Birthday Cold Open And Chaos

SPEAKER_04

Don't ruin my birthday.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's not your birthday. No. Not for an hour and ten minutes or eleven minutes.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm celebrating today.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Because it's my birthday episode.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm celebrating now.

SPEAKER_05

Now.

SPEAKER_04

Now. And go.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, okay. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Lauren. Happy birthday to you.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

You're welcome.

SPEAKER_04

Would you like to open this up?

SPEAKER_05

We can open this up if you want to.

SPEAKER_04

I was asking if you wanted to.

SPEAKER_05

You're asking how or who? We should do one episode like that.

SPEAKER_02

Just like this.

SPEAKER_05

That's that's the last one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Huh?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I talk like a normal person and you do that.

SPEAKER_02

It's my birthday.

SPEAKER_05

Happy birthday.

SPEAKER_02

Number. Num num.

SPEAKER_05

Your hip is nom nom nom nom nom. Your hip.

SPEAKER_02

I can only laugh with my mouth closed. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

So your hip is nom nom.

SPEAKER_04

My name is numnom.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, numnom. Num num. No, your name is Semla. Yep.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

You're welcome.

SPEAKER_04

My name is Lauren.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Did you say hello and welcome to I did. Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_04

Didn't you hear me?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you did the ha ha ha ha.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Ah. Okay. Ah. And I'm Matthias.

SPEAKER_04

What?

SPEAKER_05

And I'm Matthias.

SPEAKER_04

And it's my birthday. No, it's not. Tomorrow's my birthday. Yeah. It's my birthday episode. So this is the uh podcast in which we talk about me. Yeah. And that's it. So if you joined this episode to listen thinking we would talk about someone else, you're wrong. No, that's not happening. Legally. We're not talking about Matias today, we're talking about me.

SPEAKER_05

Just you.

SPEAKER_04

Just me.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe.

SPEAKER_04

Oh.

SPEAKER_05

Well, it depends on uh on open eyes, I guess.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. We might talk about you today.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they kind of want to talk about me for some reason.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but I'm the main focus of today.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's my birthday. But it's not.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's not yet.

SPEAKER_04

Tomorrow's my birthday. Yes. I will be gone all weekend.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, you will.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna be on a boat.

SPEAKER_05

On a boat.

SPEAKER_04

Boat in a way.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

To another land. You're gonna row, row, row, my boat to Finland. And then back.

SPEAKER_05

Hi, Finland.

SPEAKER_04

And then just Oh, there it is. And then turn around and go back.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Touched it. Yep. Row row row. Row home again.

SPEAKER_04

I can say that I have been to Finland and I'm gonna come back.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Okay. How are you doing?

SPEAKER_05

I am doing well. Cool. Yeah, I'm good. How are you?

SPEAKER_04

I'm good. I I feel it in my throat a little bit, but I also felt that a couple days ago too.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

It feels like allergies, but it's like been hanging there.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Like nothing's really happening, but it's it's just hanging in the back of my throat. So if I'm making more noises than usual, which I mean, I don't know, I usually make a lot of noises anyway. Then that's why.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I'm okay right now. Yeah, okay, good. Until I have a really big sneeze and then everything's gonna explode. Everything. Like I turn into C4. Oh with that one sneeze. Oh brains everywhere.

SPEAKER_05

Oh. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

Weekly Highlights And Pollen Hill

SPEAKER_04

Tell me your highlights from the past week.

SPEAKER_05

What?

SPEAKER_04

You you don't want to say? Why don't you want to tell me?

SPEAKER_05

This episode is not about me.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, I'm gonna tell you about my highlights from the past week.

SPEAKER_05

Please do.

SPEAKER_04

I have been like dead.

SPEAKER_05

Oh no.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. What happened? I I don't know. I've been really tired and unmotivated to do anything. So I've been laying on the couch most of the time, playing on my phone. I don't know. I like know there's things to do, but I don't really want to. Also, I've been eating a lot. So my stomach's been hurting too.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But the kids did have their last day of school yesterday.

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And I went, and the reason why my throat is bothering me is because the church that the kids walked to on the last day of school is up on a hill. And on this hill, there is a tree. And this tree is like spitting puffballs at everyone.

SPEAKER_05

Ah, spitting.

SPEAKER_04

Spitting tree.

SPEAKER_05

Uh.

