• Cold open jokes about hiding problems and pretending it never happened
• Weekly recap with bowling, candy-store temptation, buying a TV, mini golf, an amusement park, and horse volunteering
• Thoughts on The Bachelor Party as a stupid-funny Tom Hanks comedy with standout bits and peak raunch
• Thoughts on Sandy Wexler with cameos everywhere, Jennifer Hudson, and Weird Al as the highlight
• Interactive bedtime story with a tiny door, a fox guide, and a cloud bakery full of dreamy desserts
• “Recipe for a perfect night” built from a safe place, a person to share it with, and a feeling to carry home
• Favorite movies from 1993 and why Jurassic Park still wins
• What’s currently ruining our lives: feeling fat, not eating well, procrastination, and laziness

Cold Open Hole Cover-Up Comedy

SPEAKER_01

Here's the fun intro, Cracky Tenny. Here we go. No one knows what we'll even know. Started with the movie plot. Now it's time where we are not done.

SPEAKER_05

I have filled holes before.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not gonna say it turned out great, but I did fill a hole.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, it is what it is, I guess.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. Uh the goal is to uh pretend there isn't a hole. Yeah. Make it look like there isn't a hole, even if there is a hole there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You have to hide the hole.

SPEAKER_05

Hide the hole. That's right. Yeah. We're all just gonna pretend that there never was a hole there.

SPEAKER_00

To begin with.

SPEAKER_05

Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. So if someone came in and asked, was there ever a hole there? Be like, nope. Does it look like there was ever a hole there? And be like, I don't know. It kinda no, no, no, no. There was never ever ever a hole right there.

SPEAKER_00

No, exactly.

SPEAKER_05

Because there wasn't.

SPEAKER_00

No. It's not like I covered it or anything.

SPEAKER_05

No. I didn't fill it up and then cover it up with tape and paint. No.

SPEAKER_00

No. A sticker.

SPEAKER_05

And stickers and more tape and paint. And extending foam, you know, like the the you spray it in and it expands. I didn't use any of that.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. But you know it exists.

SPEAKER_05

Empty the can into the entire okay.

SPEAKER_00

You didn't.

SPEAKER_05

No. Why would I do that? That is ridiculous because that is uh putting a band-aid over a problem.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, that would be like covering a hole or something.

SPEAKER_05

Exactly. Yeah. And why would you do that? Because there was never a hole.

SPEAKER_00

No, exactly.

SPEAKER_05

There's no point in filling a hole that isn't there.

SPEAKER_00

True.

SPEAKER_05

Why would I need this spray foam ever because there's no hole?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

You wasted your money. Why would you say?

SPEAKER_00

Was that what you said at the store? You're like, I don't have a hole to fill or anything, but uh I'm gonna I'm taking this anyway. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Don't ask me why.

SPEAKER_00

It's for a friend.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you Americans, you like to stick your nose in my business. Why are you buying this? You know what? Personal reasons. I have a hole to be filled. And I'm gonna book a room at the hospital in advance. Oh my god. Anyway.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Good times. Good times.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Enough talk about your states trip.

SPEAKER_05

Right, exactly. Because this didn't happen. I'm just gonna drink water for the rest of the hour.

Water-Only Promises And Candy Reality

SPEAKER_05

Your life. My life. I really should. For the rest of my life. I'm just gonna drink water. That's it. That's the only thing I'm gonna consume. How many times have I said that? I'm never eating ever again. For the next three weeks, I really should just drink water. And then I go to the candy store and like fill it halfway.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't dared looking at the scales today. No way.

SPEAKER_05

Nope, nope, nope, nope. I was good and then I was not good. Uh okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Well that was that.

SPEAKER_04

We all had fun.

SPEAKER_00

So you're all out of episodes. So that means we're all out of pre-pre-talk.

SPEAKER_05

Episodes.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_05

What number are we at, Matias? Take a wild guess. What do you think? Where are we?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, 193.

SPEAKER_05

Ooh, that's my birthday. I don't know what I don't know which one it is. Let's look. Let's not look.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Let's guess that it's 193. Yeah. Because no one actually knows. So I don't know if I'll ever see you again. So I might die tomorrow in a plane crash.

