Roasty Toasty Ghosty
Roasty Toasty Ghosty — The comedy class no one asked for, and everyone needs.

Support the show & get subscriber-only content.“Go do the thing” sounds simple until your brain starts free-associating, your coworkers start spiraling, and someone says you should never settle for less than Optimus Prime. We kick off with that exact energy, then flash back to a workplace meeting where a frustrated rant turns into a painfully funny moment: it’s half understandable, everyone is trying to keep it together, and laughter turns into the kind of crying-laughing that confuses the whole room.
From there, we ride the chaos straight into language and sound. We talk about nicknames that stick the second you start working with someone, why misheard lyrics can live in your head for years, and the tiny difference between “trouble” and “treble” that suddenly opens up a whole explanation of treble clef and bass clef. If you love conversational comedy, improvisational banter, and those accidental learning moments that happen mid-joke, you’ll feel right at home.
Then the episode quietly turns into a very real story about procrastination and distraction. Packing doesn’t happen, ice cream happens at the wrong time, naps happen at the worst time, and suddenly we’re negotiating bedtime and a morning train like it’s a high-stakes mission. If you’ve ever said “I’m gonna” and then immediately did something else, you’ll recognize the pattern.
Listen, laugh, and share it with the friend who always gets distracted mid-task, then subscribe and leave a review so more people can find the show. What’s the smallest thing that completely derails your plans?

SPEAKER_03This might be a little mean, but I think I always thought it was kind of funny at the um the meetings that we would have for Bucket.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, when people like him will get all upset about something and then try their very best to express why they're upset and just it's hardly understandable.
SPEAKER_01Were you there when uh when our friend uh Linda and Muslum when they lost it?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Because that was like at the end of the uh old buildings, you know. Like the maybe one of the last uh meetings we had. Yeah. And he was upset and uh tried you know talking his mind. And uh then it's like half understandable. Then Muslim started laughing and Linda just could not stop after that. And she yeah, they both of them.
SPEAKER_03I might have been there, I don't remember.
SPEAKER_01No, okay. And you know, uh afterwards the people um you know having the meeting, they were like, Linda, were you laughing or were you crying? Because when she laughs she starts crying, yeah, and it kind of looks like she's crying too sometimes when she laughs really.
SPEAKER_03Are you okay? Yeah. That's funny. Oh yeah this whole time? Yeah he's always done this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he he hasn't really had a reason to say my name before, but now when we started working together, you know, in Book Wexton and everything, he uh he calls me Mutz.

SPEAKER_03Why?
SPEAKER_01There was some bass in that.

SPEAKER_01What's treble even?
SPEAKER_03Treble is a treble clef. You know the squiggly thing at the beginning of the notes?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's it.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03It shows that it's like the regular ones, and then you've got the big backward C. That's the bass line.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03So you've got the treble line and baseline.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because I uh uh heard um trouble, but I never knew what it was.
SPEAKER_03That's what it is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um uh think. Adjective? No, yeah, okay. I I was thinking verbs.
SPEAKER_03You need to think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