SPEAKER_04

With puffballs of pollen. And I don't respond great to pollen. So I'm like standing up there. I'm like, oh no. Oh no. This isn't gonna end very well for me.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

And I could already feel it while I was standing up there. I was like, um, yeah, my throat hurts a little bit. So I feel like tomorrow I'm not gonna be okay. I'm okay right now.

SPEAKER_05

You are. That's good.

SPEAKER_04

For now.

SPEAKER_05

You were wrong.

SPEAKER_04

I was wrong. But um I have a child in each uh I don't know, level of school. You've got like the elementary, the middle, and then the high school.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I've got one kid in each. So I had to sit up on that hill from pretty much eight in the morning to eleven thirty, twelve-ish. You know, three, four, five hours up on that hill. Uh just breathing in this pollen.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. But I guess that's what you get for being so slow with each kid, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I should have been faster.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Maybe. I don't know. Oh, I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I'm kidding.

SPEAKER_04

They were the ones who take forever to get out. So, yeah, it's not my fault. I tried, and then they had to like grow and stuff, and then take weeks just to get out.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, that was that was my week. That was it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

But yesterday I also went to work. Yeah. So you went with me.

SPEAKER_05

I followed you.

SPEAKER_04

You followed me to work.

SPEAKER_05

And then I went to to the cinemas.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And you watched a movie.

SPEAKER_05

I did. Disclosure day. The new Steven Spielberg movie. I liked it.

SPEAKER_04

Good. Are you also part alien now? Yeah, I think so. Did you learn their language while you watch a movie?

SPEAKER_05

Like that. That's weird. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You don't have to do that again. No.

SPEAKER_05

No, no one else understands it, so.

SPEAKER_04

No, I don't get it. So don't do it.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

Alright. And then today is Friday. And my life partner made me a cake.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

That we could have today because we're gonna be gone all weekend on a boat. Yeah. Like I said.

SPEAKER_05

So I also had the cake.

SPEAKER_04

You also had some of the cake. I like it a lot.

SPEAKER_05

It's peanut butter.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you don't like peanut butter.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not the biggest fan, but it was a good cake.

SPEAKER_04

At least you didn't say this is disgusting. I hate peanut butter.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

No. Okay. It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream on top. It was all homemade and then Reese's pieces on top.

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm. I bought them.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Found them at the store.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And I like the cake a lot.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I mean I like it too. Now I know what um to expect from peanut butter. First time I didn't, and that's why I got disappointed. Since I was expecting more uh, you know, sweets. I thought it would be sweeter, but it wasn't.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay. Maybe I'll bring you some peanut butter from the States.

SPEAKER_05

Is it sweet?

SPEAKER_04

Everything has sugar in it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah. Maybe. We'll see. That was today. That's what happened today.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Right?

SPEAKER_05

Cake was today.

SPEAKER_04

Cake was today. Oh, I uh had the intention of starting to pack for the boat trip today. Okay. And instead I didn't emptied out my entire closet, rearranged everything, rebuilt the entire system and the kids' closet, um, put everything back.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

And then I found the dress I was looking for.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. And you put the clothes back too?

SPEAKER_04

I put the dress back. Everything. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You never packed anything? No. No. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Cool. Yeah. No, I I I did take the dress out and I put it in the bag.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

But I thought that was kind of funny. It was like procrastination at its very, very best. But I mean, yeah, procrastination, but also uh kind of uh It's something that I've been meaning to do for a while now because my closet is a ginormous mess. I don't need the majority of the contents of my closet because I have a closet and a dresser and they're both overflowing. And I have one box that's outside of this dresser and closet of clothes that I actually wear. And everything else is just extra, just in case I want something different.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. When I'm thinking procrastination, I'm I'm thinking more like slacking.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah. That was the rest of my week. Yeah. Thinking about my closet needs to be done.

SPEAKER_05

That sounded way too productive to be procrastinating.

SPEAKER_04

It was yeah, yeah. It was a little bit of bold.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It was, but it wasn't. It was procrastination and productiveness.

SPEAKER_05

Productination.

SPEAKER_04

Productination. Ah. You came up with a word.

SPEAKER_05

We're good at this.

SPEAKER_04

And you're procrastinating by uh doing something productive at the same time. It's not exactly what you meant to do, but it was also something good. Yeah. Cool. Yeah. On a roll today. Yeah. It is Friday. It's June 12th, 2026. So tomorrow's my birthday. It is. I'm gonna be 33. You know what? My kids said that I was gonna turn 41.