SPEAKER_00

You're you're going by plane?

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, did you say train crash?

SPEAKER_05

No, I said plane. A plane could crash into the train. Oh yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Anything is possible. And we might still be alive. But not really. You'll find out in the end that I died.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Oh.

SPEAKER_05

Because I'm gonna find a friend who s sees dead people, but I don't realize that I'm dead.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. You're mixing all the Bruce Willis movies now, aren't you?

SPEAKER_05

Am I mixing them? Because it seems like it's the same one.

SPEAKER_00

It's the sixth unbreakable.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Unbreakable sixth.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's my movie. How did he die? Oh, he was murdered, wasn't he? He was shot in Sixth Sense?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. He was shot in the beginning of the movie.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah. Huh.

SPEAKER_00

And uh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Unbreakable, he was still alive, but he was invincible.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I was pretty sure I had the movie right.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Well, both are directed by M. Night Shamalin.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so like it could have been the same movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, let's let's do

Episode Number Guessing And Doom Jokes

SPEAKER_05

this. Let's start.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Have you been impatiently waiting this whole time?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Ugh, fine.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I'm gonna open this up. That's okay. That's what I'm doing. Did

Welcome To Roasty Toasty Ghosty

SPEAKER_05

it. Hello. Hello.

SPEAKER_02

Hello.

SPEAKER_05

And welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Lauren.

SPEAKER_00

And I am Matias.

SPEAKER_05

And this is the podcast in which you will learn nothing at all. That's it.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. We're not gonna have fun today. We're gonna be very educational.

SPEAKER_05

But you won't learn anything.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_05

You'll probably zone out as we tell you things. And before you know it, it'll be over and you will think, What what just happened?

SPEAKER_00

Was it all a dream?

SPEAKER_05

I I heard it, but I wasn't listening.

SPEAKER_00

No. We're gonna have more of a night story.

SPEAKER_05

Are we telling good night stories?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we can do that.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. We can do that later.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh how are you doing?

SPEAKER_00

I'm good. Good. How are you?

SPEAKER_05

I'm good.

SPEAKER_00

Good.

SPEAKER_05

The end.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

Week Recap Bowling TV And Horses

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna tell you about whatever I did last week.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

I saw you last on Friday.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It was Friday.

SPEAKER_00

It was Friday.

SPEAKER_05

And I know that I went bowling yesterday with uh my family. And we went to the candy store and I bought a TV.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. So that's pretty cool. The day before that I went to your place and we had Vika.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Because your kne had a birthday.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Birthday niece.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Saturday my sister had a birthday.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I had a party, or we had a party.

SPEAKER_04

You had a party for yourself.

SPEAKER_00

No. You weren't there, but uh I wasn't invited. No.

SPEAKER_04

No one asked.

SPEAKER_00

No. But yeah, we had a party. It was a party. Okay. And then on Sunday I just did some editing. Both podcast and video editing. Then Monday I went to a nearby city to play mini golf with my sister and my niece and her boyfriend. Then on Tuesday, like you said, my niece had a birthday.

SPEAKER_05

Happy birthday, niece.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. So we were there for that. You were there too. Yep. With your youngest.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. It was nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

We had Vika.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of Vika.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then yesterday, me, my niece, her dad, and uh his life partner, and also my niece's boyfriend went to Groenalund.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The amusement park. Amusement park.

SPEAKER_05

Did you see a concert?

SPEAKER_00

No. No, we weren't there for that long.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

They just wanted to leave. They're like, uh, we're done here. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Basically.

SPEAKER_00

I thought we were would be there there longer.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. But like we usually are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And but no, they they wanted to go to Mall of Scandinavia instead. So we went there. Yeah. Then we went to Max.

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm. Did you go to Max there?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That's fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

My daughter is helping out with a horse now. She is working, volunteer working really, with a horse to have more horse experience. We have spent the week pretty much getting to know the horse.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

It was fun.

SPEAKER_00

Cool.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You're going there today as well.

SPEAKER_05

I am going there after this. Anything else?

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't think so.

SPEAKER_05

That was basically the week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_05

I think. And today is Thursday.

SPEAKER_00

Thursday.

SPEAKER_05

It is July.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, still. 30th.

