Ah, okay.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I stayed home. Oh. I think. Yeah. And uh then yeah, uh that was Sunday, right?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Well, I also went to my gymnastics class later that evening. So I went into town twice.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I had fun and I hurt my toe. So yeah, that's usually how it goes. So uh how'd the week go for you?
SPEAKER_06:Uh been at work the entire week. I it went well. It's been a fairly good week at work.
SPEAKER_02:Good. It's been tough waking up.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Especially because you were sick last week, right? Yeah. So not only were you working day shift, exactly. You also hadn't worked for a week.
SPEAKER_05:True.
SPEAKER_02:So it must have been tough.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, and uh you have to like reset your sleeping pattern every other week. Yeah. That's messed up.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. My week?
SPEAKER_06:Your week? How was it?
SPEAKER_02:It went well. I went to an old colleague's house on Monday, and we were supposed to grill.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:But the majority of the people wanted to stay inside because dark and cold and rainy. Oh yeah. We didn't want to grill outside. So we uh quote unquote grilled inside on the stove.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And Sick Child was there, and my life partner and Sick Child became really good friends with my old colleague. And yeah, it was it was nice, it was fun. Everyone tolerated Sick Child and his bursts of energy. And he just wanted to show off.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Uh Tuesday I uh led spinning. It was fun. Wednesday, my daughter made me go swimming with her, always fun. Yesterday was Thursday. What happened then? Oh, I went to gymnastics. I taught gymnastics and I got help this time, so it went better.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Than the past couple of weeks. So, I mean, my week's been pretty good. Yeah. And I got a good grade on my math test today. So I'm I'm feeling pretty good.
SPEAKER_06:Good.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, and today is Friday. Oh, yes, it is.
SPEAKER_02:You wanna know what we did today?
SPEAKER_06:Yes, I do.
SPEAKER_02:We w uh we wanted to watch movies.
SPEAKER_06:We wanted to.
SPEAKER_02:We wanted to. We didn't get to.
SPEAKER_06:Until later.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, we watched movies.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Um, would you like to move on?
SPEAKER_06:Let's move on.
SPEAKER_02:What?
SPEAKER_06:Let's move on. Right.
SPEAKER_02:Tonight we watched the Breakfast Club and Mexican Mel Gibson.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Yeah. It's uh called Get the Gringo.
SPEAKER_01:Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06:But I kinda like another title that it has.
SPEAKER_02:Uh, Mex Gibson.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, Mex Gibson. That's what it's called.
SPEAKER_02:That's what it should be called.
SPEAKER_06:Mex Gringo.
SPEAKER_02:Okay.
SPEAKER_06:Um, um how I spent my summer vacation.
SPEAKER_02:Interesting. That sounds like opposite of what it should be.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Um the kind of fun title for a serious movie. Yeah, for this kind of movie.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, that sounds like a comedy.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I'd be disappointed if I went to see this movie expecting it to be a comedy, and then it's just all serious. Like, what's this? I mean, sure, there was a couple of funny points. Anyway, uh we're we're gonna we're gonna talk about the Breakfast Club. Yeah. Anyway. We'll get to Mexican Mel Gibson later.
SPEAKER_00:But Gibson.
SPEAKER_02:Mex Gibson. I'm gonna talk about the break break break break break.
SPEAKER_06:Break break break break break.
SPEAKER_02:Break break break break into chickens here. Okay, okay. The Breakfast Club is what you're gonna tell me about.
SPEAKER_06:Oh yeah, yes I am.
SPEAKER_02:We started with that movie, and you get to tell me what is that.
SPEAKER_06:Uh this movie stars. Okay, Judd Nelson has like the biggest role.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevis, of course, Anthony Michael Hall, Paul Gleason, and the other girl Alice. Ellie Yeah. Ellie Sheedy.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. This is a John Hughes movie. It's about a group of youths get like detention on a Saturday. They have very strict supervisor guy guy. I don't know why I'm so low, but yeah, they have their own personalities. Or at least Judd Nelson's character is kind of a rebellious kid. They're supposed to write an essay, or but they don't really do that. They have other things they talk about or do instead. And yeah, what do I miss?
SPEAKER_02:Let's see. Basically they're there for like eight hours, right? And they pretty much kill the time by getting to know each other and it gets a little dramatic. And uh I mean they're kids, so they're gonna try to have some fun.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:As well. Yeah, you said that Judd Nelson is a bit rebellious, but in a way, if you think about it, they're all kind of rebellious in their own ways.