SPEAKER_05

Why?

SPEAKER_04

Because everyone else is 40. Oh, okay. I must also be 40. You passed me. I guess so. I didn't mean to. But I I guess that's that's how it is.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I guess that's I wonder what women age. Sorry, sorry.

SPEAKER_04

I wonder what sick child would say if I asked him how old I'm turning.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I wonder what he would come up with. Wake him up. Yeah, I have to Sick Child, wake up. How old is mommy? Leave me alone. Forty-two. Stop that! Shut up. Go back to sleep. Um, right, we watched movies

Demolition Man Future Shock Review

SPEAKER_04

today.

SPEAKER_05

We did.

SPEAKER_04

Would you like to move on?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, let's move on.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah, I the movion.

SPEAKER_05

Movie on.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Today we watched two movies. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Like we didn't.

SPEAKER_04

Whoa.

SPEAKER_05

Somewhere fell.

SPEAKER_04

Right. On your side, we watched Destruction Man. No. Deformed Man. Dif Deforming Destruction Man.

SPEAKER_05

Demo.

SPEAKER_04

Demolition Man. Yes. It sounds like a wrestler. Is that a wrestler? Uh I don't know. Alright, well, we also watched on my side Demolition Man. Again. We watched the same movie twice, I think. No, it was The Ridiculous Six.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna tell you about Demolition Man. Yeah. Right. Right. Right. This is a movie with Stallone.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. He uh gets frozen in carbonite by Darth Vader for 36 years. And then they wake him up and they're like, beat up this bad guy. He's like, okay. But he's in the future now. It's 2036.

SPEAKER_05

32.

SPEAKER_04

Right. Yeah, that's what I meant. 32. 20 what? Wait, what?

SPEAKER_05

2032.

SPEAKER_04

2032. Right. That's that's what I meant. Um, and everything is different and definitely not what it used to be. No. At all whatsoever. And so he has to get used to that, kind of. I mean, he disregards everything and beats up the bad guys.

SPEAKER_05

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. That's it, pretty much, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Pretty much. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

What did you think about the movie?

SPEAKER_05

I think it's a what?

SPEAKER_02

No. I just I thought you were gonna say, I think it sucks.

SPEAKER_05

No. It's a great movie. I I love this one. It's um uh it's it's an action comedy. It's funny, it has action, it has Wesley Snipes as a as the bad guy, Sunderbullock, uh other people too. Jack Black.

SPEAKER_04

Jack Black was there for a good uh five seconds.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Total. And if you didn't know it was him or that he was in the movie, you would have missed him.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

There was so much that would have just missed.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. No, yeah, I I really like this one. It's a really good movie, in my opinion. What did you think about this movie?

SPEAKER_04

I did like this movie. It was good, it was interesting, and it was kind of funny. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Rob Schneider.

SPEAKER_04

Rob Schneider was there for also a good solid five seconds. Yeah. But I think he had lines, yeah. At least. Jack Black did not. He was a tiny little baby in the background.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Rob Schneider said, uh, we're police officers. We're not we're not trained for violence or something like that.

SPEAKER_04

That was funny. And uh they did have open eyes, pretty much, their own version, and uh self-driving cars, and there were a lot of things that were illegal.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Anything that's bad for you is illegal, yeah. Which is how it should be.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, swearing g gives you a ticket or allow yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That was funny. And you can't touch anyone. No. And enhance your calm.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Also, they mentioned an earthquake in 2010. Hey Google. Was there a big earthquake in 2010? Did you hear me? 2010 had two significant earthquakes. Haiti.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I was right. In January 12th, uh, a devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck near Porto Prince. Porto Prince. Porto Potty.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Causing massive destruction and an estimated 160,000 to over 220,000 fatalities. Also in Chile, Chile.

SPEAKER_05

Chile.

SPEAKER_04

February 27th, a massive magnitude 8.8 earthquake hit offshore near Mauli.

SPEAKER_02

Maul? Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Darthmall. Right next to Darthmall, triggering a widespread tsunami. It ranks as one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded. So Stallone's family died in one of those earthquakes.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but it sounded like it was uh in Los Angeles though.