SPEAKER_05

The 30th.

SPEAKER_00

Happy birthday, Arnold.

SPEAKER_05

Right. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a birthday today.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And uh we watched movies.

SPEAKER_00

We did.

SPEAKER_05

Not with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

SPEAKER_00

No, we already finished all

Movie Night Tom Hanks Bachelor Party

SPEAKER_00

those.

SPEAKER_05

We watched um The Bachelor Party.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And the other one. I didn't see the title.

SPEAKER_00

It was the character's name.

SPEAKER_05

Sandy.

SPEAKER_00

Sandy Wexler.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Yeah. We saw those.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

And uh we started with The Bachelor Party. It's a movie with Tom Hanks.

SPEAKER_00

Not Tom Cruise.

SPEAKER_05

I still want to call him Tom Cruise. I don't know why. But it was Tom Hanks, and he's getting married and he has a bachelor party.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And that's what happened.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Pretty much explains itself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And one of the guys in the bachelor party looked like a Jonas brother.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. The guy from uh Greece too.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. He could have been a Jonas brother. An old one.

SPEAKER_00

I'm I'm thinking maybe he he's their father.

SPEAKER_05

He might be.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

In secret. But it's not that secret anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we figure it out. Yep. Or you did.

SPEAKER_05

I did it.

SPEAKER_00

We should be detectives.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. Let's do that.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. What did you think about the movie?

SPEAKER_00

I think it's really funny. It's really stupid.

SPEAKER_05

It's right up your alley.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's really stupid. It's really funny.

SPEAKER_05

And everyone is naked.

SPEAKER_00

It's probably Tom Hanks' stupidest movie, I would say.

SPEAKER_05

I liked his character.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

He was he was funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he was very like sarcastic and uh all over the place.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I loved it. I I liked the scene when he was making dinner. Yeah. That was the best part.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but yes, I I really liked this movie. I I think first time I saw it, I was laughing my head off. It's one of those I started crying laughing.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that's not good.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it is good.

SPEAKER_05

It's good, but you shouldn't be crying. No. That's sad. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So what did you think about this movie?

SPEAKER_05

I also enjoyed it a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Good.

SPEAKER_05

There were a lot of naked people though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's a raunchy comedy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I I thought it was kind of funny how um the porno they were watching was sabotaged to skip all the good parts.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That was good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I like that. I I just really liked his character. Yeah. He was funny and everywhere, and it was good.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I have more to add. It feels like I do, but I I can't really think of what I'm trying to say.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Next movie.

Adam Sandler Chaos In Sandy Wexler

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Sandy Wexler. This is a movie with Adam Sandler and everyone else in the world.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And like everyone else, basically from his movies.

SPEAKER_05

SNL and everything.

SPEAKER_00

Like all comedians ever. It feels like pretty much. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Even Weird Ell was in this movie. Yeah. And that was the best part.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Have you seen this? No.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so it was a surprise for you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Or have you ever already seen like clips?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I have seen some clips, but not Weird El.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. No. That's good. Yeah. Yeah. It was. I haven't seen this either. I haven't seen any of the movies we watched today.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So it was it was a really nice surprise.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

What was the movie about?

SPEAKER_00

The movie is about a manager. Talent scouts. Kinda. And he's helping this girl who's played by Jennifer Hudson.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't know that. No. In Dream Girls.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, Dream Girls.

SPEAKER_00

This one kind of caught me by surprise because I really liked it. It was funny. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. So I I did like it. What did you think?

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I liked the movie. It was really funny. It was it was really good. Especially with everyone, everyone ever being in this movie. Yeah. And Adam's character was just the stupid character. Yeah. One of his stupid ones. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, he had that annoying voice that I usually don't like.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, from like Waterboy. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But it was okay.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, it was funny when he was like pretty much laughing throughout the entire movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

At like the smallest things he would laugh at. Yeah. It was the stupid laugh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, his weird fake laugh. But yeah, I I did enjoy this one. And like you said, Weird Al was the best part.

SPEAKER_05

That makes it watchable. Yeah. Yeah. Worth it.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I mean, when it starts out with Lauren Michaels being there. Yeah. That's then you you know. Yeah. You can manage to get him on the set. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm like, oh, Conan O'Brien is there too. And I yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's like, oh, that guy and that guy and that guy and Rob Schneider.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_05

As a foreign guy. Again. Yeah. As always.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It was a good movie.