SPEAKER_06:He's the most open about it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. That's basically it, I think.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. It's kind of difficult to give a synopsis to this one. Or or like lengthy without going into what they're talking about. But I think you'll have to see the movie if you want.
SPEAKER_02:If you haven't, then you have to.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. So what do you think about this movie?
SPEAKER_02:I uh love this movie. This is definitely a favorite. Okay. At least like top hundred, because I mean, I have a lot of favorite movies.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:This movie I I saw it first in my sociology class in high school.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:We were supposed to uh like keep an eye on the differences between the kids and uh yeah, their personalities and their problems and uh the drama in their lives.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Basically.
SPEAKER_06:Because it feels like they're from like different social groups.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Every single one of them.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yeah. You've got the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal.
SPEAKER_04:Or rebel.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. They all come from different social statuses, they're in different cliques at school, and yeah. They're all different, but in a way they're all kind of suffering. They're all um unsatisfied with their home lives. And that's the one thing that they have in common. And that's kind of what they bond over.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. What did you think about this movie?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, it's kind of fun. I haven't seen the entire thing before.
SPEAKER_02:This is your first time.
SPEAKER_06:Seeing the entire thing, yes. I've seen I think that like the only thing I've seen is the dance scene, actually.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, okay. Did you like it?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, I did.
SPEAKER_02:Okay.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I have another question.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Was there one of the characters, uh the kids that you related to the most, whether it be now or when you were in high school? Who did you relate to the most?
SPEAKER_06:I think I relate most to Anthony Michael Hall, the nerd.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, yeah. Alright.
SPEAKER_06:That was me. Who was you? Okay. Who were you?
SPEAKER_01:Who am I? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Who are you?
SPEAKER_00:Who are you?
SPEAKER_02:Um, I related mostly to the basket case.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:You know, it's kind of funny because I did feel like really dark at the time. You uh probably couldn't really see it at first. Because I didn't like always dress up all like dark and goth. I mean, there were some times I did, but mostly it was like a band t-shirt and some jeans. Yeah. Right? That was my style. But um, so like I had this dark, sad personality, but I was a cheerleader at the same time.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So I was like conflicting. I was conflicting, yeah. Kind of a walking contradiction, if you think about it. So uh I knew how to fake a smile, which I don't know, can be kind of dangerous sometimes. But um, yeah, I I wasn't nearly as artistic as this girl was. No. But I was artistic in a way, at a lower level. Yeah. My own way. And yeah, uh yeah. I I guess I also felt kind of alone.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Because her problem at home was that her parents ignored her. Maybe sometimes I felt the same.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I'm not very much like the nerd guy, but then again, I don't see anyone else that I'm more like. Because I'm not s the sporty kind and I'm not the the criminal. No, I'm I don't think I'm any of the girls either.
SPEAKER_02:No, you weren't super popular.
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:But you weren't completely alone either.
SPEAKER_06:No. So I think that the nerd guy was most how I was. But uh with that said, I never had a gun in my locker. Or was it flare gun?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, but did you like strive for the highest grades?
SPEAKER_06:No, absolutely not.
SPEAKER_02:No, and you didn't feel the pressure to do that either.
SPEAKER_06:No, absolutely not.
SPEAKER_02:But you were generally neutral in a group of other kids.
SPEAKER_06:And kind of like the the shyness in him I can feel. Cause he he felt a little bit shy.
SPEAKER_00:Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06:That that was awkward. Yeah, that that was me. I don't know w why, but uh I got a little bit annoyed with the Judd Nelson character.
SPEAKER_01:Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I didn't really like him that much.
SPEAKER_01:Okay.
SPEAKER_06:But maybe that's cause I didn't have the best connection with those type of people.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Did he strike a nerve?
SPEAKER_06:Maybe.
SPEAKER_02:Some trauma in your life.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Okay. I I don't know. What's funny though is that the Emilio Esteves character, the sporty guy, he kinda looks like w a guy I knew who was a wrestler.
SPEAKER_01:Okay.
SPEAKER_06:And we were good friends until he decided that he's too cool for me and my other friend.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06:Uh that's the guy who kind of just ran away from just disappeared. Yeah, he he didn't want to hang out with us anymore.
SPEAKER_02:Hmm. Alright.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, that's it. I think. Did you have anything else? Is it one character you don't like?
SPEAKER_02:I never really cared for the princess, Claire.
