SPEAKER_02

In a world where everything is unscripted, this is roasty, toasty, roasty.

SPEAKER_05

And I got I got a discount because I'm a student. Oh. And and I showed the guy my ticket and he's like, oh, and I see that you got a student ticket. You wanna prove that? And I was like, Yes, I do. And I already had my student card up and ready. Because I knew that he'd ask. And like, here it is. He's like, Oh, looks good. You can go in. Like, where am I going?

SPEAKER_06

What? Where?

SPEAKER_01

He's like, I don't know. I don't work here.

SPEAKER_06

Down the hall? I don't know. Figure it out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I've never been here. I haven't either. It's my first day.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

We're all lost.

SPEAKER_03

What wait a minute. Did you go up on stage showing the card?

SPEAKER_05

Like, I'm a student. He's like, good job. It was like Wayne's World with a VIP pass. Yeah. Just shove it in everyone's face. I'm a student. Aren't you too old to be a student? Studium. Studium? Studium, maybe. Yeah. Alright, should we maybe start?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we can do that. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

It's time to open up.

SPEAKER_02

Let's open this thing up.

SPEAKER_05

That was like perfect.

SPEAKER_02

Synchronized.

SPEAKER_05

Chairs.

SPEAKER_02

Chairs.

SPEAKER_05

I haven't seen you all week.

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_05

Have I? I went to your house, but I didn't see you.

SPEAKER_02

I know. I didn't even know you did. So if you had told me, I would.

SPEAKER_05

Why is it that you don't just like stand in your bedroom and stare out your window the whole time? Like riff raps.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, okay. Is that Lauren?

SPEAKER_05

Is that Lauren? Is that Lauren? There's a car coming. Is that Lauren?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like a dog.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Just like waiting for me.

SPEAKER_06

When I see you, I'm like, Mom's like, what are you even doing up there? I'm waiting for Lauren. Is she coming? No. No, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No. She comes uh in two days, but uh I'll be waiting.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You never know.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_05

Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Go Team. My name is Lauren.

SPEAKER_02

And my name is Matias.

SPEAKER_05

My name is Lauren.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Did you did you say my name Lauren?

SPEAKER_05

No. I was like, my name is Lauren. Oh, okay. Like I you might have thought otherwise, but it actually is Lauren.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, that's cool. Yeah. And my name is Matthias.

SPEAKER_05

That's right. Unless.

SPEAKER_02

Unless you want to call me Matthews.

SPEAKER_05

Math Matthews.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Morpheus.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Or Matt.

SPEAKER_05

Matt. My name's Matt.

SPEAKER_02

Like your grandma called me. She also called me Maddie. When we went to the place I had the shrimps, we sat at different tables.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah. Okay, okay, okay.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Then I um didn't hear her at first because she wanted to ask me what I thought about the food. And then she's like, Maddie! Maddie!

SPEAKER_06

Like screaming at you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, then I'm like, oh, it's me.

SPEAKER_06

She's talking to me.

Weekend In Stockholm And Gymnastics Course

SPEAKER_05

It's really important to know your opinion on the food. Yeah. So much so that we are going to scream for your attention. Yes. So Matias. How are you doing?

SPEAKER_02

Uh I'm doing well. Cool. Yeah? How are you doing?

SPEAKER_05

I'm good. Good. I'm better.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

We're all good now.

SPEAKER_02

Were you worse?

SPEAKER_05

I was. And before that I was even worse, but now I'm better.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. How worse were you?

SPEAKER_05

I was I had a cold.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Not or no, I had allergies. Yeah. And then I still kinda had allergies, and now I'm good.

SPEAKER_02

I have trouble with stuffy nose during nights. Oh. Night nose. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You have a case of the night nose. Night nose.

SPEAKER_02

Night nose.

SPEAKER_05

Night nose. Night nose.

SPEAKER_03

Night nine nose. Yeah, I have to say goodnight to all my body parts.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god. That's a little weird.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_05

You really need to get a job.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I do.

SPEAKER_05

Way too much time on your hands.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So I also feel like I have like scabs inside my nose. Yep. You probably do. Yeah, I don't like it.

SPEAKER_05

No. I have a scab on my scalp. That's all.

SPEAKER_02

Cool story.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you. It's just really annoying.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know. I have scabs on my head. I have a head and it's really annoying. Yeah, it's so annoying.

SPEAKER_05

My whole head is just one big scab, and I just like to rip it off sometimes.