SPEAKER_00

It was. I did enjoy it. It was fun. So yeah, that was that.

SPEAKER_05

I guess so. Because I'm not gonna sit here and list off everyone. Or I'm not no, I said I'm not going to, and I'm not going back on that.

SPEAKER_00

So you're expecting me to do that.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_05

We we are not going to do that because it's gonna take too long. So instead, maybe we should take a break.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we can do that.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, we will be right back.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

Interactive Bedtime Story Begins

SPEAKER_00

Hello. Hello, and we're back.

SPEAKER_05

We're back. And I guess I'm gonna read a bedtime story.

SPEAKER_00

I guess so.

SPEAKER_05

That's what you wanted. That's what I will do.

SPEAKER_00

If you want to, I don't know what else to do.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Actually, you know what? I I want to give it a twist.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Let's have an interactive bedtime story. Yeah. Alright. So this one is called like we just did a mad libs or something. The door beneath the moon.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Let's just see what happens here. Yeah. Writing an adventure, I think. Maybe. Okay. I don't know how to put this. Because it's it's kind of like this is a story about you. This is what you're doing. Okay?

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Like I'm explaining a movie or something. Okay. So imagine this. You pull your blanket a little higher, just as your room becomes perfectly quiet. Click. Not from the window, not from the hallway, from underneath your bed. You peek over the edge. Instead of dust bunnies, there's a tiny round wooden door, no bigger than a dinner plate. A silver key hangs from its handle.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

A note is pinned to the door. I'm not. It reads, Dear Night Explorer. Explore road.

SPEAKER_00

Explorer.

SPEAKER_05

Explore road. Okay. If you open this door, you may visit exactly one magical place before sunrise. Please return before the first bird sings. P.S. Try not to wake the snoring moss. Moss snores, I guess. What moss. Moss. Moss. Moss. Moss. Like moss. Like mossah. Yeah. Okay. I was gonna say mossa, but that's not right. No, that that's a hat.

SPEAKER_00

Moss. Yeah. That's on rocks and stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh you unlock the door. Warm golden light spills out, carrying the smell of cinnamon, rain, and fresh pages from an old library. I can't say that's very attractive. But anyway, a tiny fox wearing a backpack bows politely. Right on time, the fox says. We have three destinations tonight. He unfolds a tiny map. One, the whispering forest. The trees remember every twerk twerk twerk twerk ever told. Story was the word. The trees remember every time you twerked.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Everyone that twerked in this in the forest.

SPEAKER_05

The twerking forest. They know your secrets. Uh number two, the cloud bakery. The bakers make edible moonlight, starlight cookies, and cocoa clouds. Okay. Number three, the pocket galaxy. A whole universe small enough to fit inside a marble, but somehow big enough to explore forever. The fox smiles. Choose carefully. Every place has its own adventure. Where shall we go?

SPEAKER_00

Is it up to me?

SPEAKER_05

That's up to you.

SPEAKER_00

I like the clouds.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, we're going to the cloud bakery.

The Cloud Bakery And Peach Moon Tart

SPEAKER_05

Chapter 2. The Cloud Bakery. The tiny fox grins. A delicious choice. Of course he would go there. Yeah. He snaps his finger. Fingers.

SPEAKER_03

He breaks his finger. He broke his finger. That wasn't necessary.

SPEAKER_00

I guess he likes the pain.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, the difference is a single letter makes. Okay. He snaps his fingers several of them.

SPEAKER_00

He breaks his entire hand.

SPEAKER_03

I don't want to.

SPEAKER_00

He keeps going. Started with one face.

SPEAKER_05

Breaks every suddenly becomes very violent with his fingers. His self-hatred is just pouring out. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Break every bone in his body.

SPEAKER_05

Fingers in his arms. Shoulders ribs.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Holy moly, I am crying.

SPEAKER_03

I cannot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this poor fox must have a tough life. Take him to the bed.

SPEAKER_05

Hospital. Oh my goodness. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Take him out of his misery.