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, no. Uh that's kind of funny that you really didn't like Judd Nelson's character because I really like him. Uh huh. I think he's funny. Oh. Uh, but yeah, no, that's just me. And I don't know. Always been into the rebels.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. No, I I I never liked those types of characters.
SPEAKER_02:No.
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:Well, I really like this movie. It's a classic. I enjoy it a lot.
SPEAKER_06:Good.
SPEAKER_02:Is that all?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_02:I'm gonna tell you about um the Mel de Gringo. Mel de Gringo.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Um what?
SPEAKER_06:Get the Gringo.
SPEAKER_02:Get the Gringo. And this is a movie with Mel Gibson. And he is a prisoner. Right. Yeah. Uh shocker. He keeps doing this, right?
SPEAKER_06:Last week he was stalone.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, right. We've got lots of people going to prison.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh Mel Gibson happens to be one of them, but it was a pretty chill prison.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh he was in Mexico.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And he became friends with a little boy who uh was really important within the prison. Yeah, it's his mom was the prisoner. He just happened to be there, I guess.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. It definitely didn't seem like a prison.
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:So there's some bad guys. They want to take the little boy's liver, and Mel Gibson beats up the bad guys. Yeah. Also, he pretends to be Clint Eastwood and he throws grenades at bad guys, and those were the best parts. Yeah. Which were also the funny parts of the movie.
SPEAKER_06:Him impersonating Clint Eastwood was so funny.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. It was very funny.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:What did you think about the movie?
SPEAKER_06:It was a while since I last saw this one. I think it's okay. It's pretty good. It wasn't what I remembered it. I don't know. I remembered it slightly different. Right now I can't really say why. I did like it though. I also like that um Hamilton, the Swedish Hamilton.
SPEAKER_01:Hamilton.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Is in this one. Peter Stormeier. He's not in it for long though, but uh He was there. Yeah, he was there. So I like that. It was fun. I don't know. Uh what did you think?
SPEAKER_02:What did I think of this movie? I I enjoyed it. I could keep up with it, which is more than I can say about a lot of the movies. Feels like sometimes that are on your side.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:But this one kept my attention. Yeah. So I liked it.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. It was funny and interesting and exciting and uh adjectives and I liked it. Those are some adjectives that you can use for Mad Libs. Yeah. If you chose to do so. If you chose to participate.
SPEAKER_06:Which I do.
SPEAKER_02:Uh what did you think of the movie? Uh I did you already answer this question?
SPEAKER_06:I I did. I Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Just a recap real quick. Did you like it, yes or no?
SPEAKER_06:I did like it.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Did you have anything else to say about the movie?
SPEAKER_06:It's directed by the same guy who directed the last Rambo movie.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Rambo 5, No More Blood.
SPEAKER_06:The Last Blood.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. I was close.
SPEAKER_06:Or just Last Blood, I think. Oh. Rambo, Last Blood.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, not No More Blood.
SPEAKER_06:No, but almost.
SPEAKER_02:I was really close. For a guess.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:That was good. Cool. That was cool. A fun fact.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Any more of those?
SPEAKER_06:The guy who he um blows up the office for.
SPEAKER_01:Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06:That guy, the the guy with the glasses, the older guy.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:He's in Shawshank Redemption. He placed the warden in that. Uh do you know what Shawshank Redemption is?
SPEAKER_02:Have we seen it?
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:Okay, no.
SPEAKER_06:I it's a prison movie.
SPEAKER_01:Oh.
SPEAKER_06:From 94. Yeah, I think it's kind of funny that uh he's in that prison movie and now he's in this prison movie.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:But maybe that was the That was on purpose. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Mm-mm.
SPEAKER_02:Hmm. Have to research.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Maybe. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Maybe the makers of this movie didn't know that he was in another prison movie.
SPEAKER_02:Maybe. Maybe he kept it a secret.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Alright, is that all?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02:Alright. Would you like to take a break?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, let's take a break.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. We'll be right back.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. See you soon.
SPEAKER_02:Bye.
SPEAKER_06:And we're back.
SPEAKER_02:Hello. We are back.
SPEAKER_06:We are.
SPEAKER_02:Yes. Are we just gonna jump into this or did you want to distract with something else?
SPEAKER_06:We can jump into it.
SPEAKER_02:We're jumping in. Okay. Matthias.
SPEAKER_06:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:It is nearing it it's like halfway through uh November, right? Yeah. And uh you know what's coming up?
SPEAKER_06:No, I have no idea.