SPEAKER_02

And I just can't stop picking at it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, there goes my head again. The whole thing. Yeah. Mom.

SPEAKER_06

I need a band-aid.

SPEAKER_03

Lost my head again.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

We were saying something.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah. How are you?

SPEAKER_05

Welcome.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm good. I'm better.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm also good.

SPEAKER_05

We're gonna be your besties for the next hour or so. Also, this is the podcast in which you will learn nothing at all. Yeah. And I got that out of the way. Yeah. So I think we can talk now.

SPEAKER_02

Now we can talk.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna tell you about my weekend.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_05

Because it was a really fun weekend. It was so busy that you had to edit last week's episode.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, anyway, anyway. Last weekend I went to Stockholm and I went to a course through gymnastics and I learned how to dance.

SPEAKER_04

Wow.

SPEAKER_05

And it was really fun. And I stayed the night in Stockholm because it was a two-day course. So yeah, I spent the night in a hotel and it was like a fancy hotel and it was really nice. And I had a bathtub, so I took bath.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_05

I took a bath. I took bath.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Me took bath.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, cool. Bath. A bath I took.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. I took a bath and the bath I took, I took it with me. I brought it home.

SPEAKER_03

You're like, bye.

SPEAKER_05

Just taking the tub.

SPEAKER_03

Take the tub with you.

SPEAKER_05

It's so nice I took it with me. I had to steal it. No, I took a bath and then I started watching Melody Festivalen. Because it was the finale.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Why are words difficult? Finale.

SPEAKER_02

Finally.

SPEAKER_05

The finally. Yeah. It was the finally because I was ready for it to be over.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So me telling you who won and everything, it wasn't really necessary or it was necessary because I only watched the first three. Ah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

And then I decided I was gonna go to the comedy club that was in my hotel and watch some comedians tell some jokes, and it was really fun. And I fought myself for like an hour before if I was even gonna go or not. But I I decided I'm gonna go, otherwise I'm gonna regret not going. I had to.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And so I went and it was fun. And then I went to bed. And then the next day I went back to my course and then I came home. I finished my course and I passed.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I got my certificate that says that I can kinda dance. And it says we hereby certify Lauren. She kinda can dance.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Was it like a post-it note or something?

SPEAKER_05

No. No. No, it was a PDF.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. Okay. Okay. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Not even a sticky note.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

So yeah, that was my weekend and it was really fun. And I worked on Monday and Tuesday.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And then on Wednesday, I got to stay home and I had to study for my final. That was today. Okay. So I did that Wednesday and Thursday. Yes. That's what I did. Okay. I worked and I studied.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I've been learning things. Oh, cool. And I did do my written part of my final today. And I was so stressed out. But it went well. It only took me a couple hours, I think. We were given four hours. And I got out like, yeah, two and a half hours. And you're here now.

SPEAKER_02

I'm here. I haven't done much. I'm still home searching for jobs and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Well, today is Friday. It's March 13th.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Friday the 13th. Again.

SPEAKER_05

Again. Second month in a row.

Friday The 13th Funeral Reflections

SPEAKER_02

I went to funeral today.

SPEAKER_05

You did? On Friday the 13th.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Again.

SPEAKER_05

Is that bad luck?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, but I'd done it before.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Three years ago on your birthday. That's right.

SPEAKER_05

How'd it go?

SPEAKER_02

It went well. We got sandwich cake afterwards. And the funeral went well. It uh was my uncle whom I haven't seen for like 20 years or so. I always wanted to see him again, but then like the last years I I heard that he had like dementia and wasn't responsive at all. I didn't really want to experience that.

Grudge Match Review And Favorite Moments

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no. I get it.

SPEAKER_02

What else did we do?

SPEAKER_05

We watched movies.

SPEAKER_02

We did?

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Would you like to movie on?

SPEAKER_02

Let's move on.

SPEAKER_05

So tonight we watched was it called Grudgment Day?

SPEAKER_02

Uh Grudge Match.

SPEAKER_05

Grudge Match and Punch Drunk Love.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Deep breaths. We're getting into this.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So it was interesting.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, I'm gonna tell you about Grudge Match.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

This is a movie with Stallone and Robert De Niro.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

And um Stallone missed being Rocky. So him and Robert De Niro. De Niro. Him and Robert De Niro are former boxers who uh used to box each other back in the day, and they're coming back for one final match.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. So that was fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Um, what did you think about the movie?