SPEAKER_05

Just kill him off. The poor thing. He's not well. Okay, okay, okay, okay. I have to continue this.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. Oh yeah, the story.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. The floor becomes a puppy cloud that lifts both of you gently into the sky. Houses shrink into toy blocks below. Rivers become silver ribbons. And the and the stars seem close enough to tickle. Tickle stars.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Snapping fox and tickle stars.

SPEAKER_05

Tickle stars.

SPEAKER_00

Tickling stars.

SPEAKER_05

Uh soon you arrive at a cozy little bakery floating on a giant cloud. It's a chimney. It's chimney doesn't poke pu puff smoke. Poke smoke.

SPEAKER_03

Poke smoke.

SPEAKER_05

It doesn't poke the smoke. It's a chimney chimney.

SPEAKER_00

Chimini cricket.

SPEAKER_05

Cricket doesn't puff smoke. He does though. He does smoke.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Which is not good for him.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_05

It puffs tiny sparkling stars that drift away, twinkling softly before joining the night sky. What are we talking about right now? A sign above the door reads The Cloud Bakery. Fresh dreams baked every night. Oh they are definitely smoking.

SPEAKER_00

Smoking and uh edibles, I think.

SPEAKER_05

I guess so.

SPEAKER_00

Pot brownies, I guess.

SPEAKER_05

Inside everything is wonderfully warm. A cheerful badger wearing a flour-dusted apron waves.

SPEAKER_00

Another animal.

SPEAKER_05

We know what this badger's up to. He's got flour dusted on his apron. But he waves and says, Welcome. I'm Baker Bramble.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Right? We were hoping you'd visit. Shelves are lined with the most unusual treats. No kidding.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Moonbeam croissants that glow gently in the dark. Starlight cookies that make you hear your favorite lullaby while you eat them. I thought I was gonna say your own heartbeat, but yeah, okay. A lullaby while you eat them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

I'm still crying, by the way. Cloud puff cakes. So light they float above the plate until you catch them. They've got cakes flying away.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, you better catch them fast.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's not good. Midnight cocoa topped with whipped constellations that s slowly swirl into little shapes like dragons, whales, and sailing ships. Baker Bramble leans in with a smile. Every guest gets to help make one magical dessert. He opens a recipe book with blank pages. The recipe appears only after you choose the main ingredient. He sets three glowing jars on the counter. A spoonful of moonlight. It makes desserts glow and fill people with peaceful dreams. A handful of stardust. It adds tiny surprises. Every bite is a new happy memory.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

A drop of rainbow mist. It changes flavor with every bite becoming your favorite taste in that moment. The fox snudges you gently. What shall we bake tonight? Choose one. You know what? I'm thinking this is our story. We can make something up.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

You want to put pot in there? Cannabis. Cannabis is my fourth option. Okay? Just because it feels like it makes sense. Unless you have something else.

SPEAKER_00

No, no.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Should it be flavored?

SPEAKER_00

Uh peach.

SPEAKER_05

Peach. Peach cannabis. Alright. Okay. The fox blinks twice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's the only thing I can do. Hell yeah. It's a cripple fox now.

SPEAKER_05

Baker Bramble peers at the recipe book. Peach cannabis? The recipe book lets out a dramatic and gently closes itself. Like, I don't think so. A tiny teacup with little feet screes scries. Squries over. Skrries. Skorries. Skrreeze. Skorries over and whispers, sorry. This bakery is for sleepy, cozy treats only. We don't bake anything that can make our guests unwell or unsafe before bedtime.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

The badrant nods and smiles. But peaches? Now those are wonderful. With a flourish, he places a basket of fuzzy golden peaches on the counter. They smell like sunshine saved from the afternoon. Okay. How about a peach moon tart instead? Whatever. He slices a ripe peach, stirs it with a spoonful of shimmering moonlight, and tucks it into a buttery cloud crust. As it bakes, the whole bakery fills with the scent of warm peaches, vanilla, and cinnamon. When the tart is ready, each slice glows with a gentle amber light. You take a bite. It tastes like the happiest summer day you've ever imagined. For a moment, tiny peach-colored fireflies dance around the bakery, spelling out sleepy words. Rest, dream, wonder. The fox catches one of his fingertips. No.