SPEAKER_02:No idea. Okay. Thanksgiving is coming up.
SPEAKER_06:Oh, okay, cool.
SPEAKER_02:Uh we s we live in Sweden for people who are listening for the first time.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And uh we do celebrate Thanksgiving, but only because I'm American. Yes. Uh but this year we're gonna think we're gonna Thanksgiving next week.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Uh 22nd. Little bit early.
SPEAKER_02:We're gonna have an early Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I I mean I I haven't done the Thanksgiving thing before meeting you.
SPEAKER_02:Right.
SPEAKER_06:So I'm fairly new to this.
SPEAKER_02:This is your third Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, right?
SPEAKER_02:With me. Right.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, well, ever.
SPEAKER_02:Ever. Ever, ever.
SPEAKER_06:It's like I'm three.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. This is Thanksgiving for a three-year-old.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh so what I'm gonna do today is I'm gonna teach you about Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:Good.
SPEAKER_02:Okay?
SPEAKER_06:It's good to train the three-year-olds.
SPEAKER_02:I'm yes. Um, I've already told you the story behind Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, the history.
SPEAKER_02:The history. Uh a couple times in uh a few different ways.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, both both the first one and the second one.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:And something like that.
SPEAKER_02:I've told the story three times though, right?
SPEAKER_06:Uh I think so, but I don't remember how it was last time.
SPEAKER_02:No. The first time. Yeah, the second time, kinda the last no, I don't remember at all what we said. I'm gonna have to re-listen to last year's anniversary episode. Which we'll be doing next week for a sneak peek, I guess. Yeah. Um, a subtle hint of the plans. Anyway, Matthias, please tell me what do you what is Thanksgiving? If you were to explain to me what Thanksgiving is, do that now, please.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know words.
SPEAKER_06:This is m me trying to explain movies. I don't know. I'm the movie nerd and I can't explain movies. But uh okay, explain Thanksgiving. You're the Thanksgiving nerd.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, but if you were to guess.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:So from So in a way it's kind of switched. So uh you are me uh explaining a movie. Okay.
SPEAKER_06:Okay. So Thanksgiving. That's uh to me it feels almost like um an early Christmas.
SPEAKER_01:Okay. In which ways?
SPEAKER_06:Inviting friends and family and uh uh eating dinner and uh being happy and that's a requirement is being happy.
SPEAKER_02:There's no drama ever during the The holidays.
SPEAKER_06:Eating a bird. Well, yeah, we don't really do that for Christmas.
SPEAKER_02:But eat pigs.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Eat an animal.
SPEAKER_03:An animal. Pig an animal. And eat it.
SPEAKER_06:Watch movies. Yeah, that's uh and then uh do some um what is it called? The board games or yeah. Yeah, that's what we usually do.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:From my past experiences.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Okay, so as we usually do, uh we ask OpenEyes its opinion here.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So I told OpenAI to teach Matthias about Thanksgiving. And it said, uh, here's a friendly, kid-appropriate explanation you can share with Matias.
SPEAKER_06:Perfect for a three-year-old.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, assuming Matthias is a child. So what is Thanksgiving? It is a holiday celebrated mainly in the United States and Canada. It's a special day for giving thanks for the good things in our lives, like family, friends, food, and fun.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:So uh like I already touched on, I've told you the history. Uh we all know that's the real story.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:But this is what open eyes is telling me. Oh. The history of Thanksgiving. Yeah. So it says a long time ago, in 1621, a group of English settlers called the Pilgrims had a big feast with the Wampanoag uh Native Americans. Not the Amindians, but Native Americans.
SPEAKER_06:Okay. Yeah, see, they already got it wrong.
SPEAKER_02:The Wampanoag uh helped the pilgrims learn how to grow food in their new home. After the harvest, they all shared a meal together to celebrate. This idea of sharing and being thankful eventually became Thanksgiving. We all know how that ended, though.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And the rock uh apparently came way before this. Oh. The rock that the pilgrims crashed into. Um, okay. So how do people celebrate today? Uh traditionally, most families eat a big meal together. Like turkey, potatoes, corn, pumpkin pie, and cranberries. And we have them. We have the turkey, we have mashed potatoes, we also have sweet potatoes. Yeah. Mashed sweet potatoes. Uh corn comes in the form of muffins, which is the preferred form of corn. Pumpkin pie and cranberries. And the cranberries we haven't had before because for some reason I'm terrified of them. But this year, or last year, it was suggested that we have cranberry jello shots. So that's something we're gonna try this year.