SPEAKER_02

Uh I I think it's an interesting movie. It's a comedy, uh boxing comedy. It's okay. Some parts are funny, some are less funny, but I think it's kind of fun the fact that both of these actors had done iconic boxing movies before.

SPEAKER_05

Like what did Robert Dero do?

SPEAKER_02

He uh did a movie called Raging Bull.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And Rocky, of course, for Stallone. So I mean that's kind of fun to see that they go up against each other. Yeah. You know, like that. I think that's like the whole purpose of this movie. And it's a fun concept that way. I have to say that I kinda like it. What did you think?

SPEAKER_05

I really liked it. Oh. I enjoyed this movie a lot.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Good. D do you wanna do you wanna I was trying to think if there was something else I wanted to say about it, but I was also trying to remember what else happened in this movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Kevin Hart is in this movie.

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah, he is. And he's funny.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah. There's like this lady who uh was in between them, I guess. Yeah, no, I I really like this movie.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Good.

SPEAKER_05

It was good, it was funny, and I enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I really like the movies where people come back. Yeah. Especially in that kind of like fun way. So yeah. Yeah. That that's what I have to say about that. Cool. Do you have anything else?

SPEAKER_02

No, not really.

SPEAKER_05

Are you sure?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think so. Okay. Or am I forgetting something?

SPEAKER_05

I hope you are.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Otherwise, we have to move on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Maybe we should just to get it over with.

SPEAKER_05

To the next movie.

Punch Drunk Love And Why It Fails

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Punch Drunk Love. This is a movie starring Adam Sander. He finds a piano-ish. What what was about that car crash in the beginning?

SPEAKER_05

Because that never It was so random and no one cared about it.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

It was the piano. Yeah that was the big deal. It just like randomly dropped the piano.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Nicely. And there was nothing even in it. I thought there was money or something in it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And uh then uh there's a girl leaving a car there uh at the his job uh where he works. And uh Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You know, his job where he works.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Makes sense now. I explained the movie for you.

SPEAKER_06

Good job. He has a job and he works there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And then he calls uh sex line and then he is he what is it called? Blackmailed or no, not really. Scammed scammed. Definitely. Yeah. Yeah. By this call. That kind of spirals the whole story, and he gets people after him, and he meets this girl. It's the girl with the car, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's the same girl.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. They fall in love and he's weird and there's a lot of small other things that are going on. Yeah, I don't really know what else to say. That's what a movie is about. It's about the call.

SPEAKER_05

Pretty much.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, a piano and the call. So what do you think about this movie?

SPEAKER_05

I felt really uncomfortable the whole time, honestly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It was the background music mostly. Yeah. It was distracting and it had an off-feeling the whole time. And it his like antics were really weird, and I wasn't really sure how to pinpoint exactly what was going on with him or what was wrong with him, and that they never said anything. No. But then again, this was early 2000s, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And they didn't talk much about these things then.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_05

It wasn't such a big deal. We didn't label the mental issues.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_05

Like the OCD and autism and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_05

It was all bad at the time. Yeah. So he's just like pictured as this big weirdo.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I was so disappointed because I was like waiting for the funny stuff to happen and never really did. I mean, some things were mildly, mildly funny. But yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I've heard about this movie before. Yeah. But I'm not really sure now what was mentioned about it.

SPEAKER_02

No, I never seen it.

SPEAKER_05

No, me neither.

SPEAKER_02

No. I watch YouTube and like people said that someone was asked, what's the best Adam Sandler movie? And they said Punch Drunk Love. And I'm like, okay, I guess. And now when we were watching his movies, I'm like, okay, I guess we we're gonna watch this one.

SPEAKER_05

Sure. If it's the best ever.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and I don't agree at all.

SPEAKER_05

No, me neither.

SPEAKER_02

I guess this is supposed to be like an artsy movie.

SPEAKER_05

I can see them. Yeah. It was messy though.

SPEAKER_02

I don't understand artsy movies.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not I'm not sure how many I've seen.

SPEAKER_02

No. But I mean the director to this movie, Paul Thomas Anderson, he's one of those who makes like uh Oscars nominated movies. I think he's even Oscars nominated right now for a movie. And uh some movie. Yeah. And I've heard good things about that, and I'm kind of interested in watching that one, but I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

When is the Oscars?

SPEAKER_02

I think it's on Sunday. Oh. Yeah, so I I I'm sorry, but I I didn't enjoy this movie at all.