SPEAKER_03

That's not what it says. Oh my god, that's working.

SPEAKER_00

It's just hanging there anyway.

SPEAKER_03

It fell off.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no. Can someone pick that up for me?

SPEAKER_03

That's poor guy. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Poor fox.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god, I'm sorry. Okay. He catches one on his fingertip.

SPEAKER_00

Oh. Still hurts.

SPEAKER_05

Stop throwing things at me. I think the bakery likes you. Just then a little brass bell above the door rings. Ding! A sleepy customer has arrived. There's three options, okay, of who arrives.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh one, a tiny bear who can't find the perfect bedtime dream. Number two, a baby dragon whose sneezes accidentally toast the paint paint pastries.

SPEAKER_00

Pantries.

SPEAKER_05

The whole place is on fire. Uh three, a wise old owl looking for a recipe that's been missing for a hundred years. Who walks in?

Writing The Recipe For A Perfect Night

SPEAKER_00

I'll give you a hint.

SPEAKER_05

An owl? Yeah. Aww. Okay. The little brass bell gave another cheerful ding. In waddled a snowy owl, wearing a pair of tiny round spectacles. One feather stuck out at a funny angle, as though it had argued with the wind and lost.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no.

SPEAKER_05

Why are you arguing with the wind? Good evening, the owl said with a polite bow. I am Professor Professioner.

SPEAKER_00

Professor.

SPEAKER_05

Professor. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's pretending to be educated.

SPEAKER_05

I'm Professionator. I am the Professionator. Hootsworth. I'll be back. I'll be back. Professor Hootsworth. Oh. Keeper of the old recipe book. Baker Brambles, ears perked up. The missing recipe? The owl sighed. I'm afraid so. He carefully unrolled an ancient recipe card. Most of the writing had faded away. Only the title remained. The recipe for a perfect night. But that's impossible, said the fox. Everyone's perfect night is different. I am experiencing my perfect night right now. In three different pieces.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Do you have some morphine?

SPEAKER_05

Help. I changed my mind. I don't want to die. Exactly, said the owl with a twinkle. That's why the recipe disappeared long ago. It can only be written, rewritten by someone what?

SPEAKER_00

Written and rewritten.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe drafts and such by someone who is here for the very first time. The owl gently slid the blank card towards you. Oh bum bum bum. As soon as your fingertips touched it, not the foxes. So the words uh no words shimmered into view. Ingredient one. A place where you feel safe. The card waited. The fox smiled. It doesn't have to be a real place. It can be a place where anywhere, it can be anywhere. It can be a place anywhere. No, it it doesn't have to be a real place.

SPEAKER_00

Can you make up your mind? Do you know what you're talking about?

SPEAKER_05

No. It can be anywhere your imagination wants to rest. So what place would you like to write on your recipe card? Okay, so I You get to make it up.

SPEAKER_00

I get to make it up.

SPEAKER_05

What's on your recipe card?

SPEAKER_00

A place. I need to f uh Happy Place. A happy place.

SPEAKER_05

Where is your happy place, Matthias?

SPEAKER_00

In a movie theater.

SPEAKER_05

Movie theater. Okay. Professor Hootsworth. The Professinator. Yeah. Sorry. Professionator. Hootsworth adjusted his spectacles. A movie theater, he said judgingly. No. Warmly. He said warmly.

SPEAKER_00

Judgingly.

SPEAKER_05

An excellent choice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

If you say so.

SPEAKER_00

You're not educated.

SPEAKER_05

You're not educated enough for this. I'm going to the next guy. The recipe card glowed and elegant silver letters appeared. Ingredient one. One cozy movie theater with soft seats, warm blankets, and just enough light to find the popcorn. Uh sorry. I'm reading. As the words settled onto the page, the cloud bakery began began.

SPEAKER_03

Begin.

SPEAKER_05

I I glitched. The cloud bakery began to change. The ceiling stretched into a sky of tiny twinkling lights. Rows of plush seats appeared where tables had been. The oven gave a happy ding and started popping fluffy clouds that looked exactly like popcorn. The fox laughed. Okay. Haha. I've never seen a bakery become a cinema before. A velvet curtain slowly parted. On the giant screen, instead of a movie, there was a glowing message. Welcome, Aunt Guest. Tonight's film has not been made yet. We apologize for any inconveniences.