SPEAKER_04

The Haiti is south of the states. Yeah. So it must have been affected somehow. But this movie released in 93. Yeah. But took place at first in 96. Yeah. And then 2032. Right.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. A lot happened in three years between 93 and 96. Everything was on fire and Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Um then even more happened uh af uh in uh 32.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I also like the the music style in in the future.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah. The oldies are just like uh jingles from commercials and advertisements, yeah. Which is really funny. And there was the Pizza

Taco Bell Dub And Movie Trivia

SPEAKER_04

Hut thing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Tell me about that.

SPEAKER_05

Uh okay, so in the States, um this movie uh they they had uh like um uh a fancy dinner at a Taco Bell.

SPEAKER_04

Very fancy.

SPEAKER_05

Very fancy. Because that was like the only franchise that survived. Uh but uh since uh it's not as known, uh Taco Bell is not as known outside the States, they changed it to Pizza Hut in like Europe and uh yeah, most of the places outside the States. So w when we had the that cut, because they said Pizza Hut, but if you read their lips, it said Taco Bell.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Did you notice that?

SPEAKER_04

I mean I didn't at first.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

But I thought you were just like laughing because oh Pizza Hut. Yeah. But then you told me that they were actually saying Taco Bell.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Then I was trying to see it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It goes fast though.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it does. Yeah, and uh I I feel like uh this is a movie I had some like information, you know, funny back uh background stories.

SPEAKER_04

I also like this movie. Sorry, I had to interrupt you because I just remembered something I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, please.

SPEAKER_04

Um I also like that we had the Schwarzenegger reference and Jackie Chan was in there too.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Just as a reference, he wasn't in the movie.

SPEAKER_05

No. Stallone wanted him as the bad guy. Yeah. Jackie didn't want to be a bad guy.

SPEAKER_04

And it would have been so funny because the actual bad guy was making fun of the Chinese people. Yeah. So if Jackie was doing that, that would have been so ironic, so funny.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah, I I it's a fun movie.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I liked a lot about it. It was good. Very action-y movie. Yeah. Lots of action in this one and explosions and stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So are we uh uh are we done? Yeah, with this one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we can go to the next one.

SPEAKER_05

Next

The Ridiculous Six Western Rundown

SPEAKER_05

one, and that's the ridiculous six. So in this movie, uh this uh well Adam Sandler is a white guy raised by Indians or uh Amindians. Yeah. Native Americans. Amindians.

SPEAKER_04

Native Amindians.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. So he um and he meets his father, who's uh a bank robber. Uh and um yeah, and then uh his father gets himself kidnapped, and now he uh wants to save his father. So and uh on the way he meets other people who turns out to be sons of the same father. So he meets his half brothers and yeah, total six or five of them. He's the sixth one. So yeah, there's six brothers brothers looking for his fat their father.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh it's a Western movie, by the way.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's uh it's a silly movie. Uh do you have more to add?

SPEAKER_04

Or sh uh Rob Schneider was in this movie too.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, he was and one of the brothers.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And Luke Wilson.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And is his name Hugo from Lost? Uh no.

SPEAKER_05

Uh No.

SPEAKER_04

What's his name?

SPEAKER_05

Uh his real name.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_05

Uh Hurley.

SPEAKER_04

Hurley. Yeah. Not Hugo. I don't know why I was thinking that. Name. Yeah. Hurley from Lost. Yes. And Terry Cruz. Right. Terry Cruz was also there. And Taylor Lautner. Yeah. Oh my god, he's so dumb. He just has to play the annoying one in Adam Sandler's movies. Yeah. I guess. Yeah. And Steve Buscemi was somewhere in this movie. And I saw David Spade.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. And John Totoro was the inventor of baseball.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god. I hate him. The character. I don't know the actor, but and oh brother. Oh my god, no. It's the same guy? Yeah. Oh my god. I don't recognize him in any of the movies. It's the same guy. Oh my god. Okay. There was someone else. Uh John Lovitz.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. He's there.

SPEAKER_04

He's there.

SPEAKER_05

Their father is played by Nick Nolte.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I don't know him.

SPEAKER_05

No, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Or I don't know the name.

SPEAKER_05

No, okay. No. No, I I I don't think we maybe we haven't watched any of his movies.

SPEAKER_04

And uh John Wilkes Booth was not who I thought it was. Okay. You you said his name, and I was like, oh no. Okay, never mind. Nope.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

No. So I was wrong about him too.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

What else? Who else was in this one? Or is that it?

SPEAKER_05

I feel like we're missing someone. Oh, Will Forte is Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I didn't recognize him either.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. And yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He's like another one of those people who like I I won't recognize him if no one says anything.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. I just don't remember his face ever.