SPEAKER_04:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:And uh who suggested it? Someone.
SPEAKER_04:Okay. Yeah, that person.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Um, I can't tell you.
SPEAKER_04:No.
SPEAKER_02:I remember it being brought up, but I can't tell you what the scenario was and who was involved in this conversation.
SPEAKER_05:Was it a dream?
SPEAKER_02:I might have had a dream of cranberry jello shots. Alright, what else do people do? They spend time with family and friends, watch parades, play games, or enjoy sports. And talk about.
SPEAKER_06:Never try that.
SPEAKER_02:No. And they talk about what they're thankful for.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So the big message is basically Thanksgiving is really about gratitude, noticing good things and appreciating them. It's also a time to be kind, help others, and enjoy being together. Okay, so any questions about that?
SPEAKER_06:No. I I think I pretty much nailed it.
SPEAKER_02:I feel like we cover most of that for Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Maybe we should start playing football.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02:There should probably be a point during the day when I send everyone out to play football.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Or wrestling.
SPEAKER_02:No. We don't have to wrestle. No.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Uh so the traditions. I already touched on this, but I'm gonna go through it again in case I need to go into details on these things. So we've got the dinner, which is the main event.
SPEAKER_05:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:Uh the family gathering. Um, people often help cook together or set the table in a festive way. And then after eating, many enjoyed board games, puzzles, or relaxing together.
SPEAKER_06:Do we have game for this year?
SPEAKER_02:I believe so. What it was, I don't remember.
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:Parades and entertainment with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Uh, it's a big tradition. Usually we have our Thanksgiving after the actual Thanksgiving, the Saturday after. But this year we're having it the Saturday before. So there will be no parade to watch.
SPEAKER_06:Unless we watch other years.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, of course. And I love watching like the firsts. Like I've said before in other episodes, I like the firsts of like the movies and stuff. It's the same thing with the parades.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Like anything firsts, especially if it's like really, really old.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I'm into it.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Except for the first like audio recording. Creepy. Don't like it. Don't care for it.
SPEAKER_06:Okay. So you listen to that?
SPEAKER_02:I think I have heard like a really old audio recording. I don't know if it's the first first, but it's up there. And it was creepy. I didn't care for it. But yeah, the Thanksgiving parades, they started what, 50s, 60s maybe?
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know. But they were black and white. When did color start?
SPEAKER_06:I don't know.
SPEAKER_02:Anyway, yeah, we can watch past parades.
SPEAKER_05:We can do that.
SPEAKER_02:Uh some families watch Thanksgiving movies or special TV episodes.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And we watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Yeah. All the turkeys in the oven.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, and we also at least once watched Free Birds.
SPEAKER_02:Right. We did that. And then we lost it.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Where'd it go?
SPEAKER_05:I don't know.
SPEAKER_02:Not good. Uh sports traditions. Watching American football games, especially the teams that play every year on Thanksgiving Day. Uh, some communities hold turkey trot morning races or fun runs.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:So they start their day by going on a marathon. All right. Well, it sounds like fun. It's not the worst idea if you're gonna go eat a ton later. Another thing people do, they give back. So many people volunteer at food banks or community kitchens, and some people donate food to families in need, which is a common way to give thanks.
SPEAKER_06:That's nice of them.
SPEAKER_02:I do recall donating like canned foods for Thanksgiving before. But that was in the States. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, we don't have uh much of that here since we don't really celebrate Thanksgiving in Sweden.
SPEAKER_02:But Sweden is slowly trying.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, we're I mean we don't know why. We Americanize everything.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yeah. So I mean Halloween has been growing, you know, inch by inch every year. And I believe last year was the first time I heard of people like actually doing Thanksgiving at home. Uh even though they have they're zero percent s American. Yeah. Which I mean, sure, whatever. Do whatever you want.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:It's just a little I don't know, it's a little weird.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_02:And I mean I mean, I do it because I'm American and I invite my American friends and friends who are who could probably pass as American.
SPEAKER_06:And me.
SPEAKER_02:Uh yeah, well, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Can I pass as an American?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Really? Mm-hmm. You'll do well in the States.
SPEAKER_06:Okay. I think so.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:I'm not loud.
SPEAKER_02:Not all of them are.
SPEAKER_06:I can be.
SPEAKER_02:You yeah. I'm sure you can be.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. But um I mean, if someone says anything bad about Jackie Chan.