SPEAKER_05

Sorry, Adam Sandler.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you can do better than this movie. He's done better.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like all the other movies have been better.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, even the like stupidest movie ever made.

SPEAKER_05

This might be bottom.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, actually. And some people say that this is the best one.

SPEAKER_05

I'm sorry. I'm not going for it.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

Anything else?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

Can we stop talking about it now?

SPEAKER_02

I think so. Cool. This is history now.

SPEAKER_05

It's history. Yeah. We're gonna tell a history lesson about this someday.

SPEAKER_02

I'd rather not.

Oscars Chat And Hosting Hype

SPEAKER_05

Alright. That's not then. We're gonna take a break. Yeah. I decided.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, let's do that. We're gonna We need it.

SPEAKER_05

We're gonna go and we're going to recover and uh from this conversation. And then we'll come back later. A little bit later. Much later. Much later. We'll be we're gonna be gone for a while.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Stay tuned. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We'll be right back. Let's go live with the second part.

SPEAKER_05

We'll be right back. Yes. Bye. Bye. Hello. Hello. We're back. We are. Yeah, welcome back.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

Maybe.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe. Are you gonna watch?

SPEAKER_02

I want to.

SPEAKER_05

When does it air? Here.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's like in the middle of the night or something.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but like when? What time does it usually start?

SPEAKER_02

Maybe uh it starts with like the red carpet at 11 or something. Uh-huh. Okay. I'm excited that uh Conan and Brian is doing it this year again.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I like him. You know that. But uh he's funny. He's really funny. And uh Okay, what what what is that? You don't like him?

SPEAKER_06

I do.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

I'm still trying to think of what I see. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yep. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And then yeah. Okay. If you say so. Uh-huh. Yaw ha. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yaw haw.

SPEAKER_06

Yaw haw. Yaw yaw.

SPEAKER_05

Yaw yaw. Yaw yaw yaw. Mm. I have no idea what I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_02

Oscars.

Movie Quiz Rules And First Questions

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

We're gonna play a game.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Let's play a game.

SPEAKER_02

Let's play a game.

SPEAKER_05

Let's play the big movie quiz.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Sounds good.

SPEAKER_05

In which you get all the cards and I guess the answers. Okay. Okay, so we have comedy, Oscar winners, and action movies.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Uh we're not just gonna focus on Oscars or Oscar.

SPEAKER_05

I guess we can do that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

There's a hundred questions.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Let's go through them all.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, we have gone through a few of them.

SPEAKER_05

We've gone through a yeah, quite a few.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And I have to say that this is the the category I'm the least comfortable with of the three.

SPEAKER_07

Good, good, good.

SPEAKER_02

Cool if they had like the action movie awards.

SPEAKER_05

I don't think they've started that yet.

SPEAKER_02

No, they should. Then I would be glued to that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

You you're still thinking?

SPEAKER_05

I might be.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, you're you're gonna- I'm waiting for it to just hit me. You're not gonna let this go.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna put these down here.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. So I'm gonna take a card.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, pick a card.

SPEAKER_05

How many cards are we doing per person?

SPEAKER_02

Uh it's two questions a card, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yes. There's a hundred questions.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Should we do like ten?

SPEAKER_05

That means there's like fifty cards.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

How much do you want to edit?

SPEAKER_02

Not that much, but so like twenty. Twenty.

SPEAKER_05

Each.

SPEAKER_02

Twenty cards?

SPEAKER_05

That's most of them.

SPEAKER_02

Twenty cards?

SPEAKER_05

Twenty-five.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, that's half.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. You want to go through all of them? No. No. Okay. 10? You 10?

SPEAKER_02

10?

SPEAKER_05

That's 20 cards. Yeah. 20 40 questions. Yeah. Yeah. That's a fifth.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. 40 questions. Are there a hundred questions there?

SPEAKER_05

On this card. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Let's go with one card.

SPEAKER_05

Twenty. Okay. But there's only a hundred questions total. I don't know how it works. I'm gonna start with this one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Let's just see uh how far we go.

SPEAKER_02

Try try and see.

SPEAKER_05

When when it feels like this is enough, then we'll stop.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

Oscar Trivia Run And Wild Tangents

SPEAKER_05

So who knows how many we'll go for?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no one knows.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, first question. What was the first color film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture?

SPEAKER_02

First colour. I mean, it feels like uh I don't know if Wizard of Oz was I mean, like that's like 39. That's the first I can think of. Or could it be like um yeah, I I'm gonna go with that. I I I can't get a better Am I wrong?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay. Did you know this?