SPEAKER_05

He also covered his eye, so Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

I hate that part. I hate the eyes.

SPEAKER_05

The eye part.

SPEAKER_04

The eyes are not good. No. It was so mean of the rest of the gang. Yeah. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Force him to, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Ugh.

SPEAKER_05

And then they all have their both eyes.

SPEAKER_04

That was mean. And they made him get rid of his good eye. Yeah. Anyway. How did I feel about this movie?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um, I'm gonna say generally I like him. Okay. It was kind of stupid, it was kind of cringy, and that the eyeball part, no, no. Blah. It was awful. The film is well made. I have to give that to him. Yeah. Um, it's it's a good piece of work. I generally like it. Do you like the movie? What do you think?

SPEAKER_05

I do. I think it's funny, but yeah, it's stupid.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But yeah, I mean uh I I I like the stupidest character. Yeah. Little Pete. It's so stupid.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And the whole donkey thing was just kind of dumb.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah, it's very childish at uh at certain parts, and uh yeah, it's very, very stupid. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But overall, yeah. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I'm not mad about it.

SPEAKER_04

Good. It was on my side. I guess I have to be okay with it. Yeah. Anything else?

SPEAKER_05

No. Maybe not. I I just feel like we missed someone, but uh it doesn't really matter.

SPEAKER_04

Nothing really matters.

SPEAKER_05

Nothing.

SPEAKER_04

Not to me.

SPEAKER_05

No. I don't get the reference.

SPEAKER_04

Because it's my birthday. It is. I decide. Would you like

Break Time And Cake Reset

SPEAKER_04

to take a break? Take a break?

SPEAKER_05

If you want to.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you. Yeah. That was nice.

SPEAKER_05

You decide.

SPEAKER_04

Let's watch a movie while we take a break.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

We will be back later.

SPEAKER_05

In an hour or so.

SPEAKER_04

In an hour or so. We'll be right back.

SPEAKER_05

Bye-bye.

SPEAKER_04

We're back.

SPEAKER_05

We are back.

SPEAKER_04

Hello.

SPEAKER_05

I I was wondering what what do we usually say?

SPEAKER_04

What's the wine?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. But yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I said it.

SPEAKER_05

You did. You saved it.

SPEAKER_04

I saved the day.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. Yes. Thank you. You're welcome.

SPEAKER_04

And now we eat cake.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Hungry.

SPEAKER_04

That's my favorite part of birthdays is cake.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Well, uh, the second half is a gift to me. So you run this. You run the show.

SPEAKER_05

Gift to you. I'm gonna give you a list. You're gonna wait for that.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I'm not hinting or anything.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

Making sure you didn't forget there was something behind you.

SPEAKER_05

That's not for you.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, it's for someone else. It's for you. Yeah. You wrapped a present for yourself. To be like, hey, look what I got for me. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_05

I think I might like it more than you actually. You might. Probably. Probably. Sorry.

SPEAKER_04

Oh well. Are you gonna take it home with you? Maybe. I don't get to keep it. No. Okay. I have enough. I guess. You don't?

SPEAKER_05

I'm kidding.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. What do you have for me?

Ten Facts About Lauren

SPEAKER_05

I do have a list for you.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I like those even more.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Cause I I'm supposed I'm supposed to make you a list, but you made open eyes uh make a list for me uh when it was my birthday. So now I told open eyes to do the same for you. What?

SPEAKER_04

Should I ask my open eyes to make your list?

SPEAKER_05

What?

SPEAKER_04

Should I ask my open eyes to make you a list?

SPEAKER_05

For you.

SPEAKER_04

About me. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's okay. I I I do have a list.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

But I don't know if it's a good one, but uh if you wanna make it because I can, you can and then you can compare and then take what you want. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I'll do that for you. To make your life easier. I'm sorry, I completely misread everything. What did uh you write?

SPEAKER_05

I uh wrote like a uh personal fact about Lauren or how personal I mean uh that's how I had to, because uh this is not uh it hasn't learned about you, so uh Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Make a list of ten facts about Lauren. Patience. Lauren. Right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I hope it doesn't say anything about like my personal life.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no. Is it that bad? And then the last one has to be the same as usual.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's true. I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_04

Don't forget about that, it's the most important part.

SPEAKER_05

That's true. Okay, I'm I'm gonna go with this one.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Lauren, it says uh last name too, but I'm not gonna say that.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Was born in 1993. That's true. And is originally from New Hampshire.