SPEAKER_00

We need to shoot it first.

SPEAKER_05

We have not made this movie. It was just a concept.

SPEAKER_00

The script is delayed.

SPEAKER_05

Tonight's film has not been made yet because you are helping create it. A projector word softly.

SPEAKER_00

That's as far as they come.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. Click, click, click. The first scene faded into view. A little hedgehog wearing an oversized Usanka hat.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Ushanka. Ushaka. Ushanka.

SPEAKER_00

Ushaka.

SPEAKER_05

Ushaka. Uh anyway, he's wearing a hat and he stood on a snowy hill holding a lantern.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway. Anyway, he's wearing a hat.

SPEAKER_05

He was waiting for someone. Then the picture paused. Professionator Hootsworth smiled. The story is waiting for its next ingredient. Ingredient two. Someone you'd like to watch the movie with.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_05

Who's sitting beside you in the theater?

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, okay. I mean, the there's just the one person. Lauren.

SPEAKER_05

The bestie. Yeah. The bestie. The bestie Lauren. The best anater. I don't know. In this story, I played the role of the bestie.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Professor Nator Hootsworth gave an approving nod. A splendid ingredient.

SPEAKER_00

Wait. Are we cook cooking her?

Sympathy For The Fox Final Scene

SPEAKER_00

We're baking her.

SPEAKER_05

We're baking Lauren. Splendid ingredient. Lauren is a rather tender subject.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

The recipe card shimmered once more. Ingredient two. One bestie. Ready to laugh at the funny parts, gasp at the exciting parts, and quietly enjoy the peaceful parts together. The empty seat beside you gave a gentle whoosh. Vroom.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

A warm blanket floated over the armrests. A bucket of buttery cloud popcorn appeared between the sights. Sights. Seats. Sights. Sights. Sights. And two cups of hot cocoa settled into cup holders with little swirls of marshmallow clouds. The fox climbed onto the back of your row. Help me.

SPEAKER_00

Poor thing. Has to climb.

SPEAKER_05

Help me.

SPEAKER_00

All broke.

SPEAKER_05

This poor fox zombie is just like hovering throughout the story.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_05

Now that's what I call premium seating. That's what he says. Right behind the two of you. Be good. The projector hummed back to life. I guess it died. On the screen, the little hedgehog spotted another figure trudging through the snow. It was a cheerful raccoon carrying a backpack almost as big as they were. You made it, the hedgehog called. I got lost, the raccoon admitted. Twice, but eyebrow snacks. Sounds like me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

The two friends laughed. Haha, shared a handful of glowing popcorn. Doesn't sound good.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_05

And followed a winding trail of lanterns through the snowy forest.

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_05

The theater grew wonderfully quiet. As it should have been because we're watching a movie. Yeah. Why is it just now getting quiet? Even the stars outside seemed to lean a little closer, eager to see what happened next. Then, from somewhere behind the screen, a tiny silver bell rang. Ding! Professinator Hootsworth smiled. One final ingredient remains. The recipe card revealed a blank line. Ingredient three, a feeling you hope everyone carries home after the credits roll. What feeling would you like the movie to leave behind?

SPEAKER_00

Ugh.

SPEAKER_05

Confusion.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Disappointment. All of the fox's pain.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like sympathy for the fox or something.

SPEAKER_05

Sympathy for the fox.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. The story doesn't know what we're talking about.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Professor Professor Nader. Hootsworth reads your words aloud. Ingredient three, a little more sympathy for the fox. The recipe card sparkled. An unusual choice, the owl said. And a thoughtful one. No one really cares about the fox and his problems.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_05

So this is something that we're not used to. The projector began to roll again. On the screen, the hedgehog and the raccoon reached the end of the lantern trail. There, sitting all there, sitting all alone on an old wooden bench was the little fox from the bakery. Help! His backpack looked worn, and his map was covered in patches where it had been mended over and over. I thought you were the guide, said the raccoon. I am, the fox replied with a small smile. But who guides the guide? asked the hedgehog. The fox looked surprised. No one has ever asked me that. No one cares about me.