SPEAKER_02:You're screaming.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:You also scream in the shower.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, I do.
SPEAKER_02:So you practice.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Let's see. Uh what else? Seasonal traditions. So we can decorate the homes with fall colors. Fall colors. My words are falling. Uh, like orange, red, brown, pumpkins, and leaves. Yeah. Uh also going on autumn walks or playing outside before winter arrives. Except it's been extremely frosty today.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So I'm worried it's not gonna be very fall by the time we celebrate Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:Um, fall is gonna be frozen.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I mean, it's still fall, it's just frozen. Fall has fallen.
SPEAKER_02:Fall has fallen and now it's frost.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:It slipped and fell. Whoops. Fall slipped and fell.
SPEAKER_02:Okay, Matthias, here's the good part. Okay. So here is what not to do at Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. The worst behavior possible.
SPEAKER_06:Saying you're welcome is Yeah, you're welcome.
SPEAKER_02:I'm thankful for the food. Uh, you're welcome.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Okay, out of ten, I got a top ten of worst behaviors for Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Number one, which made me laugh immediately. Like I didn't even have to go through the list. This first one made me laugh. Show up empty-handed, which, okay, I'm gonna bring up that point. It's not a requirement to bring anything. I'm providing this meal. Okay. If you bring something, cool. I'm not upset. Do that.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:It's not a requirement.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. So, uh, anyway, the first one was show up empty-handed and complain about the food. Saying this is the driest turkey ever is a fast track to getting uninvited next year.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Please don't complain about the food. I've spent six hours working on it. If it's so dry, drain drown drain it.
SPEAKER_06:Drown. Just go drown.
SPEAKER_02:Drown it in gravy and you'll be okay.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02:The gravy's really good too. So if you don't like the turkey, have something else.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_02:I have always had a hard time with the turkeys for Thanksgiving because I've always thought it was really dry. I've had really bad experiences as a young child eating really dry turkey, and my dad telling me to eat it anyway, and so I just had to choke it down, and it was just like, yeah, I can't stand this.
SPEAKER_06:It feels like uh turkey is a dry bird.
SPEAKER_02:It's a dry bird.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_06:Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_02:Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_06:Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_03:Dry bird turkey. I'm trying to make something out of this. Keep going. Something's gonna come up. Yeah. Driver turkey.
SPEAKER_06:Driver turkey.
SPEAKER_03:Driver turkey. Like there's nothing actually funny about it. Okay. Okay. Is that what the sound vo sound voice just gonna be? Driver turkey, driver, turkey, driver, turkey, driver, turkey. Yeah. What just showed up on my screen. Okay. That was just number one. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Out of ten.
SPEAKER_03:Ten. Okay, number two. If I get through this list, I'm gonna be happy. Okay. Touch all the food with your hands just to see what it feels like.
SPEAKER_06:Shove it in the turkey too.
SPEAKER_03:Shove your hand inside the turkey. Thanksgiving is not a sensory play table. If I see someone stick their hand into every single uh food, I'm gonna be really upset. Okay.
SPEAKER_06:I can do that.
SPEAKER_02:I know you can, but don't.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Um number three, start an argument the moment dinner is served Matias.
SPEAKER_03:Beginning with, let me tell you why everyone here is wrong. Is a Thanksgiving a nightmare?
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_03:Please don't do that.
SPEAKER_06:Have I done that?
SPEAKER_03:Uh no, but it feels like maybe you could.
SPEAKER_06:Maybe I could.
SPEAKER_03:Maybe you could.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, if everyone's wrong. Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02:Well, okay.
SPEAKER_06:But I mean, if I right if I'm right about something and everyone else disagrees, yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Alright. Not going well.
unknown:No.
SPEAKER_02:Uh number four. This one I wouldn't have a huge problem with because I expect to do everything anyway. But number four is fall asleep on the couch before helping with the dishes. Which I mean, people have done that before. And I get it. I mean, some years we've had dinner a bit later, you eat a lot of food, and you've been drinking, you're tired, you crash on the couch.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Whatever, no big deal. For me at least. But this says bonus bad points if you snore loudly or take up the entire couch. Okay, if you are a very tall and drunk, tired, full person, and you take up the entire couch, that's gonna be a problem because other people want to sit on the couch.
SPEAKER_06:Also, That sure sounds like me.
SPEAKER_02:My couch is pretty long. It is. So if you are so freakishly long that you take up the entirety of my couch, I'm not even sure why you're there. How do you get through the door? And uh I don't even know you. What are you doing here?