SPEAKER_05

Now I know it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah. Um so it's not Wizard of Oz.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's the next one.

SPEAKER_02

The next one?

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

Lethal Weapon.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

And uh he's a really bad guy in the color purple.

SPEAKER_05

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

I'm pretty sure. I haven't seen it.

SPEAKER_05

How is he a bad guy in the color purple?

SPEAKER_02

He's abusive.

SPEAKER_05

Oh. In a world where they don't have enough abusive people.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

He's like, I also want to do that.

SPEAKER_05

My turn. No, that's bad.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

To catch up.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_06

You are the list manager.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_02

True. You were working, right?

SPEAKER_05

I was working. Right. I was busy.

SPEAKER_02

And you did other things too, I guess.

SPEAKER_05

Like working.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yes, he was around. It's okay.

SPEAKER_05

I like him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's good. This movie though.

SPEAKER_05

Right. Which he's not in, I'm assuming. I just want to know who is in the movie.

SPEAKER_02

I don't even remember who's in the movie. I just remember the director.

SPEAKER_05

I've never heard of this movie. So what is it?

SPEAKER_02

The shape of water.

SPEAKER_05

What is the shape of water?

SPEAKER_02

It's uh about a girl who falls in love with a fishman. That's what I know about this movie.

SPEAKER_05

What are the benefits of a fish man?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I I'm uh I mean it it's not like a merman, like a mermaid uh uh. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So is it the opposite web?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think he has like a fish head and uh legs. I think he has legs and like uh webbing fingers and toes and hair. So he's like a duck. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Fish duck.

SPEAKER_02

Fish duckman.

SPEAKER_05

They should have called him. Fish duckman. Fish duck man. Alright, well that's cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

What's the next question?

SPEAKER_01

I was almost gonna read the answer.

SPEAKER_05

Um Yeah, let's start with the answer and we'll do this Jeopardy style.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah. It would be kind of fun though. In what year was an award for best foreign language film introduced?

SPEAKER_05

What year?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

2018.

SPEAKER_02

No, earlier.

SPEAKER_05

1997.

SPEAKER_02

Earlier.

SPEAKER_05

1940.

SPEAKER_02

Later.

SPEAKER_05

41.

SPEAKER_02

Later.

SPEAKER_05

65.

SPEAKER_02

Earlier.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

Fifty-six.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_05

Fifty-seven.

SPEAKER_02

There you go.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you. Very good. I know. It only took me a couple tries.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it didn't even take you a hundred tries.

SPEAKER_05

No. Alright.

SPEAKER_02

Right. I I would not have guessed that.

SPEAKER_05

Here's another 2018 question.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Which film won the 2018 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay? Original, original, original screenplay.

SPEAKER_02

Original.

SPEAKER_05

Oregano. Screenplay.

SPEAKER_02

Original.

SPEAKER_05

Original. The best oregano screenplay.

SPEAKER_03

Screamplay?

SPEAKER_05

Screamplay. This is the best one. Actually, it could be a screamplay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Do a screamplay. We should should do it like a theater thing with just a screaming.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

What is this movie? It's 2018.

SPEAKER_02

2018. Original Screamplay. Screamplay.

SPEAKER_05

That's the only hint you're getting.

SPEAKER_02

Um, let's see. 2018. Is it like wait? Okay, that's not that.

SPEAKER_05

So what came out in 2018?

SPEAKER_02

The shape of water.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but it's not that. The next one.

SPEAKER_02

Uh wait.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_02

No. Oh, I I got something.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Reel it in. Is it a fishman?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's a big one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's a fishman.

SPEAKER_02

Let's cook him.

SPEAKER_05

That's like part cannibalism?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, would that be cannibalism?

SPEAKER_05

I think so.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Okay. Let's not then.

SPEAKER_05

Partially at least.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Let's let's just eat the fish parts.

SPEAKER_05

It's like eating a horse, I think.

SPEAKER_02

But that's not cannibalism, unless it's another horse.

SPEAKER_05

It's like eating your pets.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah, you don't do that.

SPEAKER_05

You don't do that. No. No.

SPEAKER_02

No, you don't.

SPEAKER_05

You're not supposed to. No. That's mean.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, would you never eat a horse horse meat?

SPEAKER_05

I have gone this far without eating horse meat. Okay. And I'm doing pretty well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay, cool. Good to know.