SPEAKER_00

Why would you ask that?

SPEAKER_05

The three of them sat together for a while, saying nothing at all. Awkward silence.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

The snowy forest was peaceful and sometimes that was enough. After a moment, the hedgehog reached into the backpack of cloud popcorn and offered it to the fox. The raccoon wrapped. Wrapped halfway around them. All three of them. Stretched stretched himself around everyone.

SPEAKER_00

Ow! Poor poor thing.

SPEAKER_05

Binds all of them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And then it ends up being like that scene in Gumby where all of them just get squished together in one big clay ball.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And then just roll away.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Um, actually, it says the raccoon wrapped half of the warm blanket all around three of them. Around all three of them.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

The fox's ta fox's tail gave the tiniest wag. I almost read swag, but it says swag. The tiniest swag. Keep this. This is my tail. I spend every night helping others find wonderful places, he said. I suppose I forgot that I could stop and enjoy them too. So, said the hedgehog, tonight you're not our god. What am I? Our friend. The lanterns glowed a little brighter, not because they had more light, but because they were being shared.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_05

As the credits began to roll, soft music filled the cozy theater. Professinator Hootsworth carefully lifted the finished recipe card. It now read a cozy movie theater, one bestie to share the adventure, and a little more sympathy for the fox. The owl tucked it into the old recipe book. I believe, he said, smiling over his rum. No, it says the rim of his spectacles. Oh, oh, okay. He's not drinking. It's okay.

SPEAKER_00

Drunk owl.

SPEAKER_05

Smiling over his rum.

SPEAKER_00

Drunk owl.

SPEAKER_05

Been drinking this whole time. That this recipe will be baked for many nights to come. The fox looked at you with grateful eyes. Thank you. He said. Guides needs friends too sometimes. Oh my goodness. Guides need Guides need friends sometimes too. There's too many S's in this. Outside, the first hint of dawn painted the clouds with peach and gold. No cannabis. It looks like sunrise is on its way, said Baker Bramble. Time to head home. The cloud beneath your feet drifted gently back toward your room, carrying the scent of warm peaches, fresh popcorn, and cocoa. Just before the tiny round door beneath your bed clicked shut, you heard the fox call one last time. Half. I'm still broken. Next time the movie's on me. The end for tonight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yay.

SPEAKER_00

Very nice.

SPEAKER_05

That was fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, very nice bedtime story.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I hope the fox got to a hospital or a vet or something.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Poor guy. Alright. Well, I'm gonna wipe my tears. I'm still crying. Oh, the movie was sad. The movie? The story was sad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That was

1993 Favorites Life Woes And Goodbye

SPEAKER_05

it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I liked it.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_05

That's the year that I was born.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. I mean, maybe, maybe. Maybe. No, I mean, uh, Jurassic Park. I mean It's a good one. Can you beat it?

SPEAKER_05

Maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, there's a lot of good movies from 93. Like City Hunter.

SPEAKER_05

City Hunter.

SPEAKER_00

Crime Story.

SPEAKER_05

Nightmare Before Christmas.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Demolition Man, fun one. But yeah. I I think Jurassic Park was such a game changer. So I I I have to go with that one.

SPEAKER_04

Alright.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But yes, as you said, Nightmare is also very good.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Well, I believe we are at the end of the episode then.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So uh please tell me what is currently ruining your life.

SPEAKER_00

I feel fat. You look fat. Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_05

You're welcome. I I can say that as your bestie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I don't think it would be okay if anyone else said it.

SPEAKER_00

No. No, but uh yeah, I've been eating I haven't been good at all since ever. Ever. Uh no, for a while now. So I know I probably gained.

SPEAKER_05

Same.

SPEAKER_00

That's ruining my life. And that's your answer too.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I think so. Maybe. What else do I have? Procrastination, laziness in general. I could have gotten a lot of things done this week, but I just uh didn't. I bought a TV instead.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And covered that up with I'm busy with the TV. I can't possibly do anything else right now.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes you do things like that.

SPEAKER_05

I do that. I do that.

SPEAKER_00

I do that.

SPEAKER_05

I do that. Are you all out of sips?

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, I'm all out of sips.

SPEAKER_05

So am I.

SPEAKER_00