SPEAKER_06:You know, this list is for people with short couches.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Okay, I don't have a short couch. Not anymore. I used to have a short couch.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And also a big couch. And now I only have an even bigger couch.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:It's like both of those couches combined, pretty much. Which is nice.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Number five. Give an unsolicited 20-minute speech before anyone can eat. Please do not hold anyone back from eating. No one's gonna be happy.
SPEAKER_06:Hey, everyone, shut up. I've gotta talk now.
SPEAKER_03:And no one can take anything yet.
SPEAKER_06:I haven't had my hands in it in everything yet.
SPEAKER_03:I'm gonna give a review based on the texture of each food here.
SPEAKER_06:Too dry.
SPEAKER_03:It's hot. Ow. Ow. I don't even like this one. Why is it here?
SPEAKER_06:And it's too dry.
SPEAKER_03:It's disgusting and it's on my hand now.
SPEAKER_06:It dries my hand out.
SPEAKER_03:My hands are not attractive.
SPEAKER_06:No. It's because of this food.
SPEAKER_03:This food makes my hands unattractive.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_03:This is a problem.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Number six. Take all the best pieces of food before anyone else gets a chance. So if you grab the whole turkey leg for later, that is villain level behavior.
SPEAKER_06:Wow.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Villain.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Because everyone wants a leg. Okay. Because the breast is so dry. The legs are always the best part.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Also, I'm gonna add on to that one is if you take a really big portion of one thing, especially for your first taking, your first serving, yeah, that might be a problem. Because especially if there's more people there, you want everything to last for everyone.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So if you are taking your first servings, take, you know, a one scoop. There's plenty of food. It's all gonna fill your plate. Just take the one scoop, and then if you want more and everyone's already taken some, then go ahead and take more. That's my point of view.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:But that's just because I want everything to last for everyone. I want enough for everyone. Which is something I stress over a bit.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I always think this isn't enough. This isn't enough. And sometimes it's not enough. Uh okay. So number seven is overshare awkward personal details at the table. So if grandma doesn't need to know it, maybe keep it to yourself. So don't be telling everyone about like your sad, depressing sex life. I guess.
SPEAKER_04:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Don't do that.
SPEAKER_04:Stop that then.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I mean, I was trying to be subtle about it, but if you could like not no one wants to know. Um number eight. Do not feed the dog under the table, and then act surprised when it jumps onto the table so that everyone's plate is now in danger.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. First of all, I don't have a dog. You don't have a dog.
SPEAKER_02:I do have a bunny, but he does not dare go into the kitchen.
SPEAKER_04:No.
SPEAKER_02:And he probably wouldn't want to eat the majority of our food anyway.
SPEAKER_00:No.
SPEAKER_02:Maybe the stuffing veggies. But that's it. Nothing I don't think he'd really go for anything else. No. Uh so that's not a problem that we have, but I'm sure others do.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh don't feed the dog. Number nine. Spill your drink and pretend it wasn't you. Especially if you blame a child or the cat. Uh, don't have a cat, but I do have children.
SPEAKER_06:And a bunny.
SPEAKER_02:I do have a bunny. But you can only blame the bunny if you are sitting on the couch. Because, I mean, if he knows you, he might attack you. Not in a bad way. He'll just jump on you.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Be like, hello. And then, you know, you might get startled and spill your drink. Don't do that. But yeah. Uh, how about we don't spill the drinks in general? Okay. Whether you admit it or not.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Accidents happen, but don't do it on purpose.
SPEAKER_06:Sounds like a good rule.
SPEAKER_02:If you don't like the wine, don't just dump it on the floor. Okay? Please. We don't really have wine anyway. No. We have eggnog. Everyone loves it, so it better not be on the floor.
SPEAKER_06:Exactly.
SPEAKER_02:Or else I'm gonna be mad. We're gonna have drama if there's eggnog on the floor.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Okay, Matias, here's one for you. Actually, you know what? Uh, number 10, the last one, and I'm not even subtle about it. I'm gonna say it directly. Do not stay glued to your phone the entire time. Okay, so taking selfies with a turkey is fine, but ignoring the humans is not.
SPEAKER_03:I like that you're the one telling me Okay, but I I'm spending most of the time uh cooking food, right?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. And uh filming and taking pictures and Yeah, but that's filming and taking pictures.
SPEAKER_02:I'm not on the internets and stuff.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Scrolling. Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
SPEAKER_06:Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. That's Clint Eastwood.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Is that his song?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:About social media.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. Raw Hyde.