SPEAKER_05

What about dogs? Have you eaten a cat before?

SPEAKER_02

I have never eaten a cat or dog. I think.

SPEAKER_05

Cat dog?

SPEAKER_02

Cat dog.

SPEAKER_05

Cat dog. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I remember that show.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

Childhood.

SPEAKER_05

It was okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It wasn't such a weird show. Yeah. We had the weirdest show.

SPEAKER_02

A lot of shows were weird back then.

SPEAKER_05

Cartoon Network was on drugs.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yes.

SPEAKER_05

Ridiculous. Anyway, 2018. What movies came out in 2018, other than The Shape of Water and Fish Man.

SPEAKER_05

It might be.

SPEAKER_02

No, because that must have been another year.

SPEAKER_05

What is it?

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

You're not gonna get this.

SPEAKER_02

No, I don't no, I'm not.

SPEAKER_05

No. Alright.

SPEAKER_02

You wanna give me a hint or give me a hint?

SPEAKER_05

I told you Scream play.

SPEAKER_02

Scream Oh, okay, so that's a hint.

SPEAKER_05

It I told you it was a hint. Oh from the beginning. That's the only hint I'm gonna give you.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. The Scream O'Water. No.

SPEAKER_05

I can't promise that it's a horror movie, but the title kind of makes it sound like a horror movie.

SPEAKER_02

Scream.

SPEAKER_05

I've never seen it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, no, I I'm not gonna get it.

SPEAKER_05

It's called Get Out. Get Out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay. It's uh it's a horror movie-ish. Yes. Ish. Alright.

SPEAKER_05

Next question.

SPEAKER_02

I I thought that Get Out was earlier, actually.

SPEAKER_05

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

So that's why 2018. Yeah, I thought it was 16 for some reason.

SPEAKER_05

When was the Academy Award ceremony interrupted by a streaker running across the stage?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I Do you remember this? I don't remember this, but I've heard this not uh that long ago. They were talking about it. Was it like 75?

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

Cool that you find that subject interesting.

SPEAKER_05

Like, oh, what's going on here? I like that. I felt like I was getting into someone else's business. Yeah. So I kept working. I put it down.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the the thing is, uh, when I first uh heard about it, I'm like, oh, this might be uh like a classic western movie.

SPEAKER_05

That's what it sounds like.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it wasn't.

SPEAKER_05

It's not.

SPEAKER_02

Not really. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

What's the next question though?

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

How many times did Bob Hope host the Academy Awards ceremony?

SPEAKER_02

Bob Hope. I guess it's uh several times since it's more than one. Yeah, that makes sense. I'm gonna go like seven.

SPEAKER_02

Not even close.

SPEAKER_05

More.

SPEAKER_02

Fourteen.

SPEAKER_05

Keep going.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Four years.

That was that.

SPEAKER_02

I guess the first years they were like, we can still keep this going, and then like, no, we can't.

SPEAKER_05

Not enough metal.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

More metal.

SPEAKER_02

With which film did Morgan Freeman win his first Academy Award?

SPEAKER_05

The penguin movie.

SPEAKER_02

No. No? No, actually not.

SPEAKER_05

When he narrated the penguins.

Yeah, you'd think.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

They said you didn't do good enough narration for that one.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

So you got get an Oscar for another movie instead.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Is it Mr. Glass?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

No. Wasn't that the movie? That was that was Sam Jackson. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. We're not saying you're a racist or anything.

SPEAKER_02

No. No, you're not.

SPEAKER_05

I've seen a movie with Morgan Priman before.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. He's a good actor.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but I don't know. The color purple?

SPEAKER_05

I've never seen that one.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

I don't think.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

What was the other question?

SPEAKER_02

Uh, which actress won her first Academy Award at the age age of 11 in 1993?

SPEAKER_05

Drew Barrymore.

SPEAKER_02

No. I I would never guess this one. So.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

No. Okay. Who was eleven in 93?

SPEAKER_02

Apparently this person.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. That was it. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the 93rd Academy Awards was held in which month instead of February?

SPEAKER_02

Um was it later? March maybe? Even later?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

April?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Wow. How quickly you uh forget things.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Well, what else was he in?

SPEAKER_02

This movie.

SPEAKER_05

That one. Uh the baseball movie. Was he in the baseball movie?

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_02

It feels like that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Have I seen this one?

SPEAKER_02

I don't think so. I haven't seen this one, but I know some things about it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. The Godfather.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_05

Okay.