SPEAKER_04

That is also true.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I'm fact-checking.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Uh she moved to Sweden in 2014.

SPEAKER_04

Is that number two?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, number two.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

She moved to Sweden in 2014. And uh yeah, I don't wanna say where you live. So yeah. I live here. In Sweden. In this room. Yeah, you live here. Right here. Right here.

SPEAKER_04

This is where I live.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna go with uh number three. I'm gonna take number three from this one. She has at least one child. At least one. Yeah. In a 2025 episode, she discussed raising a child a first child young young. That's true. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And uh I was 18 when he was born.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. And another episode mentions a 14-year-old birthday.

SPEAKER_04

That is the same one.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I've had at least one child.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. That was number three.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Number four.

SPEAKER_04

This is so funny.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

People who can't see this, Matias is going back and forth between two phones, two different lists, trying to pick out the best points. It's very confused.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Number four.

SPEAKER_05

Number four. I um already talked about that.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, number five.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, number four.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

She is heavily interested in movies and participates in regular movie nights.

SPEAKER_04

That is true. I am forced.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Movie night discussions that are a core part of the podcast.

SPEAKER_04

That is a fact.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Oh, by the way, we I didn't know. She co-hosts a uh number five. Number five. She co-hosts a comedy podcast called Roasty Toasty Ghosty with her best friend Matias.

SPEAKER_04

Few people know that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Not even the people listening right now knew that.

SPEAKER_05

No. That was five. Yes. Okay, number uh six. Mm-hmm. She has a sister named Heather. That's true. Who appeared as a guest on the show.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. At least twice.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

She's also our one and only fan of the podcast.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

The only participant of the podcast. And uh whenever we went live, she was always there. Yeah. Except for those times when she wasn't. No. And I never forgave her for that.

SPEAKER_05

Though we had some problems because we had lots of problems. Yeah. We had no one else. Yes. We have no one else, so yeah.

SPEAKER_04

This is a sad podcast.

SPEAKER_05

It is. Was that number six? I think so. Number seven. Lauren has ADHD.

SPEAKER_04

Lauren has 80 cats.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. ADHD and does best with routines, schedules, and clear plans. That's true. That's what I do.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, speaking of, I didn't even mention that the the program that

Film School Yes And Life Logistics

SPEAKER_04

I applied for, the film program. Yeah. I got accepted. Yeah. And I I I said yes, I want to be a part of this. And so I'm gonna do that in August.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna go to film school, guys. I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_05

Very cool. Yeah, you you were hesitant about it.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah. Well, I mean, it's a huge commitment. It is. I mean, it's not nearby. It's in Stockholm. It's like two hours away. Yeah. So that's four hours of travel on the days that I have to be there. And then I have kids and gymnastics as well. So I don't know how it's gonna work out, but it's gonna work out.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah. That's all.

SPEAKER_04

We're adapting. My life partner said, just do it and I'll take care of the rest.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Because he's like, I don't know, amazing, I guess.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. He's a good dude.

SPEAKER_04

He's a good dude. He's a good guy. Yeah. He's one of the good guys. He won't admit it. If you ask him, he'll be like, no, I'm a bad guy. I hate everything. Yeah. But he's a good guy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Number eight.

SPEAKER_05

That was number eight, right?

SPEAKER_04

I thought it was seven.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Then number two. Let's read both the lists. Number eight. She uh Lauren has been involved with gymnastics either personally or through family activities. One of the two. Yeah. And has discussed gymnastics, competitions, training, and related experiences on the podcasts.

SPEAKER_04

And it was very boring. I didn't like any of it.

SPEAKER_05

You didn't like that at all?

SPEAKER_04

I hated that episode. That was my least favorite so far. Maybe because I bored myself talking about it.

SPEAKER_05

And you edited the entire that entire podcast.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't like any of it.

SPEAKER_05

No. You didn't want me to Well, I had other things to do.

SPEAKER_04

I was being nice. Yeah, you were. I was being nice. Yeah. For once. And then this weekend you're gonna edit the entire episode.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, let's uh let's wrap this up. Speed this up a little. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_04

I I can do that. Unless I find time first thing in the morning. No, I I'll do it. I can do it. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

Umber nine. Number nine. She has talked about health-related topics from her own life, including eye exams.

SPEAKER_00

Ew.