SPEAKER_02:But yeah, that was uh that was my list. Yeah. I hope you learned something.
SPEAKER_06:I did.
SPEAKER_02:What did you learn?
SPEAKER_06:That I'm not supposed to shove my hands in the food.
SPEAKER_02:Right.
SPEAKER_06:And I'm not gonna have a speech holding everyone back from the food. Yeah, no, exactly. And uh yeah, other things. Not looking at my phone.
SPEAKER_02:Ah, there we go. Good that you learned something. Um, anything else? No. Feeling pretty good?
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Alright, well, as we near the end of the episode, would you like to tell me what is currently ruining your life?
SPEAKER_06:I guess it's uh that I don't see you that much anymore. It's uh now it feels like it's just once or twice a week.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Before it's been almost every day.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:But now it's less.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:So that's that's too bad.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it's it's a little sad. I'm gonna have to steal that one because I've been feeling it a lot this week. Uh I'm lacking Matias throughout my week. We went from seeing each other every single day at work to, you know, uh a few times a week.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Almost every day. Yeah. And then now it's like once or twice a week. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. I've been missing you.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, during the summer we had our walks.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. And now it's dark. Yeah. And it's getting chilly. We don't really want to go for walks. And the last time we went on a really dark walk, it didn't go so well because it was windy and it was awful. And I couldn't see anything. So it was kind of scary. Um, are you done with your sips?
SPEAKER_06:Yes, I'm done with my sips. I'm all out of sip and ha bl.
SPEAKER_02:Are you all upset?
SPEAKER_06:I'm all upset.
SPEAKER_02:I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_06:I'm all out of sips.
SPEAKER_02:Well, I'm glad that we're finishing this episode if you're so upset.
SPEAKER_06:We're all out of sips. Yeah. So we're all out of episode.
SPEAKER_02:That's right.
SPEAKER_06:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:Would you like to wrap this up?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, let's do that.
SPEAKER_02:Thank you. Yeah, thank you. Is what I was saying. Thanks to the people who are listening.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh, thanks for listening to the episode.
SPEAKER_00:Thank you.
SPEAKER_02:Uh hope that you also learned something and enjoyed what you heard and come back for more. Subscribe to this sad podcast that is just barely rolling along.
SPEAKER_06:Sadcast.
SPEAKER_02:The sad cast. I did get fan mail. Oh, cool. Uh regarding last week's episode, which was about what did we talk about?
SPEAKER_06:We talked about uh cooking.
SPEAKER_02:We did. And I got uh fan mail from our favorite listener, Heather.
SPEAKER_06:Yay!
SPEAKER_02:My sister. She says, uh oh. I'm cooking all wrong because I usually have a glass of wine while cooking, which was an absolute no. Uh, based on last week's episode. You're not allowed to do that. Mistakes can be made.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And you'll probably burn down your house if you do that.
SPEAKER_05:Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So I uh recommend that you stop.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Alright.
SPEAKER_05:Alright.
SPEAKER_02:Um, like I said, our next live mad libs, the drunk Christmas karaoke live mad libs, is gonna be on December 13th. We start up around 8 p.m. Swedish time. Yes. Uh, which is also 2 p.m. uh on the eastern coast of the United States.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Their time zone. And it's gonna be a lot of fun. Uh if we have any lines like the ones we had last year, then it's gonna be hilarious. And we'll have alcoholic sips, and it's gonna be good. Everything is good. We'll be back next week with another episode.
SPEAKER_06:Yep.
SPEAKER_02:Celebrating three years of roasty toasty ghosty.
SPEAKER_06:Yay!
SPEAKER_02:Wow. What are we doing with our lives?
SPEAKER_06:Exactly. Yeah, few people know.
SPEAKER_02:Right. No one knows. This is what we're doing. We're just sitting here talking about who knows what.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Uh and we're gonna continue for a really long time, apparently.
SPEAKER_06:I think so.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Uh as long as we're watching movies, we'll probably have an episode.
SPEAKER_06:As long as there there's movies.
SPEAKER_02:As long as there's movies to watch, we'll be making episodes.
SPEAKER_06:Yep.
SPEAKER_02:Alright. Um, thanks again. Be back next week.
SPEAKER_06:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:Anything else?
SPEAKER_06:No.
SPEAKER_02:Alright. Um, have a good life.
SPEAKER_06:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:And goodbye.