SPEAKER_05

Uh glasses, physical therapy, doctor appointments, hair changes, and fitness activities.

SPEAKER_04

Hair changes like I had a hair transplant. I've spent a lot of time in hospitals, but that was not part of it.

SPEAKER_05

Hair hospital.

SPEAKER_04

I did not go to a hair hospital. I went to a hair salon. Okay, sure. If I say I got my hair fixed, that doesn't mean by a doctor. It means by For free. For free. Uh I went to a hairdresser for that. Not the doctors. No. Not the hair doctors. No. I could call them hair doctors, but I don't think they went to medical school to learn how to cut hair or color.

SPEAKER_05

We need to amputate this hair.

SPEAKER_04

All these down here, these need to be amputated. Do you want anything amputated from up here? You want to trim? I mean, like, what if they talked about arms like that? It's like, where do you want us to cut?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Where would you rather? Like up here? You want a little bit shorter? A little bit, you want it longer? You like it here?

SPEAKER_05

Maybe. Who knows? I can take that. Thank you. Because I have one more. I'm gonna improvise this.

SPEAKER_04

You're just coming up with this on the spot.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. The last fact is that you're my bestie.

SPEAKER_04

Yay!

SPEAKER_05

Yay! Never said that before.

SPEAKER_04

No. We've never talked about this.

SPEAKER_05

No. Breaking news.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know how I feel about this, you know, reaching the public and stuff. Yeah. I mean, I wish you would have discussed this with me first.

SPEAKER_05

No. Disclosure day.

SPEAKER_04

That's today. Are you an alien? Yeah. Okay. Oh, yeah, by the way, happy birthday. Oh, thank you.

SPEAKER_05

Because it's your birthday.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, it's ten minutes into my birthday. It is? It's officially my birthday.

SPEAKER_05

Awesome.

SPEAKER_04

Except I was born at like 4 45 in the afternoon.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, we we have a few hours to wait.

SPEAKER_04

33 years ago, I think my mom was in labor.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah. I I have a bonus one. I I just thought it it's so weirdly put.

SPEAKER_04

Summer bonus.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. This one.

SPEAKER_04

Well you just tell me.

SPEAKER_05

Bonus one. Yeah. Shut up now. She moved countries at some point in her life and discussed how support systems affected that experience.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, I moved the countries myself.

SPEAKER_05

You rearranged the I did.

SPEAKER_04

I I thought this looks like a really fun puzzle. So I moved countries around and I did have a support system. Said yes, do that. Do that. It looks good. Yeah. It looks like that piece goes there. Good job. Thank you. I did. I moved from the United States to Sweden.

SPEAKER_05

You did. Was it a good move? Are you happy about that move? Today. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

I am happy. Uh tomorrow. I might have a different opinion.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I might move to Finland.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna move Finland. Yeah. With my rowboat.

SPEAKER_05

Rowboat. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna run into Finland and it's gonna move like a centimeter.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. And you're gonna move back.

SPEAKER_04

And then bump into it again.

SPEAKER_05

Keep going. You're gonna separate Finland and Sweden.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You're gonna go back and forth.

SPEAKER_04

Connected to Russia.

SPEAKER_05

Finland. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I'm gonna uh I'm gonna save Finland by pushing them away from Russia.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so you're gonna move Finland closer to Sweden.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I want them to be attached. No, I can't have that because then where am I gonna take my boat to?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I have to rethink everything.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

I had everything planned out. Oh well.

SPEAKER_05

I'm sorry for ruining your plans.

SPEAKER_04

You ruined my life.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Good. Then you have an answer for that one.

SPEAKER_04

Good.

SPEAKER_05

Um now, since it's your birthday.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I thought we were wrapping it up.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, it is my birthday now.

SPEAKER_05

It is your birthday.

SPEAKER_04

You've been waiting all this time for it to be my birthday. Yeah. And now it's my birthday.

SPEAKER_05

Now it's your birthday. And I was the one the first one who said happy birthday on your birthday.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you. So happy birthday. And the first one to give me a present on my birthday.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Probably the only one.

Birthday Gift Unwrap And Movie Shelf

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That's fine. I'm gonna open my present now.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

No, there's no opening point.

SPEAKER_05

No opening point. It's not supposed to be open.

SPEAKER_04

It's not supposed to be open. That's the thing. The present wasn't meant to be open. I worked so hard on that. Why are you ripping it apart? I'm trying not to. I like to be clean with my present opening. I don't want to rip the paper. I want it to be whole when I'm done. Or mostly whole. I'm not doing a great job. But you didn't make this easy for me either.

SPEAKER_05

No. You know I taped the item as well.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, well, I'm gonna rip it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Got it.

SPEAKER_05

Yay.

SPEAKER_04

It's a movie. It's upside down. It's a double pack. It's a I'm looking at the back. Gorgeous. Gorgeous.

SPEAKER_05

Gorgeous.

SPEAKER_04

Gorgeous. And who am I?

SPEAKER_05

You know.

SPEAKER_04

Do I have that one?

SPEAKER_05

You have that one on Blu-ray. But it didn't have subtitles.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no.

SPEAKER_05

Now you do have subtitles.

SPEAKER_04

Yay. On DVD though, but uh Okay, now we have a problem though. Because when you put this on my shelf, which one are you gonna go with?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Probably gorgeous.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's the first one, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And who am I?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yay! Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

You're welcome. I wish I had more, but uh I don't.

SPEAKER_04

No. I'm still missing all the Rocky movies.

SPEAKER_05

You. You do. You.

SPEAKER_04

You it's not my fault, is it? You know. It's not me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you do, but um.

SPEAKER_04

Oh well.

SPEAKER_05

Oh well.

SPEAKER_04

Now it.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Is that it?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. What what do you wanna

Turning 33 Motivation And Weight Talk

SPEAKER_05

do?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

You wanna tell something about yourself? How does it feel being 33 now that you're 33?

SPEAKER_04

Now that I'm finally there. I feel pretty good. Yeah, I feel like 33 is easier to remember than 32.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

31 was like really hard.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. But I don't usually think of these things. No. So anytime someone asks me how old I am, I have to like think about it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I I get it. But you know, 35 is pretty good. Because then it's like in the middle.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. That's a good one to remember.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I feel like next year I'm gonna struggle a bit, but then the year after that I'll I'll be able to remember 35.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I think I probably have to wait five more years until I'm 40. And I'm like, yeah, I'm 40.

SPEAKER_04

I'm 40 now. Oh my god, I'm 40 in five years. Stop it. That's not cool.

SPEAKER_05

No, that's not okay.

SPEAKER_04

Well, that's five years from now.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So you can worry about it then.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_04

Right now, you don't have to worry about it.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

You can think about it later. Not now.

SPEAKER_05

Later problem.

SPEAKER_04

That is a later problem. But no, things feel pretty good right now. I don't think anything is really ruining my life.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_05

You wanna talk about that right now?

SPEAKER_04

Uh yeah. Because I feel like we're reaching the end of the episode.

SPEAKER_05

I guess so.

SPEAKER_04

Do you have anything ruining your life?

SPEAKER_05

I guess it's uh the fact that I was doing so good with my weight loss. But now I'm I'm up a bit again.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Well so am I. Uh this week has been iffy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's been so weird. But now I'm thinking like it's my birthday and it's like birthday weekend.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm gonna That's when you can let yourself go.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna do what I want and then on Monday I'll do better.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I just have to figure out how to re-motivate myself to like do anything. Because I don't really have like school or I mean I haven't worked. I I worked yesterday, but that's not what I mean. But I I haven't I don't have much of a routine and that makes me lay on the couch and do nothing. So I need to start making lists of things to do.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I'll do that on Monday.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Procrastination.

SPEAKER_04

Yay. And then I'll spend the whole day writing out a list and then not doing any of it until Tuesday.

SPEAKER_05

Sounds good.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I guess that's kind of ruining my life. It's my lack of motivation to do anything.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I mean, we'll we'll get back to it on Monday. Yeah. When it that's usually the official day to start anything.

SPEAKER_05

We'll be back.

SPEAKER_04

We'll be back on Monday.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Would you like to wrap this up?

SPEAKER_05

Let's wrap this up.

SPEAKER_04

Because I'm all out of sips.

SPEAKER_05

Are you?

SPEAKER_04

I am.

SPEAKER_05

So am I.

SPEAKER_04

Alright.

SPEAKER_05

And that means we're all out of episode.

SPEAKER_04

So we're gonna wrap this up?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And I'm gonna celebrate my birthday somewhere else.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_04

I might side-eye you a little bit, like it's not my birthday, but it's okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Couldn't you remember my actual birthday? Right.

SPEAKER_04

Whatever.

SPEAKER_05

Oh well.
